I think he could get into the holidays more post-escape when they aren't tinged with as much bittersweetness, and though he may feign indifference or put up a bit of a begrudging show, after his vow in the forest to Emma, if any of the younger children wanted him to dress up as Santa, he's dressing up as Santa.
