so this has been cooking in my head for quite a while now, but i've only just typed it up.

⚠️ cw : internalized homophobia , internalized discrimination against omegas (?) 

can be taken as reader-insert, gender-neutral, but there's one (1) mention of a hypothetical scenario where they have a vagina / ovaries. like 1-2 bullets only, about pregnancy. i'll put it in color red if anyone wants to avoid it. feel free to send me a message on how to word it properly, or if i should change anything

general headcanons

omega. smells like winter pine with a tad of cinnamon and a lingering floral scent. the more pleased he is, the more prominent the floral tones.

no one knows of his dynamic except for his family, and a few high-ranking senior officers and doctors of the guard (including the supreme guardian and pela, a family friend). he’s been raised as an alpha, and everyone in belobog sees him as one.

uses both scent-blocker patches and heat suppressants regularly. it’s a must for any member of the silvermane guards, especially those in the frontlines and on patrols. while his scent normally wouldn’t be a problem, it gets sickeningly sweet during pre-heats, so he has to use the patches. fortunately, he hasn’t experienced any problems with heat suppressants yet.

prefers to spend heats alone. while the original gepard wouldn’t even think of having a vacation for himself, in this verse he’s more likely to do it (whether he wants to or not). at least once a year, he tapers down his heat suppressants to maintain his body’s natural hormone cycle— letting him have his heat. 

he’s ashamed of it, wishes that he was born as something else. but it didn’t matter what he wanted. the people need him to be this indestructible shield for belobog. a powerful alpha, not… whatever he was right now. it’s even worse when he remembers how his sisters were both alphas. why was he the only one burdened with this? he tries not to think about it by drowning himself in work

with an alpha

it takes a while for him to warm up to them. after all, he’s been raised to act like one. he doesn’t want to give in to his instincts. it was a good thing he was pretty disciplined! (read as: used to not getting what he wanted / not being in control of his life)

you need to be a gentle alpha to win this captain’s heart. he still has to come to terms with and be more forgiving of himself. let him touch you freely. explore your scent glands and canines. it gives him a sense of control, making him more relaxed

steals your clothes. yes, even if you’re smaller than him. if you lose an article of clothing, it’s most likely with gepard as he stays at the restricted zone for months. be careful when sending him letters with items like a handkerchief, anything with your scent. he might just go into premature heat (and he’ll be sent home. whether this is a win or not is up for debate)

with a beta

the most comfortable match for gepard. there’s no pressure to conform with the standard alpha/omega partnership. he won’t accidentally go into heat with a you due to lack of a strong scent, and you won’t go crazy when you smell him. he can just be a normal person around you

your lack of strong scent won’t stop him from nuzzling into your scent glands, though. you do have a scent, it’s just a bit.. subtle. not overwhelming like an alpha’s or omega’s— and he’s obsessed with it. like drinking cold water on a hot and humid day, it has no taste but you can’t help but keep drinking it, right? be prepared for a lot of cuddling!! he’ll do anything to get a whiff of you

in my verse… unfortunately, if the beta has a vagina / ovaries / uterus etc. as their reproductive system, they cannot get an omega pregnant. they can get surgery for this, but i imagine it isn’t quite available in jarilo-vi yet

if this is the case, gepard would be quite sad as he wants a family. but maybe after a long talk, he’ll come to accept that there are other methods of having one.

with an omega

gepard appreciates that there’s someone who can understand him. raised in a conservative family (i imagine, have you read “landau’s choice?”), it would bother him first. internally. but he’ll come around later on to accept that he liked you.

afraid of exposing his dynamic at first. would you still accept him? he’s hidden his dynamic all his life. what if you leave him after? would you be disgusted at the idea of him, an omega, liking you, another omega? please be patient with him. he’ll tell you when he’s ready

being with you also makes his alpha upbringing come up. he thinks that you should be protected, and doesn’t mind if you use him as a shield for any other alphas that want you (one of the benefits of appearing as an alpha to the masses)

out of all the relationships/dynamics listed, i think this is the most likely one that doesn’t start off as love. it’s more of a shared comfort or friendship, and gradually becomes something more.

I was reading some of your omegaverse posts earlier (admittedly idk much about the verse but!) and a thought popped into my brain: Alpha Sampo and Omega Darling

Darling who, by adverse circumstances, goes to Sampo for a deal. But he's already had his eye on sweet little darling for a while (and definitely didn't have anything to do with her situation-), so he's delighted that she's chosen to come to him for assistance. He'd be happy to help a dear friend! Surely you'd be willing to help him in kind for his generosity? HSR Men Omegaverse (A/B/O) Scents

To pair with the dynamics headcanons list, I'm going to do a short and sweet one about their scents! Also, this headcanon will be taking some inspiration from @daylightdabbles's Teyvat Omegaverse AU, but is not required to read beforehand!

Rating: SFW Warnings: None Characters: Caelus, Dan Heng, Welt, Gepard, Sampo, Luka, Jing Yuan, Luocha, Blade, Argenti, Dr Ratio, Aventurine + Gallagher Summary: What scents help to identify each of the HSR men?

Scent has always been a bit of an odd topic for CAELUS, considering the stellaron pulsing in his chest. While it doesn't seem to be hurting him, it does affect his scent, though fortunately to not such a degree that it's concerning. All it does, fortunately, is add a burnt note to it, making Caelus smell distinctly of a smore that had been left over the fire a bit too long. His scent isn't really sweet nor earthy, but a compromise between the two, with hints of metal heated by licking flames.

As opposed to being just odd, DAN HENG's relationship with his scent is a bit of a sore subject. Even though the scent is entirely his and not swayed by his environment, there's still notes to it that are reminiscent of the Xianzhou by association. Because of this, he tries to nullify it as much as possible, without completely canceling it out. His scent consists of weathered paper, sea spray, and peach trees.

One of the most comforting scents you can come across belongs to Joachim Nokianvirtanen, also known as WELT. By now, it's a staple of the Astral Express, soothing those that board the express and allowing them a comfortable passage. He smells of sandalwood, warm bread, and hot cocoa. It's not overpowering, but it lingers longer than most.

As a beta, GEPARD's scent carries traces of his beloved home, Belebog, as well as his own identifying scent. The cold sting of wintery air and the lingering of rusted metal is paired with rosemary and chamomile tea. Contrasting Welt, Gepard's scent is very strong, filling one's entire chest, but the bitter cold and winds tend to sweep it away almost the moment he leaves a room.

It's hard to say that SAMPO even has a real scent anymore. He has caked on so many perfumes, colognes, and even scent blockers that it's a weird hodgepodge of different scents, just as chaotic as the Aeon he follows. Depending on the day or placement, you can smell an assortment of spiced and floral scents, with the only constant being the lingering of raspberries and blackberries.

Everyone in The Moles knows that if you're in danger, to follow the scent of grilled steak, as it will inevitably lead to LUKA. Though, grilled steak isn't the only thing he smells like, with it being accompanied by the scents of black pepper and citrus. It's a thick, comforting scent, but has the tendency to make others hungry if they spend too much time around him.

It's fortunate for those working under JING YUAN that he smells not only remarkably pleasant, but that the scent itself isn't overbearing. One can only truly describe his scent as 'clean', often being likened to a windy meadow. Jing Yuan usually smells of a mild breeze, wildflowers, and oranges. Though, whenever he's angry or in the heat of battle, it tends to be darkened by the scent of oncoming rain and storm clouds, as if disturbing the previously still meadow.

Traveling place to place as an omega has meant that LUOCHA's scent has.. wavered, for lack of a better term. Omegas typically smell like home, the things they surround themselves with. That's hard to do when your surroundings change daily. It's caused plenty of alphas and betas alike to be confused and unnerved by him, but other omegas find him quite charming. If you take a deep breath, however, you can make out the airy scent of lilies, polish for his rapier, and the fruity scent of his shampoo.

A long, long time ago, there was a craftsman who was said to have smelled of passion and the forge itself. But that man is long gone, leaving BLADE behind in his wake. While Yingxing's original scent disappeared along with him, Blade finds that he is now identified by the scents of smoldering embers, dew-laden spider lilies, and cinnamon. Whenever he finds himself mara stricken or enraged, the embers flare up, leaving the distinct smell of smoke and hot metal. Though, when he's content, it's said to be a comforting scent.

One of the things ARGENTI prides himself on as a Knight of Beauty is his scent. It stood out from the scents of smoldering rubble and fear that clung to his hometown, but has since been embraced as proof he was meant to follow the Beauty. Not very many alphas have such tender, floral scents as him. He smells of freshly cut roses, an early morning fog, and the heart of a lush forest.

Frankly, DR RATIO doesn't concern himself much with his own scent. It's simply a biological fact to him, it doesn't need any further attention nor dressing up. Though he can't help the flattered feeling that swells in his chest whenever he catches someone swooning over his scent, which tends to linger heavily wherever he goes. Dr Veritas Ratio smells of pomegranate, sandalwood, and buttered toast.

Another person that hides their scent often is AVENTURINE, who never allows his true scent to show. Scents are like facial expressions, they can betray your true intentions, and Aventurine refuses to have anything but a perfect poker face. Hidden under layers of strong colognes and scent blockers, locked away from the public eye and only kept the secrecy of Aventurine's own room, is the scent of vanilla, shea butter, and blueberries.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, GALLAGHER is constantly surrounded by scents, and finds a sense of comfort in their expression. It's said that he even smells like a perfectly blended drink himself, with a sweet but savory blend that seems to take the edge off of most he comes into contact with. Gallagher smells of fresh grapes, strawberry schnapps, and rose.

Gepard

Initially doesn't want to spar not because he doubts his omega's strength, no he just thinks it'd be an unfair fight. Tries to suggest sparing with someone else around their size when they launch themselves at him.

He catches them bewildered by their sudden jump attack and just holds them in his arms for a while before setting them down only to be lunged at again. When he notices it's all just for fun he sighs and lets them go and have their fun launching themselves at him for a bit. Eventually once they've tired themselves out he just kisses their forehead figuring that they must have missed him as a reason for this strange behavior.

Luocha

Agrees to spar though he already knows what's up with his omega from the beginning. It lasts for about 15mins before they start tackling him and he starts dodging their advances. He's not going to let them have what they want without a challenge and he teases them every time they miss catching him.

When he grows a bit bored of dodging he catches them in his arms and keeps them there for a bit before telling them to try and break free which they can't and he laughs a bit as they struggle to get out of his hold. Teases them a bit by nipping at their scent glands before releasing their flustered self and leaving the room for them to chase and get their revenge on. Good luck though, he's fast.

Dan Heng

Agrees to spar with a hint of suspicion at their actions but spars with them properly for a while before his suspicions come true. When they launch themselves at him he dodges their attack normally and dodges every single one after that the same way not letting them have what they want. It's hilarious to see Dan Heng avoid his omega's attacks so seriously.

Keeps dodging them until they get tired and try to change tactics by pretending to be done playing around. He let's them tackle him to the floor with a sigh. He loves them but he'd rather they just say what they wanted to cuddle rather than play around like this. But he can't deny it was fun.

I just thought about omegaverse with gepard and he’s just so determined to be a gentleman that even with alluring scent of his beloved in heat he refuses to give in because they didn’t ask for his assistance prior to their heat and he doesn’t want to take advantage of them! And this annoys omega beloved so much they end up basically dragging him to the nest while he tries to gently persuade them into something else or resist while they’re tryna seduce him.

The thought on gepards mind is how horrifying it would be if they ended up regretting their choice later and lost control and mated them or all the potential consequences that can arise.

But on a more wholesome note i do think he would… assist them in some way. Fingers or mouth perhaps? Or just lets them indulge in his scent and presence to calm their nerves. I do think that gepard as touch starved as he is has a reserve and morality set in STONE! He will gladly assist with your heat directly if you consented beforehand but if not? He won’t risk it!

he is just . . . arhgrhr. gentleman gepard sweating and huffing and desperately fighting off his biological impulse because he's a gentleman, you didn't ask before you went under the influence of your heart--

It had started out like any other chase– Sampo had appeared at an investigation site, Gepard had gone to ask if he had been involved or otherwise a witness, and he bolted. Which meant Gepard gave chase. It was a tired out routine by now. But his duty must be upheld, so he had done his best to keep up despite the lingering heaviness in his bones– which was caused by an entirely different issue. That'd he'd deal with later.

"Look at you, Cap~! Reliable as ever!!" Sampo snickered, hands sliding and locking behind his head. Gepard was rather unimpressed by his flippant behavior, it was his fault they were in this situation to begin with, but there was no use in thinking about that now. Survival was priority.

A glance at the window told him that this storm wasn't going to be over for a while. It made him bristle a little, lip rolling back slightly to bare his fangs in his annoyence. He was quick to snap himself back, grunting under his breath and walking out of the kitchen. He was just lucky Sampo was a Beta, and that they weren't in anywhere that could be considered his territory, or his scent would be driving Gepard mad right now.

Not that he didn't have a scent, everyone had a scent, but being a Beta meant it wasn't nearly as strong as an Omega's or aeons forbid another Alpha's. If it was, Gepard was more likely to have made sure they were safe and then tried to find another place to hide and isolate.

Tempting fate on the verge of his rut was not something Gepard wanted to do.
