procrastinating on adhd medication is crazy. on the one hand i can actually sit down and work on one thing for 8 hours but on the other i have now not spent the 8 hours in question efficiently writing the very basic 10 minute presentation i have to give on blade runner next week but have instead been reading a book about postmodern metanarrative and searching for pdfs of papers on cyberpunk films and media philosophy (which is very interesting but way beyond anything i could ever mention in the presentation i should have been prepping this whole time)
#and now i’m angry that i won’t have enough time to talk about my deep and copious thoughts on the eye motif and the way the film comments#on its own mediality by addressing acts of seeing and perspective as the blurring of fact and fiction in film#as both a medium of percieved truth and one predominantly used to tell stories of fantasy#and as such in this uncertainty and layering of fictions categories like artificial and genuine lose their meaning#even more so before the uncertain subjects of a dystopian post individual context#but what i’m actually supposed to say is more along the lines of ‘blade runner is a 1982 sf film by ridley scott that is about androids’
