Happy Birthday Freddie my angel man, you have been apart of my life since before I could talk, I watching Top Hat, Swing Time, Easter Parade, and Holiday Inn when all I could do was crawl to the T.V, and I must have loved you a lot then too because I remembered your voice and your name. When I was a kid would watch Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town in which you were the narrator, I can remember sitting and staring up at your animated self, and I just loved your voice, I thought it was so comforting and I was sure I had heard it somewhere before. Then when I was 10 I remembered your name, I knew how to spell it and I knew your were in a great dancing team with Ginger, but somehow I convinced myself it actually pronounced ASStire. You have made me so happy and influenced me beyond belief, I know if you were here right now( which would have been a feat in itself) you would be to bashful to accept the world’s praise, but I hope your up there in heaven having a swell time. Fun fact: Bing had be arrested for drunk driving before filming so Paul Whitman had him brought to the set, from jail, in in handcuffs everyday to film.

Things the Hays Code(1934-1968) missed in Fred and Ginger movies, a.k.a well the bitch missed that series, The Barkley’s of Broadway part 1:

“Any licentious or suggestive nudity – in fact or in silhouette; and any lecherous or licentious notice there by other characters in the picture;”

lech·er·ous=having or showing excessive or offensive sexual desire.

Licentious= promiscuous and unprincipled in sexual matters.

Ginger is wearing a bra, then she takes of the bra, well if that’s not “suggestive” of nudity then oh well.

Here is some fun proof Fred has seen Ginger in a bra and topless⬆️ he is literally watching her change, how do I know this, you can see his face in the mirror on the wall.

Don’t quote me on this but, I know that some directors and writers during the code era were real pissed off by the Hays code , for the lack of a better term “ film sexually frustrated”. But it was 1949 I’m not sure if any Director is instructing anyone to “ moan”. Still the Hays code wasn’t like: “ AH AH AH is that ‘excessive or lustful kissing’ *tsk tsk tsk* ya no disqualified”.
