Hyunjin slides his vicious gaze over your skin, and a nymph behind you sighs. You squirm uncomfortably, barefoot on the smooth tiles leading to the throne room, expecting Seungmin to appear at any moment and drag you away. After all, the fae prince has taken a fancy to you, and while your best friend's mistake may translate into a night of inebriation and blurred dreams, for the moment everything that has happened has been quite real... and all too intoxicating.

You can taste the violence of the room even before the doors open before you, the floor covered in dry leaves and dirt, but nothing prepares you for the sight of a feeric feast at its peak.

The fairies intertwine their accelerated dances under the vault of tangled roots in the ceiling, slipping between the sweaty, half-naked bodies of others, flooding the room in a mélange of frosty velvety gowns and warm silk dresses, their long sleeves swirling around them. It is the aristocracy of the magical world, entwining crusts in their corsets and their sweet wine-soaked tongues in stolen kisses. There are giants devouring the delicacies prepared and displayed on the wide wooden tables that are no taller than the pale Doric columns that support the ceiling, and unruly nixes chasing each other among the crystal chandeliers that shed their light upon all the guests.

The thunderous rhythm of the nimble violins ceases at Hyunjin's presence, and you cower behind him as everyone turns to you. Looks of curiosity and disbelief turn into dark disdain as the guests notice how round your ears are at the tip, and you have to make an effort not to run away.

‘Don't scream,’ you whisper, and you don't see the way Hyunjin's lips tingle beneath an disguised smile. ‘Don't scream,’ you repeat, pleading, because if you start, you don't think you can stop.

The room is still deathly silent as the prince raises his hand, stretching his long fingers out in front of you, filled with silvery, intricate rings, and his ink-black pupils urge you to take it. You do not hesitate, knowing that magical beings take rejection as the worst offence, and you accept. His validation, his hospitality, his skin beneath yours. Your breath catches, the overwhelming scent of ripe fruit cloying your senses, his delicate fingertips caressing the palm of your hand, his nose brushing the back like the flutter of a shy butterfly.

You understand, the beating of your heart a roar comparable to that which devoted violinists tear from their strings once they continue to play, intertwined notes that sound too wrong and too right at the same time, that his intention is to dance with you. And you shudder, because you know you risk never ceasing.

More than once you have heard, from whispered comments and hasty warnings, that you should never trust a fairy. Their delectable delicacies make you lose your mind, their sweet words have the power to make you dance until you faint. They will convince you of the impossible, twisting the truth until you are unable to discern what is real and what is not. Hyunjin has not uttered a sound since he found you in the forest and swore he would never hurt you, and if you followed him it was because telling him no would have saddened him.

The prince did not have a face destined for sadness, though the tears sliding down his cheeks would have brought out his beauty.

You followed him and believed him, because fairies cannot lie, because deep down you wanted to, even if you knew you should not. And now you take his hand, disobeying Seungmin and everything he once taught you, resting your fingers on his palm, his thumb brushing your knuckles, and let him lead you to the centre of the room. He barely greets those fairies who try to steal his attention, his eyes fixed on you, and your chest warms with the pride of a swollen ego.

You may have been the centre of someone's attention before, but it doesn't matter anymore. It doesn't compare to the tingle that shivers across your skin when Hyunjin looks into your eyes. The blush that adorns your cheeks when he smiles at you, the sleeve of his dark suit coat brushing against your arm, the toxicity in his voice when he calls your name. The way your knees almost give way under your weight when his soft hand finds its place in the folds of your dress, which certainly seems too coy, its fabric doing nothing to conceal the way his palm digs its electrifying heat into your body.

It's addictive and absurd, the horrible satisfaction of being the only one the prince has allowed to be close, the only one who has accepted by his side, the only one who can slip your arms around his firm shoulders, feeling him shudder beside you. Knowing that you hold in your hands what so many want, for love and for war, for his blood and his power, and that it was him who chose you. Being mortal, being a faded petal next to the eternal beauty of the ones that surround you, knowing that so many hate you in that instant. It's dangerous, but you bask in the adrenaline that melts in your stomach.

Hyunjin presses you against his chest, leading the dance, and you let yourself go. You never bothered to listen when your mother insisted on teaching you to dance - after all, you were convinced you'd never need to, and you're not about to start learning now. It takes you a few moments to understand the order of the prince's steps, and then you simply follow them, as if it were as easy as breathing. You wonder if that ease, the way your head is clear and your feet light, is what it feels like to be enchanted.

But Hyunjin calls your name, and the thoughts vanish like dust in the air. You lift your chin, losing yourself in the depths of his dark almond-shaped eyes, and curve your lips in reverence. When the prince spoke, everyone fell silent. Seungmin had told you so. Your lips seal, and his heartbeat flutters beneath the palm of your hand, planted on his chest. You listen, you smile. You can afford to pretend to be one of them for the night.

“I want you to have an unforgettable night,” he pronounces, his voice chanting the sentence as the command that lies beneath every syllable, accustomed to living among servants.

“Yes, my prince,” you reply, your throat quivering, your gaze serene.

You are malleable in his presence, turning to clay under his touch. And he seems willing to stain his hands. His eyelashes stutter as you stand on your tiptoes, you see the way his Adam's apple quivers as he feels your breath collide against his parted lips, and before anyone can react, you kiss him.

It's brief, fleeting, barely a brush of your mouth on his. You don't have time to process the softness of his pillowy lips, or the way they linger on yours as you pull away. You open your eyes, and your breath catches as you see him smiling lazily, blushing up to his ears, as if he finds it amusing that you dared to make such a risky move, but irremediably wants more.

And that same breath you exhale against his lips as he returns his mouth to yours, burning, yearning, digging his fingers into your skin. He presses your body to his until you fit together like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, and you slide your hands up his shoulders, to the back of his neck, threading them through the strands of his silky hair. You sigh, frowning in delight as he parts your lips with his wet tongue, and your head spins, drunk on him.

You stand in the middle of the room, losing yourself in each other as the fairies dance around you, but you can only focus on Hyunjin, Hyunjin, Hyunjin... You can't help but tug at his hair as you feel him breathing heavily against your skin, sliding his mouth down your jaw to your throat, leaving open, slow, sensual kisses, following the quickening rhythm of your heart to your collarbone. Your mind is clouded by his lips, and you gasp as he bites your shoulder.

Seungmin once warned you to wear his berry amulet around your neck at all times, some kind of twisted repellent. You can remember the tenderness blushing his face as he spoke each word, the worry shining in his brown eyes, in case something happened to you and he wasn't there to protect you. But you've forgotten why. You only see the prince, his warm breath on your skin, his hands clinging into you, and the juice of the blackberries sliding down his sharp chin as he bites into your necklace.

You know someone had once said something, but it doesn't matter anymore. Only Hyunjin, his toxic lips, and the sweet berry liquor you lick from his mouth until you can only taste him.

Rose Recaps 2023 - Korea

I started with Japan because this year it gave me everything I could possibly want. Korea gave me some very nice surprises. Let's go.

The one that had me question if watching it was good for my mental health.

The Eighth Sense

Much like what I said about Tokyo in April is... it was not a good decision on my part to watch this one live. I related way too much to Jae Won and I wasn't in a specially good place at the time. However, I love it so much. I have rewatched it since then and it's such an incredible journey.

I think they used the time very efficiently and they didn't try to skip too many steps to make it a happy ending. I would be okay without any redemption for those two but on the plus side the other friends were brilliant.

Sing My Crush

This show came out all at once and I had no idea it was coming. But I'm so glad it did. There were I think 4 kbls that came out all at once this year. And with the exception of this one, they were all worse because of it. First of all I fell in love with the song instantly and Han Tae immediately after. He's so cute and in love and it takes him way too long to realise it, but his devotion to Ba Ram is unquestionable from the beginning.

The first couple of episodes I wasn't sure about this one. The first couple of episodes were kinda of confusing, starting with such a dark scene on the roof, and so many different types of relationships to keep track of.

Joo Hyuk was my instant favourite from the beginning. The way he was instantly smitten and committed from the first moment he saw the TA was delightful.

It took me longer to warm up to Min Woo and Maru. But I love their arc. Even the jealousy experiment didn't bother me, Maru needed a push. Much like Lee Hyun said, it was so obvious.

Lee Hyun and Kim An were the last ones to reach me. I think the whole backstory around Kim An muddied the waters a bit and I'm not sure it was necessary to have so much of it, but I did love that when Kim An gave in, he did so with no reservations.

Love Tractor

Ok. Not really, But look how pretty. Funny story, I actually rewatched part of this show in an orchard not that much different from the one here. I was on holiday in the countryside and just thought it would be incredibly amusing.

Anyway. I love Ye Chan an unreasonable amount. He's so dramatic and so earnest. And honestly if I ever had to move to a place like this I think I would pretty much have the same reaction as Seon Yul. I just want my peace and quiet.

But I really like their dynamic all throughout and considering the time restraints I thought that the development of Yul's feelings was done quite well.

Love Mate

There was absolutely no reason for me to like this show has much as I did. Ha Ram should've bothered me. This whole concept should've annoyed me. The whole separation bit should've made me angry. Why didn't it? I have no clue. But I loved it. I've watched it more than once and love it every time.

Unintentional Love Story

I adore this show. Pick an episode, any episode, I love it. Was it perfect? No. Was the kissing the thing that made it not perfect? Perhaps. I love it nonetheless.

[Confession time. Is there one thing about this show that bothers me no matter how many times I rewatch it? Yes. Is it the kissing? No. Is it something absolutely and stupidly tiny that only I could possibly be that bothered by it? Yes. What is it? " Let me at least do this." It's such a great moment. But why did whoever was in charge of the editing felt the need to show us the scene that we saw 17 minutes before? (it's really 17 minutes and 40 seconds, I checked because I'm nowhere near sane). Did they thing we forgot about it in that time? It lessens the moment and it insults the audience. I hate it an unreasonable amount. ]

There are so many moments in this show that I love. The four mains are amazing, the confession scene by HoTae in the coffee shop floored me, the writing in the sand moment was delightful and the soundtrack is my favourite of the year.

What's there to say. There's nothing wrong here. They are delightful, I had a great time with the video game format at the end of the episodes, their chemistry was amazing, and Ki Tae is my favourite boy. Also, my second favourite soundtrack this year.

Just a bet Chapter 12

You wake up in your bed, a blanket covering your torso.

you grab your phone looking at the time 7:26 am 

shit.

you get up from bed immediately looking for clothes to shower and change to as your class starts at 8 am

you get out of your room and run towards the shower with everything in your hand.

you get your hair done and fit done as well, you wear baggy jeans and a tight crop top with sleeves and a loose ponytail 

you make your way to the living room to go out of the house but see Chan in the kitchen cooking something that smells really good 

"good morning" he says 

"hi, good morning," you say trying to rush towards the front door and putting your shoes on 

"are you going to have breakfast?" he offers what he is making

"Oh" you feel bad "I usually don't have breakfast Chan and Im running late is 7:41 and classes start at 8 and the bus ride to is always 15- 20 minutes to school"

"It doesn't matter come and have breakfast, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so please sit down have some food and I will drive you"

"but you don't have classes until 10 right?" you asked concerned about making him waste gas

"yeah don't worry about it, we are near school anyways " You nod and sit down to share breakfast with him

He serves your eggs, bacon, and toast with jam, you thank him for the food and start eating with him, sitting on opposite sides of the small table with no small talk but just listening to the cars passing by and birds chirping near the kitchen window. 

"what's your first class?" he asks you taking the conversation 

"Criminal justice course" you roll your eyes

he chuckles "Why don't you like that class?" he asks

"don't get me wrong I do enjoy it but the teacher is a pervert so it's  very uncomfortable to be in his class" 

"oh well he is full of shit then," he says getting on your side and you nod 

you get up and thank him for the food, wash your dish, and rush to the bathroom to brush your teeth, you grab your bag and head to the door to see Chris with both keys in his hands and a beanie on his head

"ready?"  he asks you as you nod and get out so he can lock his apartment 

you get in the car and wait for him to start the car, but before  that, he puts some music on, some  R&B to start as you start to vibe to SZA, you see that we get close to school 

"Can I ask you something?" you ask him

"yeah of course" he answers you 

"I didn't get to finish my ice cream last night"

he laughs through his smile

"yeah I had to throw it away but there is more in the freezer" he assures me about my concern 

"Did I fall asleep on the couch?" I try to get the tea out of why I was in my bed this morning

"yeah you did, but no worries" he smiles

"then why was I on my bed this morning?" I ask knowing well the goddamn answer but wanting to get the answer out of him to confirm my beliefs 

"Oh, I took you to your room, i hope that didn't make you uncomfortable" he smiles shyly as his cheeks paint a nice shade of light pink 

"oh don't worry then" I pause "but thank you actually, it's really fine so don't worry about it" Now I'm the one who gets shy and looks away towards the window 

"ok cool" The shade of pink slowly fades his cheeks but it's still visible 

the ride was silent until you noticed something

"you can drop me off here, it's fine," you say pointing to the bus stop near the school 

"Why? Are you embarrassed to be seen with me?"

"No! it's actually the opposite" you start your sentence loudly not wanting him to get the wrong idea 

"I don't care," he says in a chill way and continues driving without a care in the world  

damn... fucking butterflies again 

you get to the front of the school and he parks right in front to make it easy for you to get out of the car.

"Thanks, Chris I really appreciate it"You smile at him getting your bag from the back seat and putting it on your shoulders while he watches you move but suddenly you both jump from an unexpected knock at your side of the window

it was Hyun-jin, he waves at you and Chan; then points toward you and then towards Chan, and then shrugs his shoulder in a way of asking why I was in the car with him, your eyes widen hoping that he didn't get the wrong impression of the situation 

You thank him once more before opening the door and leaving while Hyunjin just stares at you entering the building without even saying hi to him.

Hyunjin gets in the car sitting sideways towards my way 

"What was that about?" he asked me wiggling his eyebrows 

I chuckle at his bulshit

"Did it finally happen? how was it~" he teases

"nothing happened Hyunjin, she just needed a ride and I saw her down the street and offered a ride, that's it" lying not knowing how comfortable she is letting people know she is living with me

I get home clean the kitchen and prepare myself for my classes that start at 10.

I get to the shower and it smells just like flowers, maybe it's her shampoo

Boys Planet Episode 6, Part 1 Recap

Alright, let’s cover Episode 6 with my usual mix of commentary, thoughts, analysis, reminders, screen caps, and silliness.

We start at 45 seconds in with a partial ranking, including votes so far (no distinction is made between K and G votes, or if these have already been blended using MNET math). Since 28 is the new cut off, this range may be of interest to us Star Creators. Here’s what they tell us, and I threw in their mission song and their rank as of the elimination in the previous episode:

None of the top 18 from the previous ranking has fallen into this range (though for all we know they could have fallen further, though it seems unlikely). Most of them are roughly where they were before, though the biggest story is definitely Cai Jin Xin, who was 50th at the first elimination and has jumped to 25th. It’s also worth noting that Anthonny has fallen from 19th to 31st -- kind of a big fall in context. 

Next, we can skip past the intro and recap to 1:39. The trainees are gathering to talk about their feelings… sort of. Because really this is a prank, and the staff has this woman made up to look like a scary ghost appear in front of them, and then when they run backward, a man in an obvious mask rush at them from behind. I don’t really love pranks, so I’ll focus on stuff I do enjoy: 

I like how the boys seem to be sitting in sort of random groups, not all K or all G, and they seem comfortable with each other. I hate the K-G competition stuff, and I’m so glad they do too. Like, I worry about the world and how we’re getting along with each other as a planet and stuff like this makes me feel a little better, that the basic spirit of empathy and friendship prevails even when MNET tries to drive a wedge between them.

Haruto is wearing a tiara. 

3. The mask the monster is wearing looks like it cost $3.99 at Family Dollar and I’m kind of here for it

4. Park JiHoo barely reacting to it, saying, “I told you, they totally would do this! They had to do scary stuff!” Ok, Park JiHoo, you just won me over. 

5:02 in, the episode actually starts! 

The boys all come in, and now they’re all wearing simple long sleeved white t-shirts that either say K or G, along with name tags that have their rank and name on them. I’m going to reproduce their current name and ranks here, so if at any time you are feeling like “who is that?” you can consult the list. They’re all wearing name tags with their numbers on them, so it’ll be easy enough, I hope! 

The white shirts don’t look good on any of them. Also, they all look tired. They’ve been instructed by the producers to wonder aloud about who the new star master will be (I assume). Kim Tae Rae is hoping it’ll be Hyolyn (from Sistar), and I mean, yes? That’d be great. 

But it’s Huta (Lee Minhyuk) from BTOB! A lot of the trainees seem really overwhelmed, especially Cha Woongki, who is freaking out, Kermit-meme style. For the record,  BToB debuted in 2012, and Huta was born in 1990. I liked his song “Ya” a few years back. He also has a song called “Boom” that I’d never heard but it’s got a great pre-chorus. He likes to go shirtless sometimes, and it seems like the people like it, judging by the “most played” sections of his videos. Side note: BTOB is signed under Cube, which is the same agency that Hui and his group Pentagon are from, so Huta is probably a sunbae/hyung to Hui. They don't seem to greet each other, though, so who knows.

Huta checks in with international sweetheart, Sung Hanbin, about how he feels about being ranked first place (“It made me think I should work harder from now on!”) and then checks in with Jeong I-chan, ranked 52nd, about how he feels barely having made it (“I’ll work harder from now on!”). Huta tells them all, basically, to never give up, or something, and they’re all touched. Now that everyone has decided to work harder, let’s give them a challenge!

Side note: Jeong I-chan seems to be in a better headspace now than he was at the elimination ceremony, so that’s good. 

Huta reveals the challenge: A Dual Position Battle. 

For the “Vocal & Rap” performances, they have to rearrange a song and write new raps.

For the “Vocal & Dance” performances, they have to rearrange the song and come up with their own choreography.  

For the “Rap & Dance” performances, they have to write a new rap and come up with new choreography. 

Considering that very few of these performers are likely to know how to do any of these skills, this is going to be a challenge. It’s especially cruel to expect non-native speakers of Korean to write a rap in Korean -- I wonder if they’re allowed to write a rap in English, if they speak that? Enough raps in K-pop songs are 50%+ in English that it wouldn't be unrealistic for them to write in English. I mean, risky risky wiggy wiggy this is an emergency, you know? 

Huta says, “the dual position battle will also be a battle between K and G,” and they’re all like SELMA???? (REALLLY??????) Huta doesn’t even have the heart (or cue-card reading skills) to drag out the joke, and almost immediately tells them that no, he was just kidding -- they can completely ignore the K/G divide from now on. They are all super happy to hear that. I’m happy, too!

Tomboy, originally by G-Idle; Limousine originally by BE’O, which I admit I wasn't familiar with; Man in Love originally by Infinite, which came out in 2013 and I’m not familiar with; and Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms, originally by High4 and IU. 

They’re all super excited for Tomboy, which was a massive hit. The older trainees remember Man in Love, but the younger ones have never even heard of it.

At the announcement of the Twice song, Cha Woongki starts doing the choreo, and Seo Won says, “are you ready for the group of queens?” which is important foreshadowing. You guys, I am not going to speculate on anyone’s sexuality, especially since in Korea, being gay is still considered a mental illness by many, but I will say that a lot of guys on this show are surprisingly comfortable with their feminine side, and I’m here for it! Zhang Shai Bo is losing it, since Feel Special is his favorite song of all time, and I mean, same. 

Love Killer is also my favorite song of all time. It was my ring tone for a long time until my fella got sick of my phone saying “Oh, I’m sorry, did I make you anxious?” every time someone tried to reach me about my car's extended warranty. 

Side note: Krystian seems to have redone his hair a bit, dying it a bit darker and dying his eyebrows brown again, and it looks miles better. I’m glad to see it. 

Rap & Dance

Law by Yoon Mi Rae and Bibi; Rush Hour by Crush; Zoom by Jessi; and Gang by H1ghr music. 

The trainees are overwhelmed at the idea of trying to improve on a song by Bibi, which is the correct way to feel, since Bibi is a goddess who walks amongst us. Rush Hour was already sung by Jay and Kamden in the Star Level Test, and no one wants to compete with Jay’s vocals. 

At the reveal of Zoom, Takuto says, IN KOREAN, to Haruto, “I like this song so much I set it as my morning alarm.” Two things: Takuto, you learned a lot of Korean! His pronunciation sounds good to me, not that I’m the best judge, but yeah. He could be speaking Japanese to Japanese-speaking Haruto, but he’s choosing Korean -- that’s big. Also, Takuto likes Jessi? That’s a relief, because I can’t take someone who is all aegyo all the time. 

My little cousin Kum Jung Hyeon says he’ll never do Gang, never-never-cherlte-cherlte, so you know he’ll end up doing it. 

At 15:10 in, Huta begins to explain how song selection will work, and basically, it’s this -- the lowest ranked people go first, and choose a song, but if someone higher ranked wants to push them out, they can. If you get pushed out, you have to go to a song that has room in it. Unlike in previous seasons, the arrival of a newer person doesn’t automatically kick out the lowest ranked person, though. Instead, the new person chooses the person they want to kick out. So this will be extra awkward. 

The members of the team that wins within each category will get 100,000 points each, and the one who gets the most votes within that team will also get 150,000 extra points. Also, the three teams that win get to go on MNET and get special online promotion. 

Since MNET spent their whole budget on those matching pajamas that time, this is the best they can do for a set for the song selection process, which runs from about 17:00 to 31:00. 

Is that duct tape forming the lanes? I love the chandeliers just sort of hanging there from the ceiling, just the perfect compliment for that elementary-school style indestructible gray carpet. 

I’m not going to recap the song selection beat for beat, but here are some things I enjoyed or thought were interesting:

Tomboy is the most popular and fought over song, followed closely by Love Killa.  

Krystian got a real evil edit for pushing someone out -- they were all pushing each other out like that, but only he looks "evil."

The Rap/dance songs filled up the most slowly.

I loved Ma Xing Jiang confirming that he’s in front of the correct song by doing a little of the choreo (since maybe reading English isn’t a specialty of his).

I think it’s a bummer that Yoon Jong Woo can’t do Love Killa, since I think he’d suit it really well. But I don’t know why he chose to do Home -- he said he wanted to do a performance with Seung Eun, but I still don’t understand. 

It was also a bit sad when Ricky got kicked out of Love Killa, party because I think he’d be great at it and partly because he really wanted to work with Mr. Sexy Kim Ji Woong.

I don’t think Matthew should have taken Tomboy. I think he would have done better with a lighter, sweeter concept song.

I loved it when my little cousin Kum Jeong Hyun just wanted to have General Gunwook on his own team and so was begging Sungbin to kick out Gunwook 

I loved Lee SeungHwan just being like, "yeah, alright, I’ll rap and dance, heck yeah," when he got kicked out of his team. That’s the spirit, dude! I keep low-key forgetting who Lee SeungHwan is, so I double checked. He was on the Mirotic team for the Star Level test, and he was the put-upon and hard-working leader of Lee Da Eul’s very own personal song, Danger by BTS. Oh yeah! Him! He’s a peach. 🍑

We learn, via a subtitle that is hardly addressed, that our sweet Lee Hwanhee, the main vocalist from Kill This Love-K (who is also from the nugu group Up10tion), has left the show due to health issues. I hope he’s ok. He can still sing, at least!

We also find out that the Top 9 get these fairly ugly windbreaker jackets to wear, so that’s... good…? I guess...? Also, I wonder if these fine themed garments are available for purchase at a store near me at an unreasonable price, so I can show my love for the boys through consumerism.

Seo Won feels bad as the only non-top 9 on the team -- he’s worried he will drag the team down. 

Matthew wants to be the leader to prove he’s not a baby who needs to be taken care of. I get the feeling that Kim Ji Woong doesn’t really like being the leader, and is only too happy to hand over the reins.  

When it comes time to pick someone for the killing part, English pronunciation becomes an issue, and Matthew correctly says that the feeling matters more than pronunciation since they can always work on pronunciation later. They give the part to Kim Ji Woong, which is really a good call, though I think Kim Gyuvin would do a great job at it too.

Cai Jin Xin says, “I love our team,” in English, and (a) his English is really well pronounced and (b) me too!! Woongki says the team is well balanced, because they have two G and two K team members. Also, as Jin Xin points out, “only the pretty guys are here.” I will say that this seems to be the Team Full of Queens that Seo Won prophesied earlier, and again, I am totally here for it. 

They are realizing that it might be a tough job, because they’re all comparatively low ranked, and also, the music is really high pitched. They are given a version of the song in a lower key, but I feel like they could lower it further, right? They are allowed to rearrange the song. Because it’s so high, no one wants the main vocal, or even a normal amount of stage time. Woongki, who seems to be taking on an actual leadership role in addition to the Killing Part, encourages the others to be confident, saying that this might be their last stage so they should take the chance to stand in the center one more time. He interviews later on that he’s never had to beg people to take parts before!

They’re distributing the parts, which of course is tricky here since there are a lot of great vocalists on this team. Ji Hoon is still really really bummed to not get to work on Love Killa, but he’s consoled a bit by getting to work with a good team who seem to all respect and like him. 

The original choreo is a lot, and the chorus is really high. Naturally they give the main vocals to titanium voiced Yoo Seung Eon whose voice is like, Exo quality. I love Kim Tae Rae, but I have to admit that Seung Eon is the best vocalist on the show, better even than Hui. 

The team is trying to decide who will take which dance position, so they dance to “Na bina”, which is kind of funny.

This team has a nice sense of camaraderie. 

Lim Jun Seo is lacking in skills, and is open about that, which I have mixed feelings about. Honesty is good, but you need to have a positive attitude. The other boys on the team promise to help him -- Chen Kaun Jui offers to help him with his dancing, and Cong offers to help with his singing, saying, in Korean, “I too. Vocal.” Jun Seo replies by calling him “hyung,” which makes Cong smile. Cong’s Korean is obviously still a bit elementary; that’s not a criticism, just a note. I have all the sympathy in the world for the global trainees who don’t know Korean. 

Incidentally, we see in a flashback that Lee Da Eul volunteered both of them to go first on the first day, and he did that knowing that Jun Seo did NOT want to go first, and I’ll let all 2-3 of you reading this decide for yourself whether that’s a cool thing to do or not.

Anyway, they are trying to decide who gets the killing part based on freestyle dance, and Jun Seo is like, so we’ll learn the choreo quickly? And it’s like, no honey, no, you sweet child. Once he realizes what freestyle means, he’s out. I’m like, “Just give the killing part to CKJ already, because you know he deserves it,” and they do.

I hate that the story is mostly about Jun Seo, instead of being about the far more talented Chen Kuan Jui. I didn’t like CKJ much at first that much for whatever reason, but he’s grown on me a lot. I think he’s sweet, hard working, and an incredible dancer. I don’t think he’ll make it onto the final lineup, but I hope we keep seeing him around the kpop verse.

This team consists of mostly people who got kicked out of the song they wanted. So, their spirits are kind of low. My little cousin and noted yeller Kum Jun Hyeon is bummed out -- he really wanted that bleepin’ Tomboy. And none of them have any experience making choreo. I do think that my little muffin Mun Jung Hyun knows something about rapping, and that maybe Lee Jeong Hyeon does too, so fingers crossed. 

Side note: Chen Jian Yu looks great with his current hair color. Miles better than the light blue and also better than the dark color he had in the Star Level Test. 

No one steps forward to make the choreo, so my little cousin Kum Jun Hyeon finally steps up, saying, “Although I can’t guarantee the quality, if I didn’t do it, I didn’t think anyone else could do it.” I find that very charming. Fighting, little cuz!  

WHAT KIND OF PERFORMANCE WILL THEY PREPARE???? We’ll find out…

Naturally, they make him leader -- I knew that as soon as I saw that he was on the team. 

And they start practicing the Killing Part -- it’s that beginning part, “I see you looking at my P-I-C,” and they all want it. Hyunbeen says that they’re all wary and competitive with each other, and he’s especially desperate to win the extra points because of his low rank. He wins the killing part, though, so he’s over the moon. Oh god, are the judges going to tell his team to give the killing part to someone else?

This team is excited to be working together at first -- both Wang Zi Hao and Lee Yedam are among the very best dancers on the show. However, most of them are not really rappers -- they’re just vocalists. Park Hanbin says, “I rap like I’m reading a book.” Hey, we saw Lee Yedam rap in his Star Level test, and he was really good! But they’re worried anyway -- most of them don’t specialize in rapping and they don’t know how to write lyrics. Oh no! A lot of trainees I really like are on this team. Well, to be fair, I like almost all the trainees at this point, so I could say that about pretty much any of the teams. 

It does seem that Na Kamden has some vague idea of how to write rap, at least. That’s really all you need -- one person who can write a rap and teach it to the others. Fighting, Kamden! Yujin steps up, too, saying, “I did learn a bit about rap.” Meanwhile, the other three can make the choreo. They’re going to get through it! 

Side note: Did they make Han Yujin at the same laboratory where they made Sung Hanbin? Do they also make purse sized dragons there? Little dragons that will love you and be loyal to you? Is that the kind of thing they also make at this laboratory? I hope I can visit there someday. 

Team: Rush Hour

By the time we visit them, they’re already dancing. We can see from their sign thing in the background that Ricky has the Killing Part, and is both main dancer and main rapper; and we watch as Oh Sungmin is unanimously voted the leader. He’s the oldest, he used to be in a debuted group (TOO/T01) and he’s also the only 3 star (and there aren’t any 4 stars). So, that makes sense. But it does seem odd to me to be starting the choreography when they haven’t written their raps yet…?

Naturally, it’s hard to teach Takuto. You can see that he’s doing the steps more like they’re the steps from “Na Bina.” Sungmin is trying -- he even says “Daijobou?” to Takuto, which is Japanese for “Ok?” -- but he’s going too fast for someone like Takuto, and he’s going to need to break it down a LOT more. 

Meanwhile, Ma Jing Xiang is trying to move ahead, and there’s an interview from Hiroto about how MJX is just “thinking about himself,” how he did the same thing in Very Nice, trying to learn the choreo from the K-team who were so far ahead. Ricky apparently is studying the choreography video, and again, we’re told that this is bad, but why? Ricky speaks a few languages and is a kind soul, and I bet he’s trying to learn the choreo at least in part to be able to help his teammates. But the show makes this looks selfish, and Oh Sungmin interviews, “We need to work on our teamwork first.” 

I don’t understand this take. Why does the word “teamwork” seem to mean “We have to get Takuto step-perfect on each dance phrase before the team can go to the next phrase”? Couldn’t teamwork mean, “We work on different things to get the whole job done”? Doesn’t it only benefit the team to have more people who know the choreo and music in general? While Takuto does the same 10 steps over and over, why should the whole team do that? Especially considering that Takuto is in the safety zone, rank wise, while MJX is definitely not and needs to do everything in his power to put on a good show. Takuto can go ahead and screw this up and he’ll still probably make it through the next elimination round. And that’s a bummer, but that’s how these shows are. 

Ok, let me out myself. I’m a teacher. WHAT? Yeah. I am. I don’t work at a school -- I teach adults, who sometimes are older than me, as well as teenagers and little kids. It’s a weird job and I’m not YOUR teacher so don’t worry about it, ok? Alright. So we go that out of the way. And the thing about being a good teacher is that you have a responsibility to the students who are ahead just as much as to the students who are behind, and a lot of teachers don’t know how to fulfill that obligation.

And it’s not really Oh Sungmin’s fault that he doesn’t know how to be a really great teacher, but I think that if I were there, I’d advise him to not worry right now about Takuto getting the choreo perfect. It’s going to take a lot of work before that happens, and it’s not going to be today. They should be going for the big picture, and making sure that everyone has a chance to get the basics of their routine down so that it becomes possible for people to do individual practice later. It’s like putting together the frame of the jigsaw puzzle first, and then putting together the pieces in the middle. The frame helps you get started and know where to put the other pieces.

Ok that was probably more than you cared to read but anyway. That’s how I feel. This is dumb and irritating.

They’ve elected Dongyeol, who is a member of the group Up10tion, their leader, and that makes sense. 

The team is sitting around listening to the song, and Mingyu is saying it’s nostalgic for him, and WAIT is that a hickey on TaeRae’s neck?

I mean it’s not. Is it? It’s not. It can’t be. But also, whoever makes out with TaeRae, please be gentle to his neck, ok? That’s where he keeps his singing parts. He needs those. For singing. 

Anyway, the team is talking about how much they like the song. Mingyu and Dongyeol, age 23 and 24 respectively, remember and like the song, while Tae Rae didn’t know it before but liked it when he heard it prior to song selection. Tae Rae thinks it suits his voice well, and Mingyu agrees, interviewing that he’s grateful that Tae Rae joined the team. I'm grateful that Tae Rae joined life!

They each try the killing part, and Dongyeol sings a bit, and his voice is actually much better than I thought it was, though he cracks a bit. When he’s done, no one reacts, so he applauds a tiny bit for himself until everyone else joins in. Aww. Then TaeRae sings and it’s so nice. It’s just… yeah. Listen, I know that titanium voice kid, Yoo Seung Eon, has a better voice, but I like TaeRae’s better. It’s like how Chen from EXO has a better voice than D.O., but I’d rather listen to D.O. 

Meanwhile, Choi Woojin is having trouble even finding the note to sing. I’m kind of surprised he chose vocals, but maybe he was scared to write a rap? In that case, what is he good at? I watched his Hot Sauce and Nunu Nana performances, and he was basically a backup dancer in both -- he doesn’t seem to be a vocalist in any way, either as a singer or a rapper. What a bummer that we lost Hong Keon Hee and Kim Min Seong, because both of those were in the Nunu Nana group with him and both did a much better job in their various performances. 

Red house Mingyu sings really really loud, apparently, and Woojin sings very quietly, so this will be tough.

Anthonny has been elected leader, but Park Jihoo ends up kind of stepping up to lead. He suggests that they think about what the song is really about -- it’s about a man achieving his dreams. They’re working on achieving their own dreams, so he thinks they can focus on that in their raps. 

Trainees writing raps about how they’re trainees who want to debut? 

Krystian is on his Very Best Behavior, and calls Jihoo, “Park Jihoo-shi,” which is kind of ridiculous given that Jihoo is seven years younger than him. He would still be polite in Korean standards to call him “Jihoo-ah” or something like that, and I bet he knows that. 

Krystian calls him “mature” (in English), and since he can’t find the right word in Korean, explains it as, “you know what you’re doing.” And Jihoo agrees: “Genius, genius,” he says in English, of himself. Jihoo is a hoot. 

(Incidentally, Jihoo says he’s 18, because he uses the Korean age system, which says you’re a year old at birth, and that also calculates your age based on the year it is, whether or not your birthday has happened yet. So he’s really 16, and will be turning 17 in July, by international standards.)

Oh boy. This team. MNET gives them exactly one minute of screen time and most of that is just mocking their past performances. 

I think Bak Doha is a decent guy who just needed better advice from his agency and more realistic goals in life, and I hope he makes it as an actor. Jung I-chan has been at this a long time and must have some talent or he wouldn’t keep making it halfway on shows like this, but he’s yet to really prove himself at a key moment. And you guys know how I feel about Lee Daeul -- I don’t like being unkind so I literally cannot say anything about him, whether it be about his personality, past behavior, or observable skill set. It would be such a redemption moment if any of these three could do something great in their performance, but I’m not exactly holding my breath. I’ll say though that I-chan has the best attitude he can have, considering.

This team is a little TOO stacked. Three of them are top 9, and General Gunwook is in 10th place. They have three excellent leaders on the team -- Hui, Zhang Hao, and Gunwook would all make excellent leaders. And they have three excellent candidates for a center/killing part roll - basically, anyone but Hui would do a fantastic job at it. (Not that Hui can’t, but the others are that bit better.)

Gunwook says, “You can’t have a better team than this. As if I were Liu Bei, who gained Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, my shoulders kept rising.”

Ok, a few things about this. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen Koreans talk about “shoulders rising” as if that indicates pride or confidence -- maybe it’s a bit like “holding your head up high” in English idiom. Makes intuitive sense, too.  

Next, it’s as if General Gunwook knows that I call him General Gunwook, because he’s making a reference to Liu Bei. Lui Bei was a Chinese warlord (born in the year 166) who founded Shu Han, one of the Three Kingdoms of China. Liu Bei gathered a team together during the Yellow Turban Revolution of 184, which I’m sure you already know all about, and gathered a group of loyal followers, including Guan Yu and  Zhang Fei. So Gunwook is positing himself as a Warlord Emperor, and his teammates as his loyal generals. Love it.

The show seems to be implying that Gunwook is a little too solicitous of his team, fetching the lyric sheet and getting pens for them and stuff, but that’s what you do when you’re a polite younger person in Korean culture, and Gunwook is a polite guy. Of course he’ll get a pen for someone who is 11 years older than him! 

Zhang Hao says that Gunwook was scary in Kill This Love, but now he’s a cute and sweet dongsaeng (younger sibling/friend). He seems genuinely surprised, but I’m not at all. Gunwook expands to fill the space -- if no leader is present, he’ll lead, and if one is present, he’ll follow. He’s a General, but he recognizes Hui as a Major General, and will follow commands.  He’s also smart and wouldn’t want to look like a rude kid on TV! 

Zhang Hao really wants the killing part, and so do Sung Hanbin and Hui. I think Zhang Hao is by far the best, and General Gunwook agrees with me, but the win goes to Sung Hanbin. That’s kind of a bummer but given how popular he is I guess it’ll work out well for the team. Zhang Hao is a class act -- he’s bummed, but he knows that Hanbin is also really good. So he sets himself the challenge of being able to rap quickly in Korean, reasoning that if Yuqi from G-Idle can do it, so can he! Hanbin is helping him and he’s improving already. Zhang Hao, fighting! 

Side note: Kind of funny that they’re not acknowledging that Hui is from the same agency (Cube) that G-Idle is from. Hui probably knows Soyeon and Yuqi and the girls, at least in passing. I kind of wonder whether Hui and Soyeon get along? They’re both music producers who lead their teams and take responsibility for their members, so they have all that in common. On the other hand, sometimes people don’t like each other if they’re too much alike. Man, imagine if Soyeon and Hui teamed up, Triple-H style? Or even better, just a Pentagon/G-Idle crossover group, NCT style, where they just use whichever members from either group that would work in a particular song? Sigh. A girl can dream.

I'm giving this show a 9 overall. The storyline was very interesting even when it was frustrating. J-Min was definitely my favorite part of the show but that should surprise no one since I already loved him.😂His characters kisses with An left a little to be desired but they kind of wrote it into An's character that he wasn't that into it which was good writing I think and made sense for him. This show dealt with some heavy topics so I'm not likely to watch it a lot but I would definitely rewatch with a friend and will definitely recommend it to others. I also really enjoyed Minwoo and Maru. They were super cute. I could take or leave the third couple mainly because of how frustrating watching them get together was but they too were endearing by the end.

Also I just read your post about writers getting requests/ideas sent to them and not doing anything w them and I totally agree. I’ve sent ideas and just happy messages/positive feedback in general to writers who asked for it and I understand that people can’t write everyone’s requests or immediately respond to everyone’s messages but like at least respond to them at some point? And send requests you can’t write to someone else who can write them? I’d be so excited go to a reader whose work I really admired and send them excited messages/feedback and ideas that I wanted to share with them and thought they’d like and then they make a post saying something that’s like “I’m deleting all my asks sorry” or about how they can’t get to everyone so they just ignore or delete them and I’m like “ok….”. Like that is an actual human being that just came to you so excited and happy to talk and share something with you and you just ignore them? It was always so weird to me 🧍‍♀️ I’d be so appreciative/ecstatic if I was in their shoes

It’s usually the writers who have tons of followers who do that (at least in my experience) and if you send them anything that’s not 100% positive, you get an army of their mutuals and followers to immediately attack you which isn’t fun. Not all popular fic writers though because there are popular fic writers who are so, so sweet and genuinely try to get to everyone’s asks. I’ve never seen someone share what I thought about writers ignoring asks/messages so I’m glad you feel the same lol

At A Distance, Spring Is Green -BL Version (Yeo Jun x Nam Soo Hyun)-Chapter 13 : Do you have someone that you like?

"Isn't Jjangymyeon what we eat on moving days?"  

"Yes, and there's yours right there." Yeo Jun pointed  to a bowl sitting on the table.

"Right." Looking at the table, Soo Hyun was puzzled. It was laden with atleast 5 different dishes, more than enough for the two of them.

"I always enjoy having a variety of dishes." Yeo Jun explained. "This is also your welcoming party."

Soo Hyun looked at an unfamiliar dish. "What's this?"

"Nanjianwanzi." Jun replied. "The one I ordered is delicious."

"I finally get to see it for real and not just on a menu." Soo Hyun said. "It looks like minced pork, but I bet it's quite expensive."

"Are you planning to greet all of the dishes?" Yeo Jun asked Soo Hyun " 'Hello, it's nice to meet you.'" he teased.

Soo Hyun took up his chopsticks. "What's so special about this?" he took up a slice of meat and bit into it.

Yeo Jun watched as he took a bite, hoping he would like it "How is it?" he asked

"What?" Soo Hyun chewed the deliciousness a few times. "It tastes just like meat." He pointed to the abundance of food "What about these leftovers?"

"Cut the lecturing and just dig in." Yeo Jun told him with a smile. He leaned on the table "I think we'll be great roommates."

"Are you serious?" Soo Hyun looked at him.

"It's what I want." Jun replied.Still looking at Soo Hyun he added "I'm looking forward to this." He took up his glass and extended it to Soo Hyun "Let's cheers to that."

Soo Hyun smiled and clinked his own glass "Cheers."

After dinner, Soo Hyun helped to clear the dishes and put the leftovers away.

Having worked so hard over the last few days, he was tired and immediately retired to the couch in Jun's living room.

Using his arms as a pillow, he spanned the length of the furniture as he laid on his side and closed his eyes.

Yeo Jun walked to the couch that Soo Hyun was laying on. A smile was on his lips as he watched him. Soo Hyun's eyes were closed, his bang resting atop his lids. He really was a handsome person.

Reaching for the blanket laying on the side of the couch, Yeo Jun unfolded it and spread it on Soo Hyun, covering him to his chest.

He stayed in that position, inspecting Soo Hyun. Though he often told him it was weird when he smiled he actually liked it. Whenever he did, his dimples would make an appearance and he would look that much cuter.

Yeo Jun reached out and tenderly swept Soo Hyun's bangs to the side.

Ba dump! Ba dump Ba dump!. His heart thumped in his chest.

What was this feeling?

A little startled, Yeo Jun quickly retracted his hand and left the room.

Nam Soo Hyun slowly opened his eyes after Yeo Jun the room. Slowly, he reached his hand out and touched the place that Yeo Jun just touched. That feeling was back again.

3 Days Later

"I still don't know what I want to do with my life." Kim So-Bin told Soo Hyun as they walked from their class. "Pathetic right?"

"That's unexpected." Soo Hyun replied. "You've always been very assiduous."

"Thanks Soo Hyun." So-Bin smiled at him. "You're more affectionate than you seem."

"I was only stating a fact." Soo Hyun replied. 

She smiled at him again. "So how is the roommate situation for you?" she changed the subject. "Jun's excited because he thinks you will get along."

"Get along?" Soo Hyun parrotted. "Jun and me?"

"Did something happen between you two?" So-Bin was curious.

Soo Hyun thought about it. For the past 3 days, his interactions with Yeo Jun were ones that definitely required some getting used to.

Take this morning for example. He'd been on his way out when Jun greeted him with a big smile, the table laden with food once more, inviting him to eat.

"There you go. Dig in." Jun pointed him to the table "Breakfasts should be big."

"But I'm late for class." he'd tried to object only to be met with a pout from his new roommate. In the end, he had to agree. "Ok. Let's eat."

He'd dug in immediately, eating spoonful after spoonful as fast as he could.

"Slow down will you?" Yeo Jun complained "I added some good quality mushrooms in there, so savour the flavours."

Soo Hyun stopped eating. "Savour them?" he questioned. "They're nothing but black chunks of mushrooms."

"It's truffle. Which costs 300,000 won per 100 mg."  Jun informed him.

Hearing this, Soo Hyun choked on his next bite.

"Watch yourself." cautioned.

"What?" Soo Hyun asked in disbelief "What exactly is this? 300,000 won did you say? Are you out of your mind?"

Jun was unbothered. "It's a bit too much for breakfast I guess.I wanted to have it with wine in the evening but you're too busy with your part time jobs."

"That's not what I mean." Soo Hyun was still in disbelief. He looked at his plate. "How can you eat mushrooms that are pricier than rib-eye?" He looked at Jun while he scolded. "Don't you ever buy this again."

Even though he was being scolded, Yeo Jun smiled at Soo Hyun and nodded. "Right. Sure thing." he agreed.

"Can't you talk to Jun for me?" Soo Hyun asked So-Bin after relaying the story of the mushrooms. "Tell him to keep the truffle to himself.I've had indigestion ever since I heard its price."

"Sure." So-Bin as the friend between them nodded in agreement.

"How can mushrooms be more than how much I spend on food for the entire month?" Soo Hyun grumbled to himself as he left So-Bin behind. "One can get mushrooms in the woods you know." he reasoned.

Yeo Jun really was a different person, he shook his head as he ruminated on this things, leaving So-Bin watching him with a knowing smile on her face.

Ding Dong!

The ringing of the doorbell pulled Soo Hyun towards it.

When he opened the door there was no one there. What was there were boxes. Lots and lots of boxes.

He shook his head and brought them in.

"My things are here." Yeo Jun commented when he saw the items.

"You bought all of this?" Soo Hyun asked

"Mn." Yeo Jun nodded. "I needed new clothes."

Soo Hyun looked at him. He highly doubted Jun needed new clothes.

"Let's try them on." Jun excitedly ripped the boxes open.

"Ta-Da." a pleased Yeo Jun preened as he looked at himself in the mirror after trying on one of his outfits. "What do you think?" he asked Soo Hyun, adjusting this  part and that part. "Doesn't it suit me perfectly?"

Soo Hyun looked at him from head to toe. "I've seen you wear that many times."

Jun was shocked by this response. "What?" he looked at himself. "What do you mean? It's brand new."

Soo Hyun was confused. "But I've seen it before." 

Jun sighed and grabbed Soo Hyun's hand "Follow me."

Soo Hyun had no choice but to follow.

"Ta-Da." Yeo Jun led him to his closet.

Soo Hyun looked at the scene before him. "Why do you have so many of the same clothes?" he asked after scanning the closet.

Jun sighed again. It was obvious he didn't get it.

"A V-neck, a round neck, over-fit, slim-fit, white as snow and white with a little splash of ivory ." Jun touched different pieces of clothes. "They're in different colours, fabric and style." he explained to Soo Hyun who was only seeing all the same items.

"You have money to waste, is that it? He was scolding Jun again "They all seem the same to me."

"Does everyone having straight bangs make everyone Nam Soo Hyun?" Jun argued. "No. Right?"

Soo Hyun eyed him "You must think you're so clever." Stuffing his hands in his pockets he walked away.

"Go ahead and choose one.It's a welcoming gift!" Jun called after him. 

Soo Hyun ignored him.

"Don't you think you should find someone to date?" Yeo Jun asked Soo Hyun was they walked from their apartment on the way to school.

"It'll never happen." Soo Hyun replied.

"Are you sure? Why not?"

"You don't come across decent people that easily." Soo Hyun replied.

"I'm sure there will be someone for you." Jun told him.

"You're sure?" he stopped walking to look at the one beside him.

"Because you're a decent guy." Jun looked at him.

"Only say what you mean." Soo Hyun said

Jun smiled at him. "Got it." He started walking again. "Besides, that girl seems to like you."

"What girl?" Soo Hyun enquired. "That one. So-Bin's roommate."

Soo Hyun thought about it momentarily.

"Oh. Mn."

"Mn?" Jun queried. "What kind of response is that?"

"I don't like her." he said flatly.

Hearing this string of words lifted Jun's heart a bit. "Well...do you have someone that you like?" he glanced at Soo Hyun

Soo Hyun looked at him. "Mn." he nodded. "I think so."

Jun bit his lip "Who is it?" he asked "Maybe I can help you."

"Help me how?"

"I don't know. I'm usually pretty good at this kind of thing."

Soo Hyun raised a brow. "Really?" Jun nodded. "Then what about you?" he asked Jun.

"What about me?"

"Don't you have someone you like?" Soo Hyun asked.

Yeo Jun thought about it for a moment and then nodded. "I think so."

Soo Hyun nodded as they kept walking. "Aren't you going to ask who it is?" Yeo Jun questioned.

Soo Hyun shook his head. "I'm sure if you wanted me to know, there is nothing I could do to stop you from telling me."

Yeo Jun smiled at him.

Later that day

Did he forget what happened last time?

Why is he messing with her again?

Isn't she just Yeo Jun's friend?

I heard they were dating.

They seem pretty close.

She's not even that pretty.

They're always together.

They can't really be dating.

Is this okay to do?

The comments online were fast and furious as Chun-Guk streamed live. He needed to find a way to get back Yeo Jun. He couldn't touch Nam Soo Hyun but So-Bin was weak and would be less likely to defend herself.

Who did Jun think he was? He'd gotten into so much trouble after that one fight.

"I can't believe this idiot is actually going through with it." San Tae said outloud as he watched the live stream.

"Who? Doing what?" Gung-Ho arrived.

Sang Tae attempted to put his phone away. "No one. I know nothing."

Not buying it, Gung-Ho grabbed his phone.

"What's this? Isn't that Kim So-Bin?"

"Yes." Sang Tae confirmed.

"What about her?" Jun, who was passing by questioned.

Neither of the nervous looking boys answered.

"Tell me. What about her?" Jun shouted.

Sang Tae reluctantly handed the phone to Jun.

[Having fun with a college student]. Jun's pupils shrank when he saw what was happening.

"Where is she?" he asked.

"I don't know and I'm not at fault here." Sang Tae replied. 

"What?" Jun was incredulous .He looked at Sang Tae in disgust. "You only mentioned it so of course  you're not at fault. But if anything happens to her, you'll be considered as an accomplice."

"Why?" Sang Tae was rattled

"Because you conspired with him." Jun replied. "You'll be questioned by the police which could lead to being an ex-con at 20."

"But.." Jun's words were clearly getting to Sang Tae "I really don't know where that is." He turned to Gung-Ho. "Gung-Ho. Where is that place?"

Gung-Ho skimmed a glance. "Isn't that Chun-Guk's club room. Check the cabinets."

More people who had gathered at the scene took a look at the feed. "Right. It looks like it." They agreed.

At this confirmation, Yeo Jun took off running, fuelled by his anger.

He dialled So-Bin's number. No answer.

The distance to the club room seemed endless.

The stairs to get to the doorway were just as neverending.

Jun's legs ached and he was winded from the running but he needed to get there.

When he finally arrived the door was locked.

"So-Bin!" he called.

From the other side he could hear screams and signs of a struggle.

With his adrenaline pumping, he kicked the door open.

What he saw was enough to make him sick to his stomach.

Seeing red, he lunged at Chun-Guk.

"Let go of her you jerk!" he hit him in the face, causing him to stumble into the cabinets.

He hauled him to his feet. "Get up!"

"I'm sorry." Chun-Guk wailed, rubbing his hands fervently together as he pleaded.

Yeo Jun raised his fist but the blow was suspended in mid-air. This scene. This image of someone cowering in fear in the corner, rubbing pleading hands together haunted him.It provoked memories long forgotten, deeply buried.

As these blurred images manifested, Jun tossed Chun-Guk aside and turned to So-Bin.

"Are you alright?"

"Jun. Watch out!" So-Bin screamed.

Chun-Guk hurled an object towards him before grabbing him by the collar.

The two exchanged blows, Jun's anger reaching dangerous levels, refusing to back down. They were in a deadlock, knowing that whomever got their hands free first would deliver the next blow.

The next blow however was not dealt by either of them but by Young-Ran who came charging in with a kick to Chun-Guk's stomach that dislodged him.

Within seconds more footsteps could be heard as security personnel arrived.

"So-Bin. Are you alright?" Jun asked his friend who'd been cast aside in the fray.

Tears were in her eyes as she shook her head.

"I'm sorry." Jun pulled her into an embrace. "It's my fault. I'm sorry."

"Are you guys alright?" Young-Ran asked the two.

"Young-Ran. How did you get here?" a bloodied Jun asked.

"I came looking for Soo Hyun and I saw the live. I had to wring it out of his idiot friends to find where you were."

Jun nodded. "Thank you."

"I had to come. I don't think Soo Hyun would want you guys to be hurt. You mean alot to him."

With difficulty, since he was feeling pains in some parts, Jun stood to his feet and helped So-Bin to stand.

"Let's get you cleaned up." she looked at Jun's bloodied face.

People were still gathered when the three exited the building.

Just minutes before Chun-Guk had been led away by security.Now a bloodied Yeo Jun appeared.

The whispers were endless.

Jun didn't care about those whispers, nor did he care about those curious eyes.

It had taken him too long to make true friends and he would be damned if anyone dared try to mess with them.

To mess with them, was to mess with him and one fact was true--- the person behind that dazzling smile was never to be taken lightly.

and yess i'm really excited for the upcoming holidays! i've also almost finished my school semester so i have a few weeks off uni ♡ (there are still a few finals coming in january but they won't need too much studying so i can relax for now). i really hope you're doing well too! i know december can be tough for a lot of people so i'm sending you lots of love

ooh female driven dramas and female friendships...

the first drama that comes to my mind is work later, drink now because its second season is currently airing! this is a fun and silly show that isn’t perfect but the friendship they share is nicely written and they they’d do anything for each other.  yesterday i watched an interview with the writer and she explained that the trio was strongly inspired by her own friend group..... and that makes sense!! you can feel that the characters were written with love and tenderness

then, there’s of course age of youth and be melodramatic! i feel like age of youth became a classic and i believe it deserves all the love! be melodramatic is like its older version with 30-ish leads instead of uni students. i rarely laugh when watching shows but both got me laughing out loud. actually, some eps even made me scream of laughter! 

i can’t talk about female friendships without mentioning na heedo and go yurim from twenty-five, twenty-one... i know a lot of people hated the drama because of the main couple’s ending but to me the real duo of the drama was the two girls and their relationship was so beautifully written... honestly, every drama i’ve seen with bona as a lead actress had awesome female friendships! i can feel she’s all for the girlies?? i’ve already mentioned twenty-five twenty one but she was also in girls’ generation 1979* (an underrated gem, i wish more people would watch it!!!) and in your house helper (i’d rec this one for people who liked be melodramatic, although it’s less funny). she’s an idol actress so you’d expect her to play forgettable characters but she manages to always pick very interesting roles so i’m closely following her carreer as an actress! ♡

omg i didn’t mean to talk so much........ fzeklfjzfgé do you agree with those faves? if you also like female-driven dramas and great female friendships in dramas, i’d love to hear about your own favorites! (i mostly watch kdramas but if you have any recs from other countries i’d be glad to hear about them!)

*i need to say that one of the lead actors is lee jong hyun (ex-member of cn blue) and that he was part of the burning sun scandal. it’s one of my favorite drama and even if the main roles are the two girls, he’s still part of the lead cast. i don’t want to promote this drama without mentioning this

I love that you come in here and specifically throw embers on my ever-burning passion for my faves like ok. So much to talk about and cover.

1.First Game Thane

I'm always putzing around this thought because I love a "they've met before" romance so that's what I've written for Dan Hyun + Thane, but like, honestly, though only a few years lesser, I feel like he would have been a lot harder of a person. Maybe not harder, but a bit deeper into the personal angst of his life. I personally feel like the attack on the Citadel was a bit of an eye opener for galactic players, and I like to imagine, what if this shifted Thane's attention to a wider point of view and spurred him to actually start considering more about what he should do with his life?

A first game companion Thane would have been so nice because it would have given us the time to really get to know him and let him share his backstory instead of speed running everything that happened and jumping straight to making out in me2. And I think it would have capitalized on this super romantic pining that Thane has with Shepard in ME2 by extending it into ME1 and letting it express and peak at a natural point in ME2 T_T So unromancable in 1, maybe watching Shepard inspires him bit by bit and opens him a little more, and in between ME1 and ME2 he's still a bit stuck in what he thinks he can do (take from the world) but ME2 gives him an opportunity to think differently... Yeah it's really up to personal interpretation but I think he's perfect for a long, pining, slow burn <3

2.Kai Leng Companion ME2

OKAY I have that Shepard as a companion template I made and I REALLY wanted to make one for Kai I'm just tacking away at my Dan Hyun Dossier first to #iron out the details of my canon.

My base thoughts are this: After Rasa betrayed TIM by making off with the clone, TIM has concerns about Kai's potential loyalty to the cause. Because they were both partners, she could have planted some doubts in his head.

TIM decides to give Kai what he wants: the feeling that he's going to be humanity's challenger to the reapers; by assigning him to Project Lazarus with Miranda and Jacob. He expects that putting him with Shepard will motivate him to commit himself further to Cerberus by giving him a rival, and distracting him from Rasa's fate. He and Jacob share opposite sides of the armory and Jacob frequently is trying to avoid talking to him because he hates arguing with this loser.

His loyalty would be something pivotal to his feelings about Cerberus, getting to the root of why he joined and his past with the Alliance... and if you succeed in getting his loyalty, he'd try to join up with Shepard post Citadel II coup (after maybe NOT murdering Thane just injuring him in a loyalty earned scenario?) . Then Shepard could reject or accept his help.

Idk who you'd fight in the final battle before Earth though! Something I need to think about. I always hoped you could just kill TIM there and then maybe have some other conflict at the Crucible but that needs to simmer more in my brain.

I don't even need to talk about the enemies to lovers potential of this right? Do I ? the fact that they're again foils, both used by pro human organizations as weapons and shaped up to be martyrs for causes that exist beyond them? The way they are literally engineered to be super humans by cerberus? Kai's contempt stemming from this maybe helping Shepard realize the doomed fates they've both been regultated to? Sometimes it takes seeing someone in a worse place than us to show us the truth of where we stand O_O ...

3.Shepard Shared History with Kai

FOR REAL. My background is too specific for me to want to call it canon BUT. I think Kai should've shared a combat tour with Shepard. Honestly that's pretty much all it could've taken! You too can have your Shepard have a rich and interesting story with Kai Leng!

One combat tour where something went sourly wrong (you decide what <3) and their paths split. Soon after, Shepard was on the Normandy, and Kai, with Cerberus. It literally would've made everything about him make more sense. I suppose the codex of his service record implies that he was always following after Shepard in some ways but like. No one's gonna read into that unless you're a speculative fan like me!

Anyway, tl;dr, YES YES YES YES YES (cries in neglected character hell)

-❀•≫ Humm okay once again I may have went a bit out of canon for this one but I strongly believe we were robbed 👍 still not over this betrayal !!

-❀•≫ Like. They actually have more things in common than what we first see. Struggling with harmful behavior for themselves ? Past depression for Jae-Heon ? (He was an alcoholic, he was probably not ok at all at some point of his life) They're also both pretty much socially awkward despite being really caring people and quite sacrifical when it comes to their closed ones. What I'm trying to say is that they could understand each other and support each other with their negative experiences.

-❀•≫ Jae-Heon was more into protecting Hyun-Su than most of the people in the building. Even tho he never vocally said he was against it (except that one time when Hyun-Su saved them, he said "What was the point of saving him if we just lock him up again") he never really was into Eun-Hyeok's methods and defended Hyun-Su against Ji-Su when she threatened him with her bat, despite Hyun-Su being spotted as an infected one

-❀•≫ Hyun-Su also cried two times I believe : at Du-Sik's death, and Jae-Heon's death. It felt genuinely heartbreaking, seeing him trying his best to get to him and seeing him die without being able to do anything. Probably one of the best scenes in my opinion ! I want to believe he really cared about him, being his first support along with Du-Sik

-❀•≫ I'm genuinely kinda mad they didn't deepen their friendship that much ? But honestly Jae-Heon was underdevelloped when it comes to some of his friendships 😭 I'm sorry but I just know he would have went to eat with Sang-Wook, Hyun-Su and Gil-Seob if only the scenarist have let him 💀

-❀•≫ Anyway they're just ! Really dear to me ! They're two of my favs characters in that hell of a show, and I would have loved to see them interact more 💔

AU hcs :

-❀•≫ Jae-Heon would cook some healthy food for Hyun-Su so he can eat something else than cheap ramyeons.

-❀•≫ Hyun-Su never takes alcohol in restaurants, bars, etc, when Jae-Heon is around as a support symbol ! (Not like it's really hard for him anyway, he's not that much of a fan)

-❀•≫ I think Jae-Heon is pretty sporty, and he's probably the kind to run the sunday. After Hyun-Su started to feel a bit better about going outside and all, he proposed him to go run together, they tend to go grab a nice meal together after the run

-❀•≫ They support each other a lot in their recovery ! They always hype up the other every month they're clean from alcohol from one and self h*rm for the other

Hmm… since you ask my personal opinion, then, please keep in mind that what i thought may contradict with yours, Anon.

I think, for me, Ep. 6 needs re-write and a little bit fixing. I'm talking about the sudden appearance of our lovely Sister, Nerissa. Not that i don't like her, don't get me wrong. Nerissa is obviously the only one who cares about the Traveler in the first place when no one in their family could. That's a great quality of a sibling, i like her.

Her appearance in Ep.6 kinda.. contradictive with what Vexx stated in Ep. 5. Since Vexx has said, "Nerissa was there, and before i knew what was happening, the sound of my own gun was ringing through my ears." That, and, "She was in my arms, and the blood… there was so much blood… it was all over me, soaked through my skin." (I think the statement was like that? Correct me if that's not, Anon).

Those two statements showed how Vexx watch the death of Nerissa in front of his very eyes. He hold her, even. It mean Nerissa was literally dead. Even though the state of his mind was questionable and not under his own control when it happened, Vexx had no doubt our sister really is dead there.

And since the start, the Traveler even convinced that their Sister was gone. They had no doubt, too.

And, i kinda get it why Nerissa Appearance in Ep. 6 confused or shocked some of the players.

If, if the Author want to reveal Nerissa in Ep. 6 still alive, they should made the Traveler in doubt whether Nerissa is already gone or not since the start. You know, like, putting a line or some that hinted Nerissa is still alive out there. Or, or they could make the Traveler thought of something that caused players to guess and form theories about Nerissa. This way, if Nerissa turned out to be alive, it would less shocking. And if Nerissa confirmed dead, the effect would be either 'I thought so!' or could be 'oh no… poor MC'.

And, btw, there's still one thing that contradicted with Nerissa appearance. It was in Ep. 2, where Oppo stated, "But one body they cannot find. The youngessstt Prince." (Sorry if Oppo here said Prince, because i only remember the line from my Gameplay). This, clearly act as a confirmation that, the only one who's still alive, is, us. The MC, the Traveler, or whatever you want to named them. Unless, unless Oppo didn't say this line, then the doubt whether Nerissa is alive too or not was mystery.

Anyway, aside from Nerissa appearance in Ep. 6, i think the game itself has potential to provide Two endings, just like you said. At least. Though, in my head, i'm kinda having a few scenarios where the ending can be divided into 5. It's just my opinion and my thought, i remind you. Don't fuss over, Anon.

The 1st ending can be a happy ending; where the MC somehow can defeat Zovack alongside Nerissa. It included with having their own happily-ever-after with their chosen Li (that, if the player choose to play in romance path). Options to let Nerissa take the throne or let the Traveler take it instead should be provided, because this is a happy ending.

2nd ending is a bad ending; Failed to fight against Zovack? Yes. The Traveler and the Crew held as hostages for the rest of their lives? Yes. Zovack ruled 'till the end? Yes.

3rd ending is bittersweet; I don't know, but, since Nerissa has appeared, maybe in the final chapter they can make Nerissa getting wounded, or die, in the battle?. And even though the Traveler success taking back the throne, something is missing. This ending automatically sets the Traveler as the ruler.

And for the 4th, it's actually kinda just like the 3rd, but the other way around; The MC wounded, or die, in the battle. This automatically sets Nerissa as the ruler.

And last, the 5th, i think it can be called as 'Dark Ending', where the scenario is the whole crew killed by Zovack. Including our sister. It just the Traveler left alone.

Yeah, that's it, i guess. I kinda hope the team provide us different paths for ending.

Aside from all of that and what's going on in the fandom because of Ep.6, i will continue to support Andromeda Six project until it's done. Besides, i personally enjoyed and liked A6 since the start, so i'll stay with it 'till the end. Also, the characters are too good to be left; it's just a matter of perspective whether what they did is wrong or not. I actually quite like something with this concept, you know. And, who knows, maybe the Developer will make a patch path for Alisa and Zane in the future. And maybe Wren as well.

Yoongi x Reader

When you woke up the next morning, you could barely breathe from the lump that was Min Yoongi resting on top of you. 

Looking down, you smiled when you saw his head on your chest with his cheek smushed against your breast, his nose resting at the base of your neck. His legs were intertwined with yours and you couldn’t help but to notice how nicely your scent mixed with his as they both hung in the air. 

You still couldn’t believe how quickly things had moved between you and Yoongi, when you had the time to sit down and really think about it. You had never expected to even want to be in the same room with him but now, you had definitely fallen for him and at the rate that things were going, you knew it wouldn’t be long until you fell in love with him. 

“You’re thinking too loud,” Yoongi suddenly grumbled, and you smiled as you reached down and set your hands in his hair. 

“I’m sorry,” you whispered. 

“What time is it?” He asked and you glanced over at his bedside table, taking note of the time on the clock that sat there.

“8am.”

“I don’t function before 10 so let’s go back to sleep,” he muttered.

“I’m gonna have to raincheck,” you giggled. “I need to go to the Head Hall and talk to my brother about some things.”

“Everything ok?” 

“More than,” you assured him. “It’s just some small stuff, nothing serious.”

“And you have to go now?” He whined. “And leave me here, all alone, with only the remnants of your nest and your scent to remind me that you were even here?”

“You are so dramatic, what the fuck Yoongi?” You laughed. “I have an appointment with a pregnant Omega at 10 so I need to go talk to Joon before he gets too busy.”

“Ugh, fine,” he relented, lifting his head and opening his eyes to look at you for the first time this morning. “Wanna meet for lunch?”

“I’m booked up all day,” you grimaced. “What about dinner? You could come to my place and I’ll cook for you, for a change.”

“Sounds good,” he nodded, leaning up and kissing you gently. “I’ll see you later then baby.” After pressing a few more gentle kisses to his lips, you managed to pull yourself away from him and hop into his shower. Once you were out, you may or may not have snagged one of his flannel shirts from his dresser drawer before pressing another kiss to his forehead and sneaking out of his house. 

Your walk to the Head Hall was quick, given that you’d been making the same walk literally since you were born; first to visit your father and now, to visit your brother. Once you stepped inside, you climbed the massive staircase that led you to the second floor and you walked over to stand in front of Namjoon’s secretary’s desk.

“Hi Y/N!” Mina greeted you cheerfully and you couldn’t help but to smile back.

“Hi Mina. Where’s Tae?” You wondered, since Taehyung was Namjoon’s usual secretary.

“He called in with the “flu”,” she giggled. “Though if you ask me, I think he just didn’t want to pull himself away from that Alpha of his.”

“Most likely,” you laughed in agreement. “Is Namjoon here though?”

“Just got here about 20 minutes ago,” she nodded. “Go on in.”

“Thanks,” you said before stepping around the desk and knocking on the door to Namjoon’s office.

“Come in!” You heard him say and you pushed open the door, sticking your head inside a little so that he could see you.

“Busy?” You wondered and he shook his head as he motioned for you to come inside. You did so, making sure to shut the door behind you before you walked over to sit in one of the chairs that sat in front of his desk. You always got a bittersweet feeling whenever you went to visit Namjoon, since his office used to actually be your father’s before he was killed. 

“You know, as your older brother, I’m not even gonna ask why you reek of Min Yoongi because I don’t want to know,” he spoke up before you even had the chance to say anything, which made you smirk as you looked at him.

“Oh please, as many times as Tae and I accidently caught you and Hyo making out when we were teenagers,” you snickered, making Namjoon’s cheeks redden. “You can deal with some scenting.”

“You smell like you did a whole lot more than scenting or making out though,” he laughed and it was your turn for your cheeks to redden. “But what’s up?”

“Well, I wanted to check in with you and see what you thought about Yoongi,” you told him.

“Why would you ask me that?” He wondered with a chuckle as he sat back in his chair. “We both know that you’re gonna do whatever you want regardless of what I may have to say. You always have.”

“Yeah but you’re Pack Alpha and you’re also my only big brother,” you said. “Ideally, I’d like to have your approval.”

“But you don’t need it, given your status within the pack,” he pointed out and you rolled your eyes at him bringing that up.

“Well, give me your opinion according to my new status,” you replied.

“I like him well enough,” Namjoon sighed as he crossed his arms over his chest. “He seems strong and dependable, and he’s a damned good hunter so I know that he’d be able to provide for you and protect you. However, he’s a little on the quiet side.”

“What’s wrong with being quiet?”

“Nothing, if it doesn’t seem like someone is using that to hide something,” Namjoon shrugged. “He seems almost too quiet. Plus, I really wish we knew more about how he ended up almost dead and why whoever did that to him would just leave him there.”

“You think it was his fault?” You questioned with an arched brow.

“No, but you know as well as I do that if a person is thrown out of their pack, most of the reasons behind it aren’t positive ones,” he responded. 

“Still, it probably wasn’t his fault,” you replied.

“Probably, but the possibility is always going to be there until he tells us otherwise,” Namjoon shot back. “You wanted my opinion, that’s a part of it.”

“Hyo said that you said that you thought we’d make a good match though,” you brought up, making Namjoon groan loudly.

“God, I love that woman but she talks too much,” he huffed, making you chuckle. “When I said that, I meant it on the basis of our biology. I almost expected the two of you to be attracted to each other, and I wasn’t at all surprised when you showed up with that necklace on.”

“So you do approve then?” You pressed him.

“Yes Y/N-ah, I approve,” he relented as he rolled his eyes. 

“That’s all I wanted to hear,” you smiled. “Thank you.”

“No problem,” he shrugged and it was then that you noticed something in his sandalwood and pine scent was off.

“What’s wrong?” You asked him, and he sighed heavily before telling you.

“Hobi caught some lurkers on the edge of our territory last night,” he revealed, making your eyes widen. 

“Seriously?” You gasped. “You think it’s anything to be concerned about?”

“I think it’s Seo-hyun’s pack,” he confessed and you immediately felt anger cloud your senses once you heard that name. 

“Are you fucking serious?” You spat and Namjoon nodded.

“Seo-hyun has been the one that’s been pressuring the packs around here to fight over territory,” he reminded you.

“Just like he did before the Great Pack War,” you added.

“Exactly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he sent those lurkers just to test me and see what I would do,” he said.

“Well, what are you going to do?” You wondered.

“I’m still working on that,” he replied honestly. “But whatever I come up with, I’m gonna try not to take it to the extremes of war again. That’s the last thing that this pack or any of the other packs need.”

“Agreed,” you nodded. “Well, I’ll let you get back to work.” You stood up from the chair and after he nodded at you, you turned around and walked towards the door. Just as your hand wrapped around the door knob, Namjoon called out to you.

“Y/N-ah?” He said and you turned around again to look at him. “Your heat’s coming up soon, right?”

“You know, you’ve been Pack Alpha for seven years now but I’ll still never get used to you knowing my heat cycle,” you blushed lightly.

“Trust me, it’s not my favorite piece of knowledge to have but you would’ve had to do it too if you kept your former status,” he pointed out. 

“To answer your question though, yes it’s coming up in like a week or so,” you told him. 

“You should tell Yoongi before then,” he advised you. “You know what I’m talking about?”

“Yeah, I know,” you smiled softly. “I’m gonna tell him. I just...have to figure out how to.”

“I get it,” Namjoon nodded. “Have a good rest of your day Y/N-ah.”

“You too Joon,” you replied before turning around and stepping out of his office, shutting the door behind you.

“Ok, so no offense or anything,” Yoongi began but you interrupted him.

“That’s usually what someone says right before they offend you,” you pointed out, making Yoongi laugh loudly.

“This probably will offend you but I have to say it, it looks like an actual blueberry in here,” Yoongi chuckled as he looked around your cabin. The two of you had been sat on your couch, eating the chili that you had cooked for dinner. This was his first time actually coming inside your house, and you were quickly regretting it.

“Blue is my favorite color,” you muttered petulantly. The walls in your living room were colored in powder blue, with the couch and two easy chairs matching it. Yoongi also couldn’t help but to notice how many vases you had with fresh carnations around as well.

“You like carnations?” Yoongi wondered.

“Love them,” you confirmed with a soft smile. “When I was little, my dad used to always get my mom a fresh bouquet of them every week. I got so used to having them in the house, I decided to keep it going once I got my own cabin.”

“They’re beautiful,” Yoongi said as he extended his arms towards you. You immediately moved closer to him, allowing him to wrap you up into a tight hug. 

“Missed you today,” you murmured as you nuzzled your nose against his scent gland on his neck. 

“I missed you too baby,” he whispered. 

“How was your day?” You questioned. 

“Busy,” Yoongi huffed. “Kibum didn’t feel well today so I ran the hardware shop by myself.”

“Really?” You gasped in surprise. “That’s great.”

“It was nerve wrecking,” he corrected you. “I wouldn’t have even done it if Kibum didn’t basically threaten my life.”

“Yeah, that’s how he gets what he wants,” you giggled. “How did it end up going though, besides being busy?”

“It was...good, actually,” he told you. “Since everyone mostly knows me now, it was smooth sailing.”

“Aw, look who’s a part of the pack now,” you cooed, and Yoongi laughed.

“I didn’t really expect to ever be,” he admitted. “Especially with me being an outsider.”

“Why?”

“Because in my old pack, being kind to each other wasn’t the norm,” Yoongi huffed. “And we definitely didn’t extend kindness to outsiders.”

“But you like it?” You guessed and he nodded.

“I do. I never thought I’d end up here, but I’m glad that I did,” he confessed, taking a second to lean down and press a kiss to the side of your head. 

“I’m glad that you did too,” you smiled. After saying that though, you couldn’t help but to hope that he would react well to your secret whenever you decided to tell him because you really were glad that he was there and you didn’t want to lose him.

ok so i have never written anything here but the sweet home netflix adaptation left me w sm pent up anger i need to rant

⚠️obviously spoilers from both the webtoon and series⚠️

i was actually pretty excited abt it bc it seemed promising and on the first ep i was so happy to see the characters again obv had some complaints abt jisu’s hair but i thought i was to make her look modern?? even though her original hairstyle is still popular and it had a meAning but n e ways also abt the lil kids names:// mr ahn not being a baldy jsjskskd but minor stuff the bastard easter egg was nice tho

idk a lot abt cgi but i liked it and getting more into the plot or aspects from the webtoon they literally got rid of maria from the sky like wtf i was like ok maybe it was hard to make a chibi look like jisu irl bUT AT LEAST TRY A CHARACTER OMG AND WITH THAT they got rid of how hyun and hyuk met online and just their entire friendship/dynamic, aLSO lets talk abt mr wook pyeon THEY DID HIM SO DIRTY OMG he was like a father to those kids he cared for them and protected them maybe not from the very start but he developed and netflix just took that and threw it out the window jfc.

At first i excused the fact that they skipped how the figured out the burning monsters and earphones thingy bc only ten eps and all that bUT THEY ADDED SUCH UNNECESSARY STUFF LIKE AN ENTIRE CHARACTER AND HER ARC i mean like no hate to yikyung but they didnt make her likeable??? and then the entire trip experience adventure that was getting dusik to the first floor was also skipped like wtf???? and jisu even had a surgery when she didn’t even trip in the webtoon and performed by hyuk nonetheless like my boi is smart but yea.

onto the gangsters arc they only kept the rapist one bc even the half monster one wAS A GOOD PERSON IN THE WEBTOON from that moment on everything went even more downhill bc w this newbie killing the boss as a human hyun couldn’t “die” protecting his friends from it as a monster.
