Okay. So. I don't go here. I don't fucking KNOW shit about care bears. But I DID wake up at like 6 am and scrolled through op's blog out of boredom and saw this post and this comment and was like "yeah wtf is up with that" so naturally I spent about an hour googling shit.

What I could find doing some kind of Light Googling™ and Google Lens™ing (i am not An Expert. i don't know how to do deep dives or anything. this was moreso a google rabbit hole actually) was:

pictures of similar plushies like this care bear

a bunch of links to a site called kingdomofcaring dot net, which I don't know whether they're a trustable fan site or what but Good Fucking Lord do they have archives of a ton of error plushies n whatnot, and from there I found. Multiple fuckers with the same symbol as this one. but they were all blue ???

anyway I went back to Google however now I know that misprinted care bears are called Mavericks so ok cool.

I looked thru the site for a little bit longer partially out of curiosity bc Oooh Misprint Toys! it's barely 7 am and I have yet to take my ADHD meds. Anyways I learned that there are a ton of knock off carebears floating about and one that caught my eye was a knockoff brand called Love Bears. The first image that comes up when I searched "love bear knockoff" was an image describing various Care Bear knockoffs, one of them being Love Bears.

Quoting the image: "The most common of these bears are the Love Bears. They were produced from the bodies of Cheer, Funshine and Tenderheart. They appeared with three different tummy symbols, a raincloud, a sun with a rainbow, and a very circular rainbow. These bears had heart shaped noses, although different from the typical Care Bear nose; heart shaped pads on their feet, and the same head and body as Care Bears. The eyes and ears were replaced and the tush heart removed. The tush tag simply read "Love Bear." With the three body colors and three symbols, a total of 9 variations of this bear exist."

What also comes up in the images when I searched Lovebear Knockoff was a picture of the same goddamn bear the submitter found in the thrift store.

The link that picture takes me to is for a listing on worthpoint dot com and it's listed as "VINTAGE CARE BEARS TENDERHEART MAVERICK BEAR RARE FAKE LOVE RAINBOW." i copy pasted that and was not expecting it to bold itself and I'm laughing my ass off. Anyways its description is "MAVERICK care bear tenderheart with sun and rainbow. Bear has no heart button, tush tag is marked maid in Taiwan, love bear."

In conclusion, and tl;dr:

Going off what I can see from this plush, and what I now know from googling, this is a Love Bear, I fuckin guess??
