Hello it took a lot of energy but I FINISHED!!! My presentation. Got enough of my website done to give a decent demonstration & just talked about what else I plan to implement. And people had good feedback to give about it!!! It felt like a rewarding time. A Job Well Done. And I wasn't even the only person who didn't have a finished website (it's officially due in a week), so!!! It all works out!!!!
I ALSO got my best graded game today in bowling. A 135!!! We were facing against some real skilled bowlers, but we managed to overcome them 😎😎 with the power of Large Handicap Values 😎😎 lol the benefit of me sucking shit earlier in the semester means my average started lower so my handicap started pretty high. It's slowly been decreasing as I increase my average, but not enough to severely impact my scores!! We have One more in-class game, I think... the last game of the tournament... my team is actually in the running for 2nd or 3rd place!! Maybe!!!! So we'll see how Wednesday goes. Gonna be sad to say goodbye to bowling class, but I'll find times to bowl in the future... gonna have to take advantage of discount bowling times and whatever to keep my game up... I like being good at bowling and wanna keep getting Better at bowling... even if I sadly can't bowl unlimited games anymore after this week (I think?).
Last week of classes!!!!! This week!!!!!! Is the last week of classes!!!!!!!!! I'm so close to done with school!!!!!!!! Holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!
#speculation nation#happy and bittersweet at the same time. mostly for saying bye to bowling and orchestra#but!!! i can do these things in the future in other ways. i do not have to give up my hobbies.#love will find a way. and by that i mean. my love for the hobby ❤️❤️#anyways i desperately need to take a nap. good god. i got like 1 hour of sleep. ENTIRELY my fault.#i was stupid with time management last night lmfao. but ykno what i pulled thru#i really wasnt expecting to do so good at bowling bc of how unsteady i was. but i was also taking care to line things up well#like the 'ok i cant depend on instinct here... just gotta be careful... dont rush it... do it Right...'#and it worked??? i was finally hitting spares again today. i was doing good on strikes but not spares in recent games#but today i did decent on spares too. yay!!#so i feel accomplished. i am On Track to finishing this semester up with a neat little bow#and GRADUATINGGGG!!!!!!! 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣👌👌🗣🗣#so exciting. so exciting!!!!! many things to look forward to. omfg.

So uhm, for space problems I had to delete Sky but I'm still in the fandom and I still love it ;-; hopefully one day I'll be able to find a better device and to play again in the shape of a newbie. Hopefully no veteran will "hate" me for being new like old people do with young people (like "Back to our days we players didn't have a home").
#sky cotl#sky children of the light#sky: children of the light#sky: cotl#that sky game#y'all I'm joking I actually love the way veterans hate/love moths#so please when I'll be a newbie someone of you can come to me I won't rebel#❤️I love sky and I hope to begin playing again one day#but the space was not much in my phone and the sd card I tried didn't let me move apps#also the game kept crashing a lot and I couldn't even stay online for ten minutes#so it was basically the death of my sky acc#but I promise I'll be back#in case if anyone finds a message or a shared memory with my OC Judylia that says bye to the game it's me lol#ok I must go now#but ONE DAY Judy will return#oh honk I almost forgot to tag the queen for the gif-#aurora aksnes#aurora#aurora aksnes gif

Danny X Cass part 1
The tension is high in the Watchtower currently. It is bad enough that the JL get news that Darkseid plans to invade Earth a few weeks ago when suddenly the Teen Titans contacted the JL that Trigon might actually invade Earth soon too.
Currently all the heroes are discussing possible scenarios and plans to counter the attack when suddenly a shadow moves behind Batman and pocks his sides.
Batman turns and sees his daughter, Cassandra, looking at him. She starts making hand signs and confused Batman momentarily.
'Call Friend. Might help.'
"Who's your friend? Is there anyone else that can help that isn't here?"
To that question, Cass stalls for a moment. She seems fidgety like she is nervous about something.
'Old friend. Also hero.'
Batman thinks for a moment and decides to give in. He might have a way to fend of the invasion of Darkseid and Trigon at the same time but not without heavy casualties. That plan is only for the worst case scenario.
Giving a nod to her daughter, Cass immediately beamed and goes to a far corner of the meeting room. Batman looks at her daughter that looks almost giddy for once. He doesn't know who she is calling but if she trust the other person, then he is also willing to try to trust whoever she is calling.
Cass sits in a corner where there is no one else near her and pulls out an old cell phone. A green light shines from the phone as Cass turns it on and a text is received just as she about to message the person.
Danny ❤️🥰
Danny: Hey Cass, would you be free for a date? I wanna show you something cool I just get.
Cass: Can't go. Trigon and Darkseid are invading Earth. Very busy. Dad is stressed. Can you help?
Danny: Sure. I can go beat up Trigon and I'm sure Dan would gladly go and beat up Darkseid. He's been complaining about not being able to have a good fight since I have become too powerful for him. 😎😎
Cass: Come in Phantom. Introduce you to everyone.
Danny: Ok now you are making me nervous. Should I bring your dad gifts? Should I wear a formal wear or casual wear? Oh no! What if your dad doesn't like me? 😱😰😨
Cass: Don't worry. Dad will like you. Dad is paranoid. But he loves me.
Danny: Maybe I should gifts him an ecto-weapon? I heard he likes to make contingency plans. Surely he would like me more if I give him stuff to fund his hobby.
Cass: Hobby?
Danny: Y'know. Making contingency plan. I think that is his hobby. Like I understand if he has 1 or 2 contingency plans for each heroes but doesn't he have like 50 for each heroes?
Cass: 😂💕. No bringing ecto-weapon. Might hurts you.
Danny: It's fine. I will give it to him if he asks. Anyway, where should I meet you?
Cass: Watchtower.
Danny:Alright. See you in a minute. Bye 👋👋
Cass: 👋👋
Cass puts down her phone and is startled when a purple hoodie peeks from above her shoulders.
"Ooooo, is that your boyfriend? No wonder you are so protective of that phone. How dare you not tell me you have a boyfriend? Does our friendship means nothing to you?"
The figure clad in purple says dramatically. Cass push her away and stares at her angrily. Even though she is in full costume the purple still knows when she is mad.
"Steph. Bad peeking."
"Sorry, Sorry. I can't help it seeing you so secretive like that. I promise I will not do it again."
Lies. Both of them knows Steph is lying.
"Anyway, who is that? You know you shouldn't tell our situation to outsiders right? B might be mad if he knows."
"B says ok."
"Oh what? I never get permission to tell people stuff. This is blatant favoritism."
Cass looks at her smugly. Of course she knows she is the favorite. That's why she knows Batman will approve of Danny no matter what.
A commotion rises suddenly from the center of the room and Cass and Steph turn towards it ready for battle. They can see the members of JLD panicking about something when suddenly a green portal opens right in the middle of the room.
From the portal, a tall figure steps out with powerful presence emitting from him. His silver white hair falls down to his neck and his black and white hazmat suit gives of the feeling of awe whenever someone looks at him.
All the heroes in the room get into a fighting stance except a select few.
"Hello everyone. I am Phantom and I am here to help."
The figure's voice is not loud but everyone can hear it like it is spoken right besides them.
Before anyone could say anything a figure bypasses everyone and sprints towards Phantom. Unfazed, Phantom spreads his arm and the figure flies into his arm. Phantom gives the figure a hug and she replies with a tighter hug.
"I miss you." Cass says silently.
"I miss you too." Danny whispers and sends the voice to her only.
While everyone is still confused and stunned on what is going on, Constantine curses and brings everyone's attention back.
"Fucking hell. Whatcha doing here kid? I never call you did I."
The figure looks up and stares at Constantine. Everyone starts to become nervous and thought the figure is going to attack them when he just smirks.
"Of course it is not you. You only call me if you need my help to deal with your ex or something. You should really stop dating all these interdimensional demons y'know. There are only so many times I can save you."
Phantom's rebuttal gets a few snickers and gasps from the crowd.
"Fuck you, kid. What are you even doing here? And why are you holding one of the bats?"
"Do you hit your head somewhere in hell, Constantine? What does this looks like? I'm going to eat her?"
That comment makes a few figures in the crowd tense for a moment before Constantine next word baffles them more.
"No fucking way. You're dating one of the bats. Fucking hell. I don't want to be part of this shit anymore. Y'all can go fuck yourself."
Constantine then picks up his flask and opens a portal to return to House of Mystery. Just as he's about to step into the portal, Superman speaks up.
"Wait, Constantine. We still need your help in dealing with Trigon and Darkseid."
John stops in his tracks and looks at Danny. He chugs down all the remaining alcohol in his flask before replying.
"If that kid can't handle this problem, then we might as well just lay down and wait for our demise."
He then steps into the portal and disappears. Everyone looks at Danny that is still holding Cass in a hug and the awkwardness can be felt in the air.
Danny releases Cass that releases a whimper that is picked up by a few figures primarily the big bat.
"So, hello. I am Phantom and as I say, I am here to help."

Life is Good
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x female reader
Word Count: 999
Summary: Bucky loves to take care of you even if it means he has to get out of the the warm and cozy bed but he'll be keeping it warm for when you get home.
Author's Note: My sweet friend @sgt-seabass shared this absolutely lovely and adorable tik tok with me and just made me think of this softness with Bucky and Alpine. Thank you love! And thank you all so much for reading! Much love always! ❤️❤️❤️Divider by the lovely @firefly-graphics thank you Daisy!🥰
Warnings: soft sweet fluff and warm and fuzzy 😁

“You don’t have to bring me to work Buck. Stay in bed!”
Alpine meows in agreement and stretches himself out in the warm spot Bucky just vacated.
“Nah doll face. I’ll take you. I don’t want you going out in this alone.”
You stare at him as he sits sleepily on the edge of the bed and yawns, the backdrop of the neighboring buildings obscured by the flakes of snow fluttering wildly outside but doing little to distract from his perfection.
“Bucky.”
“Doll.”
He gives you a lopsided smile and crooks his finger at you before patting his thigh.
You walk between his legs and sit, curling against his bare chest, still warm from sleep.
“Just need a hug before we go.”
You hum happily into his skin with a soft inhale.
“I should call out…”
“You should.”
“But I have to get this project done.”
“I know baby doll.”
“Alpine?” you ask and peek over Bucky’s shoulder at the white fluff sprawled out on the bed.
The cat doesn’t even lift his head up.
“We all know his answer,” Bucky chuckles. “He’d stay in bed all day.”
You place a soft kiss to Bucky’s neck and nuzzle closer.
“Honestly. Hugs were the best and worst idea. I do not want to get up,” he says. “Ever again.”
“Yeah, I know. Now I’m extra comfy and in my happy place.”
You feel the satisfied rumble that moves through his chest before he presses his thumb under your chin and tilts your face up to capture your lips in a toe-curling kiss.
“Bucky,” you murmur against his mouth.
“Uh huh, I know,” he sighs, kissing you again before he gently sets you down on the bed.
“Gimme five to wash up and change and we’ll go.”
Once Bucky is dressed he appears in the living room and looks you over.
“Do you have everything you need?” he asks.
“Yup!”
He crowds your space and pulls your hat down over your ears before tightening your scarf.
“Lunch?”
“Yes Bucky,” you answer sweetly and pat your bag.
“Snacks?”
He then pulls your gloves from your jacket pockets and motions for your hands.
“Of course,” you reply.
When he has your gloves secured he gives you one more check and nods approvingly.
“Ok, let’s go.”
He gets himself dressed, of course with fewer accessories than you, and holds the door open while reaching out for your hand.
“Bye Alpine,” you yell.
Bucky walks you to the train station, takes the train with you and then walks you to your building before kissing you until you’re overheating. He watches you get inside and waves through the large glass panes until you disappear into the elevator.

The day flies by thanks to all that you have to do but you’re productive and manage to finish early. With excited steps you walk toward the elevator, contemplating calling Bucky to let him know you’re leaving. He insisted on coming back to get you and take you home but you want to surprise him and decide you can make it home just fine on your own.
Your trip back is uneventful and when you reach the door to your apartment you can already smell the familiar aroma of your favorite comfort meal. With a smile you unlock the door and walk inside, softly calling Bucky’s name.
When he doesn’t answer you toe off your shoes and whip off all your warm weather garments then walk to the crock pot on the counter and lift the lid, inhaling with contentment.
The bedroom door is wide open and as you get closer you can see Bucky’s bare foot dangling off the edge of the bed. You inch closer with quiet steps and find him laid out on top of the comforter in nothing but his black boxers.
The curtains that normally cover the large window next to the bed are pushed haphazardly aside, allowing the soft brightness of the snow to bathe the room in a white glow. Everything you can see outside is lined with a neat new edge of dazzling crystals.
As pretty as it all is your eyes quickly move back to the bed and Bucky.
His metal hand is curled around your pillow and his face is smushed into it. Alpine is laying in the small space between Bucky’s bent leg and his arm with all four legs straight out and his furry belly gently rising and falling with his even breathing.
You stare for a few moments before taking your phone out and snapping a photo.
“New lock screen?” Bucky mumbles as he slowly shifts and opens his eyes.
“Definitely,” you giggle.
“How come you didn’t call me doll?”
His voice is stern even though his face is half hidden in your pillow.
“I was done early and wanted to surprise you…surprise!”
He grumbles something about ‘next time you better call because blah blah’ and trails off.
“Get over here doll.”
“That’s my pillow,” you tease.
“Smells so good,” he murmurs with one last nuzzle before holding out his arms and making grabby hands.
You curl into him and after several kisses you ask, “did you fall asleep reading again?”
“Yeah,” he whispers. “I got the food in the crock pot, had a snack or two then decided to read while I waited for you to call and well…”
“Thank you for cooking. It smells so good.”
“Of course baby doll. It’ll be ready soon.”
“Mm. I don’t want to get up yet.”
“Me either.”
“Meow.”
Alpine stretches and presses himself closer into Bucky while lightly kneading the comforter.
“Hi furball,” you giggle. “Did you help daddy cook?”
Bucky scoffs playfully and tugs you closer into his embrace.
“He’s been in the same spot since you left!”
“He’s living the life!” you muse.
Bucky slides his face closer to yours and holds your gaze while he delicately traces a finger along the curve of your jaw.
“It’s the best life,” he murmurs against your lips.

Ok love you bye

synopsis: phone call w billie. you two get into a tiff but it’s all resolved easily and lovingly.
warnings: fluff, kinda angst, mild argument, phone call, rejection implied (?), happy resolution
a/n: hi guys, i miss you. i highly doubt anyone gives a shit or even noticed but i’ve been gone for a few days. i’ve had a busy week so couldn’t write for a lil. anyway, enjoy! love ya. reader is being hella unreasonable imo lol. not proofread!
Billie: bold
y/n: italics
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“hi, baby”
“hi, my love. where you at?”
“i’m still out with the gang. sorry baby, i don’t think we’ll be back ’til late.”
“bil…” you whine, “you said you wouldn’t be long.”
“i know, i know baby. i’ll be home before you know it” billie tries to soothe you.
“fine.” you huff like a toddler.
“dont be mad at me, lovey... please”
“i’m not mad, just missing you” you let her know, you dont want her to think you are trying to control her. “but i will be binging [your favorite show] without you” you say.
“what?! no, you cant do that! that’s not fair!”
“too bad” you laugh.
“but you promised we’d only watch it together” billie tries to reason with you.
“well… you promised we would watch it tonight, so if you can’t keep your promises then i won’t either… AND we left it on a cliffhanger - i need to know!”
“you’re not being fair, y/n” billie’s tone lowers, you realize she’s starting to actually get a little mad over it. this makes you mad, too, because billie broke her promise first.
“too bad, i guess” you state flatly, crossing your arms even though billie can’t see you. you know it’s silly that the two of you are arguing over this - the only time you two argue is when one is missing the other - but you can’t fight feeling petty. you’re determined now to watch it without her just to piss her off.
you continue, “ok, gotta go, bil - i’ve got a show to watch” you kiss your teeth.
“why are you being like this?” billie questions your actions, pleading in her tone.
“like what, exactly?” you ask with a sharpness.
“… petty… kinda selfish” billie says. she’s treading carefully now, she knows that the both of you are just as mad as each other and she doesn’t want it to escalate anymore.
an agonizingly long silence sits between you two - her words making your heart drop a little bit - until you hear someone call billie’s name in the background. she shouts back a simple “one minute!”
you huff, “sounds like you’re wanted elsewhere, billie. don’t be loud when you come in, i plan on being asleep by the time you get back” you say already pulling the phone from your ear ready to end the call. your voice is more than a little venomous now.
through the speaker you hear billie’s faint voice say “okay, y/n, bye. i love y-.” you end the call, cutting her off partly on purpose, partly by accident.
you audibly wince at your actions as soon as you did it. surely billie is seething now. not only did you not say ‘i love you’ back, but you also cut her off while she was trying to share a loving moment amidst a heated one.
as predicted, your phone lights up in your hand not even a moment later - “bil ❤️” flashing across your screen. you just stare at it, chanting “shit, shit, shit” under your breath. the call runs dry and her photo dissapears from your screen. you go to your shared messages and begin to type “didnt mean to cut you off”, but before you can send the message billie calls again. you pick up this time.
“what the fuck was that?” billie’s tone is fiery, you can hear her breathing through the phone.
“i- i didnt mean to cut you off” you try to explain; hesitant because you know that’s not completely true.
“bullshit, y/n” billie can read you like a book. “you’re not gonna tell me you love me?… that’s fucked” she continues.
“of course i do” you say, your voice is squeaky now, your earlier confidence completely gone.
“you aren’t even actually saying it now!” billie slightly raises her voice at you but quickly catches herself before she fully does. your breath hitches at that, suddenly intimidated by her. all you can do is sit in silence, scared you’ll say the wrong thing.
billie hears your heavy breath over the line, but to her you are just sighing. “ugh, whatever” billie says, ending the call.
you groan out of frustration, mad at yourself for being so petty in the first place. your internal anger boils over and you throw your phone to the other end of the couch - fed up by the trouble-causing device. you fall to the side and curl into the corner of the couch you’ve been sat on. grabbing the remote, you turn on the tv and put on glee, your comfort show. you decided against watching you and billie’s shared show - going against your earlier conviction.
you turn all of your attention to the people inside the big screen, trying to distract yourself of the guilt panging in your chest. unsure of when exactly, your eyes begin to flutter closed and you drift into sleep.
- half an hour later -
someone screaming on the tv jolts you awake from your nap, your eyes shoot open and you sit up. you click on the ‘ok’ on the remote, seeing that you’re now on the next episode of glee. working out that you’ve probably been asleep for half an hour, you reach over and grab your phone checking you haven’t missed contact from anyone.
much to your dissapointment, there are no new notifications. billie hasn’t reached out to you again. “fuckkKKK!” you exclaim, your head falling back against the couch. you click on billie’s contact, deciding you’ll have to settle this argument up now.
the line rings and rings and when you’re just about to give up a quiet voice answers the phone.
“hello?”
“baby, i’m sorry. i just miss you and it got the better of me. i love you, you know i do” you explain.
“i know you do, but it’s nice to hear you say it” billie laughs sarcastically.
“i’m sorry. i was being petty and i regret it. i love youuu” you sing the ‘u’.
billie giggles at that, her guard coming down a little bit.
“pull that shit again, i dare you” she retorts, kidding (not really) with you.
“yes, ma’am. never again” you tell her in a mock military voice as you nod your head.
“will you wait up for me?” billie asks you. you smile at her question, you know this is her way of checking that you two are good now.
“of course, baby.”
“good,” you hear billie smile, “i’m looking forward to it.”
“ok, ok, now go have fun with your friends” you command her with a giggle.
“i can’t ever have any fun when we’re fighting. i love you” billie whispers the last part.
“i love you more” you whisper back, a smile evident in your voice.
“impossible. there’s no way” she flirts with you.
“stop stalling! go!” you chuckle.
“ok, love you, bye” billie says satisfied.
“love you, bye” you pull the phone from your ear, ending the call with a smile from ear to ear.
Ok hear me out, what if Sol managed to fight MC off in the bad end and as a result save them from getting stabbed by Hyugo. What would Sol do in this situation? Does he kidnap Mc now? Does Hyugo insist on killing them and cause an argument between him and Sol? (Sol probably wins). Could you write a scenario of what you think would unfold in this case?
|| OMFG. FIRST ASK FOR TKATB. IS THIS REAL???// Also, I love you, pls don’t turn into a LG 27 cu. ft. Side by Side Smart Refrigerator w/ Craft Ice, External Ice and Water Dispenser in PrintProof Stainless Steel.||
Topic/scenario: What would Sol do and how will he react if MC survived?
“Would he kidnap?”
“Would he argue with Hyugo?”
“Would he kill Hyugo too?”
What happens?
You’ll see.
Sol (Solivan) Brugmansia
What would he do?
● Sol would absolutely be relieved that you're okay and still alive, but he would also be enraged at Hyugo's attempt to take you from him.
● Since he saw and realized what Hyugo was trying to do in this scenario, he would flip you both around and stop him from trying to kill you. He is absolutely fuming right now (just itching to slam his head into the walls and ground for even thinking about attempting to kill you.)
● Since you lived, he would do everything and anything he can to have you. To keep you exactly where you belong. With him. Only him. Always him.
● He is seriously resisting and fighting the urge to slam Hyugo's brains into the walls and ground of the wooden shed. To rip him apart for even thinking about trying taking you from him. (Just like Crowe.)
● If you managed to escape, (you never will), he will go after you again. Taking you back home and never letting you leave. You're his, and it's time you realize it. 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐌.
● He will absolutely do everything to remove everyone in his way to have you to himself again. Killing, kidnapping, blackmailing, beating up your bullies, anything. He will have you.
Right, Wrong Number ~ Joaquín Torres
synopsis: just a few numbers off and suddenly you have a new crush
tw: fem!reader, idiots to lovers, creepy men at gas stations, cursing, barely edited.
fic, ficlet, drabble, request
Have this while I keep going to reach my goal of 34 pages. This has just been rotting in my drafts because I didn't know how to end it.
➽──────────────❥
You were home alone when your phone went off, a simple Hey, it's me from the bar. You were tempted to leave it alone, you didn't know the number anyway. You're curiosity and boredom got the better of you.
you: Hi? You might have the wrong number unknown: Shit, I do Sorry you: Wait, no. I'm bored, come back
You sat staring at the screen for a few minutes, you watched the text bubbles pop up before disappearing for a few moments. After a while you gave up and looked back at the tv, you just ruined your chance of entertainment.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
Joaquín looked over the number on his phone, pulling his laptop out he looked up the number. By the time he realized there wasn't a threat, he was called into a mission.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
It's been days, you were with friends when the unknown number texted you again. You excused yourself to the restroom to answer it, not really caring for the conversation of babies they were having.
unknown: Sorry for just disappearing, I had something come up you: Oh, it's fine Everything ok? unknown: Yeah, just work you: Can I ask who you were trying to text the first time? unknown: A girl I met at a bar you: Well, her loss my gain
You looked away from your phone as the door of the bathroom opened. You relaxed when you realized it wasn't one of your friends.
unknown: Yeah, I guess so You still there? you: Yeah, sorry. I'm hiding in the bathroom from my friends and thought that one of them had just walked in. unknown: Why are you hiding from them? you: They're talking about babies and I'm the only one still single so it's not so fun for me. Oh, shit, I gotta go. Bye unknown: Bye
You rushed out of the bathroom as your friends texted you that they were leaving.
"What took you so long?" One of your friends, Clare, questioned you.
"I think I had something that doesn't agree with me," you lied, grabbing your things from another one of them, Kelly.
"Well, I'll see y'all later, you ready y/n?" Kelly addressed the group and then you. You nodded and started walking down the street with her, your arms looped together. "Do you remember my friend from Delacroix? Sarah?""
"Yeah, the one with the kids?" You meant it genuinely but cringed when you heard the implication. "I didn't mean it like that?"
"No, I understood what you meant. And yeah, her. She's having this get together in a few weeks and I registered a plus one but since Walter is staying with the kids, I need one." She trailed off and you smiled, knowing the implications.
"Who are you thinking about bringing?" You asked, trying to make a joke.
"I was thinking about this girl, we've been friends since high school, she's got this amazing hair, oh and she always smells nice," Kelly looked over at you and you laughed.
"She sounds amazing, you should let me meet her. But in all seriousness, I'd love to go," you told her as you rounded the corner of the street your apartment was on.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You were fresh out of the shower when your phone rang, you didn't even look at it before answering it. You assumed it was Kelly calling you with the information about the get together thing, it had been a few days after all.
"Hello?" You questioned.
"Oh, hi. I didn't think you would answer," a man's voice startled you and you looked at your phone. The contact said Unknown Bestie ❤️ and you smiled into your phone.
"I'm going to be honest, I didn't even look at my phone before I answered," you shuffled around as you got ready for bed.
"Well, I was going to ask if you had anything going on 2 weeks from now," he asked and you remembered Kelly's thing.
"I do, actually, why?"
"I was gonna ask something but never mind," he laughed and you laughed with him, god did he sound hot.
"Do I get to know your name or am I supposed to call you Unknown?"
"Quin," he told you after a moment's hesitation.
"Y/n," you offered your name as you got into bed, pulling your phone away from your ear ling enough to change it to speaker.
"Y/n," you liked the way your name rolled off his tongue. "You've got a nice name," he told you.
"So do you," you mumbled, stifling a yawn.
"Are you tired, Angel?" Quin asked you and blushed gently.
"A little, had a long day," you told him.
"Then good night, y/n," he told you.
"Good night, Quin," you said as you hung up. You got comfy before going to sleep, the exhaustion from the day finally surrounding you.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You stood awkwardly on the street, Kelly would be picking you up soon. You were driving down to Delacroix since Kelly had troubles with flying. Kelly pulled up in a car, you knew you were going to be driving with two other people. You just didn't know those two people would be Sam Wilson and Joaquín Torres.
"Hi, sorry for being late," Kelly jumped out the running car and took the bag from your hand before shoving it in the trunk.
"It's ok, it's a nice day," you told her, taking the empty front seat. You turned around and held out your hand as best as you could. "Y/n, nice to meet you," you shook both of their hands. You saw something flash across Joaquín's face but thought nothing of it. Your turned back around as Kelly pulled away from the curb, you watched as Kelly changed the music.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
It was later in the ride when your phone buzzed in your pocket, you pulled it out and saw it was Quin.
Quin❤️: Hey, just wanted to let you know that I'm headed out of town. We probably won't be able to talk until I'm back you: Oh, no, that's ok I'm headed out of town too Quin❤️: Nice, I'll talk to you later? you: Yeah, bye! Quin❤️: Bye
You shoved your phone back into your pocket and hummed along with the music.
"Who were you texting?" Kelly glanced at you and you looked at her with narrowed eyes.
"Why do you wanna know?" You questioned, knowing you only said that when you were texting one of your family members.
"Why are you being so secretive?" She took the bait hook, line, and sinker. "So which family member?"
"Antonio," you lied, her face lit up at your words.
"Was he-" you cut her off with a laugh.
"No, he was not asking about you," you laughed, watching her deflate a little. "You've got to get over your crush on my brother, god. He's older than you," you leveled her with a look, daring her to say it.
"Older men are-"
"Kelly!" You cut her off again, laughing even harder. You could hear the boys in the back chuckling.
Joaquín smiled extra wide, now he knows that you and the y/n he had been talking to are in fact the same person.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
The rest of the ride until you hit midway went smoothly. Everyone had driven at this point, you were now in the back with Joaquín. Sam was driving and Kelly had fallen asleep, you were holding on by a thread. You were mindlessly scrolling on TikTok, occasionally silently laughing and fighting the urge to nudge Joaquín and show him. You two had been showing each other funny and interesting TikToks until he had fallen asleep. You shoved your phone on a charger and passed Sam the last can of soda before curling up and going to sleep.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
"Y/n, babes, get up," Kelly's voice broke you from your sleep.
"Huh?" You pulled your headphones out and sat up fully.
"We stopped for gas but it's been hours, bathroom time," Kelly told you and you nodded at her. You unbuckled and followed her inside, you waved at Sam who was filling up the tank.
You walked out of the bathroom and wandered the store for a moment, trying to see if there was a snack you wanted.
"What's a pretty thing like you doing all alone?" A random man tried to press himself to you but was stopped by an arm. Joaquín put himself between you and the guy and you relaxed. "Shit, sorry man, didn't realize she was taken," the guy scurried away and you shook your head.
"Thanks," you mumbled, you took a look down at his hands and lit up. "They have the purple Doritos?"
"Yeah, here, I'll take you to them," Joaquín took your hand gently and you smiled, letting him lead you to the Doritos. You grabbed 2 bags and bounded to the check out to wait in line. Joaquín was right behind you and when it was your turn, he placed his things down and paid.
"You didn't have to pay for mine," you murmured.
"I wanted to," Joaquín told you and your face warmed.
"Joaquín, man, would you drive?" Sam questioned and Joaquín nodded.
"Babes, will you let me sleep in the back?" Kelly asked.
"Yeah, just hand me my shit when we get inside," you told her and opened the passenger door.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You finally made it to Delacroix late the next day, you, and everyone else, stretched as you got out. The three of you were staying in a hotel, Sam decided since there wasn't enough space for all of you he would stay in the hotel too.
Kelly was checking you two in, since you were sharing a room, as you looked around the space. It was a smaller hotel and you could see the inside pool, you were already thinking about how nice it would feel to float in it. Your eyes moved to Joaquín as he wandered around a little, you hadn't had time to notice how attractive he actually is. His cut off sleeve tank top made your brain fuzzy and the way his singular curl feel made you want to go feral.
"Why does Kelly call you babes?" Joaquín asked as he walked with you, both of you slightly behind Sam and Kelly.
"In high school we were in this play together, we played lovers and her character always called mine babes. It just kinda stuck and now it's almost like an inside joke," you explained as you watched as Kelly and Sam went to the stairs. "Uh, why are we taking the stairs?"
"Because exercise is good for you," Kelly told you.
"What floor?" You asked.
"4th," she told you, and you sighed.
"I'm taking the elevator," you spun and went to the elevator.
"Room 412!" She called after you and you gave her a thumbs up.
"Hold on, I'm coming with you!" Joaquín called after you and you paused for him to catch up.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You made it into bed after your shower when Quin texted you again.
Quin❤️: Just wanted to check on you you: I just got to my hotel room, had fun in the car Quin❤️: Yeah? Wanna tell me about it? you: My friends and I drove down and when my best friend was driving we would sing along to her music. Oh and my newer friend bought me my favorite doritos! Quin❤️: Sounds like you had a lot of fun you: I really did Quin❤️: I gotta go, I'll talk to you when I can you: Bye, Quin! Quin❤️: Bye, y/n
You watched the conjoined doors crack open from your spot on your bed. Both Joaquín and Sam walked through when they saw you and Kelly in your beds.
"Can we join y'all? Our TV isn't turning on," Sam questioned and you shrugged while Kelly nodded. You and Kelly didn't move from your beds but Sam and Joaquín both ended up in your bed with you. You didn't mind, your bed was the closest and Kelly looked half asleep.
The TV droned on in the back as you mindlessly scrolled on TikTok again, the sheer amount of edits of the two men next to you made you swipe faster than was normal. You still took the time to like them so you can watch them later, you looked up to the TV when you heard a blast. You noticed it was 911 Lone Star, you smiled watching the TV.
"I love this show," you told them. "Mateo is my favorite," you told them before looking back down at your phone.
"Mateo? The nerd?" Sam questioned and you looked over at him.
"Yes, Mateo. Fuck off," you told him as you noticed him laughing.
"Really Mateo?"
"Need I remind you who's bed you're currently lounging in?" You raised your eyebrow at him and laughed along with Joaquín.
"Ok, ok," Sam relented and you three relaxed back into the silence. You shut off your phone to watch the rest of the episode with them, Joaquín plugging it in for you.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You woke up the next morning alone, which was jarring considering you had fallen asleep during a movie between Sam and Joaquín. You shook off the weird feeling you had and made your way to the bathroom, you all had shown up a few days before. You had plans of doing nothing for the time being except float in the pool and go shopping. You brushed your teeth and changed before going to make sure Kelly was awake.
"Kelly, wake up," you gently pushed her hair back as she tried to fight you.
"Ugh, no," she pushed you away.
"Ugh, yes," you mocked her and she glared at you. "If you can glare, you can get up, let's go before we miss breakfast," you told her. She grumbled but got up. You waited on your bed and watched as the conjoined door opened slowly again. "I'm dressed and Kelly is getting ready in the bathroom, it's safe," you called out and you watched as the door swung open faster.
"Good morning," Joaquín flopped down on your bed and you looked at him. Sam leaned against the wall by the conjoining door.
"You're getting real comfortable with me real fast," you said, jokingly.
"You're easy to get comfortable around," Joaquín told you earnestly.
"I'm ready, let's go," Kelly bounced out of the bathroom and you grabbed the room keys and left with them all. The 4 of you made your way down stairs, you forcing them to take the elevator.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
You realized it late, there was something about Joaquín's voice was familiar. You couldn't find out way, but you couldn't find a way to care.
"Y/n," Joaquín's voice made you jump, you had been done with your breakfast and waiting on the others.
"Yeah?" You looked over at him.
"Do you want anything while I'm up?" Joaquín gave you one of his award winning smiles.
"Oh no, I'm good. Thank you for asking," you smiled back at him as he walked away. You heard laughing and whipped your head over to Kelly and Sam. "What?"
"He likes you," Kelly giggled but you shook your head.
"No he doesn't," you argued.
"He only asked you if you wanted anything," Kelly pointed out.
"Well, you two aren't done," you defended and they both just nodded as if they weren't impressed.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
Sarah's get together was today, you were dressed and in the car headed there. Sam had called driving and Kelly wanted the passenger seat, so you were in the back with Joaquín. You two had taken up the habit of showing the other a TikTok every now and again. You found a mild edit of Sam to show him, making you both laugh.
The party was in full swing, it had been hours and your feet hurt. You found yourself wondering if Quin was ok. You're answer showed in a text message.
Quin❤️: What do you look like? you: Uh, why? Quin❤️: Because I think I see you *insert photo of you at the party sitting at a table* you: How did you get that?
"I have a confession," Joaquín was next to you suddenly and you jumped. You looked at him confused but when he turned his phone so you could see the messages you understood.
"You're Quin, Quin is you. Holy shit," you laughed and jumped up to hug him. "I suddenly feel better about having a crush on both of you," you admitted.
"You're not mad?"
"Why would I be mad?" You two were sitting down now.
"I lied," he shurgged.
"Not really, Quin is a nickname for Joaquín and I never really did ask any personal information," you told him, watching him smile. You two spent time talking and by the end, you ended up going back to the hotel with a new boyfriend and the promise to stay in touch with Sarah.
No nonono no no no. I just found Wilted 😭😭😭😭😭my heart can’t take it I think this is one of the best angst fics I’ve ever read😭😭 like it needs so much more recognition. But it can’t end like this.
Idk if you do request and if not that’s completely fine, but could you do like a part two or an au where something triggers her memories (bonus if she gets them back when she’s with her new boyfriend) and she so angry so she asked her mom then maybe she sees Simon walking or she calls him and demands he tells her the truth and that he take her home(with him) even though everyone is telling her Simon’s no good for her(including him), she wont listen and tells him the wreck wasn’t his fault and that nobody decides who she can and can’t be with that it’s her decision. And they get back together you know happy endings.
You can change some stuff if you want I just want to see Simon happy. Ok that’s all don’t forget to eat something and drink some water. Great authors have to take care of themselves too, bye👋❤️.
you got it, nonnie! been cooking this up since you sent the req, and it’s already at 3.4k words 😭. but more importantly, remember to take care of yourself too! here’s your reminder to eat and drink your 12 cups of water 🥹. hope this is close to what you were hoping for 💗 enjoy.
The days had stretched too long without him, the anticipation growing each time you glanced at the door of your flower shop. His deployment was supposed to end a week ago, and every day you found yourself waiting, feeling a quiet ache that had started to bleed into worry. Simon always visited the shop as soon as he came back, his presence slipping in like he was part of the space, a rhythm that had somehow settled into your life.
And then, finally, he arrived.
Simon stepped through the door, and the world felt like it clicked back into place. Everything seemed normal again, like he belonged there, in that space filled with soft greens and blooms. He moved among the flowers like they were as much a part of him as the silence he carried, and you thought that maybe it was just the frequency of his visits. But there was something more—a quiet sense of homecoming, of something unspoken that settled deep inside you.
“What took you so long?” you asked, trying to keep your tone light. Yet the relief that seeped through your words betrayed you, slipping out despite yourself. It was almost silly, really, to feel so much for a man you barely knew.
But here he was, standing in your shop again, and the warmth of his presence seemed to fill a space that had felt empty in ways you hadn’t known.
Simon hesitated, his gaze dipping downward for a moment before he looked back at you. “I… needed to get settled,” he murmured, voice soft. His hand reached into his bag, pulling out a small, nearly-dry purple plant, its leaves curled at the edges. He held it out with a strange kind of reverence, as if it held a secret. “Got this for you. They were all over the ground in Brazil… tried not to hurt it on the way back.”
The plant lay fragile in his hands, bruised but beautiful, and something twisted inside you. As you took it, your fingers brushed his, a moment too brief, too fleeting, and it sent a warmth up your arm.
“It’s lovely,” you whispered, your voice catching on something you couldn’t name. There was an ache there, beneath the words, an unspoken weight that hung in the way he looked at you.
He took a slow, deep breath, his gaze drifting around the shop, his eyes touching each corner as if memorizing it, as if gathering it all up in a way that felt final.
“Listen,” he began, his voice quieter than you’d ever heard it, every word feeling like a struggle. “I… I don’t think I’ll be back for a while.”
The words struck you, sudden and sharp, and you couldn’t help the way your chest tightened. “What do you mean?” you asked, barely managing to keep your voice steady.
“It’s not healthy… coming here again and again,” he replied, looking away as though the words were too heavy to say while meeting your gaze. “Buying flowers, visiting her grave…” He paused, swallowing, and you could see the tension in his shoulders, the grief that clung to him like an old coat. “I can’t keep holding on to someone who’s already gone. If I stay… it feels like I’ll never move on with my life.”
You couldn’t fully understand—why he felt like he had to leave you behind along with the girl he’d lost. He could still visit, couldn’t he? It didn’t make sense why he had to leave you too. But you knew better than to argue with a grieving man, especially one who carried loss in a way that had become part of him.
Your fingers tightened around the plant, holding it like it could keep you steady.
“I understand,” you said softly, though your voice wavered. “But… can’t say that I won’t miss you.” You forced a faint, sad smile, but the ache in your chest felt like something breaking, something you couldn’t quite name.
Simon’s gaze softened, his eyes meeting yours with a look that felt like he was holding back a thousand things he couldn’t say.
“Can’t say I won’t miss you either,” he murmured, his voice raw, as if he were trying to contain everything he felt. “You’ve been… well, you’ve been more than you know.”
The silence that followed was thick, heavy with things unsaid, memories neither of you would speak of. You felt the weight of it all—the quiet understanding, the way you were both holding on to something that seemed to slip further away with every breath.
You took a shaky breath, struggling to find the words to ease the ache blooming in your chest. “I hope you find peace, Simon,” you whispered, voice barely steady. “Real, honest peace. The kind that lets you finally be happy.”
A flicker of something passed over his face—gratitude, maybe, or just understanding, but it was enough to send another pang through you.
“Thank you,” he said, voice rough but sincere, like the words themselves held a weight he couldn’t release. “I’ll try.”
He turned to leave, his steps slow, each one feeling like it carried more than just distance. He paused at the door, glancing over his shoulder one last time, his expression softer than you’d ever seen it.
“Take care of yourself for me, yeah?” he said quietly, almost a plea.
You nodded, feeling a sting in your chest, like you were letting go of something you never even knew you had. “You too, Simon.”
And then, without another word, he walked out of the shop, his presence lingering in the silence he left behind. In your hands, the purple plant sat like a quiet promise, a reminder of something both lost and found.
A goodbye that felt like an ending and a beginning all at once.
You were watching your boyfriend move around the kitchen, chatting with your mom as they prepared dinner together, their voices blending with the warmth of home. Yet, despite the comfort of the scene, something kept pulling your gaze back to the small vase on the counter.
Inside, the purple flower Simon had given you was wilting. Its petals, once vibrant, were curling at the edges, their color fading—a quiet reminder that something beautiful had started to slip away. You couldn’t ignore the faint pang that stirred within you each time you looked at it.
Your mother noticed and smiled, gently suggesting, “Why don’t you press it into one of your journals? You’ve got that lovely collection of pressed flowers. It’d be a shame to let this one go to waste.”
Her words caught you off guard. A collection of pressed flowers? You tried to recall the last time you’d pressed a flower, but nothing came to mind. The idea felt foreign, yet strangely familiar, like an old habit you’d somehow forgotten.
Driven by curiosity, you excused yourself from the kitchen and headed to your room. There, on a dusty shelf, you found a stack of journals that looked well-worn, as though they’d been opened and closed countless times. You selected one at random, and as you opened it, a few pages slipped loose, drifting to the floor.
Kneeling down, you picked up the scattered pages, pausing as your fingers brushed over a pressed daisy, faded but delicately preserved. Beneath it, there was a note written in neat, careful handwriting. You held it closer, heart pounding as you read the words:
Every time I see a flower, I can’t help but think of you. You’re everywhere, even when I’m miles away.
The signature was unmistakable: Simon.
You stood frozen for a moment, rereading the words that felt intimate yet unfamiliar. Simon’s handwriting… words from him, words that seemed to speak to you in ways that went beyond the surface. You couldn’t quite place the feeling, but it was as though he were reaching out to you from a memory you hadn’t realized you’d lost.
Compelled to understand more, you flipped through the pages of the journal, finding more pressed flowers scattered among the entries. Each flower seemed to carry its own message, its own secret memory, and tucked between them were letters—some in Simon’s handwriting, some in your own.
Another note slipped out, this one written by you, the ink familiar and clear:
Home is not the same without you. Every corner feels empty, every morning too quiet. Please, come home safely, Simon. This place isn’t home without you in it.
You felt an ache spread through your chest as you read the words. These weren’t just casual messages—they were parts of a shared story, a connection you hadn’t known existed. Every letter spoke of moments between the two of you, woven together like threads in a tapestry you’d somehow forgotten.
Heart pounding, you reached for another journal, one that looked older and more worn. As you flipped through, more letters and flowers revealed themselves, each one adding to a picture that was slowly coming into focus. Memories of travels, quiet conversations, promises made under moonlit skies—all preserved, pressed between petals and pages.
And then, nestled near the back of one of the journals, you found the last note, written in your handwriting, simple yet filled with a love that resonated through every word:
I love you forever, Simon. And to answer your question… yes, I’ll marry you.
The words seemed to leap off the page, a promise sealed between petals and time, hidden but unforgotten. You felt tears prick at the corners of your eyes as the weight of the letters settled over you, filling the gaps with emotions you hadn’t known you were missing.
This wasn’t just a collection of flowers—it was a history, a story of love, of quiet moments and shared dreams. Simon hadn’t just been a visitor to your shop. He had been a part of your life, woven into it in ways you were only beginning to understand.
As you sat there surrounded by journals and petals, the wilted flower on the counter took on a new meaning. It was a reminder of something fragile yet enduring, something that had managed to survive through time, waiting patiently for you to remember.
And in that quiet moment, surrounded by pieces of a love you hadn’t known you’d lost, you felt the weight of that history settle into your heart, filling it with both sorrow and a newfound understanding of the promise you’d once made—one that now, despite everything, felt as real as ever.
You sat there, surrounded by scattered journals, pressed flowers, and letters that hinted at a life you hadn’t remembered until now. The words on the pages blurred as tears slipped down your cheeks, the weight of each revelation pressing heavily on your heart. This wasn’t just a collection of flowers and notes—this was a love story, preserved between petals and pages, hidden from you until this moment.
Just then, your mother appeared in the doorway. She took in the scene—pages strewn across the floor, tears streaming down your face, and the shattered look in your eyes. Concern deepened in her gaze as she slowly walked over to you.
“Sweetheart?” she asked, her voice soft but edged with worry. “What’s going on? Why are you crying?”
You looked up at her, voice breaking as you clutched the journal close to your chest. “You kept everything from me.”
You clutched the letters tightly in your hands as you made your way to the field. You didn’t know how you knew he’d be here, but somehow it felt right, like an unspoken understanding guiding your steps. The sky was a muted gray, casting a somber light over the tall grass swaying gently in the breeze.
And there he was—Simon. Standing alone, hands in his pockets, his gaze distant as he looked out over the field. The moment he heard your footsteps, he turned, his eyes meeting yours. His gaze dropped to the letters in your hands, and as realization dawned on his face, his expression softened, then crumbled, and for a second, he looked as vulnerable as the words he’d written so long ago.
“Were you ever planning to tell me?” you asked, your voice shaking as you tried to hold back tears. You took a step closer, feeling the weight of each word pressing down on you. “Or were you just going to let me go on without ever knowing?”
Simon’s face fell, and he took a deep breath, his gaze shifting down, unable to meet your eyes. “I didn’t want to hurt you… didn’t want to put you through that again. Everyone thought… it would be easier for you to heal without knowing.”
You shook your head, the letters trembling in your grip. “But I loved you, Simon. I deserved to know that much. I deserved to know what we had.”
The words hung between you, heavy and raw, each one carrying the weight of what had been kept from you. You watched as he took a step closer, his own eyes glistening, his hands clenching at his sides as if he were fighting to keep control.
“I thought I was doing the right thing,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “The last thing I wanted was to bring you more pain.”
“Pain?” you repeated, voice rising. “Do you know what it feels like to find letters and memories that don’t feel like mine, but are? To feel like a stranger in my own life?”
Simon’s shoulders slumped, his gaze filled with guilt. “I’m so sorry… I never wanted this for you.” He looked down, his voice barely above a whisper. “I thought… maybe I could just leave you with a clean slate, let you have a life without the weight of what we went through.”
“But it was my life too, Simon,” you replied, voice soft but resolute. “I had a right to know the love we shared, the promises we made… and you took that from me.”
The silence that followed was thick, suffocating, as you stood facing each other in the empty field, the letters a fragile testament to what once was.
Finally, Simon looked up, meeting your gaze, his own eyes filled with unshed tears.
“I loved you more than anything,” he said, his voice rough, each word like a confession. “And I still do. That’s why it was so damn hard to watch you live without knowing… but it felt selfish to want you back, to bring you all the hurt that we went through.”
Your throat tightened as you looked down at the letters, the words that held pieces of a love you’d somehow forgotten, promises you hadn’t known you’d made.
“But maybe that’s not your choice to make,” you whispered. “Maybe… maybe I needed to remember, even if it hurt.”
Simon’s face softened, his eyes filling with a vulnerability you hadn’t seen before, glistening with unshed tears as he took a shaky breath.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” he murmured, his voice barely holding together, each word heavy with remorse.
“You owe it to me, Simon,” you said, your voice steady despite the ache. “I have a right to know who I was—to know who we were. And if it hurts, then that’s mine to bear.”
He looked away, jaw tightening, struggling against the emotions that threatened to break through. “I just… I thought maybe if you had a fresh start, it would be easier. You could move on without… without the memories.”
“But they aren’t just memories, Simon,” you replied, your voice soft but firm. “They’re pieces of me, of us. And you had no right to decide I didn’t need them.” You held up the letters, trembling in your hands, a tangible reminder of the love you’d both lost. “These aren’t just words on a page—they’re moments, promises we shared, a life we built together. You can’t erase that, no matter how much you try.”
Simon’s gaze returned to you, his eyes filled with a mix of regret and longing that mirrored your own. “You’re right,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I owe you that, and more. I was wrong to keep it from you. I was wrong to think I could just let you go and pretend it would be better that way.”
You took a shaky breath, feeling the weight of everything that had been kept from you since the accident, the loss of something you never even knew was yours.
“My life… it hasn’t felt right since the accident,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “Like I’ve been living in a place that doesn’t quite fit, like I’m walking through someone else’s memories.”
Simon’s expression softened, his gaze filled with an ache that mirrored your own. He didn’t say anything, waiting, giving you space to continue.
“When you came to say goodbye, it hurt in a way I couldn’t understand,” you continued, your voice thick with emotion. “I didn’t know why I felt so empty watching you leave. But the only thing that’s made sense… the only thing that felt real was when you walked into the flower shop. Every time you came by, it was like… like a part of me recognized you, even if I didn’t know why.”
He reached out, his fingers gently brushing against yours, grounding you as he spoke. “I should have known. I thought I could walk away, let you find your own peace, but it’s clear now… I’ve just been trying to hide from something we both needed.”
You held his gaze, pain, regret, and quiet understanding filling the silence between you.
And then, your eyes drifted downward, noticing something glinting at his chest. Hanging alongside his dog tags was a delicate silver band—a ring, familiar in shape and weight. It took you a moment to realize what it was, but when you did, it felt like the ground slipped out from under you.
It was your engagement ring.
The ring you’d once said yes to. An evidence of a love you couldn’t remember but somehow felt deep in your bones.
A fresh wave of emotion surged through you, your gaze lifting to meet Simon’s. He noticed your stare, his fingers reaching up to touch the ring as if it were a talisman, his face softened with both pain and something that looked like hope.
“Simon…” you whispered, words catching in your throat. “I don’t know if what I feel right now is love. I don’t know if I can call it that… yet.” You took a deep, steadying breath. “But I feel like it could be someday. Like there’s something here that could grow into that.”
His eyes glistened with something close to relief, and he nodded, his lips pressing into a faint, bittersweet smile. “That’s more than I ever thought I’d hear from you again,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
You held his gaze, a strange peace settling over you as you spoke. “I know I loved you once. And maybe… maybe I’ll love you again. In this life, and whatever comes after.”
A quiet, vulnerable smile touched his lips as he reached up, his fingers brushing over the ring, the same band that held so much history, so much unspoken promise.
“I was waiting for you to come back,” he murmured, his voice breaking slightly. “Waiting for you to remember.”
You felt your chest tighten, the weight of his words settling deep within you. Stepping closer, you gently placed your hand over his, your thumb brushing against the ring he’d held onto all this time.
“I’m here now,” you whispered, meeting his gaze.
The pain, the longing, and the love that had waited in silence between you found its voice in that moment. You didn’t need memories to know that this was where you belonged, and for the first time in a long time, the pieces of your life began to feel whole.
As you sat there with him, surrounded by the stillness of the field, you noticed a lone dandelion growing nearby, its delicate seeds waiting to be carried away by the breeze. You reached over, plucking it gently, and held it out to him with a soft smile.
“Make a wish,” you whispered, your voice barely breaking the quiet around you.
He looked at the dandelion, then back at you, a tender smile crossing his face as he shook his head. “I already got my wish,” he murmured, his eyes filled with a warmth and sincerity that made your heart ache in the best way.
In that moment, words felt unnecessary.
You leaned into him, feeling the quiet reassurance of his presence, knowing that whatever lay ahead, you would face it together.
