so thanks to the ofmd s2 premiere i've been listening to this woman's work by kate bush a lot tonight, which led to me watching a youtube clip of she's having a baby, the movie that the song was written for. and the thing is it's supposed to be this dramatic scene where the woman is having a dangerous labor and both she and the baby might die but part of the way they communicate that is by repeatedly panning across a table of surgical instruments and it's just like. probably 50 hemostats of varying sizes. maybe 10 college pliers. two yankauer suctions (not connected to any suction tubing, just the suction tips sitting on the instrument table). and ONE scalpel. like it's so funny to me ik they don't expect the average audience member to be able to identify surgical instruments but it's literally rows upon rows of clearly identical objects. you don't need to know what a hemostat is to look at those shots and go "hey those are all the same fucking thing"
