Unfortunately, the misinformation has spread too far, and I see it being called "a glitch" almost daily on my dash. On the one hand, it is fantastic that this gave rise to such a wave of awesome arts, but on the other hand, the misinfo is pretty unfair to the game (and imho dismissing ray's work as well but that's my personal pet peeve). Like, you don't even have to credit the creator but at least don't mislabel their edit =<

Please share this post so it reaches everyone who has seen this edit and was curious to know where it's from, confused about it or even believed it to be a simple glitch 🙏

will be reposting some of my old edits here from twitter, starting with this one lol. just to clarify: this is an edited screenshot, not a mod or a glitch. mentioning this because i've seen people assume this handholing arrangement can somehow be replicated in the game itself — and i can't say that's 100% impossible because who the hell knows, but that's definitely not where this picture is from. i just flipped Shadow and put him on the other side, this also isn't how the characters sit on the bench when there's two of them (though i think not being centered fits these two better so that's on purpose).

So I've rewatched the Mario and Sonic 2014 olympics game, and has anyone talked about how kinda bizarre this teamup is??

Like, there's Dry Bowser, Eggman Nega... and then Rouge. She's just there with them, it's really odd. How would this teamup even happen, how much money did they give Rouge to be a part of this??

Also kinda bothers me that in these games, you couldn't unlock the rival characters and play as them whenever after you beat them. You can't put Shadow, Rouge and Omega in the same team in these games, I'm not a fan of that.

The Nintendo eShop (on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U) is about to close in a bit, so I wanted to upload some music (not that it'll cheer us up that is).

Two decades ago, as he awaited Malkin's arrival from Magnitogorsk, Russia, Crosby dared to dream of what they might do together in Pittsburgh. And he dreamed big.

They'd push each other to become not merely great but legendary. They'd resurrect a fledgling franchise and win the Stanley Cup - not just once, either.

They'd become friends along the way.

After a dispiriting 2014 Winter Olympics in his native Russia, Malkin returned to Pittsburgh bereft of confidence. He had found love off the ice at those Games, but his hockey heart was broken by the Russian Federation's failure to medal. He didn't even stick around for the closing ceremony.

Crosby did, having captained Team Canada to a gold medal four years after scoring a Golden Goal when the Olympics were in his homeland.

As the blur of their drastically different experiences in Sochi, Russia, cleared, Crosby noticed Malkin at first retreating, then drifting into darkness as they resumed play for the Penguins. A teammate of Malkin's for eight seasons at the time, Crosby's instinct was not to intervene.

Crosby had grown to understand Malkin a lot better than he had during Malkin's rookie season, when Malkin struggled to communicate with his teammates and assimilate into North America.

They were not yet close, but Crosby knew Malkin was proud and private - shared traits that transcended their differences.

Malkin didn't want to talk about any of it. He also needed to talk to somebody about a specific pain with which Crosby could uniquely empathize.

Crosby decided to sit down with Malkin and talk about it.

"Sid saved me," Malkin said. "Maybe then I'm not know he cares so much about me. After talk, I know we forever like brothers."

A Yuri on Ice canon divergent fic where they’re both in the Olympic Village during the 2014 Winter Games and Yuuri is the guy going viral on social media due to his obsession with the chocolate muffins.

(With apologies to Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen, who has been taking us all on a very amusing journey on TikTok)

Viktor, reigning champion of going viral on social media during the Olympics for (but not limited to): being an obsessive dog dad, being GORGEOUS, being friendly with everyone and showing up in the background of multiple parties, the orgy rumour (fake), the other orgy rumour (not fake but super overblown), winning two consecutive golds in 2006 and 2010, walking outside shirtless (it was 5 degrees Celsius so not even cold), and currently for being in many of the Sochi Games ads.

But then the tags are being taken over by this very cute man eating a choccy muffin and exclaiming it the best muffin ever, following that up multiple muffin videos set to popular references.

And Viktor doesn’t know who he is but needs to find out.

Just a YOI fun fact I've remembered about Viktor because my new fic is about that event:

Viktor competed at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games (of course, he did, he's the Russian Hero after all). These clothes are the official Olympic uniform of Team Russia. The letters are a bit fuzzy, but if you squint hard, you can read "Russian Olympic Team" on his back.

As Viktor wears this uniform already at the beginning of episode 1, we can further assume that the Olympics were at least one figure skating season before the season episode 1 takes place in as teams don't wear their Olympic uniforms months ahead. The GPF is in December, Worlds in late-March; the Olympics would have been in February.

The attention to detail is insane, I love it!
