Hi and Hello once again, dear! I loved the family/children headcanons! They were simply adorable! And so I was wondering how would the Senju family + Sakura and Minato react to falling for a single parent? Would it be especially important to them to have a good relationship with the child and be seen as the other parent in their eyes or would it be more of a necessery stepping stone/small inconvenience to them? What if the other parent was also in the child's life/wanted them or the child back?

🌳Hashirama wouldn’t mind that much falling for a single parent. He would only be a bit worried what his clan will think about this, feeling scared that they might not accept the fact that he fell in love with you and won’t allow him to court you.

🌳The only thing he is angry with is that someone else managed to have you before him, but that person is luckily away now. But he’ll also be angry with the person because they left you and your child on their own.

🌳For Hashirama it is important to have a good relationship with your child and be seen as their new parent. He loves you and will treat that child like it’s his own. He’ll spend a lot of time with them like a father would with his child. He wants to be loved by the child as well as you. He sees you as perfection so the child is for him perfect as well even when it isn’t his own.

🌳If the woman/man who left you tries to get you and/or the child back there’s no way that Hashirama will let that happen. That jerk lost his/her right to be with you and your child the moment they left you. The fact that the Hokage himself is spending time with you and the child is already intimidating enough, especially if everyone knows that the both of you have a good relationship. If the person is still persistent on getting you and/or the child back then they should be prepared for the Hokage to step in. Hashirama will the first few times just give a friendly warning, but if that shows no effect then he’ll become more forceful.

🌳If the other parent is still in the child’s life involved even before he became Yandere over you and if you and your child still wants to see them then he might try to endure that for a while. But Hashirama doesn’t see the other person as worthy enough to be even anywhere near you or the child, especially after leaving the two persons they were supposed to cherish the most in their life. A few friendly warnings the first few times. If that idiot still tries to be a permanent part of the child’s life he’ll blackmail them.

🌳Overall Hashirama wants you and your child to love him and if you have any financial problems he’ll take care of it and will try his hardest to fill the spot perfectly that the idiot left behind in the life of you and your child.

Tobirama Senju

🌊Tobirama is a proud man and will be conflicted when falling for a single parent. I can see him as someone who might feel a bit ashamed of it and will even try to move on. He doesn’t like that there was someone else who claimed you before him as theirs.

🌊But that person is on the other hand away now, meaning that there is a spot free in your life now. He is a very traditional guy so to know that someone actually left their partner after having a child is a huge disgrace for him. He’s the type to look down on your Ex.

🌊Tobirama doesn’t really feel comfortable with children since he’s a bit clueless about how to act with him and might even hold a slight grudge against them since they aren’t his child. He sees it more as a way to reach your heart faster because if your child likes him and sees him as a parent figure you and his relationship might improve faster.

🌊It’s very likely that Tobirama already started giving the man/woman a hard time as soon as he found out about them as a kind of revenge for you. But if he didn’t and they suddenly want to take their place in your life again? He’ll crush them. How do they dare to come anywhere near you or your child after leaving you so coldly? He’ll give them something worse than death. That’s of course only if the fact that you and the Hokage have a close relationship didn’t scare that person already off.

🌊If the person is involved in both of your lives even before Tobirama came into the picture it’s the same story. He’ll let them see how their life crumbles right in front of their eyes. No mercy is shown. He wants that person to be completely gone from your life.

🌊He might grow to love the child someday, but for now there are most likely the easiest way to make you love him. He wants to make sure that you forget all about that asshole as quickly as possible. He’ll show you that he is much more fitting to be your partner in all of your life aspects.

Tsunade Senju

🐌Tsunade is in this point like Hashirama. She doesn’t care all that much that you are a single parent. She loves you just for who you are.

🐌But that jerk that left you? She hates that woman/man with a burning passion. She just can’t understand why they left you and your child alone. What if this left emotional scars on you or the child?

🐌Tsunade will adore that child. How could anyone leave this little sweetheart here? She’s more than happy to be the new parent for this child and be there for them unlike the idiot who left them. She doesn’t even care that it isn’t her own.

🐌I doubt that your Ex will be dumb enough if they know with whom you have a close relationship with. She’ll have an outburst if she hears that your former partner tries to take you and/or the child back. She won’t let that bitch/bastard anywhere near you or your child. If that person dares to try then they’ll have to expect that the fifth Hokage herself will have a “nice and polite” talk with them.

🐌If the person is still involved with you and the child even before she met you she’ll feel angry. That idiot shouldn’t even dare to show their face anywhere near you? What if you or the child suffer because that person’s still somehow involved in your life and you can’t move on because of that? Another “calm” talk between her and the other person is needed.

🐌Tsunade cares deeply for you and the child and if you suffered any damage because of your former partner she’ll take care of it and will help both of you to move on and give both of you the love the other person was never able to give you.

Minato Namikaze

⚡️Minato would be mildly surprised upon hearing that you’re a single parent, but he’s a very open-minded man so he won’t feel awkward or have a negative reaction.

⚡️Passive-aggressive type whenever someone speaks about the person who left you and the child alone or when he meets them. He just dislikes that person for leaving you and the child like a coward.

⚡️As mentioned, very open-minded so he doesn’t mind that this child isn’t biological his. He’ll still love and care for them as if they’re his own. A really supportive one for the child. It’s important for him to have a good relationship with the child.

⚡️That person dares to go anywhere near you despite the fact that you’re close to the fourth Hokage? He’ll try to have a normal talk with the person at first if he/she tries to come back into your life even though he can’t help, but let the one or other comment slip in. He doesn’t think that it’s okay for them to just leave you and the child on their own just to come some day back and asking to go back to how things used to be. He really tries to reason with them, but if he’s pushed to his limit he’ll use bribing and blackmailing.

⚡️If the person was already involved in your life before his obsession over you started he might at first try to hold back, especially if your child wants to see their parent, but even he can only hold on for that long. Here again he’ll try to reason with the guy at first and if that doesn’t work he’ll use his power.

⚡️He knows that he is different than your Ex and knows that he doesn’t have all the traits you might have admired and loved about them, but he tries his best to be a good husband and father for your child.

Sakura Haruno

🌸Sakura adores you and couldn’t care less about the fact that you’re a single parent. That just means that she can become an important person in your and your child’s life.

🌸That doesn’t count for whoever asshole left you and your poor child. She despises that person with her whole being for being so cruel to leave you and your child on their own.

🌸She adores you and your child. Doesn’t care at all that it isn’t hers, she’ll treat and love them like there are her own. She’s left clueless about how heartless a person has to be to leave this little darling here. But that child doesn’t need to worry about that, Sakura is here for them now.

🌸She’ll throw a fit when she finds out that this moron there wants to get you and/or your child back. She won’t let that happen under any circumstances and will protect you and your child fiercely against that jerk.

🌸If the person was still a part of your life even before she fell for you she’ll get jealous quickly since she doesn’t want you or your child to be around the same person who left you both alone. She’s obvious with showing her dislike for the person and will most likely scare them with her brutal strength off.

🌸Sakura is so in love with you and your child and will do anything to help you move on and prove to the both of you that she can give you everything your Ex couldn’t and can protect you.

remember the post ab timeloop au from a while back? yeah forget that

where obito’s supposed to die, kakashi does because he manages to push obito aside before obito can be impaled and kakashi takes that hit for him. obito lives and is sent to prison to sasuke, yadda yadda, chakra sealed and he falls into a depression because all he can think about is the fact that he’s alive when kakashi is dead. and kakashi definitely should’ve lived because he’d be doing plenty more helpful things, rather than sitting in this prison rotting away.

so he decides to fix it. kamui hijinks, and hooray! he’s back next to kakashi, and kaguya is about to send a chakra rod hurtling through his chest. obito shoves him aside before kakashi can do the same and the rod hits the ground. thank gods, kakashi’s—

kakashi’s dead because kaguya’s not an idiot. kakashi’s still got a rod through him stomach and he’s dead.

no, this won’t do.

he’s next to kakashi again, and this time he steps in front so there’s no possible way kaguya can’t hit him too. and if he does, he’s got his kamui ready.

but kakashi’s too close behind him and they both end up dying. this won’t do either. kakashi has to LIVE.

again and again, obito tries and fails to save kakashi, save them both, kill himself, but nothing works. everything ends in kakashi’s death somehow.

so, okay. okay, maybe the problem is rooted somewhere else? the obvious answer is where obito turned evil. so he goes further back, and saves rin. jumps forward in the timeline, and—and kakashi’s still dead because at some point, obito’s still gone evil and killed kakashi by his own hand.

bad timeline. he moves on.

saves himself from getting crushed. team minato loves on happily, except kakashi’s ridiculed by the village for his father’s death and for being a friend-killer, because rin’s still dead in the situation they all know so well. itachi admires kakashi so much and he’s far more proficient in genjutsu than kakashi is. it’s the same original timeline, except itachi takes obito’s place.

further back. he knows he’s walking a thin line and he’s probably fallen off, in all honesty. but this has to happen.

he stops sakumo. kakashi won’t ever lose his original ideals. jumps forward in the timeline, and now kakashi’s dead in a mission because he was never so motivated to save his friends in the way he had ever been before. because obito never had to restore those morals.

“it’s meant to happen,” zetsu (or kaguya) says to him after the hundredth time of trying to change the timelines. “kakashi dies because it’s what leads you to change the shinobi system, whether it’s by you destroying its roots or becoming hokage. it’s a crucial point in any timeline that you can’t change.”

“except i have to,” obito says brokenly. he has to save kakashi because he loves him, and it’s only taken kakashi dying in front of his eyes a hundred times for him to realize this.

“if you do, you’ll destroy this universe.”

“i won’t,” obito says. that would be pointless. he can save kakashi and the universe. there has to be a timeline where it happens.

it’s over a thousand more tries before he knows he has to get more power. he has to be in several places at once, kill too many people at once, so he starts taking chakra from versions of himself and anyone else who’s compatible. steals jutsu from timelines that let him clone himself infinitely, and it’s an unknown amount of time later when he’s satisfied. he knows he can save kakashi.

revival scrolls haven’t ever worked with kakashi’s chakra. but this one has to. this plan has to work.

it’s back to the original naruto timeline and he works to make sure everything plays out perfectly for kakashi. obito and rin still die, and obito still follows through with his plan. kakashi needs that motivation to become stronger. they fight against each other and obito hurls insults at him, in the way he knows will hurt kakashi enough to want to hurt him. they fight against kaguya. obito takes the pole to the stomach and kamui’s kakashi’s away.

finally. he’s succeeded. kakashi can live. he’s about to die in peace when: “obito, what—“

obito blinks his eyes open and is met with a furious kaguya looming over the two of them. she’s covered in something that looks like amaterasu and obito’s triumphant, except—

“YOU!” kaguya yells. “you destroyed it all! we’re all going to die because of you!”

the universe is falling apart before him. kakashi’s looking at his hand fearfully, and it’s covered in the same amaterasu-like material as well.

so he failed. again. fine. he kamui’s back to another timeline, but he—he can’t. he’s stuck.

“don’t you see?” kaguya shouts. “every timeline! you can’t win, obito!”

no, no no, he takes himself and kakashi to kamui. kamui isn’t being destroyed. they’re safe here. but kakashi’s not, he’s still disappearing.

“obito, i—what did you do?” he asks, voice shaking. kakashi’s never been scared like this before, because he knows he’s not just dying. he’s disappearing. everyone is.

“i saved you,” obito denies, gathering kakashi into his arms. “i—you’re supposed to live, and you’re supposed to become hokage and change the world.”

kakashi just stares at him fearfully, but he doesn’t try to escape the embrace. probably because he knows he can’t.

he doesn’t say anything. obito hates that his last words are a question, asking what obito’s done over the last unknown number of years.

what has he done, really?

optional: the sage appears momentarily, in the only dimension that obito has access to anymore because he destroyed every other one in existence.

obito begs him for help. to bring kakashi and the world back, and that he’s sorry he tried, and that he’ll accept kakashi’s death.

“it’s not my place to interfere anymore,” the sage says, shaking his head. “you went too far. these are your consequences.”

Chapter 4

Sarutobi arrives back from the camping weekend, once he enters inside Kawaki is there waiting for him

Sarutobi(entering the living room): oh!...dad you scared me....

Kawaki: you didn't tell me you were with Akamari the whole three days camping?

Sarutobi: I'm sorry father I left a note....and notified mom about where I was she said it was fine...

Kawaki: are you getting attached...because if you are...you will pay the consequences of your actions

Sarutobi: no I'm not....it was a family outing...Boruto's family was there...along with Seinor Uzumaki and his wife....

Kawaki: I notice how you look at her....she's as attractive as her mother...even if she is thirteen...turning fourteen in November right

Sarutobi: I don't know what you are implying but....we are just friends that's it....

Kawaki: I hope so...for your sake and hers...like I said don't get attached...it won't do you any good...

Sarutobi(disappointed): I know...I can confirm that...don't worry father

Kawaki(pats him on the shoulder): I'm making sure a tragedy won't occur...I'm glad we know the terms

Kawaki leaves and Sarutobi heads to his room and locks the door...he uncovers the sculpture that he is working on. It's Akamari kneeling down reading a book, while Sarutobi is laying down his head on her lap and strokes the tip of her dark blue hair.

Sarutobi(thinking): my dad can never see this....it will infuriate him, I must hide it until her birthday

He hides it under his bed...and cleans up his room throwing old used paper and organizing his art books, along with some comics and school workbooks he uses from time to time

Sarutobi(throwing out the trash): there all cleaned...time to go to bed....its late and I am needed tomorrow for some manual labor

The next morning Sarutobi is at Borutos house with the twins helping with backyard chores

Boruto: Itachi, Sarutobi help me with the pile of leaves will you?

Sarutobi & Itachi: yeah no problem

Itachi rakes as Sarutobi picks up the leaves and puts it in the compost bin, they finish and wait for lunch

Minato: so what happened after she ran after you Sarubi

Sarutobi(annoyed): nothing she just apologized...and she hugged me to make me feel better...that's all

Itachi: your not telling us everything Sarubi...we know when you lie

Sarutobi: I'm telling you guys the truth...she just apologized for laughing at me...

The twins: fine we won't pry but u must come to terms with your feelings

Sarutobi(sad): I know don't remind me

Itachi(putting an arm around Sarutobi): we are just concerned that's all.....you know my cousin is out of your league and she is three years older than you...to her your just a kid...she sees you as a little brother

Sarutobi(sad): I know....its just frustrating to know that and I can't move on from that

Minato(getting an idea): Hey Sarutobi...how about we go to a sleepover...there's a few female girls I know that you would get along with

Sarutobi: really....but my dad...he won't allow it

Itachi: give me your phone...(sarutobi giving him the phone) I have a knack for replicating my dad...Minato be lookout where is he?

Minato(trying to find him): he is inside with mom helping with the hokage stuff

Sarutobi(stopping Itachi): wait this isn't right...we could get in trouble...

Itachi(pulling away from him): you need to experience life...and live a little....and this is the opportunity to do that

Sarutobi: wait...but what about your parents....

Minato: they are always out...and besides we already told them and said yes...we wanted to include you so this is the only way

Sarutobi(smiling): thanks guys...you really are my friends

Itachi(dialing the contact number): it's ringing

Kawaki(on the other line): hello Sarutobi....

Itachi(imitating Boruto): Hi Kawaki it's Boruto...I thought I'd ask if it would be okay for Sarutobi to stay over at our house tonight...

Kawaki: no...I'm not comfortable with it Boruto.....you know how I feel about sleepovers...

Itachi(imitating Boruto): I know that...its just the boys would love for Sarutobi to stay the night...its just one night you know

Kawaki(sighs): ok...I'll have his mother send his things later today....

Itachi(imitating Boruto): thank you Kawaki...

Kawaki(irritated): whatever...you idiot

The line cuts off, and Itachi is irritated that Kawaki insulted his dad

Itachi(irritated): how the hell can dad call that friendship....he so grumpy and cold...its like like he lives angry...!

Minato(irritated): Itachi...Sarutobi heard that!

Sarutobi(upset): it's ok my dad is a difficult person to understand...

Itachi(asking): no offense but how does your mom handle him....?

Sarutobi: even if no one understands him...my mom sees past his rough exterior...they grew up in similar backgrounds...so she understands his outbursts and moodswings....she's the only one to calm him

Minato(sighs): and I thought my parents were complicated you know

Sarutobi(asking): Minato....are you sure girls will be there...

Minato(smirking): yeah....I'm very popular when it comes to making female friends

Itachi(admitting): or is it because you promised the girls Sarubi would be there

Minato(grabbing Itachi by the collar): why do always ruin the mood....!

Itachi(pushing his brother away): because if he gets caught...his dad won't let him off easy....think about it one fuck up and Sarutobi will no longer be able to hang out with us...his dad is Kawaki Madra for shit sakes...he is very strict when it comes to his son...a sleepover with girls will have him breaking doors and cause havoc

Minato(irritated): yeah I forgot he's scared of his son putting a bad name on the family....the reason why he is so strict with him (turning to Sarutobi) I promise I'll take the fall if shit goes sideways

Itachi(hitting him behind the head): do you always have to be so noble...even if you take the fall his dad won't care...he will say that it's still Sarubi's fault....nimrod

Sarutobi(sad): if it's ok with you guys I don't have to go...

Minato(convinced to go to the slumber party): no...you are going....tell me you have a plan itachi...please tell me you do...

Itachi(smiles): I do....but for it to work properly...you two must do exactly what I say...there can't be mistakes

Suddenly Sarada calls then for lunch, they head inside to eat a pot stew

Sumire is taking an afternoon stroll with her one year old daughter Saphire to Borutos house. Sumire knocks on the door and Sarada opens the door

Sarada(hugging Sumire): hi how are you?

Sumire: good and Sarutobi?

Sarada(calling Sumires son): Sarutobi your mom is here sweetie

Sarutobi(running downstairs): hi mom...(sweetly caressing his sisters cheek) hi Saphire...where is the cutest little sister I've ever seen...

Saphire laughs while Sumire smiles at her son's affection toward his sister, Sarutobi thanks his mother and grabs the luggage

Sumire(asking): sweeite...where's my kiss?

Sarutobi(embarrassed): mom...not in front of my friends

The twins(chuckling): yeah Sarutobi...where's mommy's kiss....

Sarada(glaring): you two stop it...or else (smiling while saying thier nicknames) Minno and Izzu

Sarutobi(thinking out loud): where have I heard that...(realizing) don't tell me you two watch that child's cartoon Spectacular

The twins(irritated): we were ten.... and mom why bring it up...that is a betrayal even we don't do to eachother....!

Sarada(laughing): well you shouldn't make fun of your friend...giving affection isn't wierd....its honest and pure

Sumire: there's nothing wrong with secrets right Sarada?

Sarada: right Sumire...are you heading home right now?

Sumire: yes my husband is waiting for me at home he says he has a surprise for me...well got to go bye

Sumire leaves and Sarutobi heads upstairs with the twins to go over thier plan. When the times comes to go to the girls slumber party they arrive at Kushina Grove where the Sabimaru Minatos female friend lives

Minato(knocking on the door): that's wierd nobody...

Suddenly the door opens and a maid answers the door

Maid: yes who are you?

Minato: we are here because we got invited to Sabimaru's birthday slumber party

Maid(realizing) oh yes come in....she's upstairs second door on your left

Minato(walking ahead): thank you

They arrive to the second door and as soon as they open it they are shocked of how sofisticated it looks along with how many people

Sarutobi(shocked): if this is a slumber party...we are out of tune for this

Minato: she always throws the biggest parties...I was invited because she wanted to get to know the cute purple hair eyed boy...

Itachi: and that's why you are a moron...thinking that bringing him would get you a girlfriend

Minato: your so irritating you know!

Sarutobi(trying to ease the tension): let's enjoy ourselves ok...we came to have a good time

If there is something that Kakashi has promised himself to always do is that he will never leave behind his comrades, his precious people.

Ever since Obito’s ‘death’, he has taken Obito’s wisdom to his own, and makes it like an oath, a way of living.

However perhaps it doesn’t always stand true, because for all of his greatness, his genius and his strength--

He’s still a human.

(And humans die).

When Kakashi comes to, it’s not the sight of the hospital’s familiar white walls that greets him, not the sound of chirping birds, nor is it the voice of his lover.

He sees white, he sees blue, he sees everything and nothing.

It doesn’t take long for him to realize, to comprehend and accept, to look down at his gloved hands that should’ve been covered with the blood of his enemies, to think that--

Ah.

I finally died.

For someone who’s taken Obito’s words about comrades into account, it certainly is quite pleasing to know that he died protecting his precious people.

He’s not entirely angry about it, not really. Everyone dies and it is a fact that he knows and accepts. But perhaps he is sad, because when he thinks back, he still has so many things he wants to do, so many things he wants to accomplish, so many things he wants to say.

She must be devastated, he thinks. Devastated and angry.

He certainly hopes she’s not blaming herself, truly, because it wasn’t her fault and it will never be.

Hopes that she will not become the angry, grieving shell he had been when he lost Obito, Rin and Minato-sensei.

(But she won’t, he knows, because she has always been strong, stronger than him in many ways possible, because she still has Naruto, and Sasuke, and Ino and many others--

She’s going to be okay.)

He hopes that--

She will not forget about him.

He hopes that--

She will be happy.

He’s sorry for leaving her so suddenly.

He’s truly sorry.

He remembers the time when he sees his father, waiting for him instead of moving on to the afterlife. Remembers the anguish and guilt and unmistakable joy for being able to see him again, to see his father once again and tell him, truly and truthfully, that he’s proud of his father.

He wonders if that’s how Sakura feels, when she finally comes, her pink hair now replaced by grey, the previously smooth and tender skin old and wrinkly, her voice raspy as she whispers--

“Kakashi?”

Kakashi smiles.

“Sakura, baby.”

He reaches out, catching hold of Sakura’s smaller hands, looking at her green eyes that are still bright as ever, as lovely as ever, glassy with tears not yet fallen.

Unable to help it, he laughs, happy and free, his right hand reaching upward to caress Sakura’s cheek, his smile as wide as it can be as he watches her lean into his touch and he misses this.

He misses her.

“I have been waiting for you,” he whispers, wiping the one tear that manages to fall with his thumb, a reminiscence to that time during the Fourth War, “Have you been waiting for me, too?”

Sakura seems to snort between her tears, “If you think that I haven’t waited for you, then you are mistaken.” It is her hands’ turn to reach out, cupping Kakashi’s cheeks. She sighs.

“I have never forgotten how you look like, but perhaps I have slowly forgotten your voice.”

Kakashi smiles, dipping low to whisper on her ear, “well, you can remember it again, now.”

“Tell me, Sakura,” he says, slowly, “what have you been up to?”

She raises her eyebrow, “do you really want to know? Whole one hundred and one years of it?”

“Please,” his eyes crinkles as he smiles, tugging Sakura to sit near him. “I’ve waited for you, it’s only logical that I would like to catch up for everything I’ve lost.”

“You were a Hokage,” Kakashi almost laughs, thinking of the many things that Sakura has told him, from her taking the seat of Hokage as Tsunade’s apprentice, to her giving the position to Naruto--tired of the paperwork and sitting all day, is her excuse--and becoming the crazy (and crazy strong) aunt for her comrades’ children, for their children’s children and their children’s children’s children.

“Elder Council, too,” she sighs rather wistfully, “I understand now why the Elders are always grumpy. Young people, idiots, the lots of them. Who the hell thinks it’s okay to take away the mandatory medic rule? When they all get hurt, they’re crying for medics.”

Kakashi laughs, then, because of course, of course Sakura is suited to be Hokage, of course Sakura is still strong and respected, even in her later days.

No matter how old, Sakura is Sakura, after all.

“You have always managed to astound me,” he says, his hand intertwined with Sakura’s own warm one, “I wish I could’ve seen it. You would’ve been such a beautiful sight to see.”

“Don’t patronize me,” she says, though some of her humor still lingers. “I’m old and wrinkly, I’m not as beautiful as I had been when you died.”

“Don’t be silly,” it’s his turn to say, frowning a little bit. “Your hair may be not pink or your skin may not be smooth as it once was, but you’re still beautiful for me.”

He tucks her hair behind her ear, smiling. “You have always been beautiful for me, Sakura. Beautiful and strong and kind, you’re everything for me.”

Sakura laughs. “Sap,” she says, but the happiness in her eyes is genuine for him to see.

“Only for you, my love.”

When they finally decide to go to the Afterlife, her form turns into what she looked like during her prime, and she says--

“Well. I guess I’m back to being pretty now.”

“I don’t know, Sakura-chan,” he says, a teasing tilt in his tone, “I don’t see any changes from a few minutes ago. I bet if I look closely, I can find a grey hai--oof!”

Sakura punches his stomach, laughing.

“Idiot.”

“I’m your idiot.”

“Unfortunately.”

(“I love you, Sakura.”

“And I, you.”)
