[Wow. This went nowhere, fast.]

[Part of me forgot about this. The other part of me remembered and desperately wanted to return.

I never did. I'm sorry.

It'd be so cheesy for me to say it was all because of the lack of attention, but honestly, that's what it boiled down to. No one cared about it, and my passion slowly dwindled away, only enhanced by my fixation on other things and the beginning of college.

But... I don't want it to go to waste. So, I'll go ahead and put everything here for anyone who cares to read it. Spoilers for OMORI, and even more spoilers for this AU... if it even matters to anyone anymore.]

[I wanted to lean in heavily to the idea of Omori ruling Headspace and Stranger being over Blackspace, as well as little bits and pieces of detail and lore sprinkled throughout the game but not expanded on enough for my liking. I decided to paint Omori as a king and Stranger as a rogue. Looking back on that, I may regret it a little bit, as Omori was never meant to be evil, even in the base game. He's a symbol of trauma and suppression, not a tyrant.

The Blackspace variants of the Headspace team had lots of power, as each "cycle" of Sunny living through Headspace's events (as referenced in the main game) would result in the Headspace cast dying, and the Blackspace cast would absorb those levels and abilities, becoming ultimately overpowered. They never lost their fondness of Sunny, though, and only wish to help him.

Basil and Stranger were once the same entity in Headspace, but as the truth leaked in and Basil acted out for the first time, Omori separated them, leaving Stranger and all elements of truth in Blackspace. What remained of Basil was only the positive parts, but of course not everything is perfect.

Most of the story is the same, apart from Omori and Stranger being opposing forces desperately trying to recruit more people for their causes. The main differences come into the characters themselves, as well as the ending. Basil mentioned in one post that the flowers on his wings give him more energy with their photosynthesis, but in Blackspace, they can't photosynthesize because of the lack of light, so he grows weak during his time there. Stranger desperately tries to convince him to merge again, but Basil continues to refuse.

When Sunny ends up in Blackspace, Omori goes to rescue him; that proves fruitless, however, and he instead goes to Basil, who begs him for another chance. Omori essentially brainwashes Basil, now too weak to resist, and Basil goes to try to burn the photo album and the memories Sunny has with it.

From here is the major change. Either Sunny can finally take a stand for himself, stop Basil, and Omori sends him to the area in the game where he relives the trauma and memories of the truth for real. Or, Sunny isn't able to stop him and is succumbed to Headspace forever.

Even from there, things can still change. If Sunny goes to the roof at the very end, Stranger takes over Basil and goes to stop him, and they have a fight up there, ending with -- probably -- the demise of both parties. Otherwise... things are made up, and happy ending, yay.]

[That's the basics of it. I wanted to reveal all of this gradually, but... we all see how that ended up. This is so boring in comparison, but it's all I have left.

Thank you to my friends who stuck with me, even with the staggered updates and complete abandonment of this blog and story for nearly two years now. Maybe I'll come back in the future and try to continue. Who knows. For now, for those who still care, I hope you can at least appreciate what scraps there are now.]

Battlefield Artemis, Protector of Warriors

“Hunting and the chase are the recreation of Apollo and Artemis, but they are also connected with the goddess [Athena]. For one thing because they are a part of the art of war…”

Artemis’ role in times of war and how she’s favored by soldiers are overlooked in favor the typical “war gods”, like Ares, Athena, and Mithras. While she was not called a “Goddess of War”, Artemis had a prominent role in war.

According to Mary Galvin, Artemis role in war is due to her connection to the life of society. Artemis prepares society for war and from the quote above indicates that there’s an overlap with the hunt and war.

Appeals were made to Artemis prior to war, especially when an enemy threatened the populace.

Historically people greatly believed that Artemis will protect them in times of crisis. The Ephesians had great faith that Artemis protected them danger, such as the legendary conquest of Croesus, who later built the first Artemision.

During the time the Persians controlled Ionia, they left the city of Ephesus and the Artemision mostly intact, despite destroying other cities and their sanctuaries and temples. The Syracusans, after a civil conflict try to keep the peace and decided to took steps to avoid further conflicts and keep a harmonious relationship with Artemis.

Artemis kept women safe from war. The women of Amphipolis gathered in the temple of Artemis Tauropolos and plead to Artemis for her help when their city was under threat.

Artemis also kept soldiers safe when they rest under her watchful eyes near her sanctuaries. Afterall Artemis’ sacred spaces were usually sites of asylum at least from the Archaic age to the late Roman period.

There’s a pre-war sacrifice ritual of pre-battle sacrifices to Artemis, usually with an animal sacrifice. Artemis occasionally give pre-battle epiphanies, she gave them signs or directly appeared to them herself. After a successful battle, the army and/or the society will give thanksgiving to Artemis and sometimes Artemis alongside other gods, typically Athena and/or Apollo, if they’re involved.

Examples of appeals before war and battle:

Antigone called upon Artemis prior to Parthenopaeus’ attack.

Agamemnon dedicated a sanctuary to Artemis at Megara in hopes to have Kalchas to join him in the Trojan war.

The Delphians appealed for help against a barbarian attack.

Before the battle of Marathon, the Athenians appealed to Artemis by promising to sacrifice a goat for each Persian killed.

Post-battle thanksgivings include:

Athens sacrificed numerous goats for their victory at Marathon against the Persians (though not 1:1).

Ephesus frequently honored Artemis each time they’re saved when they're in a pinch.

Alexander the average I mean Great honored Artemis with a sacrificed at Ephesus.

Xerxes the Great honored Artemis Ephesia, on his way back home after unsuccessful campaign in Greece.

Tissaphernes honored Artemis with a sacrificed at Ephesus.

Agesilaos honored Artemis with a sacrificed at Aulis.

The Spartans regularly sacrificed a goat in her honor.

Various memorials were erected around and inside Artemis’ sanctuaries to memorialized and thanking Artemis for her help in their time of need.

Athenians victory over Medes at Salamis memorialized in the temple of Artemis Proseoa.

Theseus’s at Troizen for his victory against the minotaur and his safe passage out of the labyrinth.

Preservation of land of the Cirrhaeans and Cragalidae.

At Euboea is Agamemnon stone ship with his thanksgiving for the passage to Troy.

Themistocles dedicated a shrine as thanks for his victory at Salamis.

Numerous thanksgiving inscriptions from Ephesus, Caria, Skythia, and throughout the ancient word from both Greek and non-Greek people.

Festivals and celebrations were made in Artemis’ honor.

Phokians initiated the Festival of the Elaphabolia at Hyampolis for their success against the Thessalians.

Athens observed on Mounychion 16th a holiday to Artemis in thanks for their success at Salamis.

Delphians initiated a festival for the thanking Apollo, Artemis, and Athena for their epiphanies during the battle against the barbarians and for their aid.

Another way that people thanked Artemis is the dedication of gifts at her sanctuaries and temples.

Artemis Ephesia was given a tithe from the spoils of war by the Greeks.

Images of war heroes were dedicated to Artemis, such as an image of Adrastus the Lydian was given to Artemis Anaitis, and Artemis Ephesia was given images of various war heroes, including Lysander and prominent Spartans.

Aetolians gave images of Artemis to Delphi after their war with people from Gaul.

Artemis also participated in peace treaties as well. One time in Rome, there was an agreement that was publicly posted in Artemis/Diana’s sanctuary. Governments and political bodies frequently ask for Artemis’ permission to ratify treaties and/or seek her recognition of the treaty.

Overall Artemis was appealed for her help during critical moments before and during battle and her protection from her sanctuaries to the battlefield. Armies called for her help via pre-battle sacrifices and after the conflict, they gave Artemis thanksgiving sacrifices and/or dedications. Before Mithras, Diana was the favorite god for Roman soldiers to pray to.

Star Wars/Omori AU ideas

Don’t know if you want everyone as a Jedi but I wanted to try to come up with random idea for a galactic civil war era background.

Prologue: The galactic empire was formed by The Emperor after a long period of war. Early on the galactic citizens welcomed the empire, if brought an end to a lot of major warlords, slave trade, and saved a collapsing economy. Many politicians also sided with the empire either out of being given incentives or truly believing in the security the empire could bring. Some people of both the political and common workers knew that the empire would eventually become a rope around their neck, the “security” would soon become an iron fist. Empire reveals its true colors and so on.

Mari and Sunny were both born to a imperial senate family, they had a lot of money and were taught to respect the empire, they didn’t really question it. That was until the day Mari was 18 and Sunny was 15 they come across two runaway boys (Hero and Kel) who apparently had parents who spoke out against the empire and were killed for it, leaving Hero to raise Kel mostly on his own. The two groups despite different home lives soon became best friends, eventually Mari’s father found out and was planning to rat them out, her and Sunny knocked him over the head, grabbed Hero and Kel, then stole their father’s personal starship which acted as the group’s home until they joined the rebels.

Mari and Sunny were field agents that usually handled hit and run tactics and common mission objectives. The people around the rebel base tend to call them “the dynamic duo” as they are always doing things together, and often cause extra damage.

Hero mainly acts as a planner, he typically works inside a safe spot and gives overview of the situation, lots of cameras, listening devices for nearby troopers, he is ground control for this group of rebels, though he also does get more involved in the field when needed.

Kel is the best pilot of the rebels, he’s been flying since he was a young child, and has only gotten better over the years, he typically handles rescues, dog fights, and on the field he’s usually the distraction with his super friendly attitude and social abilities.

Aubrey and Basil both come from tatooine, one the few planets the empire is still working their way into, both were orphaned and did odd jobs for most of their lives, even working for smudging groups and criminal groups. By the time they were 15 they became their own bosses as smugglers, it was always the two of them against the world. Initially they worked for anyone who paid (though they had restrictions such as no helping Hutt Slavers or Bounty Hunters) but that changed when they were hired by the rebels and met the others, they got along so well that Aubrey wanted to stay, she wasn’t sure if she believes the empire can be beaten but she is tired of working for scumbags. Aubrey typically handles ground mission direct combat and specializes in heavy weapons and explosives. Basil is a lot lore subtle he’s a slicer and can get into any system without even trying, he is horrible in direct combat though, so he is usually always with a group for protection.

Sunny and Mari are force sensitives, eventually Mari began to train as a Jedi with a mysterious figure who only introduced himself as “Stranger”. Mari soon enough barely had time for non mission time with Sunny and the gang, but why mostly understood, a bit of a drift occurred between the siblings as Sunny was worried about the attention having the force will bring, which is why he hasn’t spoken up about his force sensitivity. Eventually a mission happens that gets Vader involved, Mari is believed to be dead, and Sunny is kidnapped to be broken down into an inquisitor known as Omori. After enough drugs, being kept awake, force mind tricks, and torture sessions Omori emerged with his memories repressed and was made to be the lead inquisitor.

Mari secretly survived her fight, but lost limbs and organs from her fight, after being in a bacta healing coma and getting a lot of cybernetics, she finds out the the group kind of drifted apart after her and Sunny were reported KIA. Aubrey and Basil had a falling out, Basil refused to believe Sunny was dead and left to search for him, Aubrey went back to smuggling and has a whole new crew of “hooligans” as the rebels call them, Hero left field work and become a doctor for the rebels, but Kel remained a pilot becoming the lead fighter in dog fights.

I am in danger of giving up on Febuwhump.

But does anyone fancy a Omori AU about civil war, with enough angst to compensate?

What it’s about: Stranger is pissed that Sunny hasn’t faced the truth. In a last ditch effort, he offers Mari an basil mortality-free tour of Blackspace, to hopefully trigger canon events. Omori, being his usually baby bitch-boy self, then gets a surprise visit from Stranger, who (example of me throwing in fanon headspace lore) actually used to have the role of Omori before Sunny created him. The Little Baby Bitch-(Omori)Boy™️ then uses an old threat, aaand effectively declaring war. The entire work was 120 chapters, theoretically between 240,000 - 360,000 words.

I found drabbles in a sketchbook, school notes, and 15% of a sketchbook solely summarizing the entire plot, and background information.

What it is in a nutshell:

Wally from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Your secondary rival. He shows up at the beginning, asking your dad for help, so your dad tells you to help him catch a Pokemon. Then you battle him twice (I think), and then he gets ahead of you (based on the easy-to-miss gym completion plaques). After your main rival gives up, Wally is the one to greet you at the end of Victory Road with a fully-formed team.

I just wish he was more involved in the story.

He also shows up in the postgame of later games and has an arc in Pokemon Masters (the gacha game) where he gets too competitive and has to re-learn how to battle for fun. I haven't played Masters in months, though.

He would probably be a great friend and rival to Amane (or I just like that they both have green hair.)

Gin Ibushi from Your Turn To Die. Canonically an autistic cat boy. He ends every sentence with "meow" or "woof". He wears a patterned hood that covers his neck and makes viewers think that he doesn't have a collar. He gives the protagonist a much-needed morale boost.

He would probably be great friends with Amane.

Adair from Long Live the Queen. I like experimenting with how all of Adair's routes go along with the other moving parts of the game. Apparently, before the Steam update, he didn't even have a character portrait. But now there are several cute moments if Elodie chooses to marry him during the game. They catch frogs in the garden after he moves in. If Elodie's dad dies, they solemnly play in the garden. (The future queen and king, two orphans playing in the dirt)

If a civil war happens, his step-mom gets executed. If Elodie brags about it, they are no longer close friends. Dancing with Adair is a great way to cause a civil war... Them pesky nobles and their approval...

Otherwise, it's pretty easy to get the warmer epilogue variant. They're described as "close friends rather than passionate lovers". But you don't get this variant if you don't go the betrothal route. (The other variant is that he's used to being told what to do by his seniors, so he just goes along with what Elodie says.)

I dunno how well he would get along with Amane, but considering that he's a kid surrounded by adults, they'd probably get along to some degree.

Ken Amada from Persona 3. The youngest member on the team. One of the team members accidentally killed his mom (by losing control of the persona, I think), so Ken is out for revenge. But then the team manages to talk him down, but then the person he was trying to kill takes a bullet for him anyway. And he's overly hated for that character's death. (He made it to the semifinals of "Y'all Hate Kids" tourney.)

He would probably be great friends with Amane. In a different timeline, if he ended up in Milgram... uh... *looks at Amane* *looks at "Y'all Hate Kids" tourney*

Shoma Enda from AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative. Classmate of Mizuki Okiura/Date. Has a crush on her, though he gets over it in the years to come. Very crafty with gadgets. Joins an existential cult. Has his DNA modified to age very slowly, so he looks the same six years later. Has a strained relationship with his dad but loves him deep down. The father/son route is sadly not canon ;____; so he does not make up with his dad, who instead becomes the victim of a serial killer.

He's out for revenge. Too bad someone else in the family beat him to the revenge.

He would probably be besties with Amane.

Basil from Omori. (I'm out of space, and he's actually 16 in the real world, but I think he deserves a mention because I felt for him.) In Headspace, he's trying to warn Omori about a suppressed memory but goes missing and gets killed repeatedly. In the real world, he's so wracked with guilt for what he did four years ago, and he gets bullied by his former friends.

What he did four years ago was frame Mari's death as a suicide when Sunny accidentally pushed her down the stairs.

Choose to stay inside, and Omori protects Headspace Basil at the cost of real Basil's life. Face the truth, and Omori kills Headspace Basil for real. And then it's up to Sunny to talk down the real Basil from suicide.

If Sunny and Basil were in Milgram, I dunno how it would end. But I'd forgive them. And maybe it's wishful thinking, but I think Amane would have an honest conversation with them and try to make them feel better.

Since mod is offering hot takes I’d like to know what in your opinion is most likely to be the actual ending. Not by what you’ve read on the internet but judging from your own thoughts and your own experiences with these kinds of feelings. Do you genuinely believe Sunny would head out to talk to his friends? Do you think it all would be enough to get him to confront his past? Or do you think he’s more so destined to stay locked up in his bedroom and his dreamworld?

honestly, not until sunny starts healing from everything that happened. he didn’t leave the house for 4 years even though kel never stopped trying to check in on him. even if all his friends received the truth well and didn’t hold it against him, that severe habitual isolation doesn’t go away overnight. maladapted coping mechanisms that arise from ptsd, especially ones that overtake your personality, take a tremendous amount of willpower to overcome. he would need years of working through the trauma in therapy.

he wasn’t ever a sociable kid, he was sort of awkward and uncomfortable around other people. mari was the one who helped him make friends, and you can see throughout the photo albums that he got more comfortable around them. its terrible that she had to die in that way because not only is mari not there to support him anymore, but the guilt is driving him into total isolation.

because i understand him well, i can identify that a lot of this is explained by schizoid personality disorder. (one thing this criteria list i attached below doesn’t explain well is the description “desires” nor “enjoys”. the misconception comes from, by nature of the disorder, being unresponsive to therapists, and often they may outright say they don’t want relationships because they’ve given up. it definitely presents that way though, and sunny definitely presents that way, with dropping out of school and not responding to kel’s attempts to help him.

i needed to clear this up because otherwise id get a bunch of people who don’t understand the disorder going “but he had friends when he was younger!”)

(authors note: i love the flat affect representation because i never see that in media) (another side note: i love the juxtaposition of sunny’s flat affect and omori’s extreme emotions. its very accurate to someone who is terrified of showing emotions due to a trauma that involved them)

luckily, moving out of the house that mari died in will be really good for him. and moving towns will also help him learn how to go outside again, because he no longer has the extra hurdle of worrying about seeing his old friends like he did for years before he told them the truth. he has space to sort through his feelings at his own pace without the unintentional pressure sunny felt because of his friends (ahem, kel) who were just trying to help and wanted him to be happy.

after finally getting the weight off his chest about the truth, he has a good start on confronting the past. there will be ups and downs, but i believe in him.

in the bad ending, yes. but in the true ending he accepted and embraced omori, the part of himself he thought was irredeemable, the part of him he was in his own psychological civil war with. (jfc this visual made me cry.)

 i know this isn’t a fluffy feels good answer and it made people mad when i answered this in a fandom server haha... but its realistic. to gloss over the painful truth of this game is to flat out disrespect the themes it portrays. this game is a tragedy, its not pleasant, but that’s what its like when you go through trauma and debilitating mental illness. its not realistic to just have one conversation in the hospital and all of a sudden everyone lives happily ever after. his friends will need time to process the truth as well.

but! i believe in everyone to resolve everything that they went through. they can bond through their shared pain and understanding each others perspectives, and i know they’ll come out the other side stronger.

EDIT: I JUST REALIZED you asked if the real world events of the game were realistic. yeah fr when he left his house and stayed out all day and then did it again thrice i was like ok he built different... i could never

but if kel was knocking on sunny’s door every day since he learned sunny was moving, then it is a possibility sunny would give it a chance and would have built up the courage after a while because ���im moving in 3 days so why not”.

EDIT 2: so i’m playing the hikikomori route and i like af that the player gets that choice. so far, this route is accurate too. i highly recommended playing both routes.

UA's pride and joy. Praised to be the best class UA had made in ages. Class 2-A was a dream team, especially the newest "Big Three" comprised of Izuku Midoriya, Todoroki Shoto, and Katsuki Bakugo.

But it was all ground to a halt by the bloodiest terrorist attack in Japanese history, the High Moon Demon Corps bloodiest attack.

In a violent fight that stretched the entire Chiba prefecture, 22 professional heroes died in the line of duty, with an additional 54 taken out of commission.

And when the smoke cleared, thousands of bodies littered the streets. Most important were the corpses of Miruko, Suneater, and Edgeshot, their legs torn off and heads mashed into a fine paste. And the mangled but still breathing body of Izuku Midoriya.

The government of Japan is faced with their faults and their isolationist style, UA forced to temporarily close due to the loss of over 30% of their hero students. This is where it all starts, this is the end of the era of heroes.
