hey so you had that headcanon that tom could see ghosts right. what if after tucker's death on trinity island he got lucky immediately after while finding the diamonds because tucker (in spectator mode or w/e) led him to it

I imagine that, with Tom seeing ghosts, Tucker just followed him around EVERYWHERE, complaining about everything and anything. It was sad, at first, that Tucker died, but how in the hell does Tom explain to Sonja and Jordan that the reason he keeps making fun of Tucker dying is because he's right there being a wet napkin?

And then when Sonja dies it gets just a bit worse. Not because theres TWO ghosts following him around, but because Sonja died /underwater/. She has this sickly blue sheen to her, and even though they pulled her body from the water to properly bury her. With Tucker, he'd been so thoroughly disintegrated that he just looks normal, if not a tad singed. With Sonja, it's like watching her drown in real time, except the water didn't kill her. That almost perfectly circle burn mark in the middle of her chest did.

Of course, when Sonja dies she and Tucker become a running peanut gallery and joke about Tom and Jordan making out now that they're gone. But when Tom and Jordan finally, FINALLY, beat all the bosses and its just them two? When they have to fight to the death? Tucker and Sonja are silent. That, more than the harrowing thought of having to be the one to strike down a friend with no chance at revival until they plunge into the next world, is horrifying.

Because at least when they were talking they still felt alive. During that fight? It felt like they had all already died, with Tom one foot in the grave behind them
