I really have to admire some people's positive outlooks, though maybe it's because I kind of want Octavia to resent Blitz at least a little bit even once things smooth over that I just can't conceive aus where the stolitz families come together in harmony and stuff. Like I don't have any super strong opinions on how a Stolas-Loona bond might develop (best case scenario it'd be Extremely awkward and stilted between them methinks), and Octavia-Loona works well enough already, but love and light Octavia would Not be about that with Blitz, at least not at the moment/until she starts finding out about Stuff, and even then I don't think that it'd be easy for her at all

Omg I'm loving your response to my prompts!! thank you
I have a few ideas (You don't have to do them all) just throwing them out there to see what sparks ideas!!
I love secret admirer stories (I know its no where close to valentines day but still) maybe Reader is Rebecca's assistant and keeps getting gifts leading up to valentines day but she is pretty sure its like Sam or Isaac and tells friend Jaime (even though its really him) then the day of the grand finale and she comes to the lovely surprise of it being Jaime!
also if you could include Scarlett red roses in it for me (They are my favorite flower and the only flower I'm not allergic to)
So. I liked this one. Maybe too much? It might be the longest one I’ve written so far, so, uh, sorry about that. But I liked it a lot. It might be one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. Hope you enjoy. also the gif isn’t Jamie Tartt but it is Phil Dunster so hopefully that’s ok
honey, i’ll give you all my time
Good god, it’s February all ready. You have a love-hate relationship with the month; love, because Galentine’s Day and hate because Valentine’s Day. You and your friends would go out on February 15th to get discount chocolate from the shops, then return home for an ungodly amount of takeout and a movie. On the whole, you all preferred action movies with a good romance.
You’re dreading Valentine’s Day because it’s when your boyfriend of two years held your hands in his, and told you he wanted to break up.
That was a year ago. You’re mostly angry that he’s a dark stain on one of your favorite holidays. You’re absolutely determined not to let him ruin your enjoyment.
This is also the first year you’re not with your friends. You moved away last March because you realized your ex had been holding you back in far too many ways.
So. To recap.
You’re alone. You love Valentine’s Day, despite it forever being the day of your breakup. Your friends aren’t here. You have new friends. There is no one to go to the shops with on the 15th. But discount chocolate is still discount chocolate.
Your current job is as a personal assistant, something you excel at. You basically anticipate needs, meet them, and just generally make your employer’s life a whole lot easier. The application said the job required a lot of travel, but all expenses (minus some food) were covered.
You were shocked when you got an interview, then a second, then a third, then were hired.
Your boss is a woman named Rebecca Welton, and you’re half in love with her, but who isn’t, really?
You swear you’ve never been in such a healthy work environment. You mention it one day, early on, and she says it’s all thanks to their head coach, someone named Ted.
You meet him for the first time later that day, and you understand.
It’s impossible not to love him, because he has vision. He knows what he wants from his team, and he knows how to get it.
He believes the team extends far beyond the players.
He believes it extends to you, too.
Ted and Coach Beard steal you from Rebecca as often as they can, claiming emergencies such as “a toxic amount of testosterone from all these boys,” “life-threatening boredom,” and last but not least, “there’s a new pun Ted absolutely needs to test right now and he won’t take no for an answer.”
(You like to give Ted honest feedback on his puns.)
You also find yourself in their office when Rebecca is out for lunch, eating your respective sandwiches and swapping life stories.
They remind you a lot of your parents.
It’s mid-June when you mention the Valentine’s Day story.
It doesn’t hurt as much when it’s punctuated by Ted’s “he didn’ts” and Beard’s perfectly-timed gasps.
You find yourself laughing halfway through, unable to stop.
“And anyway,” you finish, cheeks painful from smiling so hard, “that’s why romantic love is a joke and I am drowning myself in platonic love forever.”
Ted and Beard share a look. “I wouldn’t be too sure about that,” Beard says.
You shoot him a quizzical look. “What do you mean?”
“Well sweetheart,” Ted says, “between the two of us collectively,” here points between him and Beard, “we know of at least three of the boys on the team who are madly in love with you.”
“What?” you gasp, “How did you- where did you- who??”
Ted zips his lips and Beard tips a finger to him. “We know of five if we count Rebecca’s intel.”
You’re sitting cross-legged on the edge of Beard’s desk, in shock. “Rebecca knows about this??”
Ted and Beard shrug in unison. “We all have our opinions on which one should shoot their shot, but that’s neither here nor there,” Ted says.
“Coincidentally, it’s the one thing we unanimously agree on,” Beard nods.
You’re cut off from saying anything by the door opening. One of the players stands in the doorway.
“Excuse me, coach,” he says, accent thick.
Ted motions in a you have the floor type of way, and the footballer turns to address you of all people. “We’re all goin’ out tonight, and Keeley sent me to invite the new girl. None of the lads have really met you yet, just seen you ‘round. Thought it might be good for team bonding, or something. I’m Jamie, by the way.”
“Oh,” you say, taken aback. “I guess- yeah, I guess I haven’t really met them. I mean, I see you guys around and stuff and I’m at your games, but I don’t really know you. Are you sure you want me to come?”
Jamie shrugs. “Coach is always on us about bein’ a team or some shit. And, havin’ a girl around makes the lads look good.”
You think that makes sense, and then find yourself agreeing to go out that night with a group of footballers you don’t know, and (thank god) Keeley Jones.
You’re going to figure out which five before the summer’s over.
—
You have nice time out with the lads. They go to a bar and cram into separate booths. You’re wedged in between two who have introduced themselves as Isaac and Dani, and across from Sam, Bumbercatch, and Jan Maas. Roy, Richard, and a few others you don’t know are milling about, and you see Jamie and Keeley at a table, surrounding by giggling girls. The sight is so absurd that you catch yourself smiling and turning back to whatever conspiracy Bumbercatch is telling you about now.
—
You put Sam at the top of your list as soon as you get home. The man wears his heart on his sleeve, or maybe in his eyes, but you’re positive that he’s one of the five Ted and Beard referred to. One down, four to go.
—
It’s the end of July, and you begin to become friends with the team. You know for an absolute fact who is not interested in you, Jamie being one of them. Coincidentally, he’s the one you become closest to. You think it’s because you’re not worrying about sending mixed signals or leading him on. You dropped public hints about not really looking for anything romantic, just to be sure you wouldn’t hurt anyone.
As it is, Jan Maas and Dani have made the list. Jan Maas, because he stifled his Dutch bluntness for you and Dani, because he openly declared he was madly in love with you in front of the whole team.
—
Isaac makes the list in December. It had been in between him and Bumbercatch, but Isaac was the one who walked you to your car every night and the first one to say hello to you every morning.
You’re not gonna lie, it was cute.
You shared some of this with Ted and Beard, who remained impressively stone-faced. Rebecca proved to be equally impervious.
You shared all of it with your lunch-buddy-turned-work-bestie, Jamie.
You ate with him because Rebecca was constantly in lunch meetings these days, and Ted, Beard, and Roy were always revamping their football strategies.
Jamie would plop down at your table and say, “What’s the news, Amy Hughes?” in his perfect Mancunian accent, and then listen/add commentary to whatever you had to say.
You explained to him that the reason you wanted to know who liked you was so that you could be extra careful with their hearts. You knew what it was like to be led on, and you did NOT want to do that to someone else.
Jamie nodded thoughtfully at that and then said, “We’re all footballers though, ain’t we? We get the shit end of the stick all the time, hearts broke by models and whatever. Even ends up in the fucking press. Everyone here’s has their heart broken before, and we all know you aren’t doing it on purpose.”
You wrinkle your nose at him. “I’m pretty sure it’s short end of the stick, Jamie.”
And thus begins your lunch hour of bickering.
—
No one has made a move on you yet, and you don’t have a read on number five. You still think it may be Bumbercatch, but in reality, it slips from your mind. Sam’s moved on, Jan Maas has accepted defeat, Dani swears he will love you until the day he dies, and Isaac stays, well, Isaac. Still sweet. Still walking you to your car, coming round extra early in the morning with a coffee or a water, depending on which “looked less like shit.”
Really though, you don’t think about it until February first, when you walk into your office to a small box on your desk.
At first, you think it’s a box of Ted’s biscuits.
Then, you notice a small, scarlet-red rose taped to the top. There’s no note, and all that’s inside is a tiny paper heart.
It’s folded with extreme care, and you place it on your shelf, smelling the rose. It smells amazing and you make a mental note to figure out where the heck it came from. But for now, it’s time to work.
—
You don’t mention the gifts until February third, because now there’s been one a day. Each one with a scarlet red rose, and a different gift. Yesterday was an incredibly expensive bar of chocolate (it was life-changing) and today is a tiny gold bracelet.
It’s a simple enough chain, but it is absolutely breathtaking. There is no mistaking the fact that it is not cheap, so you take it and march straight to Rebecca’s office.
“Rebecca,” you say, hands outstretched, “look.”
She does, smiles, then says, “It appears you have a secret admirer.”
“But I don’t want that!” you cry. “I don’t even have time for that! I don’t even like anybody right now!”
She peers at you over her glasses. “Don’t you?”
The sheer weight of those words is enough to physically knock you back two steps.
You don’t, you swear you don’t, you’re absolutely sure.
What about Vienna? a voice in the very back of your head nags.
You reply, out loud, “We don’t talk about Vienna,” and Rebecca just shrugs.
“Have it your way,” she replies in a tone that means this conversation is over, but you’re the one ending it.
You turn on your heel and find yourself taking the route to Ted and Beard.
You burst into their office in such a flurry that the entire room turns to look at you. “Close the door,” you say with such urgency, that Trent hurries to comply. Beard even shuts the blinds.
“What’s on your mind, Ollie Cline?” Ted asks.
“Wait,” you say, holding up a hand. You point to Roy. “Do you want to be here? It involves feelings.”
“Fuck no,” says Roy, “thanks for being fucking considerate.” He follows it up with a pointed glare at Ted, then goes into his office and firmly shuts the door.
“Can he be here?” Ted asks, tilting his head toward Trent.
“I don’t care, he’s probably a good one to have around for this because look!” You present the three collected roses and the bracelet.
“Someone’s started leaving me gifts, and I’m pretty sure it’s a Valentine’s thing because of the roses, and it was fine for the first two days but this is expensive, and I can’t accept this!”
Ted and Beard share a look. You hate it when they do that and leave you out.
Ted sighs. “Listen, do you think this about Vienna?”
You fix him with a glare. “No. We are not talking about Vienna ever again.”
Trent pipes up, “What’s Vienna?” and you wheel around on him, taking your glare with you.
“Vienna," you spit, like it’s poisonous, “is a terrible, awful place where people think terrible, awful things. I never want to talk about it again and I never will.”
Trent nods. “Noted.”
You turn back to Ted and Beard, pleadingly. “What do I do? Tell me what to do.”
Beard gets up and puts his hand on your shoulder. “Kid, if you want my advice, take the damn roses and wear the damn bracelet. These boys make more money than they know how to spend, so just let it go. They all know how you feel about dating, so if someone’s shooting their shot, they know the stakes.”
You shake your head. “Fine. Fine. I’ll let it go.”
—
You decide to tell Jamie on day five, because it’s a Friday and you’re dying to get his take. You tell him everything, show him the roses in your office (hanging upside down to dry), and then hand him the notebook that was in today’s box.
“Jamie,” you say, “this is an expensive notebook. There was a typed note inside that said, ‘for your drawings.’ How did this person even know I like drawing? I never talk about it!”
Jamie looks at you and laughs a little. You’re very flustered for something most people would enjoy. “Dunno, love, but we’ve all seen the sticky notes you leave Coach. That might be it.”
You groan and flop down into your chair.
“At least tomorrow’s the weekend,” you say.
—
Jamie’s phone dings at 9:00am on Saturday with a text from you that says, what the actual heck and a picture of a brown bag at your doorstep. Inside is a plastic box of your favorite lemon muffin from a local bakery. He emphasized the image, then waits for your response.
It was still warm, you write. It was someone who knows where I live and knows what time I leave to get breakfast.
Jamie grins and sends you a shrugging emoji, and you respond with an eye roll and a you’re no fun.
Jamie reads that and privately disagrees. He thinks he’s lots of fun
—
You’re pretty sure it’s Isaac. After all, he’s the only likely candidate. He’s one of the few who knows where you live and knows your routine. Not in a creepy way, in a we’re-good-friends type of way. You bring this up to Jamie, after personally banning all talk of this with Ted, Beard, and Rebecca. Stupid Vienna. You should never have told them.
Jamie shrugs for the millionth, infuriating time. He’s been noncommittal this whole time. You’re over here pouring out your heart and soul, considering whether you like Isaac romantically or not, and all he can say is, “I dunno?”
This is not the Jamie Tartt you’ve become best friends with.
That Jamie would be down to hunt this secret admirer with you. That Jamie would be helping you figure out if Isaac had a chance with you. That Jamie would be way more engaged than the one sitting in front of you right now.
But, you suppose maybe that Jamie died in Vienna, so you stop bringing it up.
—
It’s day ten. Valentine’s Day is in four day, and you’re nervous.
You’ve decided you don’t like Isaac like that, mainly because it shouldn’t take you that long to decide if you like anyone. There has to be an initial spark, and you shouldn’t try to manufacture it.
Still, you’re not sure it is Isaac, so you’re not going to say anything about it. The scarlet red roses hang on your office wall, permeating the room with their scent.
You feel like you’re dying.
This is a cruel joke and you’re dying.
The building is basically empty right now. Rebecca and Higgins have some meeting, the team is on the pitch (including Will) and various other staff are somewhere far away from you. So, you jump a little when Trent Crimm comes tripping into your office.
“Vienna,” he says, no greeting. “If you didn’t want to talk about it, you wouldn’t have told anyone. I’m assuming you do want to talk about it, but you don’t want judgement from the people you love. I’m here to offer my services as a neutral party.”
You look at him. “Trent. You are a journalist. Your whole job is writing down people’s secrets. Why on earth would I talk to you about the worst day of my life?”
Trent shrugs. “I’m good at keeping secrets. This would be off the record. I’ve never lied to people about off the record, also. I consider it bad journalism.”
You consider this for a moment, then sigh.
“Alright,” you concede. “At least if this gets out, I know whose head I’m shaving in retaliation.”
Trent looks at you in surprise, seeing you in a whole new, slightly threatening light.
“It happened two months ago. It was around Christmas, and I didn’t have anywhere to go…”
—
Your family all had their own separate plans that Christmas. Plans that didn’t really involve you. Same with your friends. You said something casually to Rebecca, and the next day she told you she had booked you a trip to Vienna. Call it an early Christmas present, she said. It was at the Aumaris Vienna, and it was gorgeous and ridiculously out of your budget, but she said you worked hard and gave her peace-of-mind, and you can’t really put a price on that, can you?
So you went.
But here’s the thing.
Someone else didn’t have Christmas plans.
So when you brought up your trip at your daily lunch, said someone else casually asked, can I come?
You almost choked on your sandwich.
Because here’s the other thing.
You were, maybe, kind of, possibly just a little bit head over heels in love with this someone else.
You’re not sure when it happened, really, just that it was probably in August and that it was soul-crushing because you knew for an absolute fact that he did not, and never would, feel the same way.
You didn’t tell anyone except Keeley, but under the condition that she just let you say it and that she never, ever give you a response to it. Just listen.
She did, but you were pretty sure she almost combusted.
But who are you to say no when Jamie Tartt invited himself on your luxurious Christmas vacation saying, I’ll pay extra to get a plane ticket next to you?
You were doomed from the start.
To make matters totally and impossibly worse, he couldn’t find another room.
He had his tickets, but the hotels, he said, were packed.
It was Christmas, after all.
So that’s how you ended up in a luxury hotel with Jamie Tartt for a week and a half, one day of which was Christmas.
You know the, “there was only one bed” trope that everyone thinks is so cute?
It was that, but only if you add deep, shattering heartbreak to it.
Because every night, you had to listen to Jamie say, “goodnight, love,” and then get into that giant, soft bed as far away from him as you could manage.
Every morning you woke up to the pillow barricade long gone, one of his arms thrown around you. Or one of your legs on top of his. Or a million different scenarios where you end up literally asleep together, some weird gravity pulling you to each other.
You were falling so hard and so fast, that you felt like the air was knocked from your lungs when Jamie started talking about the girl he liked.
“She’s just so fucking beautiful,” he’d say, staring at an Alpine mountain. Or, “Swear she’s the smartest fucking person I’ve ever met,” while traipsing through the city. Or, “Pretty sure she’s ruined me for everyone else,” while getting facials at the hotel spa.
To be fair, you were the one who teased him into admitting he liked someone.
You just didn’t expect it to hurt so much.
The entire trip felt like heaven and hell had simultaneously converged on you, and you never wanted to leave but also desperately counted the days till it was over.
You came back and broke down in Rebecca’s office. Ted and Beard were there. The whole thing came spilling out, about how you loved the trip so much it felt like your heart would explode but that Jamie loved someone else.
They all exchanged looks amongst themselves and did their best to comfort you.
You pulled yourself together and they promised never to say anything to anyone.
—
“So that’s Vienna,” you finish.
Trent is just staring at you, mouth slightly agape.
He finally says, “My god, that’s fucked,” with such emotion that you decide right then and there that you like Trent Crimm and his rainbow mug.
Now, you just shrug. “I did it to myself, honestly. That’s why I’m tripping out about this secret admirer thing. And god, Trent, the roses. They’re so beautiful and it’s so romantic, and whoever it is obviously knows me well so there’s a part of me that wants to like this person, but…” you trail off.
“But there’s a part of you that’s hoping against hope that Jamie’s behind it all,” Trent finishes.
You let out a little laugh. “Yeah, that about sums it up.”
Trent looks at the roses, then at you. “Maybe you should talk to Jamie,” he says, gently.
You reply with a forceful, “No,” and then follow up with a small, “That’s what Ted and Rebecca say, too.”
Trent stands up, shrugs, says with a small smile, “Just a thought,” then he’s out the way he came.
—
It is Valentine’s Day. And it’s a Sunday, which means you are legally required to stay in bed until 10, at which point you will get out only to make yourself decent enough to go buy a good cup of coffee and maybe (definitely) something to eat.
You’ve just finished putting on your shoes, when there’s a knock at the door.
You take a breath, and get ready to let down your secret admirer as gently as possible.
You swing open the door to reveal-
“Jamie! What are you doing here?”
Jamie Tartt is on your doorstep, hands behind his back, looking shyer than the day you first met.
He opens his mouth and says the last thing you’d ever expect:
“D’you remember Vienna?”
Your heart, which had already been going fast because his dumb floppy hair was all dumb and floppy in his stupid, cute headband, is now working double time. You manage a nod.
Jamie takes this as permission to continue. “D’you remember how I couldn’t get another room, no matter how hard I tried? That wasn’t true. I could’ve.” He pauses, and you wait for him to continue.
“And d’you remember when we met, when I told you Keeley told me to invite you out? That was a lie too.”
You tilt your head, confused. He keeps going.
“Look- I fucked it. I fucked it a million times and I told Ted and I told Beard, but they kept helping me un-fuck it and giving me chances, and then Rebecca bought two tickets to Vienna and slipped me the other one, and they all told me I had a perfect shot.”
You’re still not understanding what he’s saying. He might as well be speaking another language. Jamie sees the confusion in your eyes, takes a breath, and tries again.
“Keeley told me to invite you out, but only because I’d seen you around and thought you were fit. Then Isaac and all the lads thought the same thing, so I didn’t even get to fuckin’ sit with you. And then you started sayin’ things about not bein’ ready for a relationship, so I tried to let it go. I really fucking tried. But I just couldn’t. Your eyes are too sparkly and your laugh is too fucking cute and I couldn’t let it go, so I started eating lunch with you and you fucking let me. I knew the moment I said anything about liking you, it was over.”
Comprehension has started to dawn, but you push down hope until Jamie’s done speaking.
“Everyone told me to shoot my shot in Vienna. We shared a bed, for fuck’s sake.” Here, Jamie looks bewildered. “But I dunno, I didn’t want to make shit weird. So when you asked if I liked anyone I said yeah, and started fuckin describing you, but you never fucking picked up on it. That’s when I got the idea to try one more time. All by meself, no help from anyone else. So…yeah.”
Jamie Tartt is standing on your porch confessing his love for you on Valentine’s Day and it is not a dream, because if it were your teeth would be falling out and his hair would probably be neon pink.
“I’m an idiot,” you breathe. “You like me? Like, like-like me?”
Jamie quirks a smile at that. “Not quite, darling. Pretty fucking sure I love you.” He pulls his hand from behind his back to reveal a bunch of scarlet red roses. The same from each gift.
“Got these for you,” he says. “D’you know how hard it is to get red roses in February?”
You don’t answer him because you’re leaping into his arms, kissing him like you’ve thought about doing every day for what feels like forever. He’s kissing you back, hand with the flowers pressed against your back, other hand in your hair.
“I love you too, Jamie,” you whisper against his mouth. He smiles and pulls you in again.

🖤 For Maggie (@tidemoonchild) but for the love of god please keep out the part with "how likely they would have sex with them". Answer only the platonic stuff. But I think I don't have to tell you that. We're not making Hank into... "this"...
attractiveness:
repulsive / hideous / ugly / not attractive / unappealing / not unattractive / meh / no preference / ok / mildly attractive / nice looking / cute / adorable / attractive / pleasant on the eyes / good looking / hot / sexy / beautiful / gorgeous / hot damn / would tap that / perfect / godlike / holy fuck there are no words.
If there is even a hint or a breath or an intimation that the answer to this section is anything less than platonic, you will be ended. That is his daughter and she is a lovely young woman, and forever sexless in his eyes. No. No, there's no moving on this point. Forever sexless.
personality:
grating / irritating / frustrating / boring / confusing at best / awkward / unreasonable / psychotic / disturbing / interesting / engaging / affectionate / aggressive / ambitious / anxious / artistic / bad tempered / bossy / charismatic / appealing / unappealing / creative / courageous / dependable / unreliable / unpredictable / predictable / devious / dim / extroverted / introverted / egotistical / gregarious / fabulous / impulsive / intelligent / sympathetic / talkative / up beat / peaceful / calming / badass / flexible.
Maggie worries Hank, honestly. Not just because of the circumstances of how they met, not just because of the deeply strange way they've come to know each other, not even just because time travel shenanigans have led to him only being maybe ten years older than his daughter in our thread - no, he's worried because he hasn't even gotten to be a dad yet, and he already feels like he's fluffed it. She's a great kid, obviously, but how much of that is just her? He doesn't feel like he's responsible for what's good about her - just for losing her. It's gonna take some work disabusing him of that notion.
level of friendship:
never in a million years / worst of enemies / enemies / rivals / indifferent / neutral / acquaintance / friendly toward each other / casual friends / friends / good friends / best friends / fuck buddies / bosom buddies / practically the same person / would die for them / true friends / my only friend.
It's taken a while to get to this point, for good reason, but by god, Hank is working at it. Even if he can't be the father Maggie needed, he can at least try and be her friend.
first impression of them:
i hate them so much / i don’t like them / i don’t trust them / they annoy me / they’re weird / I’m indifferent / meh / they seem alright / they’re growing on me / truce / I think I like them / I like them / I’m not sure if I trust them / I trust them / they’re cool / they’re genuine / I think we’re going to get along / I really like them / I think I’m in love / oh fuck they’re hot / I love them.
This is going based off our first thread - he could definitely feel a connection, he wanted to be there for her and protect her, but he was getting what I can only describe as distinctly hinky vibes because of how off the situation was and how Maggie was acting. Even before he knew the full truth, he knew there was something else going on.
current impression of them:
i hate them so much / i don’t like them / i don’t trust them / they annoy me / they’re weird / I’m indifferent / meh / they seem alright / they’re growing on me / truce / I think I like them / I like them / I’m not sure if I trust them / I trust them / they’re cool / they’re genuine / I think we’re going to get along / I really like them / I think I’m in love / oh fuck they’re hot / I love them.
Only just found out her real name, in-thread, so this one's still got places to go, but he's trusting her more and more - and you can bet things are going to start rapidly changing as he starts to process what her last name is and what it means.

Dndads season 2 expectations :3
Frankly I do not really know how tumblr works; just posting this to keep track of it! I just finished season 1 of dungeons and daddies a bit ago and am starting the next one soon! Here are my current thoughts/expectations:
ummummmm honestly I have no clue what's going to happen in S2- I know the premise is the doodler has returned, but besides them trying to defeat it probably, no idea. I'm excited to hopefullyy see some of my favorite s1 characters again (I am pretty much exclusively talking about Erin and Scam)! If willy shows up again im going to leave. forever. he doesn't get to be an antag for two seasons.
AND ALSO IM GONNA BE. VERY UPSET IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO THE STAMPLERS. I know scary isn't a stampler technically but I'll still refer to them all as that. but I care them so hard im gonna be so mad. all in all I just want the stamplers to be ok. and scam and erin. Also speaking of erin I hope vince dies she deserves someone with more dimensions (me)
The kids as dads!:
Honestly, I love all the kids- I cannot see them being that bad of parents (but apparently I'll find out soon!)
Adulthood clearly fucks them up SOMEHOW bc idk how they could be so awful but Sparrow (My favorite kid as of now :3) would probably just be. kinda like henry but I still think different? Like Henry is probably more protective than I imagine sparrow would be; aloof (p.s. I had a different idea of what aloof meant but I can't think of a different word so. oh well just use your imagination LMFAO) though he still is very loving! And does his best to sprinkle in life lessons even if they're not. that great. Like I'd think the worst he could fuck up his kid is not really teach him any particularly valuable life skills
Terry Jr! I love him, I'm very glad he and Ron are doing well as of now. I think he's a great kid that would make a great step-dad, especially considering the fact he knows what it's like to 1: lose his dad and 2: have an emotionally distant step-father. You'd THINK he wouldn't want a kid to also go through that but who knows I guess.
I love Grant too, and I know I've said this for all of them but honestly I have no clue what tf they do to him to possibly get him to be that bad of a dad. He was definitely traumatized by murdering that thing so I get him maybe like being emotionally distant. and like overbearing at the same time. but I wouldn't really call that being a poor parent,,,
Nicky uhhh. He confuses me I don't really know what he's like anymore since he was Glenn's kid. then Jodie's. now kinda both so honestly I've no real idea of what he's gonna be like but I still can't see him being that bad.
AND THAT REMINDS ME if hermie is presumably a grandkid of one of the preexisting s1 characters I can not figure out WHO tf might be the one that fucked him up that bad. I don't really know anything about him but it's soo obvious that he is Not gonna have a Good Time. I don't even know if he's a normal guy (normal hehe) or from the forgotten realms or>?????
Characters I'll probably get attached to
Honestly, as far as I can tell abt hermie (which I'm not really supposed to know about yet but whatever) he does seem like a character I will get attached to. And hopefully not empathize with cause that won't help. He just looks like he's designed to hold SO much trauma.
*slaps roof of hermie*
This baby can hold so much trauma in it.
I don't really have any clue abt him but. I can tell it probably won't go well for him! Also he kinda? ?? looks like an antag but also doesn't? Idk maybe an antag because of a forced hand, or more along the lines of an anti-hero? I've no idea.
Scary! She seems likeable in an. unlikeable edgy way. She's played by Beth so it can't be that hard to like her (Which I recently met someone who DOESN'T like beth!? He just hates to see a funny woman...), plus I'm a sucker for edgy emo characters. She's not actually related to ron but yknow terry's her step-dad and that's close enough.
Honestly I don't particularly take to very chipper and upbeat characters (which I'm just assuming Normal is, I could be wrong), so no clue if I'll like him. I at least probably won't dislike him as long as he's not annoying abt it.
And I have no clue what Taylor's gonna be like so really I can't say anything. He's kinda sorta related to Glenn? kinda????? and I didn't like Glenn very much at first, he did grow on me a little but idk- we'll see
I totally forgot to put lincoln in here. idk ANYTHING about him so uhh we'll see!
ermm I think I had something else to say but I forgot- I'm going to start dedicating the next 10 days while I'm by myself to probably binging all of s2. Uhhhh wish me luck!

George Chapter of the Day #10
I Saw Her Standing There
Trigger Warnings: adult situations, swearing, drinking, alcohol abuse, smoking, slow burn romance, tension/conflict, arguing.
**18+ only**
Chapter 10
In the early morning, Joie had aspirin and more hot coffee ready for John. He seemed to have recovered fairly well and she was going to leave his room when he called to her.
"Joie?" His voice was deep and gravelly.
"Yes?"
"Don't tell Cyn. It doesn't mean anything...." He pleaded barely over a whisper.
She nodded passively and walked out. George was the only one in the main part of the suite, dozing on the couch. He awoke when he heard John's door open.
"You ok?" he asked her, rubbing his eyes and pulling a robe around himself.
Joie took a deep breath. He was adorable. Severe bed head, his thick dark brown hair swirled in lovely full, soft curls, his sweet eyes at half-mast...how was she going to get him to kiss her again? Her lips parted as she bit her lower lip, coming back from fantasy land. "A little tired, but John is ok. Did you sleep out here all night?"
"Thought you might need some reinforcements..."
George wanted to tell her as they sat down next to each other and leaned backwards to rest their heads. Her lovely eyes closed as she sighed out of exhaustion.
How he wanted to lift her up to him by her waist and as her head came forward, melt his lips on the creamy ivory skin under her earlobe, whispering all the things he loved about her. Closing his eyes for a long second, he could smell her lovely perfume as the sun began to shine into the main part of the suite. George finally stood and stepped forward, heading for the phone. "Room service? I need a pot of tea and a pot of coffee. 2 cups. And maybe some muffins or whatever. Don't forget the sugar and jam."
Joie smiled at him. She needed coffee. She needed food. Joie knew she didn't have the current version of a sexy body by British standards which was ultra thin, almost waif-like. Her body was thin but strong from swimming and surfing in the ocean, playing volleyball on the beach, tennis and lately, jogging. And now, she could only imagine what she looked like. Sleep and food deprived and needing a very long, very hot shower, she knew she looked like something, as her dad used to say, like what the cat dragged in. But George didn't seem to mind. He was looking at her with those dark chocolate eyes, the only window into his thoughts was the slightly upturned corner of his lip.
They sat quietly side by side, not touching, afraid if they did touch, whatever would happen, would be the way it was going to be forever. George finally rose to answer the "room service " call at the door. He served up the coffee and muffin for her, somehow knowing how she liked it and sat next to her again.
He wanted Joie, no matter what he had to do, no matter what he had to give up. He had to tell her...he had to say it.
"It's always like this.....crazy I mean," George just couldn't get the words he really wanted to say out of his mouth and kept discussing the nightmare of touring. "This is the tip of the iceberg. Now you can see why I hate touring."
"Paul seems to love it." Joie took a long sip of her coffee, engaging George as her pursed lips blew breath on the hot liquid.
"Paul is crazy," George said it in a way only a brother could. "Look, why don't you go back to London. Work in the office, help me with the house. This travelling nurse thing will make you old real fast."
Joie looked at him. His face was so gentle and caring.
"But Ringo is still sick."
"He's got penicillin now and a doctor watching over him. We look out for one another Joie. No one is leaving anyone behind."
"I know that George," Joie admitted, sipping the hot coffee. It tasted so good going down her throat. "But I promised to see this through, and I will."
George smiled at her. "I guess it's your sort that lost us the Revolution."
Joie burst out laughing. "You just may be right..."
........
It turned out to be a revolving door of women, interviews, photo ops, drink, concerts, hotel rooms and no sleep. She at least did not have to attend the press receptions or hold the babies or meet the royalty. But by the time Joie Armagh returned to Freda's house, she had lost 10 pounds and was completely wired on coffee.
"My god, Joie......" is all Freda could say.
"I need to sleep for a week...." Was all she could say as she went into her room and fell across the bed. "And I promise, absolutely promise, to find my own place within the next month. Will must be tired of my staying here."
"He doesn't mind."
"Yes, but he wants you two to have some alone time and I'm definitely in the way."
Freda looked at her. "You are my friend, Joie. You can stay here as long as you want."
Joie smiled at her friend and closed her eyes to sleep. George came to her in that twilight sleep she still had some control over and it felt real as his hand slipped around her neck, underneath her hair. His eyes gleamed as he met her for a sweet kiss, his strong hand across her back, suddenly taking control of her body and pulling her against him. Joie tried to stay in that semi-dreaming state but couldn't, falling into deep slumber.
The phone woke her up. Phones were always waking her the fuck up. Joie actually didn't know what time it was or even where she was.
It was Freda.
"Don't tell me," Joie said after a huge yawn. "Brian wants to know where I am. I just got back for heaven's sakes. I've been awake for like a week. I was on call 24/7. Can't I get a day to sleep?"
Freda was whispering. "He's talking to John on the phone. Wants to know why you aren't in the office. Slagger," she giggled quietly.
Joie managed a laugh. "I don't care what John says. I'm sleeping. Let him fucking fire me. Do me the damn favor. I'll go back to the land across the pond and I won't miss this one bit."
..........
"So how are things with Joie?" John asked, respectfully this time as he, Ringo and George headed north from London on the way home.
"Fine."
"What the hell does that mean? You haven't made one fuckin' move, have you?" John exclaimed. "How is Joie supposed to know what's going on in that daft bird-brain of yours if you don't say...or do...something?"
George laughed. "Get out of my sex life, you voyeur. There's only room for two."
Ritchie burst into laughter. "That's a new one. It was always 'the more, the merrier' with you."
"I'm turning over a new leaf," George grinned. "There's only room for one."
"Joie...," John said with a nod.
George gave them both a Cheshire cat smirk. "Bugger off..."
""Oh, you're a fuckin' goner," Ritchey sighed.
"Look, she's a wonderful girl, Georgie," John spoke seriously. "Don't fuck it up. If you think she's disposable like all the others, leave her alone."
George gave him a solemn look. "I get it, Sir Galahad. Believe me, I get it."
..........
When Joie arrived at the office the next morning, Brian again chastised her and it seemed to Joie that talking down to her was his only way of speaking to her. She did what she was told, she did it cheerfully and all she got was shit from the manager. Joie simply didn't understand it. What was his god damn problem?
Brian called her into his office, but this time Joie remained standing. She wasn't going to be lorded over by him again. "Miss Armagh, when you are on the road with the Beatles, you need to be in contact with the office."
"Mr. Epstein, excuse me, but you were there with us. I saw you every day. Who do you want me to call? I spoke to Freda nearly every day."
He didn't appreciate her American "pluck". He didn't like being questioned. Joie could see that in his body language.
"I expect you to call here every day," he said finally. "I expect you to follow the procedures I set forth. I expect you to BE here every day. No exceptions. This is a business and you will understand that."
Joie knew arguing was fruitless. She nodded and said as cheerily as she could, "Ok. I understand. Thank you, Mr. Epstein."
She turned to exit his office.
"You are here, may I remind you, because the Beatles want you here."
"I know that," she replied turning to look at him. "And I appreciate the opportunity."
Joie walked out. She wasn't sure if it was all worth it. She again thought about going home. What was keeping her here afterall? The newness and adventure had worn off long ago. She was tired. Dead tired. And shit was flowing her way from all sides. Joie was inches away from telling Brian Epstein to go fuck himself. She'd really show him what American "pluck" was all about.
..........
The next tour was even more grueling. 12 concerts in 10 days. Joie was on call nearly every night. The stress was incredible. Everyone was tense and irritable, including unflappable Mal. John and Ringo were drinking....heavily. Women came in and out of Paul's room at all hours.
Joie was frustrated and exhausted. She laid down on her hotel room bed and looked up at the ceiling, wondering who was going to call her next. Even Brian called her about one thing or another. The only one who didn't was George. He kept his drinking in check, but chain smoked, making Joie tell him he needed to slow down.
George would just silently smile at her. And Joie wondered why she hadn't caught him with a woman. She had caught the rest of them cheating on their wives and girlfriends and wondered why George seemed to have remained celibate on tour. At least when she was around.
Although she was exhausted, Joie got up for a drink of water from the bathroom, then decided to write in her journal. She was just about to start when her phone rang.
It was Paul. "John is asking for you. Can you come to the suite?"
"Paul, I'm exhausted," Joie told him honestly.
"Yea, well, he's in a bad way."
Joie closed her eyes and took a breath. "I'll be right there."
How John could have gotten so drunk in such a short time was anyone's guess. Mal opened the suite door for her and walked her to John's room. When she stepped in and her eyes adjusted to the darkness, Joie noticed he was alone, his glasses askew on his face as he lay on his bed.
"Sooorrryyy," he slurred. "but you wouldn't tell Cyn would you?
"About what?" Joie asked calmly, walking to the bathroom to get a cool washcloth.
"You knowwww," he drawled. "you know."
Joie took his glasses off and put them on the nightstand. She removed his shoes and belt, then loosened his shirt collar, covering him with the blanket. Then she put the damp, cool washcloth on his forehead and gently wiped his sweaty face.
He was such a young man...but getting old fast.
"John," she said gently. "You put me in a tough spot. I'm friends with Cyn...and I love you."
"I love you toooo," he slurred.
"Anything that happens on the road is .... Between us, ok? That's the only way I can think of to handle my complete and utter duplicity."
"I love you...." He said again, closing his eyes.
She knew she'd see his face in the morning again...first thing in the morning....when she'd be there with tea and toast. Joie rolled him on his side and placed the wastebasket right next to the bed with a fresh towel in case he got sick. He was such a little boy.
She exited his room rubbing her forehead in exhaustion to see Ringo, eyes tightened, standing in wait.
"In John's room again, eh?" he asked, angrily. "You spend an awful lot of time taking care of him."
"Ritchey..." Paul cautioned.
"No...," he blurted out, totally unlike the man Joie knew. "All she does is look after him."
"Ritchey, I took care of you too when you were sick," Joie softly reminded him.
"He's not sick, he's drunk..." he continued to badger her.
"So are you, buddy. Look, I'm going to bed," Joie announced, fatigue in her voice. "I think you should all go to bed. Today has been enough..."
"You're not telling me anything," he grumbled. "I'll do what I fucking well please. You're not my wife or my mother..."
"Ritch..." Paul said again.
"Oh sod off," Ringo said to him. "I talked to Brian. What are we paying her for? To babysit John?"
Joie was either going to cry or explode. She wouldn't give any of them the satisfaction of seeing her cry. Her maximum tolerance had been reached.
"Listen to me you goddamn fucking shithead," she pointed at Ringo, her eyes aflame, "I'm done with your shit and everyone else's shit. Go fuck yourself. Twice. I can go home anytime I please. I'm not your fucking slave."
Joie was standing there hyperventilating while Ritchey continued to badger her. It was time, George thought, for the cavalry and stood up calmly from the sofa. He walked over to Joie who was still letting Ringo have it with both barrels.
"Come with me," he said taking her arm.
She walked out with a final "fuck you" to Ritchey, thrown over her shoulder.
"I can walk....." she all of a sudden turned on George, pulling her arm away from him with a strong jerk.
"I know. You can talk too," he said with a slight chuckle, walking beside her down the hall.
Joie felt the tears coming. Brian would can her for sure now. But she really didn't care. The adventure was over a long time ago. And she'd only been in England 3 months.
When she got to her room, George took the key from her and opened the door.
"Get some sleep," he told her gently.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" she asked him, holding back her tears. "I just told you all to go to hell..."
He escorted Joie into her room and closed the door behind him. "He's drunk Joie. Just let it go. Neither Ritchey nor John will remember any of it anyway."
Joie looked at him and quickly turned around as tears began to slip from her eyes. No way was she going to let George see her this way. Absolutely not.
But she couldn't stop the tears coming from her eyes. George put his arms around her shoulders and gently leaned Joie against him. He could feel the hiccups of her body as she tried to suppress her tears. His lips were near her ear as she listened to his slow, calming cadence, closing her eyes peacefully.
"It's ok," he told her softly. His body swayed gently, almost imperspectively. "It's ok, Joie. I've got you now."
"I'm sorry...."she told him, stepping out of his embrace, worried she might wordlessly beg him to kiss her. "I told myself I wasn't going to cry and here I am blubbering like a fool..."
"I won't tell," he answered, stepping forward. "Your secret is safe with me."
Words came scrambling out of her mouth. How she missed home, missed her family, felt like she was out of her element, how useless she felt. Then she told him how Brian was giving her a hard time, how she wanted to find a place of her own, how grateful she was to be there, how she loved taking care of them....it all came out in a rush of words that George couldn't even follow. He led her over to the little sofa in her room and sat her down. He went into her bathroom and she heard the water running; he returned to her with a cool cloth.
"It seems to work..." he told her, sheepishly.
She took the cloth and touched both cheeks with it. "Thank you. You have been more than nice to me."
"Good," he answered, heading toward the door to leave. All of a sudden, he stopped. He went back to Joie on the sofa, leaned down and ever so lightly kissed her forehead. "Goodnight, Joie."
Joie blinked several times and watched him go out of her hotel room door. "Goodnight George...and thanks again."
The door closed behind him.

I was talking to a friend the other day and she brought up how Elain’s been so terrible to Lucien, so maybe Lucien and Vassa could be a thing. Mind you, this is just a casual reader. She couldn’t even remember Vassa’s name. I had to tell her the name and why they COULDN’T work. I just don’t see it happening. But then she said okay what about Tamlin and Vassa?!
And I was…..not sure how to feel about that.
What do you think?
Much love! 😘
Good morning to you! 😊
(I know you just asked about Tamlin and Vassa but I ended up going off on a tangent so I'm sorry about that 🙈)
While I agree that Elain isn't treating Lucien the way we wish she would treat Lucien, I think she has her reasons. It's still painful to witness because he's been so respectful of her needs and wants (which I think will only lead to him getting the very best HEA).
But that argument always confuses me. That because Elain isn't playing nice right now, Lucien should be with someone else. Your friend isn't alone in thinking that because it's one of the big arguments going around but it never makes sense.
Feyre didn't play nice with Rhys for quite some time (she pretty much blamed his people for something they had no control over and told him she hated him) and I don't remember seeing the arguments that maybe Rhys should have taken up one of the offers he received at Rita's.
Nesta definitely didn't play nice with Cassian. She not only refused to take a gift he put a lot of thought into but had no issues with him realizing she had another Male upstairs while suspecting Cassian was something to her. Yet no one ever tried to pair Cassian off with Emerie or someone else.
So I wonder why only Elain is expected to be nice to her Mate and if she's not, we want her Mate to give up on her for another female? We loved that Rhys waited for Feyre to figure her stuff out. We all think Cassian is a hero for continually holding out his hand to Nesta even though she straight up told him to leave her alone.
I think Elucien is endgame but even if they're not, I'd still like to get to an Elain book and hear why she's kept her distance before deciding whether Lucien would be better with someone else.
I think, though it's painful, their current distance to one another is really healthy. He's not fully over Jesminda and though he's drawn to his Mate, Elain deserves him when he's not comparing her to his dead lover. When he's truly free of his past demons and guilt over Jesminda's death to give Elain his all. And Elain deserved a chance to entertain the idea of someone that's not her ex fiance, that's not her Mate. This girl had one serious relationship only to find herself in another situation that is the most serious relationship anyone could possibly have with another. She's not the playing the field type but it's ok for her not to jump right in to forever.
As far as Vassa and Lucien, I'd love to know what reasons you had for them not being a match. Did your friend agree with the points you were making?
I truly don't see them together. There's no real chemistry between them in SF (though she has that fire and snark with Jurian -> Lucien is a total third wheel), they have lived together for a year, had plenty of time to get to know one another and he still looks at Elain with longing. And while I like Vassa, she's a bit too abrasive for Lucien. She doesn't seem to care that she caused him discomfort over her comments about Tamlin and she's a bit bossy. For someone like Lucien, that's not a great thing because he's not the kind to push back and assert his dominance. I really do think his best match is someone who's not necessarily meek and always defers to Lucien but someone who doesn't have that constant need for control over things. Someone who would share in the decision making and show interest in getting his opinion on things rather than thinking their own is always right.
Vassa and Tamlin? They both have foul mouths and tempers and I think Vassa could hold her own against Tamlin's controlling ways.
So it's not necessarily that they be a terrible match but I don't find it likely because of the wording she uses for Vassa and Jurian. They already share the same vision for their people, they're "at each others throats as they like to be" which is extremely similar to how SJM described Nesta and Cassian, and they're both humans who are more than humans.
Honestly, I'll be surprised if we get a full on Tamlin love story from this series. SJM might end things where Tamlin is talking to another female looking happier than anyone had seen him in a long time but she's got so many other characters and couples she's building toward, I think Tamlin is on the low priority list. I mentioned it the other day but SJM loved Dorian yet he still didn't have a nice and tidy HEA at the end of the TOG. She hinted at a future for he and Manon but we never really got confirmation as to what their future held. I imagine something similar for Tamlin.
Thank you for messaging me and much love back to you! 😍

steady pt three (i keep all my affection in a paper cup)
pt one | pt two | pt three | masterlist | prequel
pairing- rooster x female bartender!reader (no y/n)
synopsis-
You want to tell her you know how she feels, it’s truly unfair for someone to look this good with that mustache. There’s a bead of sweat rolling down his neck to his collarbone and you want nothing more than to follow it with your tongue. Alice looks like she agrees with you.
Completely unaware of his own effect, Bradley just swipes his card.
warnings- 18+ minors DNI, unprotected sex oops, light daddy kink/bradley bradshaw is a soft daddy dom that just wants to take care of his girl this is the hill i'll die on, overstimulation, oral (f receiving), lil bit of praise kink (can i write smut without someone -especially rooster- saying good girl, prob not), breeding kink if you squint but like...don't it's like half a line & i'm scared of kids so it's not really breeding kink idk, no kink negotiation here so not a good example of what you should do irl, brief mention of past infidelity (no current cheating)
length- 5.6k ish
an- i can't believe this is over this is literally the most difficult thing i've ever written, also for real publix sandwiches are the goat i wouldn't share mine with bradley. I’m sorry the end was so cheesy I hate myself lol ok ily all bye
this chapter title is also from only for a moment by lola marsh lmao i basically wrote 15k based on one song that's less than 3 minutes long
You slam the door a little harder than necessary when you get to the rental car.
“Did you get the closure you needed?” Bradley asks tentatively, probably wary of the chaos you know is simmering under your skin.
“Closure from another person is a myth,” you answer firmly. “Only you can give yourself closure.”
“So, no, in other words.”
You appreciate that he’s at least trying to keep the amusement out of his voice as you repeat his cheesy quotes back to him, but it's short-lived because everything feels too small, too suffocating in the muggy Austin air.
You almost don't tell Bradley, but a part of you recognizes you need to get the words out. That someone else needs know about you and Jake so it doesn't subsist only in your eyes, so it doesn't blind you as it disrupts your field of vision, bright spots of an incoming migraine.
“He said he’s in love with me.”
His knuckles go white around the steering wheel, and you raise an eyebrow.
After a beat he relaxes, tone frustratingly even. “Bold, considering he’s still married, right?”
“Bold,” you scoff. “That’s one way to put it. I didn’t bother to ask. No ring, but we all know how you pilots are about rings.”
“Why?”
You shrug. Because it doesn’t matter.
“I want to ask you something, but you have to promise not to get mad at me,” he continues, gaze fixed on the road.
Even though you know you’re unlikely to get mad at him, you grumble anyways. “No promises.”
“I’m not trying to sound judgmental. You obviously loved him. But can I ask, why you stayed so long? Wasn’t it excruciating?”
Loved. Past tense. You're surprised as you realize how true that feels, that Jake has maybe, finally, become someone you loved and not someone your heart still beats for.
“I’ve never been in a serious relationship before,” you admit, softly, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks. “At a certain point, maybe I started to think there was something wrong with me, a reason I wasn’t worth the effort of a real relationship. Like maybe what I had with Jake was better than I would ever get from someone else.”
You hear a pained noise from him, but barrel on, knowing if you don’t get the words out right now, they may live inside you forever.
“It wears on you after awhile. My guy friends are always acting sarcastic about it, wow must be so horrible to be pretty, so shitty that everyone wants to sleep with you. People say it enough, men confirm it with their actions, and eventually, you start to feel like that’s all you’re worth.
You shudder; you’ve never admitted that out loud before.
"I know what it looks like, but it was more than sex. I’d just never felt that way about anyone before.”
Bradley pulls into the parking lot of your hotel, but you’re staring straight ahead, admission having frozen you in place.
“I don’t know how to make you believe you’re worth more than that. Seresin was practically falling apart, and he hasn’t even seen you in almost a year, for fuck’s sake. Those guys that missed out on knowing you, they’re morons.”
He pauses and takes a deep breath, looks over at you and you feel his dark eyes burning into the side of your face.
“Cali, I—if you think he’s being serious, if you want to be with him, I know it’s complicated, but I have your back.”
Any ice that was thawing around you suddenly frosts again.
“You think I should try to work things out,” you say slowly. “With Jake.”
He flinches. “That’s what you’re taking from—fuck, never mind. I didn’t say that. I just want you to know I’m here for you, whatever you decide.”
Your stomach is sinking and you’re not entirely sure why.
“Thank you,” you manage to murmur, squeezing his forearm affectionately before getting out of the car, worried he’ll see the tears forming in your eyes.
It stays sunk as you get back to your hotel room, as you get ready for bed silently, as you bury yourself under the covers and turn your back to him.
He feels miles away in the other bed, somehow farther away than he does with a flight of stairs separating you at home in Florida.
Sure, a mini vacation to a wedding (even if it is to Texas of all places) is a little intense for friends, but that’s yours and Bradley’s thing if you’re being honest. You guys have spent the last six months being a little intense and over-committed. Being the only things to pull each other out of the dark places you longed to hide in.
You agreed to come, as a friend. It’s not like you guys pretended to be dating, it’s not like he didn’t introduce you to everyone as his friend from Florida.
You’re not sure when you started hoping for more, when you started thinking there was something promising constructing itself in the space between your apartments.
+
Rooster immediately knows it was a mistake to visit you at work. But you’re working the early shift and things have been so off since you guys got back from Texas. It’s like you’ve retreated into your shell, like you’ve put back on every layer he spent months peeling away.
You smile when you see him, but there’s something hollow in it, something not all there.
He’s pretty sure he overstepped asking you about Jake, but he doesn’t know how to bring it up again, how to apologize without making it worse.
He couldn’t help it; he saw how Jake looked at you. Understands how Jake feels, knows all too well the magnetic pull of you, the involuntary twitch of fingers to touch you. But the way you stole glances after you stopped panicking at his presence…well he’s fairly certain you’ve never looked at him the way you tried to hide you were looking at Jake.
He felt all the air empty from the room the moment you two were aware of each other's presence.
Bradley doesn’t know how to compete with a love like that.
Despite all that he can’t stay away from you, can’t spend another night in his apartment wondering what you’re thinking.
Unfortunately, that means he’s in a touristy tiki bar, politely letting a girl chat him up while you busy yourself making sweet cocktails with overcomplicated garnishes just out of his line of sight.
She’s pretty. And nice. She’s drinking a Jungle Bird which he knows you don’t detest making, so he doesn’t feel bad when she orders another to stick around and talk to him. She laughs at his jokes and doesn’t tell him he’s an idiot for not liking The Office. As far as he can tell (given that he met her about five minutes ago) there’s absolutely nothing wrong with her.
Except for the fact that she’s not you, of course.
She excuses herself to the bathroom and you make your way over to his side of the bar, wordlessly putting a fresh beer in front of him.
“You should ask her out,” you suggest. “She’s gorgeous.”
Bradley stalls, blinks twice. His tongue is suddenly sticking to the roof of his mouth. “You think so?”
You roll your eyes. Usually, he secretly loves how much you roll your eyes, the fire that’s always lit behind them. Loves the bratty disposition you manage to express with one little look. He’s always liked how expressive your features are, how he can read your mood before you even say a word.
Right now though, it just makes him uneasy.
“Everyone thinks so, look at her.”
“No—that’s not what I—” he stutters. “I meant, you really think I should ask her out?”
“Yeah, she obviously likes you. It’s not like she’s going to say no.”
Bradley hates the way his heart sinks at your suggestion, but nods anyways, choosing not to correct your assumption that he’s stammering with nervousness over this girl he just met. He desperately wants to change the subject, to make sure he’ll be able to see you outside of the shell you put on for work.
“I have your suitcase at home if you want to get it after work. Sorry, I forgot it was still in the Bronco when I left the other morning.”
When he left for work after carrying your sleeping form up to his apartment, not wanting to risk waking you by searching for the keys to your place, because you looked too peaceful for him to wake up after the flight back.
He forced himself to sleep on the couch, despite how pretty you looked in his bed, how badly he wanted to crawl in with you, tell his students he got stuck in Texas, and keep you in bed with him forever.
He walks home when you tell him you'll come by after Beth takes over, after Jungle Bird slides him her number on a napkin, hoping it’ll clear his head. Sits on the beach, watches the sky darken over the water. Wonders if he should play it cool and wait to text her. Wonders if he even wants to text her at all.
He knows he’s ready to date again after Lauren, has been for a while now, so eventually, he does text, because pining after you isn’t going to get him anywhere.
He thinks he can be your friend, if that's all he's going to get.
He’s just barely gotten through his front door when you knock, sweaty and red-faced.
“Just got back from a run,” you tell him, clearly having seen the question perched on his lips. You’re still breathing a little hard and it’s sending his blood in the opposite direction of where he needs it to be going.
The sweat dripping down into the valley of your breasts is giving him decidedly not friendly thoughts.
“You hate running,” he says instead, brows furrowed.
You shrug. “Did you make plans with the girl from the bar?”
He rubs the back of his neck, feeling awkward.
“Yeah,” he answers finally. “We’re going out this weekend.”
“That’s great,” you say flatly, immediately turning to leave, picking up your forgotten suitcase a little too aggressively, like it’s done something to offend you.
“Hey, wait, hold on.” Bradley reaches out for your arm, tugging gently and forcing you to stop in your tracks. “Are we in a fight right now? Is this about the wedding?”
“No,” you answer petulantly. You won’t meet his eyes, instead staring down at where his fingers encircle your wrist.
“No, we’re not in a fight or no, this isn’t about the wedding?”
“This isn’t about the wedding,” you reply through clenched teeth. “Not entirely, at least.”
He can’t help but let pride swell through him at your words, knowing a few months ago you would’ve lied about being fine until you were blue in the face.
It still feels like he’s taking a shot in the dark, a tiny flicker of hope igniting in his chest. “You told me to ask her out.”
You cringe, face twisting in pain like you just sucked on a lemon. “Only because you were pushing me to go back to Jake! I thought that was what you wanted. I thought—”
You’re breathing hard, but he’s pretty sure your chest is heaving with emotion, not from your run. Your mouth is open to continue when he says your name.
Not Cali. It sounds hard and serious as it passes his lips. You wince and he immediately feels bad.
“Stop,” he continues firmly, determined not to lose his nerve at the hurt crossing your features, willing himself not to get worked up and loud. “Don’t put words in my mouth. That’s not what I was doing. I know we went to the wedding as friends, but it’s stupid to deny there’s been something building between us for a while now.”
Your expression softens and Bradley knows instantly that you feel it too.
“I just didn’t want you to shut the door on Jake out of some obligation to me. I want you to choose me, for me. Not because I’m not him.”
He sees the moment it clicks for you, the second you start seeing how the wedding must’ve looked through his eyes.
“I’ll never go back to Jake,” you say quietly. “For lots of reasons that have nothing to do with you.”
Something inside him unfurls, anxiety sitting in his stomach loosening, but he’s not done, can’t be done, until his intentions are crystal clear.
“What do you want? Do you even know? Because I know what I want.” He grabs your arms, turning your body to face him fully. Hooks a finger under your chin, making you look up at him as he tries to gather the courage to say this next part. “And I can’t settle for anything less. If you want casual, I can’t give you that.”
“I don’t want you to go out with her.” It’s as good as an admission from you, he knows that.
Dark eyes warm as the beginning of a smile stretches across his face. His chest is lightening, warmth bubbling within. “How come?”
“You’re smart enough to do the math,” you mutter, rolling your eyes. But there’s a bright, happy tinge edging at the corners of your mouth.
He’s full-on grinning now, reaching to pull you into him by the waist. He tucks his face into your hair, so you won’t see the giddy expression on his face. “Tell me anyways.”
“Want you all to myself,” you mumble, lips ghosting over his skin to make him shudder.
You might have more to say, but Bradley used all his patience flying today and his hand tilts your chin to him, lips covering yours before you can make another sound.
You make a tiny mewl in surprise against his mouth as he grips you, tongue sliding past your lips and his blood immediately rushes south.
Making a face when Bradley manages to pull himself away from your lips, you look down at your sweaty sports bra. “I need to shower.”
“Shower here,” he suggests. “I’ll make us dinner. You can spend the night, maybe? And I won’t sleep on the couch this time? I promise I’ll behave.”
Bradley sees his hopeful eyes mirrored back at him when he finally takes a chance to look at your face.
Things are so shakily composed between the two of you, that he’s somewhat afraid if he lets you go back downstairs to your apartment you’ll spiral and come up with a hundred reasons not to give you guys a shot.
Maybe he’s being insecure, sue him.
You seem to understand where he’s coming from, the tenuous connection hanging delicately in the air between the two of you. Nodding, your fingers play with the hem of his shirt fitfully before you rush to his shower, like if you waited for another second you might not be able to peel yourself off him.
He inflates with pride at that too.
Bradley overestimated his abilities, probably, when he promised to behave. He didn’t think about how hard it would be not to think about you naked in his shower while he seeks out ingredients to throw together for dinner.
Didn’t think about how good you’d smell, fragrant with his body wash as you wrap your arms around him from behind.
Bradley’s movements are shaky, and jerky when he turns around to kiss you. He clears his throat, and only just barely keeps himself from running his hands underneath the baggy top that hangs off your shoulders. “Is that my shirt?”
You freeze. “I…yes. Is that okay? I didn’t have anything with me, but I can run downstairs…”
You say something under your breath that he can’t quite make out. Your face is completely unreadable and Bradley’s body flashes hot and cold every other second.
“No, don’t, it, uh, looks good on you,” he says finally when he’s pretty sure he’s not going to rip it in the process of pulling it over your head.
Bradley’s taking deep breaths, using grounding techniques. He breathes in through his nose, and out through his mouth. He knows you’re not trying to tease him. You’re not doing anything, not really.
This is Florida, everyone is scantily clad more often than they’re not.
If he’s going to behave, he’s going to have to tap into that self-control he beat himself over the head with every time he saw you in a bikini before today.
It’s just so much worse now that he’s allowed to touch you.
“It’s hard, with you looking like that in my shirt. I want to fuck you stupid,” he admits.
Your mouth drops open in surprise.
“But I think we should take things slow. I don’t want to mess this up by jumping in before we’re ready.”
His cock twitches when he notices the disappointment you’re not trying very hard to hide.
“Okay,” you pout. “You’re probably right.”
You turn to open the fridge, leaning to grab a water and his shirt rides up a little higher on your already bare legs.
Bradley groans, head falling back to stare at the ceiling. “Baby, you’re killing me.”
+
You can’t believe how much you hated Florida beaches when you first moved. The Keys are beautiful, with endless white sand and clear water.
You convince Bradley to stop by Publix on the way back, with promises of pasta for dinner. You really just want a sub to take to work tomorrow, but you’re not going to tell him that.
The poor cashier practically swallows her tongue when she sees Bradley, shirt open over his bare chest and covered in sand, sunglasses sliding down his nose that’s pink from the sun. He makes sure to look at her name tag and smiles genuinely at her when he asks, Alice, how’s your day going?
You’re going to pass out.
It’d be infuriating if it wasn’t so adorable.
This time you’re counting all the ways he’s not Jake, but it’s a good thing. Jake would’ve preened, leaned into smirk, just so he could see the blush rise on the poor girl’s cheeks.
It’s not that that’s bad, you know you do the same sometimes. Smirking at guys you know are giving you a once-over while you make their drinks, sparkle in your eyes because you don’t always hate the attention.
But it’s oddly endearing with Bradley, how he doesn’t seem to know the effect he has on people. Like he doesn’t fly multi-million-dollar planes for a living, like he couldn’t use that to get any girl he wanted in his bed.
He’s just being mean when you guys get to the car, flinging his unbuttoned shirt off and into the back of the Bronco and muttering something about tan lines.
Your mouth is watering.
When you get back to your complex, you snag his forgotten shirt and form a plan.
“Caliiiiiii,” Bradley sings as he bursts into your apartment. It’s a good thing you never listened to Beth about locking your front door because shirtless Bradley Bradshaw is a sight to behold. “Showered so you wouldn’t complain about—”
You hear him stop dead in his tracks at the entrance to your kitchen. When you look over your shoulder at him those plush lips are parted, eyes roaming over the back of you. You’re clad in one of his marginally less offensive button-ups (at least there aren’t any birds on it), thrown hastily over your bikini.
“How gentlemanly of you to shower for dinner with little ol’ me,” you giggle. “But I have to admit I haven’t had time for more than rinsing the sand off.”
He ignores you completely, tone accusing like you hadn’t spoken at all. “You’re doing this on purpose.”
You consider denying it but can’t fully hold back the smirk forming. “Well, you seemed to enjoy it when I wore your shirt last time.”
Bradley just nods dumbly.
“Anyways, don’t get too excited, this is one of three dishes I can actually make, but I thought we’d…” You trail off because he’s suddenly right behind you, crowding you so you feel the heat radiating from him as he brackets you with his arms.
“Nope,” he says tersely. “Dinner can wait. Turn off the stove.”
He turns you around so he can kiss you, slow and deliberate. His tongue slides between your lips assertively, hands tapping on your thighs as a sign for you to hop backward and up on the counter. “Tell me if it’s too much, okay?”
“Wait, what?” You ask, but he’s already on his knees.
You should’ve known then and there he was going to be nothing but trouble.
The first time Bradley makes you come, you’re still in the kitchen. He’s kneeling with his face buried in your pussy, skimpy bathing suit bottoms long flung behind him, lips curled around your clit insistently even as your thighs clutch his head in a way that must be uncomfortable. After all his talk of wanting to wait and do things right, it’s almost funny. Would be, if your mind wasn’t currently busy whiting out.
The second time, he drags you to the living room before you’ve had any time to recover and pulls your back against his chest in front of the couch. The tall mirror in the corner of the living room displays the absolute debauchery unfolding on the floor in the middle of your apartment.
“Keep your legs open, baby. You can do that, right? Be good for me?”
You’re nodding before you even know what you’re doing, head jerking up and down like a bobblehead.
“Fuck, look at you,” he croons in between the nips he’s determinedly pressing on your neck. Barely even a command, you still look up, watching your reflection as his lips trace across the top of your shoulder, mustache leaving red marks in its wake. One hand is busy tugging the strings of your bathing suit top loose so he can toss it out of his way, while the other drifts to tease your inner thighs.
Bronze eyes meet yours in the mirror and he grins, like the cat that got the canary. “Gorgeous, darlin’.” And then he pushes two fingers into you without warning, the stretch making you keen as your head falls back on his shoulder. “You’ve no idea how much I’ve thought about you like this.”
“Ohmygo—Bradley.” You turn your head to kiss him, but it ends up being little more than your lips slotting together and you moaning straight into his mouth as he fucks his fingers in relentlessly, your hands gripping his arms like they can’t decide if they want to pull him in closer or push him away, oversensitive as you are from his mouth.
You sink into him, into his hands, his grip. Let it erase the gravity that keeps you tethered to the ground, let yourself flutter high above the clouds.
You don’t even realize how close you are until he curls his fingers inside you to graze that soft spot, thumbing at your clit. His other hand palms your tit and tweaks your nipple at the same time his teeth close on your neck and you’re done for, letting it crash into you, cunt clenching around his fingers and back arching away from his chest.
It takes you a few seconds to come down, eyes closed as you blindly turn your head in search of Bradley’s mouth. He kisses you sweetly, but briefly and you make a noise of discontent when he pulls away. You open your eyes to glower at him but when you do, you see a filthy gleam in his eyes that warms you straight to your core like you didn’t just come twice in two different rooms of your house.
His fingers are suddenly pressing at your lips, and you watch his eyes glaze over as you take them in and suck, licking your release from his fingers. You’re suddenly very, very aware of how hard he is behind you, thighs clenching at the realization that he’s straining against his shorts, grinding against your ass because he’s so turned on from getting you off.
God, he’s so perfect it’s not even fair.
His digits in your mouth are giving you your own wicked ideas, about returning the favor as you wriggle your way around to face him. It’s a good thing his other arm immediately goes to support you because you’re pretty sure your legs are made of jelly.
He seems to read your mind, or maybe just the way your cheeks hollow around his fingers as you look down to the bulge in his pants, lips already forming wicked promises as he pulls his hand away from you. “Next time, baby. Need to be inside you.”
The high-pitched whimper that leaves you at that would be embarrassing if you could currently remember that you have downstairs neighbors. You can’t, though, so who cares.
“Want you to ride me,” he grunts. “Have to see how gorgeous my girl looks bouncing in my lap. Can you do that for me?”
To be honest, you’re not sure you can. It’s a 50/50 chance your legs will give out the moment Bradley stops holding you up, but you want to, want to so badly.
You nod anyways, figuring odds are Bradley will catch you if you melt into the floor, and he swings around so he can lay flat on the rug. His shirt slips off your shoulders, getting trapped around your elbows as you lean forward to support yourself on his chest. You’re about to fling it off when he makes a strangled noise, hands going to bring the material back up.
“Baby, please.” There’s a little whine in Bradley’s voice that turns you inside out. “Keep it on.”
That sweetness, that little crack in his dominance is way hotter than it has any right to be.
You make quick work of his shorts, biting your lip as you pull him out, his tip red and leaking precum.
“Christ, Bradley, this how you got your callsign?” You manage to mumble as he pulls you up to balance your hand on his chest again.
The bastard winks. “I know you can take it. Been so good for me, why stop now?”
Using your free hand to guide you, you sink down slowly, not bothering to hold in the moans at the stretch of him.
Stars are bursting behind your eyes that are squeezed tight against the intensity of it, your slick walls are oversensitive and shaking already. Bradley’s hands are clenched on your hips, trying not to move before you’re ready.
You roll your hips, starting to find your rhythm, and he groans, head thumping back against the floor.
When he looks back up at you his eyes are almost completely black. “Look so fucking beautiful bouncing on my cock, darlin'.”
He reaches up to grab your tits, thumbs brushing over your nipples just to make you squirm even more, before trailing his fingers down to your clit as he starts shifting up to meet the grind of your hips and it’s so much, too much, sending sparks straight through you.
You shudder. “Bradley—da—I can’t.”
There’s something knowing in his gaze, at your pace stuttering, at your half-formed words trying to claw their way out of your throat. He slows as you do, ever so slightly pulling his finger from your clit. “Need a break, baby?”
You bite your lip, refusing to meet his molten gaze, giving only a tiny shake of your head, trying to find your rhythm again.
When he smirks, you can feel it permeating the air around you. “That’s what I thought. One more, I know you can give me one more.”
He plants his feet flat on the floor behind you, giving himself the power and leverage to fuck you in earnest from below. You’re trembling, you know sounds are leaving your mouth, but you’ve no idea if they’re words at this point.
You’re not fluttering above the clouds anymore, you’re flying, speeding through, fast and hard and riotous.
Bradley’s voice is low and gravelly, but he’s looking up at you with reverence. “It’s okay, baby, you can let go. I’ve got you, gonna take care of my girl.”
“Daddy,” you whine, any sense of coherency, shame, or worry having left you two orgasms ago.
The sound that rips from Bradley’s chest at that is rough and guttural, hands going to your hips in a bruising hold. “That’s right, gonna come for daddy like a good girl, aren’t you?”
You’re nodding, babbling, keening yesdaddyyesfuckbradley— You dig your nails into his chest as it hits you. Electricity ripples under your skin, through your veins, dominoes cascading down and hitting every nerve ending in your body. It’s right on the edge of pain, body worn out and spent from tensing and releasing.
“Fuck, baby, so gorgeous when you come on my cock, gonna fuck my girl so full,” he grunts, big hands bouncing you like a ragdoll in his lap.
Even through the fog, his words hit you hard. “Fuck—please, daddy.”
His thrusts get shallower, wilder, before his back arches from the floor, mouth spilling incoherent praise, holding you down onto him as he spills inside of you.
You slump down onto him, the only sound in the room yours and Bradley’s heavy breathing.
You’re falling apart, body trembling and shaking, and you’re still on the floor. You’ve no idea how you’ll survive when Bradley finally takes you to a bed.
“Jesus,” he whispers. “And here I was thinking you couldn’t get any hotter.”
You flush pink immediately, wincing as you move to get off him, wetness sliding down your thighs. He scoops you up almost immediately, carrying you to the shower and mumbling under his breath about making sure to keep daddy’s cum inside of you.
“Oh my god, Bradley,” you whine. “I can’t go again."
The pasta is completely unsalvageable by the time you get out of the shower. He’s lucky you’re willing to share your precious sandwich with him.
When you see your downstairs neighbor the next day, she immediately reddens and turns on her heel to get away from you.

You’re back at the beach when Penny gets a call from you.
“Burning off some energy,” you tell her when she asks what you’re up to. “I’ve had a lot of that lately.”
“Should’ve just let me introduce you to Rooster from the beginning.”
“Who says this has anything to do with Rooster?” You ask, even though both of you know you’re lying through your teeth.
“Nothing wrong with being happy, honey.” You can hear her smiling through the phone.
“I might actually be happy?” You joke. “Is that what this is?”
“You guys are in the honeymoon phase. Every song on the radio is about you, neither of you can do anything wrong—”
“Oh, he does plenty wrong, believe me—”
Penny isn’t bothering to hide her laugh anymore, but her tone is still soft and caring. “It’s sweet. Rooster’s a good guy. He’s been through a lot.”
“He is. I’m kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop,” you admit. “Wish I could just enjoy it.”
“It’s hard. You don’t give your heart away easily,” Penny responds like you’re easy to read, easy to understand.
Maybe you are.
“You wouldn’t be taking this chance unless he was worth it,” she adds when you don’t answer, too busy thinking about how maybe that mask you’ve always worn isn’t as opaque as you thought it was.
Maybe that’s fine. Maybe you really are as strong as you pretended to be with that mask.
That’s the thing about masks. Sometimes you realize they’re more a part of you than you ever thought. When you thought you were faking it the whole time.
“He’s definitely worth it.”
Rooster raises an eyebrow at you, having come back to the tree you’ve taken residence under.
“Talking about my other boyfriend,” you tease, trying not to get distracted by the swimsuit that seems to be riding lower than it was before he ventured into the water.
“Hand the phone to Rooster, I want to talk to him.”
You giggle, sticking it out in his direction. “Penny wants to talk to you.”
“If you think my loyalty here lies with you, you're sorely mistaken,” Penny says, warning dancing all over her tone.
“You don’t have to be worried, Pen.” Bradley looks at you, eyes warm, fingers drifting up your legs. “If anyone’s gonna get their heart broken here, it’s me.”

You don’t notice the date, but a year since you moved to Florida, almost to the day, you realize you’re in love with Bradley Bradshaw.
As it turns out, loving Bradley is like flying high above the clouds.

Don't look!
Pairing : Bakugo katsuki x gn!reader, Midoriya Izuku x gn!reader, Todoroki Shoto x gn!reader.
Genre : fluff
Warnings : insecure reader, cussing, savage deku?, kinda angsty but overall super fluffy ^3^
Synopsis : you're insecure about your side profile but they're having none of it.
Not gonna lie, he probably wouldn't even have known that this was an insecurity that people had.
So when you first start dating he wouldn't think much of it when you cover your nose while laughing or when you contour your jawline extra hard.
Until one day you start letting your thoughts get to you again, you think about how everyone around you have such a beautiful side profile.
You start wondering why Katsuki even bothers to be with someone as "ugly" as yourself, I mean has he seen his face.
But anyways you start distancing yourself from the world again, start hiding your face with your hair, have mental break downs in the night, refuse to take pictures and completely shut him out while thinking you're being subtle.
But no, no, no- my mans noticed...and he's currently having a full blown panic attack on the inside.
He's really worried at this point and starts thinking about what he's done wrong, he tries to talk to you but you're always making excuses and running away from him.
Now, he's had enough and so he quite literally barges into your dorm room and demands an explanation as he keeps shouting at you until....
.....he takes in your tear stained face with fresh tears forming at the corner of your eyes.
You were seated on the floor with a hand mirror clutched to your chest, the same one that you use to point out all your insecurities in, your phone is on the ground next to you with a picture of a model, her perfect side profile on display...the same one that you always compare yourself to.
Cue in a confused, angry and sad boom boom boy 😔.
Who the fuck had the audacity to make his baby cry hmm 🤬.
But then his anger vanishes just as it comes and before you knew it, he's shut the door behind him, quickly walks upto you, swoops you into his arms and cradles you in his lap.
"Ssshhh....its ok baby, I'm right here". Bakugo softly coos in your ear while running his fingers through your hair and letting his other hand rub your back. "Talk to me honey, what's wrong?"
You pull back a little and look up at him into his pain filled eyes that still hold so much love for you and that's when you tell him everything.
You tell him about how you've always hated your nose, how you've always wished you'd had a more chiseled jawline, how you've been bullied about your side profile by your peers and how you've never felt good enough.
He still doesn't get it because you're genuinely the most stunning person he's ever laid his eyes on, but understands how this is something that seriously bothers you and so he's gonna do everything in his powers to yeet those insecurities out.
Now Bakugo isn't one to lie or sugarcoat something, but he's also not someone who'll let you sit and hurt yourself like that.
He takes a deep breath, cups your cheeks in his hands and looks at you with the most earnest look on his face.
"Listen here baby, you're right maybe you don't have the most chiseled jawline or the sharpest nose out there-"
You winced at that a little but he was quick to speak again.
"I'm not done yet-" he closes his eyes and thinks for a second, words have never been his thing as he's someone who prefers actions instead but right now you needed more than just a kiss or a hug, you needed security and reassurance, so he takes in another deep breath and opens his eyes to look at you again.
"-just because you don't have those doesn't mean you're any less beautiful." He said with a smile as you curiously looked at him. You looked so damn cute to him all he wanted to do was pounce on you right then and there, but he held himself back for your sake and the next things he said made you fall in love with him even more.
"What you have suits your gorgeous fucking face, you don't have to change for any stupid extra and no one's opinion, not even yours is going to make me view you any differently or make me love you any less." He leaned in and gave you a chaste kiss on your lips that pretty much took your breath away and then he pulled back with a cute blush on his face.
"So from now on only listen to me okay and no matter what-" he kisses you again and pulls back a second time "-I will make you look at yourself the way I and so many other people look at you".
Now he's had his fair share of insecurities and he's had a lot of people call him "plain looking" (which I still don't understand how when he's got some of the rarest and most beautiful features) even then those words about his looks have never really got to him.
But when it comes to you, he immediately knows something's up with all those self-deprecating jokes you apparently find to be funny.
Doesn't question you cause he doesn't want to scare you away, also because he trusts you to come to him if something is wrong.
But alas you and your stubborn ass refused to seek help from anyone and instead you chose to cope with yourself by putting yourself down in the form of those awful "jokes".
You've always tried to get yourself to stop this, but it soon became more than a coping mechanism, it was the only way you could hold yourself up without wanting breaking into peices.
That was dangerous.
But it's ok! It's still all fine and dandy until one day everything changes and you realise that all that self-deprecation didn't do shit.
Its Sunday today and you and your boyfriend Izuku have been walking around the shopping plaza for a while now.
The two of you were on a date, but you were also on a hunt for the new all might merch that your boyfriend has been fangirling about since forever. So far there was no luck on your end but y'all weren't about to give up just yet.
"OMG! I think I see it in there!" Izuku squeals cutely while pointing at what looks like a moderately big comic store that had an emo cyber punk looking aesthetic to it.
*Gasp*..."OMG! I think I see it too!! Let's go!!" and with that you grabbed his hand and were dragging your blushy stuttering mess of a boyfriend towards the store. It was adorable how easily he got flustered even after how the two of you were almost half a year into dating.
The two of you finally reached the store and stepped in, there it was the brand new neon tinted holographic Allmight figuring with working layers. Izuku's eyes sparkled as he ran towards it and immediately snatched it off the shelf.
"Yay we finally got it!" You cheered as you walked over to him and gave him a high five. The two of you had bright smiles on your faces as you talked about the figuring and walked towards the counter to pay for it.
You looked towards the counter where a young girl who looked about your age was working as a cashier, she had this bored expression on her face until she saw your boyfriend and it immediately changed into something you could only call as a flirty expression.
"Hey there handsome~ what can I help you with today~" she said in a sultry tone and gave him a wink. You and izuku were both puzzled at the fact that she not only just openly flirted with your boyfriend but also completely ignored your existence.
"U-um....er....we just need this figuring please". Izuku placed the box covered figuring on the counter and was about to pull his hands back when she quickly grabbed them and cupped them with her own hands.
"You sure, how about I give you my number and we ditch this place to go get coffee."
"Um -uh no thank you, I have a s/o!"
"Hmm...I don't see them."
"Well I'm right here and maybe you'd have seen me if you'd stop flirting with your customers and did your job properly." You said and at this point you were seething because even though she knew you were right there, she hadn't spared you a glance and pretend like you were completely invisible.
"Oh, so that's who you are....I was wondering why such an ugly person would be hanging out with someone like him-" she pauses and looks into Izuku's eyes with a bored expression "-you need to raise your standards, I mean have you looked at how hideous their nose is or how ugly their face is."
The two of you froze. Sure You've always made fun of yourself before but this was the exact reason why. You've always told yourself that if you'd make fun of yourself, you'd be desensitized to what others say to you but it's only now you realize that no amount of preparation would ever be enough to handle the real thing.
Shame. Humiliation. Pain. Fear.....This is what you felt at the momen-
"How. Dare. You." You turned towards Izuku and for the first time ever you were met with the most terrifying expression on his face. His eyes were dark and he looked...mad....like really really mad and you froze, the cashier looked like she was about to cry with the look he was giving her.
"I don't know who you think you are but you had no need to say whatever you just said and you are wrong because they have the most gorgeous facial features ever." at this he turned to you and softened his eyes a bit, he reached for your hand and gave you a gentle squeeze.
"I promise you sweetheart, you will always be the most beautiful person in my life and no one can tell you otherwise-" he looked at the slack jawed cashier with disgust and pointed towards her "-not stupid people like her-" he looked back into your eyes like you were the only two people in the store and pointed towards himself "-not me and lastly never will you ever tell yourself those kinds of words again even as a joke, got it."
Always openly staring at you in the most respectful way ✨.
Even before y'all started dating he would always stare at you in secret, but hey! it's not his fault you were so irresistibly attractive all the time.
Uhm...so moving on, he is observant as heck especially when it comes to you but unfortunately he's just as oblivious T_T.
He's always noticed how you'd get shy and walk away whenever he'd stare at you for too long and genuinely thinks it's adorable at how bashful you get.
But truthfully.....you're mortified, paranoid even at how much he stares at you.
I mean yeah it's adorable to see him so whipped for you but you're always wondering if he's secretly bashing your side profile in his head and the thought makes you wince ever single time.
But you always tell yourself to not let your insecurities define Shoto or effect your relationship and besides Shoto isn't a cruel person, he'd never think of you that way.....right...?
Oh God, he's doing it again, he's staring at you and this time it truly is terrible because he is seated right beside you. The two of you are seated wooden chairs, side by side in the U.A. library.
Your textbooks and notebooks are spread out on the table in front of you. You're in a more secluded part of the library opting to study in a more private area and boy oh boy did Shoto take advantage of that.
"Shoto, could you please stop staring at me like that". You held your textbook upto your face and looked the other way.
"But I want to look at you". Shoto pouted slightly and furrowed his brows at your actions, he reached for your wrists and tried to pull them down and to much to your inconvenience, he succeeded.
You see, while you still had a bunch of work left to do, Shoto had finished about 15 minutes ago. You told him to go back to the dorms but instead of listening to you, he denied your offer and has been staring at you with the most unreadable expression on his face.
"Why can't I admire the one that I love the most". He slightly tilted his head towards the side and flashed you the most genuine smile. Damn him for being so adorable but that's not enough for your insecurities to go away.
"Because I'm ugly". You finally said softly with your head hung low and tears threatening to fall. You wanted to shrivel up in a corner and fade away for sounding so vulnerable but at the same time it felt so good to let your thoughts out.
"You're....what..." His eyes were wide and his jaw was set a slack. Now this took him by surprise, he had expected a lot of things but never once had he expected....that. He gently grabbed your chin and tilted your face to meet his. "Love, you're the most beautiful person I've ever met, why would you ever say that."
"Because I'm not beautiful, everyone has such a gorgeous face especially from their side. I don't and you don't have to lie to me to make feel better about myself. I know I'm ugly and I'll always be that....just let me accept that and be Shoto." You said with your voice slightly raised and shaky from the lump in your throat.
Shoto's eyes darkened a little and his grip on you tightened a little but not enough to hurt you. To even think that someone as precious as yourself could ever have such awful thoughts about yourself- how long have you been silently suffering like this all by yourself.
He cupped your cheeks with his hands and met your eyes with the most determined look on his face. "Darling, I don't know who said that to you or even if that's an inside voice but, I will absolutely never let you accept yourself this way."
"Everything about you is perfect, from those gorgeous eyes that i always get lost in," he kisses your eyes.
"-to that perfect nose that helps you breath so you could live by my side another," he kisses your nose.
"-to those delicate beckoning lips that I wish to kiss forever." he finally captures your lips in a breath taking kiss just to slowly release them and look at you.
"And besides, you know better than to call me a liar baby, you know that I would never lie when it comes to you so let's pack up for today and let me show you how much I love you and how utterly enticing you are."

*bursts through your wall* VALTIEL!! THE HORNED KING!!! For the character ask. Pwease <3c ~ avid-adoxography
Send me a character and I'll list:
Valtiel
Favorite thing about them: The fact that he exists as an actual guardian angel to Cheryl? Granted the canon doesn't do much with this and in canon he probably doesn't actually care about her but I don't care, "Girl and her weird pet monster" is like my favorite friendship dynamic
Least favorite thing about them: How we just know so little about him and how he never appeared in another Silent Gill game outside of that weird dungeon-crawling spinoff, Book of Memories. And there he had no story significance, he just gave you missions. Pyramid Head is cool and all but PLEASE can we get some Valtiel content. He's the one that actually makes sense to see again since unlike PH he's not tied to one specific person's mind! But granted, I really want to see him be pals with Cheryl and they definitely won't do that since it wouldn't be scary.
Favorite line: He doesn't talk outside of giving you missions in Book of Memories. I like the noises you can hear him make in the cutscene where he retrieves dead Cheryl though. He's a snarly hissy boy
brOTP: CHERYL! I love the idea of him being all protective and friendly with her. And her helping him when he's banished because he gets hurt pretty bad...
OTP: I don't really know honestly. He's not a character I tend to ship romantically. I've seen stuff of him and Pyramid Head which was SPICY but idk if I like them romantically together
nOTP: I don't really like the romantic ship with Cheryl but it doesn't repulse me enough to call it a nOTP
Random headcanon: uh...he can walk normally he just prefers crawling
Unpopular opinion: I guess just that I don't ship him with Cheryl? Most of his fans seem to
Song I associate with them: Almost Human ~ Aurelio Voltaire
Favorite picture of them: Uh...IDK honestly
The Horned King
Favorite thing about them: Ugh, EVERYTHING. But I'll settle on his voice. John Hurt did such a good performance.
Least favorite thing about them: How little Disney actually acknowledges him. And that the only attraction that ever featured him is closed forever. One of the things I'd do if time travel were possible: Visit the Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour. One of the things I'd do if I were filthy rich: Buy whatever's left of his animatronic and have it restored for my own collection (or have a new one built if there's nothing left)
Favorite line: He doesn't have a bad line but I love the way he taunts the protagonists after capturing them. He's being sarcastic but the way he says it it doesn't even sound cocky, just cold. Shivers.
brOTP: I currently have him as besties with the other necromancers I've f/o'd -- Demongo and Licorice Cookie. For just Disney villains, I like the idea of him being reluctant pals with Madam Mim who just playfully annoys him. And I feel like he could lament over being a criminally underrated Disney villain with NOS-4-A2.
OTP: ME. ok but besides my selfship, Maleficent. I just...think they're cool together.
nOTP: I don't really have any ships that I really hate with him
Random headcanon: The gwythaints are like pets to him and they're descendants of the ones Arawn used to torment into obedience. They're one of the only living things he's kind to.
Unpopular opinion: Uh...IDK. Honestly at this point I think just liking him as a villain is an unpopular opinion because a lot of people either don't even know about him or think he's nothing special. In that case maybe my unpopular opinion is that I actually really like the movie he's from and would love to see it attempted again (preferably still animated but I would settle for a live-action adaptation as long as it uses good practical effects everywhere it can.)
Song I associate with them: I have a whole playlist but my go to song is Hail To The King ~ Avenged Sevenfold.
Favorite picture of them: I don't know if I still have it but that one where he sees the Cauldron-Born starting to die off again and he just looks DISTRAUGHT.

"There is a loneliness in this world so great that you can see it in the slow movement of the hands of a clock. People so tired mutilated either by love or no love. People just are not good to each other."
Y/N had never in her entire life thought that one man can change her life so rapidly. They met under the most unexpected circumstances, in the middle of bloodshed and agony, and yet they managed to develop the strongest emotion of it all.
•••
"C'mon, tell me. What is it?" Malarkey nugged her side, a soft smile set on his face.
Y/N glanced at him with so much fatigue in her eyes that Don almost shivered under her look. "I don't even know." she mumbled as her head fell into her hands.
"What did George do now?" her friend laughed winking at her knowingly with that typical grin of his. Malarkey knew all about the secret affair the duo shared but being the gossip part of the group, he desired to know what new happened between them. Y/N's sad looks and tired smiles were tearing his heart apart.
It was almost like all the agony of war happening around them wasn't enough. The broken soul of the young woman was joined by a broken heart.
"It's not worth a discussion, Don. That's my personal problem I have to deal with." Y/N offered him a reassuring smile that said the absolute opposite. Her look wandered to George Luz, a few meters away from them chatting with Buck and Perconte. She felt how her cheeks heated up a little, as cliche as it sounds, but just the sudden memory of his lips against hers sent shivers down her spine.
"I thought I meant something to him, Don," Y/N whispered suddenly, "because he looked at me like there was something in me worth looking at, you know."
"Because there is, Y/N! Don't let him make you think otherwise. You're a special person, my best friend." Malarkey took her around her shoulders gently. She flinched under his sudden touch but quicky gave in and relaxed. A hug was what she needed the most at the moment.
Y/N needed to be held so tightly and strongly, yet gently and softly. Her soul was shattered with each bullet, every blasted shell went right for her heart.
She was lost, exhausted, young but felt much older.
"Stop thinking, Y/N. Just accept the fact that this is who we are, a product of war." Don interrupted her thoughts chuckling a bit.
"I just hate how you can read my goddamn mind." Y/N laughed and punched his shoulder.
"That's what best friends are for, hey?"
•••
Y/N laid down in front of the barn Easy Company was currently staying in. She rested her head on a haystack looking at the stars so far away and still, she reached with her hand for them.
The night was clear and quiet and Y/N forgot for a moment, only for a moment, that the war's not here.
"Can I talk to you for a sec?" a familiar voice filled her ears out of the blue, followed by a quick "sure" and footsteps.
"What's up?" the other person asked casually and Y/N wondered so bad what they have so private to talk about. She knew it's bad to listen to secret conversations like that but she couldn't help it. Her curiosity was stronger than her.
"Are you really asking me what's up? You know how I feel about her so what the hell are you trying? Don't you touch her like that again." the first person almost yelled. Y/N could swear he even threw his hands in the air.
"Me? I'm sorry, George, but I don't know what you're talking about," Don replied calmly, "but I should ask you that. You keep telling me how much she means to you when the other day you were necking some woman in Eindhoven!"
Malarkey's words floated in the darkness of the night as a threat. They were followed by an awkward silence.
"I'm such a jerk." George finally admitted, his voice sounded defeated more than ever.
"Dude, don't say that to me," Malark patted his shoulder, "you better find her and get things straight."
•••
"May I sit right here?" his weak voice spoke up behind her back and when their eyes met after such a long time, something finally felt right in this chaos.
"Sure thing." Y/N nodded moving a bit to the side to make some space for him. She slapped herself in her mind for sounding so stressed out and nervous.
They both sat next to each other, breathing in the other person's presence, realizing how much they missed the little things of the other one.
"Look, Y/N, I'm not really good at this but I want you to know I'm real sorry. I didn't know what I was doing and I regret it so much." George breathed out quickly looking so desperate and sad like a lonesome little puppy.
"You don't have to apologise to me," she replied maybe a little too coldly than she intended, "we're not together and you're not obliged to be devoted to me."
"Don't say this, please. It meant nothing to me and..." Luz's voice drifted off into the night.
"And?"
George counted to three in his mind and breathed out. "And I just don't want to lose the woman I've fallen in love with."
Y/N stared at the soldier for some time without blinking. She had no idea that George harbors feelings like these for her. A small smile crept onto her lips.
"Don't you think it's over like that, Mr Luz." Y/N chuckled but she knew she'd forgiven him already. It was impossible to be mad at this man.
"Yes, ma'am, I'll keep that in mind." George genuiely smiled for the first time in days leaning in. Their lips touched slightly, it probably wasn't a proper kiss, but it was so intimate and passionate to both of them that they completely forgot about time, about war, about universe.
"Promise you won't do it again." Y/N whispered against his lips, her hands entangled in his hair pulling him closer to her with every second.
"I'm forever yours."

Well Helloooo Nurse
Pairings: Will Miller X Gender Neutral Reader ( Nurse Lark but goes by the name of Birdie)
Word count: 1887
Author's Note: Good Evening all, welcome to the Will Miller show. Please be gentle as it’s my first time writing for him. I also have no idea how the inside of an ER works, i’m just winging this whole thing lmao I hope whoever stumbles on this enjoys it :)
Hope you don’t mind the tags: @lilacyennefer @cinewhore @dignityneeded
Thanks to his idiotic brother, Will ends up in the ER. Benny in an attempt to make amends, tries to be his wingman.
Throwing yourself down into your chair, you let out a small cry at the relief at finally being off your feet. To say it's been a long week is an understatement. Your back is in agony, your stomach won't stop growling and there's a throbbing pain behind your eyes . The ER has finally quietened down after a disastrous morning and you're counting down the minutes until it's home time.
'Is it just me or is time moving slower?'
You glance at the clock. Another 20 minutes and you are free for the next two days to do absolutely nothing. Closing your eyes you smile at the thought of the large glass of wine, warm bath and take out that awaits you when you get home. Your happiness is short lived though when you hear your name being called out.
'Urghhh, just leave me alone'
"Birdie, my good friend. How are you? You are looking fiiinnneee today, is that a new pair of scrubs."
Opening your eyes, you glare at your friend Letti who is currently batting her eyes at you. You scoff. You know for a fact you look like shit. Your hair looks like a bird's nest ( no pun intended) and you're pretty sure that your scrubs have seen better days.
"What do you want?" you narrow your eyes at her.
"You know how you're my absolute best friend and you love me so much? Could you find it in that golden heart of yours to stay on just a little longer and cover the end of my shift. It's only a couple extra hours. I wouldn't normally ask but Scott has managed to ship the kids off to his mum's tonight and it's been so long since we've had adult time, if you catch my drift. Please. Help me out here Birdie I am dying" She begs.
'Pfft least you're getting the option for adult time' you think to yourself. You watch as she clasps her hands to her chest and starts to give you the sad puppy dog eyes .You can feel your resolve start to crumble. Groaning, you throw your head back in defeat.
"Fine, but you owe me one and you better believe I will collect" you sigh. Letti fist pumps the air before grabbing your face and giving you a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I fucking love you Birdie. I will name my next child in your honour" she promises.
"Yeah like I haven't heard that before" you snort, wiping your cheek. Letti suddenly thrusts a clipboard into your hand before rushing you through your next patient, eager to get home to her husband. You're not really listening to her, nodding along every so often as you try to decipher the chicken scratches on the paper in front of you.
' Did a child fill in this form?'
You hear snippets of what she is saying: "Hotter than sin..... If I wasn't married... wouldn't be able to walk straight"
You are finally able to pick out the important information:
Exam Room 3 - William Miller, 40, laceration to left arm.
'Ok I can work with that'
Calling out your goodbyes to Letti and telling her to have a good time, you make your way to exam room 3 to get started. Drawing back the curtain, you step into the room and call out
'Mr Miller?'
"Yes?" two voices answer at the same time.
" They are talking about me Dumbass, I'm the one that's currently bleeding no thanks to you. Please excuse my brother, he was dropped on his head a lot as a child" your patient apologises to you. You let out a snort at the quip. It's not until you get a proper look at his face that your laughter is quickly cut off.
'Oh' is all you can think before your mind goes blank. Sitting in front of you is a man you can only describe as an Adonis. Even though his face is twisted slightly in pain, you would gladly stare at him for the rest of eternity. Beautiful blue eyes, soft blond hair, a well groomed beard. Your mind takes you to some bad places when you think about that beard.
'Hotter than sin indeed...."
A choked out laugh causes you to tear gaze away from William and over to the other man in the room who waves at you looking far too amused.
'Oh god, he knows I was checking out his brother' You cringe internally.
"Hi I'm Benny in case you were interested" the other man jokes. He is also a fairly attractive man -you can see some similarities between the two. However, Benny has nothing on his brother. You shyly nod your head in greeting before making your way to Will's bedside.
"Ok Mr Miller, I am Nurse Lark. From what I could make out from your form, it says that you have a laceration on your left arm. Is this correct?" you ask the older Miller.
"Yes that's right. Sorry about the scrawl, Benny didn't make it past the 3rd grade." Will teases.
"Fuck you dickhead" Benny hisses back.
"Boys, settle down, this is an ER not a playground " you interject. Both men mumble their apologise and you try not to laugh. Gently picking up Will's arm, you turn his arm left to right to get an idea of the extent of his injury. He's lucky in the fact it's not too deep. Unfortunately it cuts directly through the tattoo on his lower arm. Potentially a future scar but that was out with your control. Raising your head, you notice how close you are to each other's faces. Will stares back at you and you lose yourself for a minute.
"For fuck sake, get a room" You hear Benny mutter behind you. You cough and busy yourself getting the equipment you need to start patching Will up.
"I'm sorry but this might hurt a little" you warn him in advance.
" Don't worry about me, I'm tough as nails " He smiles reassuring you.
You nod before getting started. So focused on your work, you didn't notice Will admiring you from where he sat. He liked the way your eyes never wavered from your task despite Benny blabbering on in the background. How your nimble fingers made quick work of his wound. He thought the way you stuck your tongue out slightly in concentration was the cutest thing.
Benny was quick to notice his brother's heart eyes and started snickering.
" You know what Will? Maybe if you're a good boy the nice nurse will kiss it better once they are done"
You glance up in time to see Will's face turn scarlet.
'Just when I thought he couldn't get any cuter'
"That's it, Benny get out now!" Will growled.
Benny sighs dramatically and sulks out the room but not without muttering "just trying to help you get laid dickhead". You glance back at Will who is now staring up at the ceiling, looking as though he wants the ground to open up and swallow him whole.
"It's days like these I really wish my parents had got me a puppy instead of a little brother"
"Well from what I've seen of him so far, the man is basically a gold retriever in human form" you joke back. The laugh he lets out catches you off guard.
'I could get used to that sound.'
You had to stop yourself from sighing and scolded yourself for acting like a love sick fool instead of the professional you are.
The conversation came easy for you both after that. You started by telling him your name before the both of you shared little tidbits about each other. Will seemed like an interesting man from what information he gave. He was funny and incredibly smart.
'He's perfect' is all you could think. However, it didn't take long after Benny got asked to leave to finish patching the rest of Will's arm up.
"Well Mr Miller, I guess that's you done. Please make sure to keep the area as clean as possible and have someone help you change your bandages"
You feel sad at the idea of him leaving. It is evident that he feels the same by the way he stalls collecting his things. He looks like he's debating with himself before he finally turns to you looking determined.
" Would you maybe like to go to dinner with me sometime? I know we haven't met under the best circumstances but I had a really great time talking with you. I'd end up hating myself if I didn't at least ask"
Your heart races at the question and you don't hesitate to tell him yes. His face lights up and you find yourself falling a little more for Will Miller. Grabbing a pen from your top pocket, you hastily write down your phone number and hand it to Will. You both wish each other goodnight before parting ways. You find yourself grinning and bite your lip to try and contain your glee.
" Guess I will be naming my first child Letti"
Outside the hospital
Benny leans against the wall (pouting like a child) and waits for his brother . He still can't believe he got thrown out of the room. It feels like forever and a day before Will finally makes his appearance with a smug grin on his face.
'He looks like the cat that got the cream'
' What's with the grin man? Did they give you the good shit for the pain or something?"
Will shakes his head before showing Benny the piece of paper in his hand. A set of digits.
"William, you sly dog" Benny laughs in delight before he slaps Will's arm. He's quick to realise his mistake when his brother grunts in pain clutching his bad arm. Benny panics and makes to touch him but is stopped in his tracks.
"Don't . Fucking . Touch me. Just get in the fucking car. " Will hisses. He marches off to the car park, swearing under his breath.
'Well that victory was short lived' Benny thinks, following his brother.
Bonus Scene - Date night
'Is it just me or is time moving slower?'
You glance at the clock for what feels like the millionth time. Another 10 minutes before Will is suppose to arrive. It's been so long since you were last on a date and you can't remember being this nervous. You look down at your outfit and run a hand over it to make sure there wasn't any creases. Will had text earlier to let you know to dress casual for your evening out but wouldn't give you any more information. The sound of the doorbell interrupts your thoughts and you let out a nervous giggle. Trying not to seem too eager, you give yourself a beat before opening the door. You feel yourself go weak in the knees. Will is dressed to impress - A black leather jacket over a soft grey t-shirt with a nice pair of black jeans that does wonders for him. He lets out a soft laugh at the way you are blatantly eyeing him up before doing the same to you. He lets out a low whistle.
"Well hellooo nurse"

Day 22
Faith, Namjoon x Reader, 8/8 Chapters, 31k words
After trying to squeeze everything for Beneath the Surface, I think I’m going to split this one into two days. So...today we will be squealing about the first four chapters. Buckle up Buttercup, this about to be a whole damn emotional rollercoaster!
I think it was this story that cemented in me just how much I love your writing style. I love going through it with a story, but please give me a happy ending. I get too emotionally involved and invested in these characters and having a sad or open ended final chapter is too much for me! Give me the warm and fuzzy feels in the end! You really like to give us satisfying stories and happy endings. I was once deeply invested in a Harry Potter fanfic and it ended up having a tragic ending and I swear to Bob, it scarred me! We have enough sadness irl, give me the fairytale!!!
So, in this story, our MC falls in love with Namjoon, who is an underground rapper. You see how you ground the story for the fans? This could have really happened, or maybe it did...wait. Thinking about it now, we’ve all heard the theories that Joon is secretly married with kids. GURL, DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING WE DON'T??? Ok, ok, ok, moving on.
“You weren’t going to leave before your brother even got to the stage.
You MIGHT get kicked out before then though, you thought to yourself, glaring as another random hand smacked your ass as they walked past you.”
AGAIN, you always make your female MCs feisty and I am here for it!!! I know these are reader inserts, but I rarely ever see myself in them, if that makes sense? I still form a mental image of these main characters and I love how you are able to flesh them out so well without giving in depth descriptions (which is not ideal for reader insert fics, you know?) And I love that they stand up for themselves, no doormats here!
“You look up to find an incredibly handsome, and very tall, guy looking down at you, dimples on full display. He was dressed in all black. From the black skinny jeans that encased his long legs, to his black snapback on top of his bleached blonde hair.”
LAAAAWWWDD!!! I have a very clear memory of the rap line doing Cypher Part 1. Hobi looking like he was prepping for Mic Drop with his fit, Yoongi was blond, snapback, ripped jeans, bomber jacket, and his Straigh Outta Daegu attitude. And Joon...he had that undercut, kinda silvery blond hair, a simple beige t shirt, and black shorts. THAT’S THE JOONIE I PICTURE IN THIS FIC!!
“And your rap name is?”...
“It’s Rap monster.”
“Huh. Well, it’s not the WORST I’ve heard. Remember Llama guy? His name was MC McGriddle. I finally convinced him that it would be in his best interests to change his name. He finally did. Now he’s Hilbo Haggins. I don’t think he understands the concept of copyrights.” You smiled over at him.”
HILBO HAGGINS!! I am literally in tears. And is that Hobi??? Is it? Cuz if it is I will hereby stop calling him Hobert and refer to him only as Hilbo! Wait no...Hilbo reminds me of Himbo. Who is the biggest Himbo rapper I know, hmmmm…..OFC, MATTHEW! The big tiddy man himself. Ok, new theory. Hilbo is BM from Kard, and no, you cannot convince me it is not Matthew!
The first time between Joon and our girl is so damn hot and tender at the same time. Joonie is, of course, the perfect gentleman, invested in our girl’s pleasure just as much as his. And then…
“I can hear you overthinking.” He chuckles into your hair. He leans back and tilts your chin up, forcing you to meet his eyes.
“So what’s it going to be? Am I staying the night or do you want me to leave?”
You look at him shyly, and bury your face into his chest, mumbling, “Stay…please.”
“Good, because we obviously really like each other, and I wasn’t ready to leave. Give me twenty minutes to rehydrate and we’re going for round two.”
“I’ll never survive!” You squeak out, as he laughs and picks you up, carrying you to the kitchen.
AAHHHH!!!
“You watch the rise and fall of his chest, letting your mind ponder the situation you’ve found yourself in as you drift off to sleep. The only conclusion your exhausted mind can reach is faith. It’s time to let yourself believe in someone. You’re probably an idiot for it, but you’re going to put your faith in this man named Namjoon.”
This is incredibly romantic and scary at the same time. Putting your faith in someone, being vulnerable with someone, is so damn scary! It is a huge leap of faith. I can feel the angst coming!!!
The little snippets of them together in chapter 2 are so damn cute! I am on the verge of tears! When Joon calls himself a dad because she got a puppy, saying he wouldn't let her be a single parent, omg that was so cute!!! UUggh so fluffy.
And then...
WAIT
WAAAAIIITTTT
I just got it. The foreshadowing. Excuse me, I need to go cry in the corner for a bit, be back in three business days. This is like the tenth time I’ve read this story and I was today years old when I realized. It hurts, thanks! *finger guns*
Anyways, more cuteness please!! The peanut butter in the fridge, his apology, Joon befriending her brother, so freaking domestic. I cannot!!! And then, the emotional whiplash:
“You watch him over dinner, excitedly talking about his plans for the future (with a full mouth), and you slowly start to realize…you could never tell him. This was his chance. With his level of talent, you were sure he would be at the top in no time. You were going to have to set him free, so he could achieve his dreams, without worrying about you or what was soon to come.”
NO GURL NO!!! DON’T DO IT! TELL HIM OR I WILL. TELL HIMMMM!!!!
“Namjoon pulls off your shirt and expertly unhooks your bra (Heh)”
We, as a fandom, have decided to erase all memory of that particular song! Because we have deleted all information stored in our collective memory about that song, I do not understand this reference. Thanks! Lmao
AND THEN YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO NAME THE BABY FAITH??? So, my feelings don’t matter to you? My personal well being is not a priority for you? Noted. Not like I can do anything about it. What am I going to do, stop reading your stories? Bwahahaha that ain’t gonna happen. I guess I’m a masochist cuz here comes chapter 3…
Their reunion was freaking amazing. I thought he'd be mad or that his anger would turn into hate, but it seems our boi is even more in love with our MC than he was before. The looks across the room, toying with her fishnets, the flirting, the back and forth, the ride to Jack-in-the-Box. Talk about foreplay!!! And then the culmination inside the Jack-in-the-Box bathroom! Woooooooo! And she still hasn’t told him about the baby?!?!?
“If the two of you had gotten into a fight, Namjoon would drag you there to sit and talk things out.”
This is so spot on, Joonie would!
“Tell me what happened. Tell me why everything changed. Tell me why you didn’t want me anymore.” Namjoon whispers, his voice laced with pain.”
NO, NOPE, NOT TODAY SATAN. I CAN’T. I’M CRYING. I’M CURRENTLY SITTING IN MY CRYING CORNER ABSOLUTELY BAWLING!!
“You lose yourself in the familiar feel of his soft, plump lips moving tenderly against yours. If there was one thing that Kim Namjoon was better at than rapping, it was kissing. He always kissed you like he was worshipping you with his lips and he could happily do it forever.”
I feel this in my bones!!! Joonie would be the type to take his time too! And with those lips! Dayum…
I think I am done for today, my heart can’t take any more!!!
Tomorrow we will finish this story!
Now that I picture Matthew as that rapper, I can’t get it out of my head! Totally canon lmao.

don't blame me for falling, iii
read the first and second part!!
pairing: tom holland x reader
summary: he comes back to town after years and years, and the press are just eating it up and you're falling too hard and too fast
an; how unnecessary long can I make this challenge. also how dumb can I make this challenge lmao why is elon musk in this chapter?? I don't know!!
the news was, at first, too far fetched to be true.
but as the months passed and the seasons changed and frost covered the green, green grass you could no longer look at, the fact that Tom Holland Had Quit Acting sunk with a finality into the world and its people.
when you were young and sweet and when your favourite colour was blue and you were so adamant that you hated pink, you remembered how much tom liked to act, be a dramatic idiot over the tiniest of things. how, if a teacher tried to send him out of the classroom, he'd whine and groan with the essence of a shakespearian actor. how, when summer term rolled around, he auditioned for every any role he could, dancing and prancing around the drama studio in front of you and harrison at lunchtimes. how, when he was fifteen, he had left to go have a shot at a life-changing part, bagging almost everything he could until he hit the big one: spiderman homecoming came out and the entire town rallied about the little boy on the big screen.
in his interviews, the subjects were far and few, all whittling down to one thing; why? his answer made no sense to but a few, "it was a little squiggle I did when I was young."
the tattoo on your ankle, the stick and poke you had done on a slow january evening when you were fourteen, the little squiggle that looked like a three with a somewhat long tail, the tattoo that had stayed infected for weeks and weeks. it burned into your skin, even after it had long faded, even after tom had left you and his hands were nowhere near your knees, even ten years on when you watched the occasional interview, eyes yearning to look at the way he sighed and heaved like his world had fallen to pieces, wishing you could reach out and stroke the pain away with a small smile.
"why?"
"I left too much behind." he once replied.
"do you not like it?"
"I just think that he left a lot behind." you had once replied in an interview you regretted greatly. "perhaps a bit too much, too soon."
london was a huge city.
the tall buildings and the exotic smells and the crowded pathways were unfamiliar to you, and you couldn't leave the apartment without harrison for a good week before you braved it by yourself.
the greys of the buildings built a small, weak wall around your soul and when you shook tom's hand for the first time in half a year, it didn't warm you from your skin to your bones to your soul and it unsettled you in a way you couldn't describe.
london was foreign, and you hated it. you regretted taking the job there and you missed your friends and the familiar roads and the familiar smells and the lack of cameras that were around whenever you were with tom.
it had been a true mistake becoming his assistant, carrying his files and not talking to him like you used to. it was your fault, simply nodding and smiling whenever he made a joke only you would get, brushing him off like you thoughts you should've for so many years.
summer in london was the worst.
tom, ceo of a tech company now, was busiest in the warm weather and you could feel your forehead start to sweat even as you sat in the comfortable air conditioning in his car.
"what happened?" tom's voice was soft and the tentativeness of it made your heart clench.
"pardon?"
"to us."
it was an unfamiliar topic, one the two of you always purposefully swayed from.
"you're my boss now." you answered after a pause.
and then the silence enveloped the two of you again, only being broken by harrison's loud voice when you arrived at his apartment, tonya waddling behind him, all tummy, all beams and smiles.
"baby!" you giggled, sinking into the hug tonya gave you. she had become a close friend, letting you stay and get on your feet upon arriving in london, watching bad tv shows and movies with you late into the night.
your neck was wet to touch, the heat unbearable out in the sun. you fanned yourself with such vigor it offset tonya, who looked at your hand with such a sharpness you felt as though she'd frozen it.
"come in, come in." her voice was like honey, thick and goopy and smooth. she led the group of four into her home and a smile appeared on your face at the appearance of harrison's hands steady a few inches away from his very pregnant wife's back. life had been good for the two of them, the horrors of the world hidden out of view like they'd been kicked underneath the sofa. god had been kind to the two of them, and it showed in the golden glow of their faces when they smiled, and the crows feet already appearing on the twenty four year old harrison, smile upon smile that crinkled his eyes and his entire face, dimples appearing like he was a scrunched up piece of paper. tonya was still tall and leggy and her hair had been coloured by the sun, a beautiful shining gold that matched the darker strips across her nose and cheekbones.
your grey skirt was stiff and tight around your legs and you frowned at tom, who was also fidgeting with his outfit. the suit that had been shrunk by the dry cleaners was stretched painfully across his slumped shoulders and frown lines had begun to appear on his cheeks and chin, as young as he was. life had been rough for him since his abrupt job change, many long nights and many people wondering what this young boy had to say, had to do about the current advancements in the technological world. now, half a year later, his company was off on its feet, taking its first few steps into the harsh world.
"do you want a drink?" tonya offered, hand already holding a cold can of coke. you accepted it gratefully, stiffening as you felt tom place his hand on your back. he was inches away, breath fanning onto your forehead as he read an email, eyebrows furrowed.
a soft hum was music to your ears, despite the grumbly undertone it had. he looked up at tonya, then to harrison stood behind her, "we have to go, im so sorry."
you glared at him, and you would've glared at yourself if you could for the whiney tone you took. "we just got here." you complained, "she could have a baby by the next time we visit!"
tom's frown focused on you and your heart flinched as he snapped, "unless you want to keep your job, which, might I remind you, I gave to you with no prior interview, you're not going to complain."
"oi, mate," harrison's cool voice butted in and he placed a tanned hand on tom's shoulder. it was a familiar action, where he would tighten his hand a little much, clap the shoulder just a tad too hard, his grin stretched and hiding malice in it. it was a trick of harrison's, in the i-just-wanna-vibe bloke kind of way, clap a hand on tom's, or yours, or a drunken stranger's shoulder, stand tall, too tall, and hulk his shoulders and his neck out in a way that always made you laugh. harrison always made you laugh.
tom was quiet, you saying your goodbyes for him - 'we'll be back before this little man pops out, I promise!'- and was fiddly and stiff and loose and a nervous wreck all over in the car, tugging at his collar until it became wrinkled, his eyes a little crazed.
"soo," you dragged out, your warm breath breaking the icy tension in the room, "what we doing today, boss?"
"mr musk is here." tom said, and his voice was shaky and your heart clenched. when you were thirteen, or perhaps fourteen, or maybe even fifteen, (or perhaps forever), you had cared for tom so much that you every one of his mannerisms down to a tee. the tapping of his expensive shoes on the car floor? too much coffee, which you had learnt when tom had discovered it at the blooming age of thirteen, when he had carried it around in this cute pink thermos you and harrison had bought for him. the way his head twitched to the right after a long, hard couple of days was barely there, but you would always know, his shoulders stiffening and his jaw clenching as he tried to stay as resolutely still as possible. you knew him to a tee, you knew how he felt, you knew how he ate, you knew how he loved.
and that was, perhaps, why the wall between you was so thick and hard to crack. you knew how he loved and you knew that he knew the way you loved. you were loving each other at different paces, in different ways, in different dimensions, but in the same unobtainable, scary way that everybody loves.
"elon musk?" you whispered, your voice making tom's fingers thrum with warmth.
he nodded, brown, scared eyes gazing at you. "well, ok." you hurried, heart pounding in your chest so loudly you could almost feel it in your fingers. "that's fine, that's cool. don't you worry, he makes cars."
"and flamethrowers." tom's voice was shaky, and the playfulness dripped off in such a way that you winced.
"well, hopefully he'll lend me one to burn that bloody honker off your face."
"oi!" tom waved a finger at you and you laughed, drifting into a comfortable silence that was bordering on uncomfortable, all at tom's fault of course. his nervousness came off his in huge, tsunami-like waves that soaked you through to the marrows of your bones.
the car came to a slow stop outside the office, parking between two expensive black cars. the sun was scorching as you stepped out, puffing and almost burning your hand on the heat of the chassis.
"bloody hell." tom breathed, tugging on his collar once more. "it's fucking boiling."
you hummed in agreement, laughing at a memory, "remember when-"
"yeah." tom agreed , eyes crinkling at the edges. "almost late for temple, wasn't he?"
you nodded, the memory of your brother frankie falling asleep at his mate's on a warm, stifling summer's day one june floating in the air between the two of you. your mother had shouted at him, so loud the entire neighborhood had heard, and you and your sister esther had hid in the rabbit coop to escape her wrath, the comfortable smell of grass soaking into your clothes.
you had hid there once again, years and years later, when frankie had lost his voice breaks and the ie at the end of his name, and had set off to war in some foreign country. your mother had shouted then, in english and french and yiddish, but your brother had heard none of it, setting off two weeks later.
"is he still,," tom trailed off, hand twitching towards you. you shook your head, lips pursed. he had been killed by a stranger in a foreign land, and the person you nor your mother knew who had gone to collect his body had been killed too.
"right." tom moved a hand to you and you smiled a shaky smile hands reaching up to his neck to find some sense of comfort.
"can't see mr musk all raggedy looking, now." your voice was playful, light, but it shook as you touched his neck.
the stiff collar creased under your fingers with ease, and you slipped it back into place, flush against his sunburnt skin. his tie was in a muddle, and it resembled that of a fourteen year olds so much so that you let out a giggle, sliding it up to his top button. you lingered, eyes looking up into his face.
so, so, close.
he wasn't smiling, no, but his eyes held a warmth that told of bygone days, when your ma would cook the two of you a hot apple pie, when you would wade about in the paddling pool of the only bloody nature park in your town with your shorts wet at the hem, when you would camp out in the frozen aisles of supermarkets before being kicked out, the warm sun a constant on your young backs.
his eyes were pools of honey, the sticky brown of them golden in the sunlight, wrinkled around the edges in the way that spoke of love and fun. the two of you were aging, and the world was moving around you at a steady pace and the two of you were still figuring things out, your hearts guarded but your eyes true.
his face was rough with the beginnings of stubble and the sun drying it out, but you were stood stroking his cheek so what would it matter anyway. the way he leaned into your thumb, fractionally but with so much care made your heart thump and your breath catch. the domesticity of it scared you, and so did his eyes and his nose and his lips and the way he knew you so well and the way you knew him. it was so familiar, being this close to him, like visiting your parents at the holidays with the snow falling and being scared about what they'd think of your hair and your clothes and the accent that had been created anew and the way you laughed like the world was yours.
"I'm sorry." his voice was quiet against the din of london but he was so, so close that it just slipped into your ears like how he slipped and slotted into your life perfectly, filling all the missing gaps. "for leaving. so much."
you took a shuddering breath and slid your hands down to his shoulders, giving them a friendly clap. "can't keep a billionaire waiting, tommo!"
it was harsh, perhaps, but however hard tom was pushing to get to the heart that was sure to be soft putty in his hands, you couldn't dare let him. for your heart was soft and made of putty, malleable and so easily thrown out after use. you didn't want him to leave one day and put it on the kitchen counter like his keys those many, many years ago.
elon musk was a remarkable man,and the way he spoke was so eloquent, in a messy way that reminded you so much of the world.
"your company is that of the stars, mr holland," he had spoke, his hands a blur in the air in front of you. it was rather nice, the motion fanning your boiling skin.
he had left in an even quicker blur, the smell of expensive cologne and pricey suits trailing after him. your body mourned the loss of his hands, but was rather please at the addition of a pair of oh so very familiar hands.
"so?"
"so." you answered. elon had proposed a few things that were all very unclear and far and few, his american voice harsh in your little english head.
"I don't make cars." tom breathed, tugging on his collar with a small smile.
"no we don't." you smiled back at him, the sun shining just a little brighter.

Kim Kai Fluff
@theloveinkimkai 😏😳😈😎 enjoy ❤❤❤
There was something wrong with your eyesight that was your first thought when you saw the blurry blown up stalker pic of the man you were currently dating.
It was so absurd at first you didn't even recognize the place or the person in the picture. We never really get a far away look at our life unless someone deliberately tries to encapsulate moments in the form of photographs and those are taken consensually.
This was not consensual. This was a rude, crude, and an undoubtedly cruel breach of someone's privacy and you couldn't believe people could be capable of such injustice and harm living in what we call civilized society.
The worst part was that you started to think about the girl in the picture next to her celebrity date and after a while it dawned on you who it was and why she looked so damn familiar.
And no matter how hard you tried for the next fifteen minutes to try and erase that information from your brain, you couldn't do it because holy gods in heaven that was you. In the picture. In the midst of a secluded street you were absent mindedly sharing an ice cream with… none other than Kim Kai, the person you were on a date with the previous night.
How could they have gotten these pictures up on that stupid website so fast? When you still have a hangover from all the wine you drank the previous night?
Let's face it, this wasn't your first time on the site. You went there occasionally to keep up with the life of your favorite people and though it frequently bothered you to see these stalker pics, you had to admit that you were guilty of seeing them too quite a few times. Something that you were about to swear off of now because before today it had never quite hit you how terrible it was to distribute those pictures and the accompanying vicious articles. Karma was a rotten bitch.
It was the first time that happened to you and it dawned on you just how inappropriate and screwed up it was to invade people's private lives for a few hits to your site. The people who did it didn't think twice clearly but you were miserable.
You don't even know why you continue to read the post below those pics.
And maybe you're a glutton for punishment because why else would you do that to yourself? Reading the contents of the ridiculous, inciting viewpoint of the author that basically makes you sound like another one of Kai's conquests.
Kai isn't exactly a virgin and that's why you like him. He doesn't have all these pretenses. With Jongin you get what you see and even though last night you were certain you meant something to him now you weren't so sure.
Because suddenly you were being called words that weren't suited for an intelligent conversation. They were calling you a whore and you didn't know what to do. Should you just ignore and pretend nothing was wrong?
Just then you get a phone call from a number you don't recognize. Thinking it might be Kai, he checks in with you frequently even when he's in locations where there's no reception on his phone so naturally you pick it up. “I know you're his current slut,” a woman's voice said. “But he's had way better. What was Kai doing going out with someone like you?”
Before you can even get a word in, the woman speaks again. “My friend used to go out with him you know,” she began. “And she's a popular idol, beyond beautiful, and still got dumped when he was done with her. That's what he does. He doesn't care about you. That innocent idol appearance is all an act. You're not seriously buying it you're not that naive are you?”
The woman continued to speak and say vile things and you don't know why you couldn't just hang up. Because there's a part of you, that insecure, negativity ridden part that says she might be right. “He could go out with anyone in the world and he chooses you? Stop kidding yourself, Y/N.”
Saying your name out loud was the last thing you expected from her but there she was doing exactly that.
“You must be wondering how I know your name,” she said. “I have contacts in the industry. If you go out with someone like Kai expect your personal details to be outed. For your worst mistakes, the ones you've forgotten about, will come out as well. I suggest you take some time to think and then make a decision. There are going to be endless sacrifices for an outsider like you. This community has never been patient.” Saying that she hangs up.
You're left standing in the middle of your living room with no idea what your next move should be. All you want is to talk it out with Jongin but he's in rehearsal and you don't want to disturb him. That's not the kind of person you are. So you decide to spend the rest of your day organizing your kitchen.
But soon you start getting attacked by more phone calls and this time some of them leave you mean texts. And the subject of every single comment is the same: leave our oppa alone. Leave our idol alone. You even get one from a reporter asking you to give a statement and offering you a load of money in exchange for a juicy story.
All this keeps piling up until you feel like there's no more space in your head for any more and you feel a little heavy in your chest and on the verge of throwing your phone out the window. You have somehow managed to stay away from the stalker pic site and at least that's something you tell yourself. You can do this. It won't last forever. But no matter how much you tell yourself you can live through this those texts keep coming and they keep getting angier.
When the doorbell suddenly rings you almost jump. And when you've settled down a bit you answer the door and the sight of the man standing in front of you makes all those emotions you were holding in, burst.
And you're suddenly a crying mess like you've never been before and you feel Jongin’s arms around you tighten and his worried voice is the same soothing and kind as always. “Are you OK, babe?”
And suddenly it dawned on you that you are standing in the foyer.
At least you can finally stop crying now.
Kai closes the door and locks it and you notice the shopping bag in his hand that he places on the breakfast bar. The second his hand is free he comes back to you and hugs you again even harder this time.
In all your confusion and anger his arms give you the strength you need to finally broach the subject with him. But before you can speak he pulls you away gently so he can look at you and gaze right into your eyes. “They said terrible things about you, didn't they?” Jongin says.
You don't want to cry again so instead you try to say something positive. “It's not that bad” why would you even say something like that? When you feel like a mess inside?
Kai looks at you and knows you're lying. “Do you know how many times I've been called ugly on some post or comment? I've been called everything from stupid to untalented. For one art is subjective. Even the art god made in the form of us. You know how they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder? It's a fact. Ugly people see ugly things because it's nothing but their own repulsiveness being reflected. That's why you can't take a person's views about any of these things seriously.”
You try to smile but it's not easy.
“OK, tell me precisely what it is that's bothering you?” Jongin wants to know.
You hate it but you also know that you have to get this off your chest or it will bug you forever. “I'm not the only girl you've dated,” you finally let it out. “It doesn't bother me but I can't help but think maybe what I feel for you is way more than what you feel for me.”
“That's not true, Y/N. Yes, I've had plenty of experiences and that's why I'm able to know the difference between real and temporary. Between lust and love. And what I feel for you isn't just lust. I've known you for months now and every day I feel like I want you even more,” Jongin pauses and kisses you gently. “I love you, Y/N.”
Suddenly you feel flustered. “Why are you saying that? If it's because I'm upset--”
“Do I sound like the kind of person who has to resort to saying that to get what I want?”
Of course not.
You don't know why you even said such a thing. But then you realize just what he's done. Kim Jongin just confessed to you that he loves you. And he's not done, because out of nowhere Jongin’s lips press against yours, gently, and you feel that rush you always feel when he gets that way.
There's no one else in the world who can make you feel that way.
When he finally breaks off he stares at you. “Isn't there something that you'd like to confess?”
You bite your lip.
There's only so many seconds a man like Kim Kai can wait patiently for your response. So his impatience makes you forget about everything that was bothering you and all you can do is grin. “I don't think so,” you say playfully knowing full well it's going to bug him.
“You know what,” Jongin says. “I wasn't going to play the Baskin Robbins card but you're forcing my hand. If I don't get a reply to my artistic confession then I will have all the ice cream and eat all the take-out.”
So that's what the fragrance was. Delicious, delicious, food.
“You can't possibly finish all of that before I steal your dumplings,” you retort.
Suddenly Jongin can't stop laughing.
If he was gorgeous before his laughter basically devastates you in every way. Whatever seriousness you were currently holding on to is gone the second you see him laughing like that. Innocent. Beautiful. All heart. Mine.
“You can steal all the dumplings you want after I get my confession!” Kai groans.
This time it's you who's laughing.
You're still smirking when Jongin grabs you by the shoulders and jokingly pushes you on the bed. When he's on top of you he kisses you again.
“Not fair,” you say without much conviction and he knows he's won.
“Say it,” Jongin says. “Or you'll get to spend the rest of the night right under me and I can't promise what might happen.”
You realize that for once in your life you feel happy. This man makes you feel like you are wanted. He makes you feel everything you craved to feel. Desire. Warmth. Comfort. Loyalty. And now…love.
Which is why what you say next comes so naturally you don't even know how it happened.
“I love you, Kai.”
Why do you feel so emotional right now? You don't want to cry so you try to smile.
Before you know it, Kai kisses you again. “You can have the dumplings but I need the sugar.”
You jokingly try to push him away but you can't stop laughing. “Could you be more corny, Kai?”
“I could be if I tried,” Jongin says. “But I have to warn you. My superior corny might not be something you can handle.”
“Two can play that game,” you say responding to yet another kiss.
Kai goes silent and looks at you. “I meant what I said before. I love you, Y/N. I really really love you.”
You bring him closer. “I love you too, Kai.”

I miss my house.
I'm sitting in it right now (long story about having to be here for something while my kind of ex is at work).
It lacks soul when I'm not here. I wonder how much the kids feel it. It feels empty (there's not a lack of furnishings or anything - it just doesn't feel like there's life in it often). All those little touches I worked so hard on adding to make it feel home-y. The things I pride myself on - having a good eye and looking at cute homewares at the shops.
It smells different.
It's still a beautiful home. Maybe when I left a part of me hoped I might hate it and that would make me able to say goodbye to it and move on. But it still makes me happy. See, my marriage was fucked at the end, but the house itself made me feel comfort and joy and I basically had full rein anyway because he was never here. It probably was the one thing that made me happy. That's probably why I grieved it so much (besides having to grieve the dream of it being our forever home - our intentions when we bought it). I didn't even get to enjoy a full 4 seasons in it before I had to move out.
We have been working on ourselves and we do hope to reconcile. We needed a big circuit breaker. I don't think we've come far enough yet but I do hope we're on our way.
I do want to live here again. And I do still love the house and what it's supposed to represent (the original dream). I do think we'll move in again one day - hopefully not too far away.
I just hope my kind of ex can handle me taking over again. I plan on using my extra income (now that I have to work) to upgrade so many things and to give the house a new lease on life. A symbolic fresh start.
I had a bad dream last night that his parents were trying to offload yet another piece of crap from their house (a TV) and I absolutely did not want it in my home but I knew he wanted it. I didn't want to deal with the stress. I think I'm going to have to talk to him about getting rid of the TV he did get from them when I was moving out. It's outdated and it's not in the spirit of moving forward. Having their old crap in the house is not OK with me and I just don't think I could accept it. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal but it is to me. I don't think I can get past it. If you knew all the history you would understand.
I know I'm getting ahead of myself and I don't have a say yet but we're living in limbo a bit and so we do have to be a bit respectful of each others' boundaries until a permanent decision is made about our future.
There are only a few months left and I know they'll fly by so fast.
I live with my parents and I will never take for granted the freedom of owning my own home again. I might change my mind again one day but I feel like I just want to do my own laundry and hang it out on my own line. I want to clean the house whenever and however I want. I want to relax and use my space however I want whenever I want. I want to cook whatever and whenever I want. I want to feel like a grown up in charge of her own home and life. I want to go into shops and eye off homewares and be excited about them (having to walk past that stuff because it's currently of no use to me is really hard). I want to nest. I want to make special memories of my own with the kids that don't always somehow involve my parents. I want to feel house proud. I want to invite friends over. I want to finish a summer with joy here like I never got to do last summer (the first summer in the house.
