Alastor to mallory:Who needs a useless mom while she got me?couldn't even protect her daughter!

Mallory:*pulls imogen towards her and shoves a cross at alastor* "who's been here since day one,who's been faithful as a nun? The one who makes you chuckle when you're feeling down,that's right it's mee!"

*imogen smiles and nods*

Mallory:"I'm your pal your day to day,your one and and only mother. That takes care of your mental health?oh right,that's me!"

Mallory stares at alastor:"why would a sadist be a good father?why would she love you after what you did?she hates you now so why even bother?it's really obvious that you're a terrible fatherrrrrr"

*same music playing scene*

Alastor:"they say when you're looking for assistance,it's smart to pick the path of least resistance"

Mallory:"others say that in your needy hour,there no substitute for pure,MOTHERLY POWER(here,her hatred for alastor is so strong her plant powers come back)who just happens to also be your blood,and sadly there are times a step parent is a dud!they say the family you're born is better"

Alastor:"what a bunch of losers"

Mallory:"can you butt out of my song?"

Alastor:"your song I started this!"

Mallory:"I'm singing it I finish it!"

Alastor:"oh you tacky piece of sh-"

Scar and Grian go on a mission to retrieve information. Considering that they somewhat recently confessed their feelings to each other, they’re not too focused on the mission.

“How’s this for a first date?” Scar says, a little too loudly and cheerfully for the situation they’re in.

Grian elbows him, “this isn’t a date.”

“It sure feels this way!”

Grian shoots him a withering glare, “keep quiet. If we get caught it’d be both of our heads.”

“As I said, one hell of a first date!” Scar replies, enthusiasm not fading one bit, but he does get a little quieter.

“I hate you,” Grian mutters, peering around the corner.

“Sure, sure,” Scar answers, unconvinced. “If you truly hated me, you wouldn’t have agreed to go out on a date.”

“I agreed to go on a date later, not the next time we’re alone together.” Grian counters, leaving the nook they were hiding in. He leads them deeper into the building, keeping his movements silent. Not that it matters since Scar doesn’t seem to care about being silent.

“I don’t know why you seem so opposed to this, G.”

Grian feels his face heat up at the nickname, “because nothing about this is romantic?” He manages to keep his tone even and not flustered.

“I beg to differ,” Scar says, wrapping an arm around Grian’s waist.

He barely manages to suppress the urge in him to attack Scar at the sudden touch. Instead, Grian just pulls his hand off him, pretending he didn’t enjoy it as much as he did. “We need to be fully focused on this mission,” he hisses sternly.

“I am focused!” Scar counters.

Grian glances at him, confirming that Scar very much isn’t focused. On the mission, that is, considering that he’s staring at Grian. He quickly looks ahead again, forcing himself to not blush.

Grian freezes when he hears people talking, glancing around for a hiding spot. The acts the moment he sees a door, grabbing Scar and pulling him through it. It’s only as he steps in does he realizes what it is. With no time left to find a better spot, Grian pulls Scar into the storage closet with him and closes the door. It is an incredibly tight space.

“Well hello there,” Scar murmurs, voice barely louder than a breath, although perfectly audible to Grian since they’re practically pressed against each other.

“H-hey,” Grian replies, a little breathless, all thoughts of the mission gone from his head due to how close Scar is to him.

Grian can barely make out the smirk on Scar’s face when he realizes the effect he has on Grian. Scar slowly reaches a hand up to gently grab Grian’s chin. He inhales shakily but lets Scar tilt his head up a little. He stays perfectly still as Scar slowly leans down, giving Grian plenty of time to push him away, and presses their lips together.

Grian unfreezes at the kiss, reaching up and grabbing onto Scar’s shirt and pulling him closer. Scar wraps his other arm around Grian in response. Not one to let someone else take control, he moves one hand up into Scar’s hair. He gives a light tug, causing Scar to gasp. Grian immediately takes advantage and slips his tongue into his mouth. Grian is too busy thoroughly exploring to parse what the sounds Scar’s making means, outside of them being from enjoyment.

They break apart much too soon, in Grian’s opinion, breathing heavily. The moment he catches his breath, he leans back up to kiss Scar again, but the other pulls back. “Scar?” He whispers, barely suppressing his desperation.

“I think the cost is clear,” he murmurs back, his low tone sending shivers down Grian’s spine.

Grian flushes when he understands what Scar said. After everything he said about Scar needing to focus on the mission, he’s the one who gets distracted. Scar chuckles at his frustrated groan.

OMMMGGG mission date >:3c this is so good.. Nothing better than a good ol make out sesh while on a mission LOL love love

If it’s okay to ask, is Karkat still moirals with Gamzee in your universe, out of the picture or just the weird fun uncle who comes around and plays with the kids? Same with Terezi or June and Roxy! Are they family friends?

As for Gamzee, I hate how they handled him in the epilogues/ homestuck2, so I’d like to give him some sort of redemption, everyone deserves to be happy 😭 but I haven’t really thought about how he’d fit in my au.

June and Roxy are there!! I haven’t really fleshed out what they do with their new lives but they made a brief appearance in a little comic I made where they discussed DirkJake bringing in Donny.

Other little tidbits: June just chills at home most of the time but she and the other beta kids get together and have game night when they can :)

Roxy, Karkat, and Kanaya work out/ do yoga together lol

I think Eizan would have a nice singing voice, it'd be quite deep and imagine him singing in English + bonus headcanon : he loves singing in the shower but hates when other hear him sing and Nene once heard him sing and when she's in proximity to him she snickers and says "Great voice you got there" and he gets so flustered (I love Nene being a teasing person, it contrast a bit with her seriousness and I like it)

Anon, my best friend actually also proposed the idea once that Eizan might actually be able to sing but in a different scenario. She just crashed into the what’s app chat like usually and was like: “Ommmggg, Lea...listen!!”

Within the Next Gen...verse(?), Nene is basically the mother with the highest Lullaby count and it was a pretty established thing that she sung her sons to sleep. But there’s one evening where she comes home late, so Eizan has to take over and, to put it in her words, “the kids don’t expect anything but it’s actually cute”! 

I like the shower scenario a lot though, thank you for sharing it :D

"Why aren't you fighting back, you coward!" Grian spat at him.

Scar was in terrible shape, with his lip bleeding, his cheek cut, and one of his ankles looked like it was sprained.

"That's the goal, dove" he laughed, no humor hiding behind it. "The goal is to get you to kill me."

That made Grian pause in his tracks, seemingly trying to process whatever he said.

"...What?"

"Voids above, I knew you were dumb, but this dumb?" The villain looked at him incredulously. "Why do you think I've been trying to make you hate me?"

"You weren't trying," he said, his voice filled with held-back anger, "your existence is enough to make me want to end you."

"So why aren't you? Ending my life, I mean," The villain inquired.

"Why aren't you killing the person who murdered your friend? Why aren't you killing the one person you know who stabbed your sister? Why won't you kill the person whose boss disrespects your Watchers?" Scar continued

Ironically enough, the silence that followed after that was deafening.

The hero huffed, anger seeping through their tones when they said "I don't know! I'm supposed to kill you and shit, but why can't I kill you?!"

"WHY ARE YOU SO SET ON ME KILLING YOU?!?!"

"BECAUSE I FUCKING LOVE YOU, YOU SELFISH PRICK!"

Silence.

"...No. No, no you don't love me-"

"And how would you know that, pretty bird?"

A pause, Grian's face filled with shock and/or guilt, Scar's face blank save for a few tears flowing down his cheeks.

"...I do love you. And I'm trying to protect you." Scar sighed.

"From what?"

"From me." He sucked a breath in before continuing, " I was cursed to only die by your blade. Cursed by the Watchers themself."

"Not answering my question, bozo,"

"Oh my god, fine! I'm a monster, cursed by (said important figure), because I'm in love with you! YOU are the reason why you're about to kill me! You wanna know why? Because my stupid father decided to be an asshole towards your Watcher and now I have this curse that whoever I fall in love with will kill me!"

"No! I'm- I won't kill you!" Grian dropped their blade in horror, backing away from the villain.

"Oh, my dear," he grabbed the sword, and made direct eye contact with Grian. "Who said I needed you to kill me?"

And stabbed himself.

Also, Scar basically dies because he lost too much blood on the way to the hospital.
