i saw you post comparing ludinus to jimmy and something clicked for me. i get why ppl think ludinus' goal is to become the ultimate god and ruler of all the world but if we're being real you KNOW hes the type of guy who fantasizes about dying gloriously in battle sacrificing himself to save the world. this man would give anything and everything to have gone down in history as a tragic martyr figure, he dreams about it every night.

it's funny, you know? because i do believe it when he says that he isn't interested in aiding the weavemind's colonization of exandria and will fade into the shadows.

of course, it's for that reason he's full of shit. let's completely remove the whole "unapologetically started a race war in c2" from the picture and get into how he knows damn fucking well what he's doing is going to fuck over the oppressed underclass he claims to be helping. it's how he scared liliana into staying with him by threatening her with the thought of retaliation that he went out of his way to ensure. ludinus benefits from their oppression, takes advantage of their trust, and throws them to the wolves before systematically executing them one by one. he wanted all of their power with zero of the oppression.

everyone says "well ORYM lost his husband and dad and HE didn't pull this shit!" or "well ASHTON got over himself after losing his parents!" but i while that's valid, i think that an equally just as old chetney pock o'pea is the most apt comparison. chetney lost his family at a young age, went through hardships due to supremely powerful being stepping all over him, worked hard and he's still a fucking toymaker living on the streets. ludinus, even after all that happened to him, still had the ungodly luck to become one of the most politically powerful people in the world.

and he refused to see how he, to an nonbeliever, was just as much of an oppressor as the gods were. he is a perpetual victim being harmed on all sides, and that's why he doesn't want power. if he gets it, then his whole worldview crumbles. how can he be a poor put-upon victim trying to just help people and the highest of the high at the same time?

gods forbid he ever look inside himself and figure out the truth.
