THANK UUU omg. I am gonna start with Laios because I have such a clear version of how he is in my head. I have nsfw hcs too but I’ll include them in a separate post if you want! These will just be sfw and more modern au geared

Laios is 100% a furry I…can’t even deny. he definitely sees himself as some like super cool timber wolf with icy blue eyes and platinum fur (or wolf/hunting dog mix) but everyone thinks he should be a Samoyed or something

okay i’m finally going to explain why i was breeding for a mild eevee in emerald yesterday

so. last year when i had covid i replayed leafgreen to pass time, and i opted to use jolteon on my team. he just so happened to be mild nature and also have maximum base power HP water which is crazy good for coverage (hits ground types immune to thunderbolt for super effective damage)

suffice to say egg quickly became the star of my team, and he naturally became level 100 as a result of leading with him while grinding levels thru exp share on other pokemon (i was making a living dex of all mons i could obtain on a single copy of leafgreen)

then much more recently i started a replay of xd gale of darkness, and even though flareon has a reputation of being not great especially in gen 3, and despite xd being a generally more difficult pokemon game, i decided to run it for the bit and also bc. i have matching plushies of jolteon and flareon with my qpp irl and their names are egg and toast. so i was like i can have toast in gen 3 too! :D

and he also just so happened to be mild nature???? the first eevee i got was modest but -attack is REALLY bad for flareon and because i knew i needed all the help i could get on this flareon, i decided to reset until i got a nature that wasn’t -attack… and literal first reset i got a mild eevee again lol, so i was like omg they’re matching and moved on

for the record flareon actually ended up working out pretty well, you get the charcoal item fairly early on into XD and with fire blast and the +spa nature, toast was still nuking enemies left and right, plus he has physical coverage to boot (ended up with double edge and shadow ball on his moveset)

anyway i need to grind mt battle in xd for a shitton of pokecoupons to get all the special berries from the shop there, and i was indecisive on what to use for my team. the npcs max out at level 70, and you can bring level 100s, so it’s not like i need a particularly competitive team, and egg is my current only level 100 on my new gen 3 saves, so i decided i would definitely bring him. then i decided to level toast to 100 to match and bring him too. and then i was like hmm i feel like i should have one more pokemon… what about vaporeon to complete the trio??

so entirely for the bit. i bred an eevee with mild nature to match the other two. to get a vaporeon named Coffee that will be used for mt battle grinding LMAO

it took 89 eggs jesus christ but i got him. i’m still getting him to level 100, it’s a slow grind lol, even with the trade exp boost from moving him to leafgreen. he has wish as an egg move because WHY NOT.

and yeah that’s the explanation. the mild breakfast brothers. they are going to destroy xd’s mt battle

Thank youuu! Guys i promise I'm still working on this behind the scenes, I just really wanted to finish my ogerpon head so I was focusing on that.

As for interviews, I know I said previously that Akari would be uncomfortable with Cynthia upon getting back initially (because Volo) but once everyone is reintroduced and the drama of omg Kieran is alive has passed, Cythia would actually reach out with questions to both Akari and Ingo. I think Akari would go back to Sinnoh for a bit with Carmine (because she is sticking to that kid like glue) as a request from Cynthia to help clear up some misunderstandings on the pokedex and gain clarity on certain misconceptions they had about that time period.

The Spiritomb question would be hilarious because in SV they're just sort of...there lurking in ruins. So hearing " no yeah they're an amalgamation of 100 malevolent human souls" or whatever is insane, on the level of Phantump is the soul of a child who got lost and died in the woods. There has to be some sort of ethics behind how the greater public handles and treats pokemon who were supposedly once human.

Akari calls their Spiritomb Vessa for obvious reasons but like, do all the spirits merge into one being or is it just a mishmash of the souls of the damned screaming in eternal anguish? Spiritomb as a concept is terrifying.

But Akari would definitely be able to answer questions they have about the pokemon of the region and their more natural habitats before numerous settlements displaced them. Like there's some Hisuian pokemon present in the Terrarium in the DLC, so there has to be some sort of preservation or breeding initiative in place for extinct variants. Akari would know exactly where they lived, what they ate etc and have actual notes on it, so the chances of them finding preserved remains of these pokemon have significantly gone up.

Not to mention the variants they'd have brought back, along with Ingo. Alpha pokemon in particular were considered a bit of a myth so having literal alpha pokemon present confirming yes these things used to get this big in the wild would open a whole new area of study because HOW. And then there's the evolution of modern pokemon battling from battling wild pokemon and trying not to die, that's a whole thing to get used to again. Im sure there's regulations for a reason, stay behind the line for the trainer's own safety but in a controlled enviornment like what Ingo fostered with his path of solitude, it would be neat to see a different branch of competative battling being fostered similar to how HEMA differs from modern fencing.

But having access to one of the people who helped make the original pokedex would be such an exciting experience for that corner of academia because seriously, "how was porygon present in Hisui" "oh yea it came in a space time rift and i found these cable things during those too and thats how i could evolve haunter" would be WILD.

Doctor Who, but Chronologically 29ish

Fun fact! When we started this project, some Whittaker episodes did not exist, and we’ve skipped one! So Let’s hastily go back in time to 1807. We’ve just seen Tennant make eyes at Madame de Pompadour, we’re about to see Capaldi finally be a good guy and take Bill to the last London Ice Fair. Where are we this episode?

China! 1807 China, a little fishing village that gets annihilated by Sea Devils.

I was rooting for this episode, you know. It sounded great. The guest cast is smoking hot – when Crystal Yu turned up as Mistress Ching the Pirate Queen, I said “Oh no” aloud. When Arthur Lee turned up as Legendary Pirate Ji-hun, Steff said “Oh no” aloud. We are bisexual and week. Also, return of Sea Devils! And a Chinese episode! The TARDIS team is Whittaker, Yaz and Dan! Sounds great!

It’s crap. It’s just crap.

Good points: the banter between the characters is lovely, and I laughed many times. I suspect this is an actor-director. The start makes clear something I already suspected from the Flux stuff we’ve seen – that Dan is actually Yaz’s companion, not the Doctor’s. There’s a very fun scene where they all step out of the TARDIS, and Dan is dressed like a pirate. “What are you wearing?” the Doctor asks, incredulous. “Yaz told me to!” protests Dan. “Yaz!” says the Doctor. “Did you dress Dan in that?” Love it.

The sci-fi plot is okay. The Sea Devils have Team Aqua’s plan to flood the world and make more habitat for Pokemon Sea Devils, which they aim to achieve by swapping the magnetic polarity of the Earth’s poles. “I see!” exclaims a character. “That’s why all the constellations physically changed in the sky!”, a sentence that gave me 50 points of psychic damage and necessitated a quiet lie down.

The absolute worst part is that, continuing a grand tradition of Doctor Who writers trying to use Sea Devils, Silurians or Ice Warriors, these writers didn’t understand the story they were telling. We therefore ONCE AGAIN have an allegory of native people trying to commit genocide to reclaim their stolen lands and needing to be stopped. I am 100% certain that was not intentional, but fucking hell, lads.

But the second worst part is that this episode is absolutely atrociously badly shot. It is appalling. I spent half the episode trying to fucking see, because even in static scenes of two people talking to each other and not moving, the camera would just… slide off the characters, even while they are talking. And this is our second swashbuckling pirate episode featuring swordfights where they didn’t bother getting a choreographer, apparently, and thought they could make up for it by putting the camera in a bag and swinging it about in a windmill to cover the gaps.

At two separate points, two separate scenes, the Doctor offers a hand to Yaz to pull her somewhere. In both, the hand is partially-to-entirely out of shot, making the action unclear. And that is a problem, because THIS IS A DOCTOR/YAZ SHIPPING EPISODE HOLY SHIT????

It turns out Yaz has talked to Dan about this, and he has possibly talked to the Doctor, because there’s a lovely bit where Yaz fully embraces the Useless Lesbian Trope and begs him for details (“What did you say to her?? What did she say to you??? Omg tell me her exact words –“). Towards the end, while the Doctor saves the day and Yaz as ever fails the Sexy Lamp Test, the Doctor gives her a heartfelt confession.

“I can’t do relationships,” she says. “There’s no time. But if I ever did, it would be you. I’ve never felt like this, not since my wife, and I was a different man then.”

PLOT TWIST!!!!! Whomst is her wife??? How exciting. What mysteries are arising this episode.

Interesting, though, because so far, as nice as Yaz is, she’s super bland. Just nothing to her. Even episodes where she’s appeared hyper competent, she’s actually just been doing pointless busy work; she routinely fails the Sexy Lamp Test as standard. I wonder why her? Intriguing. Perhaps she will improve.

Anyway, at the end of the episode they agree to just stay friends and mutually Yearn for each other, and then the Doctor skims a stone INCREDIBLY badly (no srsly tho Jodie does Huddersfield not have a river or something you have to get LOW)

“She” (an unknown person) is returning (perhaps River returned as Missy. Maybe Me? Maybe Clara???!)

My main OCs are Skia and Damian, twins that were born in Celestic Town of Sinnoh region. Their maid is Lottie (who Skia likes to pester) then turned guardian when their father went to a business trip and never came back. After becoming their proper guardian, they moved to Unova at the age of six and pretty much lived most of their lives there before becoming a Pokemon trainer and embark on their own journey.

Skia is the PRANKSTER of the house and surprisingly cool-headed, mischievous and carefree demeanor. She tends to overlook consequences, particularly when engaging in her playful pranks. Despite her carelessness and the negative impressions it leaves, some people find her mischievous nature amusing. When it comes to battles, she shows little to no effort to those she sees as "new opponents" (she just doesn't like going all out at the start of battle), but when she does get serious... Oh boy her battling escalates from 0 to 100 so quick it baffles her opponents. Surprisingly, she's a huge crybaby, but she's a master at hiding her emotions, masking it with her off-the-wall nature. An anemic child, so she tends to be "lazier" as to not get her nody too worked up or else she'll be found collapsed on the bed.

Damian is the one that would burst with emotions. He might be quick to react emotionally in certain situations but generally maintains a relaxed and easygoing attitude. He’s a hothead that can be reserved and chill with people, laid-back and is not ashamed to pull some pranks either. Damian is not shy about pulling pranks, but his "goody-two-shoes" appearance often misleads others. Despite his laid-back demeanor, he can be just as mischievous as his twin. Where Skia is the sneaky, he's the impulsive. Damian is passionate and emotionally transparent, when he experiences intense feelings, whether positive or negative, he readily puts his emotions on display. Damian doesn't shy away from sharing his feelings, especially when it comes to significant moments or challenges, unlike his sister who deals with intense emotions in a more silent and internalized manner.

So hot take but I don't really feel too strongly about most of the legendaries 💀 I seem to be more of a sub-legendary and mythical pokemon fan by happenstance, so I'm just gonna expand my response with them since I'm more interested in them.

Strictly Legendary:

I like Lugia and Mewtwo because of their respective movies, but I honestly think I'm most attached to Cosmog by a long shot. I don't have too much of an articulate answer behind as to why other than Gen 7 really nailed the landing with creating an attachment to the curious lil' thing and I love it so much :') I just love its personality, and would 100% love to keep it as a little pet and yell at it to get in the bag. xD

Sub-Legendary:

THIS THING. THIS THING GAVE ME HELL CATCHING IT IN MY FIRST D/P PLAYTHROUGH AND IT MADE ME WANT IT SOOOOOO BAD LOOOL

I really, really, really loved the concepts behind the lake trio and what they represented, and was particularly drawn to Mespirit at the time (although Uxie lowkey has the best cry). Nowadays the trio is almost neck-and-neck even, tbh.

I also have thoroughly enjoyed Ogerpon - she's the only legendary I've actually opted to use in my main team throughout all the gens because I got attached and didn't like the other grass pokemon options.

Blacephalon is also a weird take I can't explain. I love the chaos and variety of colors in its design. It just seems very chaotic and strange as is. OH, AND THE DOG TRIO FROM JOHTO. AND LATIOS AND LATIAS. GOD I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM IN EVERY MEDIA.

Mythical:

OOOOH this one is VERY close because I love, love, love the mythicals apparently. Celebi's connection to time, the movie, THE GAMES, and the overall atmosphere behind it is just 110% my kind of personal aesthetic lmao. Like I'd love to have this little fairy are you kidding me???

Shaymin is a very very close second. I love how it has two forms and love its connection to nature. My connection to this pokemon in particular also grew because I associate it with the late memory of someone close to me who passed away. I think of them with this pokemon, so it holds an extra sentiment.

Otherwise I really really really also love Mew (fight me) and Jirachi is awesome because WISHES??? Bangers.

Strictly Legendary:

Helloooo Gen 5 fans LMAO. I really feel like there's a lot of unspoken poetry between Kieran & the player with Reshiram/Zekrom parallels. I could honestly see Kieran holding either legendary relatively well from a symbolic standpoint, but Zekrom seems to fit him a bit more imo. He's quite motivated through his ideals to find a truth he wants to see - whether it be "the Ogre being misunderstood" before it was verified, his concepts for what makes a capable trainer and respectable or valued person, and his desires to prove himself. He gets a little too lost in his visions to the point where they cloud his perception and his judgement is ultimately soured; he's desperate to compete and externals it on the player, but in reality he's competing with the standard of an ideal he thinks he himself should be.

Sub Legendary:

I don't mean to pull too much from the lake trio with this post, but honestly, I feel like a lot of Kieran's journey and character arc can be summed up with his enduring willpower. Whether he's motivated through passion, spite and envy, or through his desire to correct his wrongdoings, Kieran really grows into his own because of how much he prioritizes his fire and determination.

Mythical:

Bit of an indescribable take for me but I'm oddly drawn to Marshadow for the mythicals - especially for Teal Mask Kieran. I think it just really symbolizes more of his timid dispositions and more gentle personality underneath everything his edgieness LOL, I guess? And there's something that speaks to me in terms of having him honor that side of him and learn to embrace it - especially alongside the other picks I listed.

This was fun!! I hope these answers were entertaining. :)

I did my best, not very confident in my characterization of Milo by any means, and most of these are silly, but I hope I did him justice :’)

You honestly should make up a rewrite for Pokemon Journeys, cause I know whatever your ideas are, they will be 100% better than what Journeys actually did

WAHHHH omg that's so flattering..... but as nice as that is to hear for my ego, I honestly don't envy the writing team. I'm totally convinced that like, at least 40% of the issue was ash still being on the show right after sun and moon. there really was not much they could do with him except... bide time for ash vs leon I guess. It's why I don't mind the show having more Goh content because there's less history with the character, so they're able to do more with him.

If it were up to me though and I was working with the "Ash and Goh go around the world, and by the end, Ash has to become world champion", I think these are the general changes I would make:

Galar is the home base, not Kanto. There's no reason for it to be Kanto in the original, except for Pokego advertisement, which is stupid.

This way, while we still go to other regions and whatnot, Galar gets the most focus. We can even keep the Mew thing, have Goh and Chloe travel from Galar to Kanto in the first flashback episode (like how Serena did from Kalos) and Goh's always been fascinated by it and traveling the world as a result.

Retain the serialized format from the previous seasons. Probably not the best way to phrase it because Journeys is very much still serialized, but it feels.... unfocused. It feels vague. Things just kinda happen in a few episodes and besides a few story arcs, it doesn't really come together.

And we do that by bringing in all the game rivals because CMONNNN

Rose can be more involved in the world championship plot. Bede too because it's so weird that they went out of their way to replace him in the Darkest Day with Some Guy.

We can probably move the galar starters away from Goh honestly. Maybeee give Ash Grookey and Sobble to Hop. Or Goh can keep Sobble and Scorbunny both really

Just some scattered thoughts on how I'd probably apporach it ^^

i think what i like about the silver giovanni connection so much is how well it connects johto + kanto story wise. johto to me is still a very undeveloped and lowkey forgotten region unfortunately but silvers character is easily the shining part of the region. i also think it’s cool how he’s also connected to red (or leaf) due to the whole reason giovanni abandoning him being because of red/leaf’s defeat of team rocket, ultimately crushing his ego lol - just one big butterfly effect that i thoroughly enjoy :p and as stated in my post, i like despite how hard he tried not to be, silver was quite similar to his dad until the events of the the johto story. seeing his growth makes me so happy 🤧🤧🤧✨

I totally agree with the concept that in a pokemon based our life au cove and mc would catch each other pokemon but here's my thought. Not sobble or wishi-washi but what about a young cove telling mc his favorite flower is the white poppies like in the original game. And young mc remembers and goes out of their way to catch him a white flower flabèbè. And little MC tells cove, "I know moving somewhere can be scary but now you have another friend for when I can't be with you." And cove treat the flabébé with like the up most care will very rarely have it actually battle but is always in his party (with exp. share ofc). He can never bring himself to evolve the pokemon even if mc reassures him that they wouldn't mind. (Imagine battling cove wiping out the rest of his team only to face off against a lol 100 flabébé. RIP ur team). And when one day cove asks you to marry he sends his flabébé to get bring you to him on poppy hill. Instead of proposing with the the flower himself he has his pokemon hold the ring. And he says something cheesy like, "You were my first friend and you gave me my second friend. You've always looked out for us and we both love you." But yeah come would move heaven and earth for that pokemon just because mc went through all that effort and we know he's the most sentimental man on earth.

Side note- I could totally see like a 13 year old Lizze ironically gifting cove a Sobble for his birthday. Like just a pokeball in a box with a note that says, "A cry baby lizard for my sister's cry baby boyfriend". But secretly she hopes they get along and that he likes it but Liz can never resist being a little mean.

Jack:

- Has amnesia! Woke up in this region only remembering his name, Jack- the frost was added when he became an Elite 4. He had a Froslass with him but nothing else. (Same Froslass that's on his team now!)

- You would t h i n k that, with him having ice types and Hiccup having dragon types which are all weak to ice, he'd be able to beat Hiccup more often than not. But nope, neither of them have actually been able to beat the other- either they end up tying, or something interrupts them mid-battle and they have to stop. Every time. Without fail.

- 100% sees Jamie as a little brother and Also Rapunzel as a little sister. He doesn't remember his life, if he has any family, so he's sticking with the people he's got

- Has an utterly massive crush on Hiccup that so far only Rapunzel is aware of. She Is Trying to get him to just talk to the boy

- Jack's Baxcaliber was a gift from Hiccup! They went and caught it together, very nice bonding time

- Both Ice types and Ghost types flock to him, but he vibes with Ice types more so they're what he uses professionally. Still has a lot of ghost types in his personal pokemon tho!

- Was actually the top trainer for the Ice gym in the region (more on that later) before Jamie became champion and threw out the old Elite 4 to make his own ones! The Gym leader refused because he didn't want to, so Jack was asked next (and we know Jack can't say no to Jamie) and trained up for it

Omg now that I think about it Jack and Hiccup would totally end up flirting on accident during battles lol
