#once again channeling the spirit of Pete Wentz

I hate Collegeboard but especially the SAT
In three years you’re a lucid dream/ Nothing but a setback on a losing streak / And I’ll take those odds / Bet against the house / If it means I end up at yours
In three years I’ll be in a better place / Beyond content with losing the race / Till then I can’t complain / About growing pains / Of the heart
They say those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones but a high speed bullet will do / Handing out apologies like new heartbreak currency but I’m out of cash for you / Burn the match down for a new sensation / Or trade a lost cause For a new flirtation / Turns out the fire was hotter than we thought it would be / Already lost in the flames and your false honesty
Last year at the end of a smoke / Fire burned my throat like a gun and a coke / But it’s cooled by your hands / Hard against the wall / But so soft against my sheets
They say those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones but a high speed bullet will do / Handing out apologies like new heartbreak currency but I’m out of cash for you
Burn the match down for a new sensation / or trade a lost cause for a new flirtation / Turns out the fire was hotter than we thought it would be / already lost in the flames and your false honesty

Once again, Pete, Wentz and I are connected on the astral plane. I wrote my own updated/millennial version of We Didn’t Start The Fire like eight years ago, but I actually went in chronological order, channeling the true spirit of Billy Joel. Disappointed that Wentz couldn’t do the same.
#I mean… I’m not saying my version was GOOD I’m just saying it was more true to the format#my brother wrote a We Didn’t Start The Fire about Game Of Thrones and THAT ONE is fucking genius#he calls it We Didn’t Start The Song of Ice and Fire and I love it so much#endless possibilities with that song. Billy Joel is literally a muse
