they didnt show klaus actually flirting with dave in the flashbacks because it was just klaus saying “whats POPPINGGGGUH UNGHHHH” and daves mind couldnt handle it like the people of 1968 had only just lost rfk, they werent ready to understand the concept of whats poppinguh ungh, klaus forced daves third eye wide open and slipped a contact lens right in there

#out.#ok . but for real i am thinking about dave. and idk if klaus told him the truth (i dont think he did)#about being from the future #but i feel like dave could kind of tell there was something just like off kilter about klaus like all jokes aside theres something #kind of off about him and not in a bad way actually its kind of nice like the way deja vu is nice sometimes #bc like when you look past the weird feeling its like. ok. i have done this already. its all been done and im still here #and then klaus is like. funny and weird and like GAY? he is GAY and LOUD about it and that is like INEXPLICABLE for dave #because the army is the place you dont do that not if you want to keep all your teeth in your head #like klaus says funny things and makes references to movies dave hasnt seen but he is so pretty and maybe definitely hes not perfect #(like you can tell when someone is addicted to something)#and maybe he hates himself for some things but not for being gay not for loving who he wants! and thats nice! it is so nice!#klaus cant really shoot straight and he needs help with EVERYTHING and sometimes dave thinks he never went thru boot camp at all BUT.#somehow dave feels safe with him because theres that deja vu thing again like some sort of absolute unyielding knowledge that #this has already happened somewhere sometime maybe for klaus and maybe that means he gets out on the other side too?? who knows #and klaus hid that briefcase and he stayed in the war for ten months in the WAR in VIETNAM and you cant live in america and not know #what vietnam was like at least a little bit and he stayed and he was GOING to stay and i dont think he was ever planning on going back #he could have left at any time he wasnt trained for fighting hes not a soldier he could have run away but he didnt because dave was there #:^)
