summary: you are in denial that you have a crush on your own friend, kim sunwoo until he made you confess your feelings.

note: i wrote this on sunwoo's birthday. its quite late to post it cs i kept on postponing it sksksk but yea this was inspired by sunwoo's berry. enjoy reading! xo

you had sunwoo on your mind for days that you are lacking of sleep. it doesnt sit quite right for you to have this 'romantic' feelings for your bestfriend. meanwhile, sunwoo is not helping you to clear up your mind at all. he's just always there beside you no matter what.

he'd wait at the bus stop just to go to class together with you in the morning even when you're running late. lunch time together is a must unless one of you had other plans. both of you are just stuck together anywhere you go.

so for once, you thought it'd be a good plan to avoid him today. you woke up early that morning to get to class and you texted sunwoo that you had a discussion with your groupmates. this went on for a few days, you were making excuses everyday but sunwoo believed you.

until he couldnt take it anymore.

you felt your phone vibrating in your pocket and you saw sunwoo on the caller id. you were hesitating to pick it up until you felt someone grabbing your wrist from the back, turning you around.

"found ya!"

sunwoo appeared in front of you with the brightest smile. you couldn't help but to feel happy and welcomed by him that you started smiling unknowingly. you get back to your senses seconds later and avoided his eyes.

sunwoo knew something was wrong when he saw your expression fell. he glanced at your phone that kept ringing. he ended the call and your phone went off too.

"why arent you answering my calls? are you still busy?"

you couldnt stand seeing sunwoo looking all gloomy and upset. you felt bad for ignoring him so you tried making up excuses again.

"oh yea i was about to pick it up. sorry,"

sunwoo pouted and wrapped his arm around your shoulders. he's using his favourite perfume again today, you noticed. that scent happened to be your fav of him too. you felt weak and wanting to crawl into a hole or something.

"im craving chicken today. how about chicken and beer for dinner tonight?"

sunwoo turned his head at you, waiting for an answer. you looked up at him and his face was only inches away from you. you looked away, flustered. he had always been this way but only now you noticed how you felt about him which made it more awkward to be this close to him.

"i dont know, sunwoo. i'll have to check with my groupmates," you said, pretending to check your phone for your nonexistent messages.

"its friday come on. i havent hang out with you for days already," sunwoo whined and that made you laugh.

"alright but i get to choose where to eat,"

you chose the chicken restaurant near your neighbourhood where you both are regular customers there. the place was crowded with youngsters like the both of you, drunken with beer and chicken.

you were also getting tipsy from drinking. the first 30 minutes of the dinner went normal. asking how each other had been doing with the college life.

sunwoo sighed and rested his chin on his right palm. his eyes falters on you, searching for something. you looked away, feeling a bit burdened and transparent, because sunwoo knew you werent acting yourself these days.

"hey," he called you but you didnt answer and still avoiding the eye contact.

"hey look at me,"

you were startled at the warmth on both of your cheeks. sunwoo was cupping your cheeks to make you look at him straight in the eyes. you didnt know if this warmth was from his hand or from you blushing.

"what's wrong?" he asked. now his hand moved to yours, holding it tight. "you're avoiding me these days. do you think i didnt notice?"

silence fell between you two, just staring at each other. the guilt creeping up inside you and you didn't know where to start.

its the smallest gesture from him that create butterflies in your stomach.

that one time he opened the water bottle for you when he saw you struggling and saying that you're such a baby. his laughter filled the room when you frowned at the remark. you know how much he loves annoying you and in the end he always made you laugh too.

on rainy days, he'd always share the umbrella with you and keeping you close to him so you wouldnt get drenched. sometimes he'd gently rub your arm so you wouldn't get too cold.

sometimes he'd call you names like how boyfriend and girlfriend do, jokingly. though, you somewhat enjoyed it and played along. pretending to cringe but actually was flattered by him.

at this moment, your hand in his, eyes boring into each other, you just want to scream at him how much you love him.

you smiled in defeat and pulled back your hand.

"there were just so many thoughts going on my mind lately, sunwoo. im so sorry,"

he didn't question you any further and he nodded his head.

"whatever it is youre thinking, i just want you to know i'm always here for you,"

you smiled, this time sincerely at him.

"you always are sunwoo. i appreciate that,"

he smirked, "after all, i am the best that you got,"

you rolled your eyes and gave him your disgusted face.

"so are you gonna tell me what's bugging you?"

"i think i like someone. he's just always running round in my mind these days,"

you didnt know where the courage came from to blurt out that out of your mouth. sunwoo who was halfway shoving a piece of chicken in his mouth, stopped. he put it down and looked at you, doubting himself if he heard that right.

"i couldnt stop thinking about him. that pretty much explains that i like him right? or is it just my mind playing games with me?"

you swore you saw his face fell for a second but he went back to the usual sunwoo after that.

"does he know about your feelings?"

you shrugged, "nah. im still trying to find out what i really feel about him. should i tell him?"

sunwoo didnt say anything and chugged down his beer until its empty.

"yea why not," he answered simply. "he must be really lucky to have you,"

you laughed, "i havent done anything yet. there's a possibility that he'd reject me too anyway,"

its funny how you talk about this like its some stranger to sunwoo when you are talking about him. you felt light hearted a bit after letting that out.

"who'd reject you?" sunwoo said while playing with that piece of chicken, not looking at you anymore. "you're pretty and fun,"

you raised an eyebrow, wondering if you heard that right. he was still poking the chicken with his fork, eyes hazy and lips pouting.

"so you're not gonna tell me who is this guy you have a crush on?"

"you'll find out soon,"

sunwoo offered to walk you home though you kindly told him he didn't have to. he insisted and now you are walking beside him. he was suddenly quiet after the conversation you had with him.

"is that why you're avoiding me? because you have a crush on this guy?"

he asked, hands in his pockets, eyes looking forward. you looked at him, feeling a bit weirded out by his cold tone.

"no... okay maybe? i dont know. i just needed some time to myself,"

sunwoo fell quiet again for the rest of the walk home. when you reached the front gate of your house, you looked back at sunwoo. he looked like he was upset. you walked up to him and pat his side.

"hey thanks for walking me home. i'll tell you everything when i'm ready okay?"

sunwoo didnt say anything and you turned around to get out of that awkward moment.

"no i'll tell you everything right now okay? hear me out,"

you stopped in your tracks and facing him in confusion. he was pacing around, his hands are restless in his pockets.

"before you confess to him i guess i have to make a move on you first," sunwoo said, this time he raised his voice. "this is why people are saying we should always tell what we feel before we regret it and i dont want to regret it but i think im too late,"

you are worried at him. he looked like he was about to break down right in front of you. you wanted to comfort him but you didnt get what he's trying to say.

"sunwoo, i dont understand. what is it?"

sunwoo stopped pacing around and stopped directly in front of you. you swore you saw his eyes tearing up and you wanted to cry too. you thought, the alcohol has made both of you emotional.

"i like you,"

you both felt like the world is weighing down. it was as if the time has stopped for you two. you were staring at each other in disbelief.

"i know you like someone else and i shouldve told you sooner. i kept on putting back my feelings behind," sunwoo halted, gasping for air. "im too late now but i have to tell you this,"

"sunwoo-"

"i dont care who he is. but i want you to know that you deserve of love. you kept on telling yourself you dont deserve anyone. you know how badly i want to tell you that im here? i want to love you," sunwoo was practically shouting at this point. he sighed, "shit im already am in love with you,"

at those words, your tears came streaming down like crazy. you've never seen him cry but tonight he looked beautiful even when he's crying. you lurched forward and wrapped your arms around him. he buried his face in your neck and you felt his warm tears on your skin.

"im sorry. i just wanted to let that out after keeping it for so long. this is the worst timing huh?" he murmured under his breath.

you shook your head and laughed. you let go of the hug first and cupped his face in your hands. teary eyes staring at each other.

"sunwoo its you,"

"what?"

"i love you too,"

you closed the distance between the two of you, kissing him for the first time. that caught him off guard but then smiled in the kiss. it was sloppy but sunwoo is for sure leading you well at this. you both craved for this for a long time already. you were still crying of relief and touched by his confession.

"you should've told me before i start crying like an idiot," sunwoo looked down at you, smiling with his swollen eyes.

you laughed at him and you snuggled more into his embrace not wanting to let go too soon. you realized how much you miss him after those dreading days of ignoring him. he rested his chin on your head while gently patting you.

"im sorry ive been ignoring and denying my feelings for you,"

"its okay. thank god we actually like each other though," you both laughed at the same time and you havent felt this happy and giddy before.

"so i can actually call you my baby now?" sunwoo asked smirking at you playfully, knowing how much you hated it before.

"that's still cringy but sure, babe,"

I HC that big Vee still likes to be put to bed. Not like bedtime story etc, but occasionally he will go to one of the CGs (or even Ro sometimes) and be like "im heading to bed" very deliberately, trying to get someone to come with him, or he'll curl up on the couch and start someone off on a long speech about something, just so he can fall asleep and its like he isn't alone, but he doesn't quite realize that being babied to sleep when he's little is the reason till one of the cgs points it out

I have been thinking about this All Day while i packed so i have a lot of things to say abt this - this is a VERY long post so be prepared shhshs

firstly: ADORABLE THANK U

i rlly do think this is in character! because adult virge actually has a lot of trouble with sleep - he has nightmares most nights and we've obviously established that he wets the bed a lot. both of these things tend to wake him up only a few hours into the night and he's not always willing to sleep again afterwards (to avoid nightmares and wet sheets)

on top of that he (used to) struggle with getting himself to bed on time, he would stay up into the early hours indulging in special interests, stimming where he hid it during the day, or being little (when it was still hidden from everyone) and this has all messed up his body clock quite a lot so some nights he just can't get himself to sleep - this is why he's so sleepy during the days

Also i think he just likes being around people, it calms his anxiety because he doesnt worry about whether anyone is hurt or anything because he can see/feel them around him - so im sure after so many nights being babied to sleep by his CGs and getting so used to having someone with him to fall asleep he subconsciously seeks it out when he's big

also while we are on the subject, adult virgil has a very specific bedtime routine! this is me projecting again but he NEEDS to do every part of it otherwise he feels really stressed and upset and gets anxious and that makes it even harder to sleep - his routine is calling roman a nickname until roman calls him one back, saying 'Night L' to which logan has to reply 'Good night, Virgil.' (if logan replies differently virgil keeps subtly trying to postpone bedtime and repeating 'night L' until logan says it exactly right), and having a hug with patton - patton is the most reliable because every time without a doubt he sways them side to side, squeezes virgils shoulders, kisses his head and whispers 'i love you stormcloud' and virgil always replies 'love you dad' while avoiding his eyes. This routine has been in place since before the regression is revealed i think

ugh the fact that virgil finishes everyday by hugging patton is so cute already but also i said that he also starts off everyday by hugging patton too and thats just ADORABLE

now with actually asking for people to put him to bed, it will be different with each person:

with logan, as you suggested, i think he would get logan to talk about something academic that interests him or maybe even - much more rarely - shyly ask logan if he could read the book in his hands out loud. Logan of course understands that virgil does these things when he's getting tired and is happy to do so to help virgil relax before bed. It helps him relax too

with patton virgil is the most obvious - he knows theres no point hiding it from him and he just outright asks if patton can please help him fall asleep. though I think he would actually be most reluctant to seek out patton, ironically, merely because he knows that patton picks up on it and has no qualms with pointing out that virgil clearly loves bedtime and 'of course i can tuck you in kiddo! Do you want me to stroke your hair? Do you want your paci? Shall i sing to you sweetie?'

So virgil mainly kind of avoids getting patton to put him to bed when he's grownup because pattons instinct is to just treat him like a baby - which virgil appreciates of course but some nights he actually wants to stay big and its kind of impossible to do that when patton is humming a lullaby and rocking virgil in his lap

with roman its a very different story - virgil will only ever seek roman out if both CGs are already in bed, which brings me onto a HC that I've been meaning to tell you guys about for WEEKS:

roman and virgil often have 'sleepovers' - theyre really just all-nighters where both of them have trouble sleeping and instead of suffer alone they go into romans room and chill together for the night

they keep this a secret from the CGs mainly because they're sure patton and logan would both have something to say about the fact that at least once a week virgil and roman completey forego sleep and instead eat snacks and watch disney and play video games and shove pillows into their faces to try not to wake the others with their sleep deprived laughter

but also? its just become special to them and they want to keep it as Their Thing

you see virgil isnt the only one who struggles with sleeping - roman tends to stay up very late working on creative projects (even if the CGs put him to bed he will usually get up again because he cant get his brain to switch off) and he won't admit it, at least not for a while, but he actually has a slight fear of sleep

the fact that you are unaware of what goes on around you and are not in control of your body or mind while you are unconscious just doesn't sit right with roman, if he thinks about it too hard he starts freaking out and purposefully avoids sleeping - thought he doesnt tend to think about it too much, he's learned to ignore these thoughts since when he was a teen they led to a pretty bad case of insomnia

so vee and ro tend to be awake late at night and often one will text 'you up?' and within a minute virgil will be sneaking into roman's room to keep each other company

this is where i think most of their adult brotherly bonding happens, its quiet since they dont want to wake up pat or lo and it's a calm atmosphere because of roman's constellation nightlight and the whole vibe of it just makes them a lot more open and soft with each other

they tend to end up talking about Big Life Things on most nights

as they play minecraft one night virgil opens up about his internalised ableism and how no matter how much everyone assures him its okay to need extra help he still feels awful about it and roman doesn't say much, he just listens, but when he notices virgil getting choked up at one point he pauses the game and silently pushes his teddy bear aladdin into virgils hands and pulls him in with one arm to lean against his shoulder

another night they are lying on romans bed, side by side but with some distance between them, and staring up at the projected constellations, talking about how cool it is that logan and patton take care of them and roman blurts out that sometimes he feels a bit scared of logan and thinks he will tell him off for being stupid and force him not to be virgils brother anymore because he cant be trusted.

they dont look at each other, they keep staring at the stars as roman rambles, supplemented by lots of sarcastic comments and jokes and nervous laughter to hide the fact that his voice is shaking. And again, virgil doesnt say much, he doesnt interrupt roman and they both know that they feel comfy opening up to each other on these nights because theres a silent agreement that they dont discuss it, it's just a venting session, no advice or sympathy please.

but virgil does shuffle closer on the bed and presses their shoulders together, and he does take romans hand gently when roman starts picking at his nails

so yeah.. virgil seeks the CGs out when he wants to sleep, but its not so bad when he can't sleep either because he'll aways have roman too

Hello my uwu children, tonight I bring you a fanfic from my amazing sibling. They’re 13 and i’ve raised them well bc of this masterpiece. It’s told from Wendla’s perspective in a modern au. I think they do a great job of capturing Hanschen and Melchior’s rivalry as well as the romance between martha and anna and hanschen and ernst. The characterization is beautiful and I have cried reading this, so be prepared. 1 like=1 respect.

Finally, after work and craziness I could sit on the couch eat some chips and chocolate. Then...Haunchen bursts through the door and says

“YASSS BITCHES SLEEPOVER”

“Ugh... hans I’ve had a long day get out of my house”

“Oh okay....um”

“What?” Then everyone bursts in wearing matching pjs. Earnts is holding candy Ilse is carrying movies and Melchi has a fucking kitty pool. Hans started making a cutting motion across his neck and looking at the gang with a stressed look.

“What?” Asks earnts while everyone franticly runs into the back yard to fill up the kitty pool.

“Um...she’s kinda had a long day maybe we can post pone the sleepover till tomorrow?”

“Yes please” I added as soon as i said that Melchi ran on wearing floaties and i lost it!

“Wait wait. *sigh* don’t postpone it its fine”

“AYYAYAYAYA”

They threw my matching pjs at me and cheered. Then, we all went into the pool yes, wearing our matching pjs! We splashed and played.

“Wheres martha?” I asked

“Oh she and ana went to go get us some food” said hans

“Bow chic a wow wow” melchi sung

“Shut up!” I said and as soon as i did they walked through the backyard holding in and out. We got out and dried off and began to DIG IN!!

After we finished eating hans got out a list and unraveled and i swear it crossed the whole kitchen!

“Oh my god!” Martha said.

“What did you even plan?” Asked Anna

“A lot of things” i added

“Okay check off kitty pool and dinner! Cool next is make overs!!!”

“Oh god” i said

We went into my bathroom and they completely DESTROYED IT!!

“Omggggg Hansi look look!! This highlight is the one in that one video!” Said earnts

“Omg yeahhhh!!!” Hans responded

“Guys don’t touch that!” I yelled

“Looked anna this window leads to the roof!” Said Ilse as she broke through it

“That window...doesn’t open” i tried to tell Ilse. But it was too late she had already broken through the glass. But my attention was drawn somewhere else when i turned around because i herd something fall and break. Melchi and Hans had gotten into a fight and hans through my glass soap holder at melchi who had dodge it then it shattered.

“Nice job Melchi!” Screamed hans.

“GODDAMNIT HANS!!” Screamed Ernst “I WILL DRAG YOU OUT OF HERE BY YOUR EAR IF YOU KEEP UP THIS BEHAVIOR!!! That was probably a family air-loom.”

“Dont worry about it ernst. It wasnt that important.” I laugh then leave to get a broom.

“FUCKIN SHIT!” I hear come from the bathroom on my way back up the stairs with the broom.

“What happened now?” I here Ilse say.

“I STEPPED ON THE FUCKIN GLASS SHIT!” I here Otto scream.

“Nice job dumbass” says Melchi.

“Lets just move on to the next activity” hans says.

“Good idea” ana agrees.

“TRUTH OR DARE!!!” Screams hans. Everyone follows him out of the bathroom

“Melchi truth or dare?” Says Ana

“dare!” Melchi answers.

“LICK YOUR FOOT BITCH!” Screams Ana. Melchi does.

“FUCK! SHIT!” Melchi screams.

“Truth or dare Hans?” Asks Ernst.

“Truth” he answers.

“TITTIES???” Hans screams. They both loose it and melchi gets up and says “im bored. Gonna go get food. Anyone comin’?”

“No food in the fridge. Sorry” i say

“anyone up for a milkshake?” Asks Ilse

“totally” answers Ernst

“im down” says Ana

“same” says hans.

“Settled then. Meet y’all in the car” says Melchi.

“Shit” i say. We are all in the car in our almost dry pjs and we rock out to some Ariana Grande.

“Hey sorry we are only open for another 15 minutes” says the cashier once we get to Ruby’s.

“Boo!” Says Ilse

“we’ll take 6 Vanilla milkshakes to go please” says Melchi. After we get our milkshakes we head back for the car

“well that was under whelming” says Ilse

“definitely” ana agrees.

“Hey not to far from here theres a bowling alley oped till midnight! We have 2 hours before it closes lets go!” Says hans.

“Fuck” i say. Once we get there it is complete chaos.

“LETS USE MELCHI AS THE BALL!!!!” Screams Hans

“i second that” i say almost tasting the salt in my mouth. Everyone laughs until i hear a thud and an “OW WAT THE FUCK HANS” come from behind me.

“THAT WAS SO FUN!” Exclaims ana.

“Yeah except for the part when i almost BUSTED MY HEAD OPEN!” Says Melchi.

“I think you deserved it” says hans

“shut your dumb face!” Says melchi

“okay okay calm down!” I say “lets head back and do face masks!”

“YEAH!!” They all scream running back to the car. We finish off the night telling secrets and doing face masks.

“Goodnight everyone!” Says hans turning off the lights.

“Night” Ilse responds

Sorry if that isn’t what you meant haha, but i dont know of a song irl that dan would play for phil that could be classed as ‘his song’ (thought im sure there are several)

“I just don’t think it’s very fair of you to blindside me with all the shitty stuff from our past without some kind of warning!” Dan protests, throwing his flat keys down on to the dining room table. He shrugs his coat off, irritated, and throws it onto a nearby chair. “In front of all our friends!”

“Oh, so I’m just supposed to shove all that stuff to one side and never think about it again?” Phil asks, sounding incredulous. Dan rolls his eyes at the theatrical way Phil is behaving. “I’m never allowed to bring it up, or speak about it, or think about it in case it makes you feel guilty and miserable for a split second, is that right?”

“Obviously that’s not what I’m saying, Phil.” Dan says icily, crossing his arms. “You don’t have to be so... so...”

“So what?” Phil prompts, one hand curled around his own set of keys, still.

Dan just glares, lips pressed into a thin slash across his chin. He’s not going to finish that sentence. It won’t do either of them any good; besides, they’ve both had a couple of glasses of wine.

They’ve been out for a meal at a posh sushi place for Hazel’s birthday. It’s a place they know well, a menu they’ve ordered from frequently, and friends that they both enjoy being around.

Dan has no idea why, on this occasion, things turned sour. Out of all the many ways Phil could have answered Louise’s innocent, funny question of ‘what’s the worst pick-up line you’ve tried on someone?’, he had to say ‘well, that’s a difficult one because for the last eight years I've been desperately in love with someone who made it extremely clear they didn’t want me back until very recently. So, I haven’t tried out an actual pick up line in forever.’

His answer had stunned the table into an awkward hush. Dan had been so taken aback by the nonchalant way in which Phil casually dropped this information into the lighthearted conversation - with people who know absolutely nothing about it, save for Louise - that he’d actually choked on an edamame bean.

They all knew, of course, that Phil was talking about Dan. They must have.

Suddenly, remembering the stunted, jolty attempts people were forced to make to kickstart the conversation again, to move it into safer territory, Dan doesn’t feel quite so generous.

He decides to finish his sentence, after all.

“You don’t have to be so childish about this whole thing.” Dan says before he can think it through properly. “It’s over now. We’re married, we’re together, you have me. Why are you insisting on picking at the scabs? And without even so much as a hint to me beforehand that it’s on your mind at all!”

“Childish?” Phil repeats, his voice soft and hurt.

Dan’s heart sinks, and he regrets the choice of adjective immediately. “No, well, no-”

But it’s too late to take it back. The word hangs in the air, taunting them both.

Dan scrambles to think of a way to repair the situation, but he’s not fast enough. Phil, still wearing his coat, turns back the way he came, keys still clasped in his fist, and walks out of the door.

Fuck.

Phil has no idea where he’s going. He hadn’t really thought further ahead than getting out of the flat before the argument turned even nastier.

That’s the problem with arguing with Dan; he’s a hothead. He can’t seem to catch the words in his mind long enough to think them through, he just spits them out, harsh and unfiltered, then regrets it.

The wind whips against him, and Phil draws the lapels of his coat around himself a little tighter. He’d been so looking forward to getting back home after the dinner tonight. They’d left the heating on, and Phil had been feeling pleasantly tipsy all evening until it got awkward. He’d been thinking about how, later, he could drag a wine-sweetened Dan underneath the covers, kiss him in all the places that made him squirm until neither of them felt the cold anymore.

He sighs, taking a random turning into a side street he’s never walked down before. He wonders if he should put his hood up or something, as the worst thing would be getting recognised right now. It’s unlikely to happen, though, in the dark.

Childish.

That was the word Dan had used to describe him. It echoes through the wide, hollow rooms of Phil’s usually thriving brain, echoing off the cold, stone walls.

Is that truly how Dan perceives him? Immature and thoughtless? Attention-seeking, maybe? Or sulking, to get his way?

A shiver runs through his body, and his teeth begin to chatter. He steps through the milky, pale yellow splash of light from an overhead streetlamp, glad of the fleeting absence of darkness.

He hadn’t meant to say what he did, when he answered Louise. He didn’t think. It’s not like him to say things without thinking, either - but he supposes being around Dan so much must mean he picks up on some of his habits, both good and bad.

Just now, Dan had said that Phil had blindsided him with the answer. That he’d failed to let Dan know that it was playing on his mind, and that if he’d pulled Dan aside, maybe tried to talk it through a little, things would have been okay.

But Dan doesn’t understand. The ‘Birthday Sex Era’, as Phil now thinks of it, isn’t something that fleetingly pops into his head now and again. He’s thinking of it always. There’s never a moment that it’s not there, stubborn and loud, a great sea-monster lurking in the ocean of Phil’s love for Dan, its tentacles protruding into every single memory they have as a pair.

Phil isn’t able to just carve the Birthday Sex monster away. It’s too entwined in what they are, in what they were. It’s part of him, and it’s part of Dan, and it’s a part of both of them, together.

So, when the delicious Californian white wine is flowing, and Phil is comfortable and relaxed around his favourite, trusted friends, it’s only natural that he’ll answer something asked of him with total honesty. It just so happens that the honest answer he gave tonight was one that the Birthday Sex monster has wrapped itself around. Phil couldn’t help but tell Louise the truth. And the truth had been that Phil, for a long time, was simply not interested in ‘picking up’ anyone but Dan, and that Dan had - somewhat cruelly - encouraged this.

Two shadowy figures turn into the street, starting to walk towards him. Phil is wearing his contacts, but he still can’t really make them out. Not wanting to linger too long in a deserted, back street with two unfamiliar strangers late at night, Phil turns, walking briskly back the way he came.

It’s freezing tonight, anyway. Phil’s had a little walk to gather his thoughts.

It’s time to go home.

Phil tries to unlock the door quietly, half hoping the inevitable confrontation can be postponed a little longer, until he’s shucked off his coat and shoes, at least.

He manages to stay quiet as he lets himself in, and takes his time about removing his outer garments. He runs a hand through his hair, shuddering as his body soaks up the warmth of the flat, and sighs.

Belatedly, he realises he can hear a soft, enchanting melody, seeping through the floorboards of the upstairs hallway. Intrigued, as ever, by Dan’s decision to play the piano, Phil follows the haunting tune.

Strangely, as he pads up the stairs, Phil realises that he’s humming along. He pauses in his step, head cocked to listen harder when he deduces that he actually knows this particular song.

He shuts his eyes, still humming as he tries in vain to place it. Is it a video game theme song, he wonders? Dan is very fond of learning every score of the Final Fantasy soundtrack. But somehow Phil knows it isn’t that, this time.

His brain aches in protest, complaining that it’s too befuddled with alcohol and post-argument tension to work out what the song is.

Phil rolls his eyes at his own mind, then continues up the stairs, deciding he’ll just have to remember to ask Dan once they’ve resolved this little tiff.

It’s as Phil approaches their bedroom, that it dawns on him. The realisation tumbles over him in a gush, and he sucks in a breath, stopping in his tracks. He stands in the doorway, not daring to move in case he interrupts.

Watching Dan play is a performance in itself, regardless of the music he produces. His back is straight, just as his evil teacher drilled into him that it must be all that time ago. His fingers dance, light as petals skimming the surface of a lake, over the keys.

Dan hasn’t noticed Phil’s arrival, he’s sure.

The tune begins soft, then sweeps into a whirlwind of complexity, soaring into something so swooping, so magnificent, so deep and vibrant and pure that it sends Phil’s stomach crashing to the floor.

After a while, it peters out, trilling gently, teasing the growing quiet with more until it stops entirely.

Dan hunches forwards, his forehead pressing against the stand as his fingers curl into fists.

“I haven’t heard you play that in a while,” Phil says, trying to keep his voice soft so he won’t startle Dan, but the younger man jumps anyway, spinning to face him.

There are obvious, shiny tear-tracks over his cheeks.

“Phil,” he breathes, clearly amazed, “you’re- you’re back.”

Phil shrugs, shuffling into the room a little. “Where else would I go?”

Dan is silent for a minute, his top teeth trapping his lower lip like he’s trying to button his mouth closed. It doesn’t work. The words burst out anyway, tumbling from his lips in a messy, unprocessed garble.

“I’msosorry-”Dan starts, eyes desperate. “I just- like, I don’t even know why I would say that- I don’t- obviously I don’t think you’re childish, but youknowwhatI’mlike-”

“Dan.” Phil interrupts, gently.

“And especially after drinking- like, I knew I should’ve said no to that second glass, but-”

“Dan, stop,” Phil urges, moving towards him.

Sitting down on the piano stool, scooted up against Dan’s side seems to startle him into silence, so Phil takes the opportunity to speak.

“I’m not really sure who’s right or wrong here.” He confesses, shrugging one shoulder.

Dan rolls his eyes. “Come on, Phil, there’s no need to become a martyr just because I’m getting a bit weepy-”

Phil smiles, brushing a thumb under each of Dan’s eyes, rubbing away the moisture collected there. “I’m not being a martyr.” Phil turns to face him as much as possible on the stool, trying to get the words straight in his head. “I just think that this - our situation - is a peculiar one. I don’t quite know how to handle it best, y’know?”

Dan nods, chewing his lip again.

“I don’t want you to feel like you have to be constantly on edge in case I spring a guilt trip on you from nowhere,” Phil says, completely honest about this. “But I also don’t really know how to deal with all the leftover... stuff still inside me from that time. The Birthday Sex time.”

“What kind of ‘stuff’?” Dan asks cautiously, sounding like he doesn’t really want to know the answer. Honestly, Phil is pretty sure Dan won’t like the answer either.

Phil swallows. “Hurt. Anger. Heartbreak. Insecurity. Anxiety.” Phil swallows again. “You know. Stuff.”

Dan takes a deep breath, but nods again, seeming to understand. “So... you’re saying that ‘stuff’ might sort of... leak out at random, inconvenient times?”

Phil quirks a smile at him. “I’m going to try really, really hard not to let that happen. I don’t want to hurt you, or cause arguments. And you’re right, y’know? What you said earlier - it’s over. I have you now.”

His hand travels absent-mindedly to Dan’s hip, ducking beneath the jumper he’s wearing until his fingers skim the tattoo he knows is inked there.

Dan shakes his head. “I was a prat earlier. Please don’t take any of what I said to heart.”

Phil chuckles at him, and Dan gives him a serious look.

“No, seriously Phil.” He says, making Phil chuckle more. “If anyone’s a fucking child around here it’s me. I’m the one who threw a god damn bitch fit at you for bringing up your own perfectly valid feelings of betrayal. I mean, what right do I have to yell at you for that when it’s all my fault you ever felt that awful to begin wi-”

Phil kisses him to shut him up, mostly, but also because he’s tipsy and sad and bullying himself for things he’s apologised for so many times. Sometimes, the best way to draw Dan out of his own abusive head is to remind him how much he is loved, despite whatever he may think of himself.

When Phil draws away, there’s a surprised, sweet expression on Dan’s pretty face. Phil smiles at the sight of it, curling his hand into Dan’s jumper.

“Your playing was so lovely,” Phil tells him wistfully.

Dan ducks his head, smiling bashfully. “Thanks. I think that’s the only thing I can play without any mistakes.”

“Will you play it again?” Phil asks, resting his head on Dan’s shoulder.

Dan pretends to look exasperated, rolling his eyes. “You’re requesting your own song for the second time?”

Phil nods, beaming, and Dan shakes his head fondly, but kisses him nonetheless. He places his hands over the keys, and Phil lights up, settling down to listen, his eyes fluttering closed.

“As if I could ever say no.” Dan murmurs, then starts to play.

Okay... headcannon?

It's a little dry but I couldn't get it out of my head. Will have 2 fics posted this weekend! p>Victuuri and Yurio are in Canada or somewhere for a competition, again a minor competition. Yurio had been feeling sick the whole day and with Yurio being Yurio, he says nothing. The competition is the next day but Yurio forces himself through practice, and social things. Later that night Yurio starts to feel hella worse. He wakes up in the middle of the night highly nauseous and hot. He groans loudly as he shifts to his back, putting his hands over his stomach as he tries to wake up. Nausea courses through his body, warmth washing over him as bile climbs in his throat and he bolts up as his stomach cramps. He whimpers loudly as vomit spews from his mouth, puddling on the covers, running down his front. He gags loudly as Yuuri and Viktor, sleeping in the bed next to him (they dont normally share a room but somehow their reservations got mixed up) jerk awake to the sound of a retching child. Yuuri flips the light on quickly glancing over at Yurio, who is hunched over, still puking. Both Victuuri inch closer, yuuri sitting beside the boy, trying to comfort jim, biting his lip as heat connects with his hand pressed against yurios back. Viktor was beside the boy, brushing his hair away from his face, whispering to him, “alright Yura, its alright. Its alright”. Yurio eventually stops puking and is deduced to a shivering sobbing mess. Vomit drips from his face and clothes, and its all over the bed. Viktor, “Yurio, how about Yuuri helps clean you up hm? Ill take care of this.” Yurri nods gently as he places a comforting arm around the boy, pulling him up, wincing as the sick covering Yurio slids down onto the floor. The boy collapses on him and yurio casts a weak glance towards the clock, 3.00am. He had less than 7 hrs before his competition. Viktor calls a housekeeper as the shower starts in the bathroom. The housekeeper comes in, V, “Im so sorry, we had an accident…” The housekeeper looks at Viktor a soft sad smile on her old face, “oh honey, its fine. I raised four kids.” Viktor nods gently, and directs his attention towards the bathroom as a soft crash sounded, ans heard Yuuri talking gently. “So how old is your son?” The housekeeper asks gently, stripping the bed. . V, “oh no, hey not my son.” “Honey, do you take care of him?” “yes,” Viktor nods softly “Do you watch over him, help him when he needs help, soothe him when he has nightmares, comfort him when he needs it, are you raising him? ” “yes….” The housekeeper laughed gently, “ then he is your son…” Viktor stayed quiet for a few mintues, mulling this over in his head. “Hes 16” “Ah, hes at that rebellious stage.” Viktor snorted, “you could say that again…” Okay, housekeeper scene can go on for hours. Anyway. After the house keeper leaves, viktor returns to the bathroom, finding the boy hunched over the toilet puking as Yuuri rubbed soft fingers across the kids back. Basically yurio is sick the whole time. Around 830am he begins fighting Viktor, trying his best to convince Victuuri that they need to get going otherwise they will miss the comp. Yurio LOOKS terrible and it was only 20mins ago that he finally stopped puking. His hair ismatted to his forehead as fever rages through his exhauseted bodyand hes shaking. Viktor sighes loudly as he glances down at Yuurisphone. He has no doubt in his mind that the kid couldnt even stand up on his own if he wanted too. And despite everything Viktoe is sure he wont be able to bargin with Yurio. He looks at Yuuri who is trying to wipe some sweat from the boys face. Yurio fever was at 103 . Yuuri looks over at Viktor, nodding softly as understanding crosses his face. He leaves the room, coming back a few mins later with a water bottle and some pills. “here honey,” he says gently, handing them to the teenager, “ takes these.” Yurio shakes his head, “Nyet, theyre going to make me sleep and we have a competition to get to.” He pushes Yuuris hand away andtries to stand

but his arms are shaking and he curses loudly. V, "Yurio, it's only 8, the competition begins at 10, and you don't go on till 12. The way I look at it is we still have a few hours to kill. Why don't you take these and I'll wake you in an hour do we can leave, da?" Yurio stares at the older russian, sizing him up. Despite wanting to get to the ice, sleep sounds amazing right now. His head is killing him and it's getting hard to keep his eyes open. He nods gently and takes the pills from Yuuri, accepting the water. Basically Victuuri help the Russian punk back to bed and Viktor sits on the edge of the bed, running his hand over the boys overheated back as he falls asleep. Yuuri is sitting next to Yurio, on the other side, running his fingers through his hair. Viktor glances at the clock, 9.30am. "You lied to him." Yuuri said softly. Viktor nods, "if he knew is was close to 10, he would have fought more. We will see how he is in a while." Yuuri sighed, "Vitya, you can't honestly tell me you plan on dragging him to the ice, right?" Viktor laughs softly, "oh love, we will miss the competition. I have no intention of forcing him to skate. I'll call the director soon. I just meant we will see how he is in a while, and decide if we need to postpone sightseeing one more day." Yuuri laughed softly, "oh". Basically Yurio is sick the rest of the day. His fever breaks later that night and when he finds out he missed the comp. He is pissed at Viktor.

Hi guys. Well, to start out with I have my driver's license address set to my uncle's house in pembroke pines, FL, but I live here in Hialeah Gardens, FL. On Christmas Day I went out in the car to pick up some drinks from the petrol station and on the way out of the station I bumped someones car. I stopped and got out to give them my details (name, address and phone number) and then went home. At this point I was a bit suspicious and the amount seemed very high for what I thought was not a lot of damage but at the same time he said that he either wanted to do it like that or through the insurance and I really didn't want to loose my no-claims discount as insurance for young male drivers is very high without the no-claims. In the end I decided to pay him, not without a certain bitterness owing to the fact that he was pressuring me for an immediate decision, which also made me suspicious. Having sent the cheque for 400, he kept up communications initially and let me know that he'd received it. He said that he would send me a copy of the receipt from the garage for my records but once he received the cheque I never heard back and now cannot get a reply. Bit long-winded for a question but that's the background story, my question is two-fold: 1. Can I do anything about it? It's more the principle than the money that bothers me, I know that I caused damage to his car but I now suspect it wasn't as much as he claimed. 2. Does 400 sound like too much or should I stop worrying about it? I hit the back corner of his car with the back corner of mine, and he later told me that I had cracked the rear bumper, which needed replacing.
