Everyone agrees, Tommy has the biggest ______.
@118dailydrabble Day 13: Volunteer
bucktommy; featuring henren & madney
Rating: T
“Who has first round?” Chimney asks.
“Don’t everybody volunteer at once,” Tommy mutters, gesturing for Buck to let him out of the booth.
“Hey, you have the biggest wallet,” Chimney counters.
“No dependents,” Karen agrees.
“And the biggest hands,” Hen offers.
“So you’ll have no problem carrying the drinks,” Maddie says.
“And the biggest —”
“Buck!” They all groan.
“—heart.” Buck rolls his eyes.  “You didn’t let me finish.”
Tommy smirks and kisses Buck’s cheek. “Thank you, baby. I’ll be back.”
Buck watches Tommy make his way to the bar, admiring how his ass looks in his jeans.  He turns back to the table. “He also has the biggest dick.”
Chimney throws a peanut at him. “Damn it, Buck.”

fic writing meme
gratuitously ganked from @tierfal
What is your total wordcount on AO3?
1,463,124
That’s... yeah. Okay, I have zero excuse for that.
How often do you write?
Lately I’ve been back to writing at least 500-1000 words a day, even if I don’t like any of them. There was a time I was churning out twice that daily and posting it, but that was a few years ago and now it feels like an uphill battle to throw out 500 words that I may or may not like very much when I look at them later.
Do you have a routine for writing?
Not... really. I tend to write a little before work and make an effort to sit down and write some after work as well. I actually, a few years ago now, bought a cheap desktop computer for the sole use of writing so I actually have to physically remove myself from my laptop to go be productive. The change of location often works, but not always.
(The mechanical keyboard is SO MUCH MORE SATISFYING to write on, though. AND IT CHANGES COLORS.)
What’s your favorite kinks/tropes/pairing?
If you had looked me in the eye two years ago today and said “not only do you like abo fic but you wrote one over 200k” I would have laughed myself fucking sick.
I’m not into Deep Dark Angst and shit but I do like putting characters through some wringers but I am a Sucker For A Happy Ending. 99% of the time if I’m putting the characters through shit it’s gonna come out happy at the end. (The other 1% of the time is the kicker and why I still revel in the response I got to the end of the MMO AU. Even though I went back and fixed it later. I’m enjoy left-fielding people, occasionally.)
Favorite pairing? Well currently it’s Shance/Shklance. Of all time? Toss-up between RoyEd and Masagoto. The one I’ve written the most for? Prooooobably RoyEd, but Masagoto is right there neck and neck.
Do you have a favorite fic of yours?
I go through this rotation of love/hate with my fics where I will love them for a while then I do the “look at them and despair” because it’s not what I ~envisioned~ or some of the lines are cringe-y or something and then I ignore the existence of the fic for a while and then reread it and go “well that’s actually pretty GOOD, huh, go me,” and the cycle begins anew.
I am extraordinarily fond of the Samflam typetriggers I did - trying to wrange a full fic into 300 words exactly is definitely an experience. Alas I am too tired to go back through and pick just one of them to share, though.
Your fic with the most kudos?
Unsurprisingly, shining like the stars. It stands currently at 4780 kudos.
Anything you don’t like about your writing?
It’s really hard to look at your own stuff with an objective eye. I feel like I get lost in my own stories sometimes, and slts really suffered because it was a seat-of-my-pants fic (even if a lot of the wait, where did that plot thread go? is starting to resolve itself in the sequel I’m working on). I have a tendency to go, “I don’t know where I’m going with this” so I’ll just end a scene and move on. I also don’t know how to write a proper ending to save my life which is why a lot of fics just end.
I can very easily look back at a fic and wince and go, lord that can be a LOT better, but without literally rewriting it I am hard-pressed to tell you how. I never really learned proper editing techniques either and god does that show, even now.
Now something you do like?
It sounds kinda silly, but I really like how I do character voices, especially in Voltron? I mean, half the time I’m wincing as I’m writing something but then I’ll come back to it later and be like, this flows so well, wtf. I weirdly love dialogue and banter and I don’t know where that came from because I’ve never been particularly good at dialogue but suddenly it’s working? I’m pleased but confused.
I’m always amazed that I can write funny things into fics and be actually entertained by them reading them later. Like, it shouldn’t be difficult for me to make myself laugh but whenever I giggle at an old fic I’m like, dang, I did that.
Also, I do love how the Voltron dogfights turn out when I write them, even if I’m making up 90% of the shit as I go and hoping it sounds good lmfao.
I tag... @welcomedmachine and @rinthegreat and @akisazame and @makethwoman and anyone else who writes and wants to do it
