wilmington born and raised for that matter, haven’t decided where she sits in the age order still, but she’s got a couple of siblings !

her childhood wasn’t like, Majorly eventful; she was considered a bit of a tomboy which isn’t a surprise bc she’s always been a bit of a spirited, adventurous girl, has the odd nomadic moment strike her and loves to travel

is a big family girl overall, so much so that she’s eagerly awaiting the day she gets to be the cool aunt

had a decent cluster of pals over the years that’s likely dwindled due to everyone going their separate ways after high school

the second she graduated, she went to stanford to explore beyond the east coast and has pretty much been a city girl since — she never thought herself to be one, but aside from the san francisco area feeling like an exception, she does enjoy the nightlife and, sometimes, its fast pace !

however, upon graduating uni last year, she kind of wanted a break ig ?? which is why she returned home, stayed with her parents for a bit at her childhood home before renting out a little apartment for herself and beginning her graduate program and research stint at unc wilmington

as for the program she was/is pursuing, she had aspirations of becoming an anthropologist since high school to explore other cultures and meet new people/understand them, and can’t wait to get her masters and hopefully dive right into her career !

Mmmmmmmspill the skincare tea

dsjkhgkjshdkjh lol i’ve been dying for someone to ask so here we go

before i start i wanna say i have dry/normal skin and i’m on T which makes me break out so i use stuff to address these specific concerns

i use a six (ish?) step routine twice a day (if i remember and have the energy to lol). in order:

1) oil cleanser 

i use the face shop rice water light cleansing oil i saw recommended on tumblr once bc it’s pink and for dry skin lol i’ve been using it for seven months and it certainly gets the job done (i.e. taking off makeup and removing other oils from my face as needed before cleansing). i had to reorder for the first time this week but tbh the old bottle still has like a month left in it probably lol

2) cleanser

i used the matching rice water foaming cleanser that came in a 2 pack with the above oil for like six months and it’s good!! but it rlly hurts my eyes whenever i accidentally get it in there (which is,,,every time) so i thought i’d try sthg new. i started using the glossier milky jelly cleanser a couple weeks ago and i rlly like the consistency esp when i use it on dry skin (so i dry my skin between oil and normal cleansing). i also use a little electric face scrubbing brush thing i got from five below for $5 like five months ago and it’s okay even tho sometimes it doesn’t work lol. just a widdle exfoliation for every day

3) toner

i used the skin food peach sake toner for seven months and i LOVED it bc it smelled so good and felt like it was rlly working but i think it lowkey dried my skin out bc i have dry skin and it’s not for that so yesterday i got the thayer witch hazel alcohol-free toner in rose petal and it smells pretty (but not as good as the peach sake) and leaves my skin glowy and hydrated which is neato. still not sure if this will work for me but i’m hype abt it so far lol. after i cleanse and dry my face (again) i put this on a cotton pad and just kinda get my whole face, focusing on my nose bc i hate my nose pores with a fiery passion

4) essence

i actually didn’t kno what essence was rlly for until like a week ago???? i’ve been using the benton snail bee high content essence for seven months and i didn’t even kno why djshgkjshd but it’s like. to be used after toner to lowkey moisturize (and provide the healing benefits of the bee venom) before actual moisturizer? which i think is neat. anyway i just ordered a new bottle of this when i got the toner and second bottle of oil lol

5) serum

ok so to be real with u i just started using serum today bc it just seemed to slip my mind and i thought the essence was a serum and i’m just. very foolish. but yeah i got the the ordinary hyaluronic acid + vitamin B5 serum in the mail today and i used it after my essence (still not sure how much of it i need to use but it’s a process) and it’s stickier than expected but i love. it. sm. hyaluronic acid holds 1000x its weight in water so it’s like a super moisturizer and i love being a hydrated bitch so. also it’s a dupe for the glossier super bounce serum bc i love glossier but i’m not a dumbass

6) moisturizer

this is the only step that changes daily, the rest r all the same every day and i use every step the same in the morning and at night. it rlly depends on how my skin is doing and how i feel but i use four options here

for uh a year now maybe i’ve been using this cetaphil face + body lotion for my face,,,and body,, and it’s like fine but this past winter hit me hard and my skin has been super super dry since. so i’ve had to upgrade to a real intensive lotion for my body and i started using a face-specific moisturizer. i still use this on my face when i’m feeling lazy and also sometimes when i’m dysphoric bc idk it seems less feminine? whatever

for like six months i used the face shop eco-therapy moisturizer which is good but rlly lightweight and i found i started layering it? since my skin is so dry it just drank it all up and needed more? so that’s not ideal and rn i just layer it on top of my oil moisturizer sometimes

i got a sample of some marula oil and i fell in love and my bf got me the full size. so whenever my skin needs pampering or i wanna be especially glowy for the day i use it - sometimes i put it in my hair too to keep it from being too frizzy lol

and last but not least abt two weeks ago i started using the glossier priming moisturizer as my daily moisturizer under my makeup bc normal primer hates my colourpop foundation on my skin for some reason. and also i’m like out of the eco-therapy so i needed sthg else. but yeah it’s v lightweight and it’s billed as “buildable” so i layer it too but idk i just like it better. is it bc the packaging is pink? maybe. we’ll never know.

i also exfoliate whenever i feel like my skin is too dry (a too-rough diy scrub i made w brown sugar + coconut oil + honey that rlly shouldn’t be used on the face but no one can stop me), occasionally use a sheet mask or clay mask when the mood hits. as for the lips i use lypsyl lip balm religiously and i have the glossier balm dot com but it’s pretty meh. it’s not in a stick so it’s less convenient for me lol.

the pimple on my cheek is probably from T or stress but other than that my skin is v good :D also my cheeks r a lil pink but that’s cute and my under eye bags have been that bad since fourth grade and there’s nothing that can be done lol
