VIVANT war mit ABSTAND das beste Drama das ich in den letzten zehn Jahren gesehen habe. Es war absolut perfekt von Anfang bis Ende. Ich bin sowas von am Ende

Other than Hanzawa Naoki and maybe 花のない花屋 I think VIVANT is one of the best dramas Japan has ever created I absolutely loved it beginning to end.

Honestly I think the fact that they left the BL undertones between Nogi and Kurosu and made Nozaki basically canonically gay alone make this such a milestone. It’s worth watching for that alone.

THE SECENE WHERE

The scene the scene where Kurosu?? And Nogi?? Are in Nogis quarters and Kurosu SHMASHES Nogi against the wall and lays his head on his chest and then they hug and it’s honestly they could have kissed and it wouldn’t have made the scene more intimate I love Kurosu so much

It took a million hours but after being stopped by replaying The Kurosu Scene way too many times as well as a Nozaki scene, I finally.... finally finished my first rewatch of the final episode of VIVANT.

And omg I missed more info than I realized when I watched it live with no JPCC..

I'm screaming internally because based on their final lines, which imo fit their usual playful M.O. (and they like messing with people), it actually makes the final shots incredibly suspicious. And I specifically mean the very last shot of them when they turn around after the warm smile.

And then it makes me wonder why they were defending Beppan so much to that one person.

And the scene before the final shot is much more exciting to think about with how it ends. I'll definitely add to my longer post on episode 10.

Something is off! There has to be. This is also such a big sequel bait omg. (Seriously though, one character was a little emotional but why were they so ... not emotional when they saw Nogi? It seems...off....?)

*replays the Kurosu scene again 16391137201 times*

I'm thinking that after I post my final episode post, I'll rewatch the series in a few weeks if I have time! And post reaction posts here after each one bc I'm pretty sure this is going to turn into a whole new viewing experience on many levels.

work count: 1k (i said i’d make these around 500. i guess i lied.)

content warning: fingering, kita shinsuke is husband material, his coworkers and boss stare at you but that's about it.

kita shinsuke, love of my life. i apologize for the inexplicable inarizaki office au. my brain demanded that this quote be used at a work party and i could not refuse.

You had to admit, the outfit was a little more risqué than anything else you owned. It was new and short and low cut. Definitely something Kita would never expect you to wear.

It was just a work party, boring and full of fake laugher and shitty jokes. You couldn’t help yourself in livening up the atmosphere.

Kita was by no means an insecure partner. He knew you were his and he trusted you. He didn’t get jealous. As long as you came home to him at the end of the day, he didn’t care what you did.

So, when you walked into his office building and glanced around for your grey-haired boyfriend, all eyes immediately traveled to you. You walked up to one of his coworkers, a tall man with dark hair whose eyes turned away from his conversation and immediately traveled down from your face.

“Suna, do you know where Shinsuke is?” you asked. He coughed and met your eyes again, gripping his drink a little tighter.

“I think I saw him talking to Kurosu-san,” he said. He rubbed the back of his neck and gestured with his cup to the corner of the room.

You found him quickly, looking handsome in his button-down and loosened tie -- a look that you hadn’t ever seen on him and hoped you would more frequently.

He greeted you with a smile, but you quickly noticed a look of alarm on his face.

“This is my boss,” he said, clearing his throat behind a tightly curled fist.

“Nice to meet you,” you said, shaking Kurosu’s hand. His eyes were wide and very firmly fixed on your face.

“I’ve heard all about you. Kita talks about you frequently.”

You smiled and turned to Kita, grabbing his arm.

“Is that true, Shin?” He inhaled sharply and seemed to be snapping out of a daydream.

“Yep. Probably.”

You laughed and continued your conversation. Kurosu was polite and complimentary. Eventually, other workers joined the conversation to bring drinks, and you realized Kita had been silent for a while. You glanced at him out of the corner of your eye as you took a sip of your drink and were shocked to see his eyes trained on your chest. You smiled and raised your eyebrows. When he finally looked up at you, he jolted a bit, realizing what he had been doing and that you had very, very obviously noticed.

He opened his mouth to speak, then frowned. He put a hand on the small of your back and led you forward.

“Just realized I forgot something in my office, guys. We’ll be right back.”

You smiled and said goodbye and followed Kita up the stairs to his office. It was small and decorated sparsely, save for the bookshelf which was covered in pictures of you and his family. He leaned over his desk, typing on his computer for a moment.

“You’re attracting a lot of attention tonight,” he said. He didn’t look up, but you straightened up immediately.

“I thought you wanted me to come?” you pouted. He smiled and shut down his computer. He crossed the room to you and pressed you up against the door.

“I didn't expect you to come wearing . . . that.” He sighed against your hair, running a hand up your side. You laughed and tipped your head back as he kissed the crook of your neck. He ran his hands up your legs, pushing up the hem of your skirt.

“Everyone had their eyes on you.” He pushed your legs apart and ran his hand over the thin lace that separated you. His motions were passionate but almost delicate, like he was reveling in every movement of your body. “Even Kurosu was giving you the eyes.”

You sighed as he pushed your underwear to the side and slid two fingers inside of you. The motion was easy and gentle and you let out a light moan.

“Don’t talk about your boss,” you said through a breathy laugh. He smiled and finally pressed his lips to yours, breathing in your sighs as he continued moving his fingers inside of you.

“You’re mine though, aren’t you?” he said. He changed the angle and you locked your arms around his shoulders, pressing your forehead against his. “I’m the one that gets to bring you home and appreciate all of the work you put into being this gorgeous.”

He grabbed one of your legs and hiked it up onto his hip, wrapping his arm around it and holding you in place.

“I’m the one that gets to take you apart.” You let out a breathy whimper as he moved a little faster, fingers brushing up into you in the perfect way they always did. He was so careful, so kind, so giving, so -- oh fuck.

You buried your face against his neck and shuddered as you came. You had to crush your lips into his collar to avoid being too loud, but you couldn’t stop yourself from humming an obvious moan in the back of your throat. You panted, then laughed as he set down your leg and rearranged your clothes. You felt for the door handle and realized, to your horror, it was unlocked.

“Do you think anybody heard?” you asked. He rearranged his tie and carded his hands through his hair.

“Nobody’s up here,” he said matter of factly, then grinned. “But with how pink your cheeks are, everybody is still going to know.” You shoved at his chest and he let out an adorable giggle.

“I’m going back out. I don’t care if they know,” you announced, throwing open the door and beginning to leave. You hesitated when he made no move to follow you.

“Are you coming?” you asked. He shook his head and gestured to his lap, where he was very obviously excited.

“I’ll meet you out there.”

You covered your mouth to stifle a laugh.

“Oh my god. Try to relax while I’m gone.”

“I’m getting you back for this at home,” he called as you closed the door.

Some people who know me personally know I practically live in the Jun Kurosu tag-though the over feminizing of him needs to kinda stop? His character is way opposite from these overly feminine and “gay” stereotype depictions. Here’s a reminder of how Jun actually acts instead of “omg hes gay so that must be his entire goddamn personality”.

“Jun's character is defined by his ambiguity. On the outside, he is asocial, introverted, calculating and actively uses his beauty to manipulate other people. On the inside, however, Jun is rather warm, caring, highly protective of his friends and wants to fulfill the dreams and wishes of humanity, even if his means of achieving this goal are questionable.
