"He calls me the devil" - Chapter 3: Seriously
Celebratory news floods the village within the following week.
The Nanadaime is now engaged to his girlfriend of four years—the intelligent daughter of Katasuke Tono, the leader of the visionary Scientific Ninja Tools Team.  She is known to be as smart and independent-thinking as her father, yet less nerdy and more socially-attuned and easy to talk to.
“He’s finally getting married!”  “They waited a long time.”  “Well, he’s a busy man.”  “How wonderful for both of them!”  “When is the wedding?”
Such conversation was on everyone’s lips as if Uzumaki Naruto’s personal life is a part of their own.
Certainly they’ll be happy together.
That’s what she wishes she could think.
He doesn’t request her for any missions or meetings for the next two weeks, and that’s fine.
That’s completely fine.
She doesn’t want to have to see him.
She knows he definitely doesn’t want to see her.
Not when he’s getting married.
That’s probably why he was acting that way that night.
Getting everything out before proposing.
Crossing a line that should never be crossed while he was still a “free” man.
Taking everything out on her and making it her burden.
She hates him.
She hates that she hates him this much.  She hates that he gets his way, that she can’t just be impervious to his actions and words, that he got under her skin, that she won’t be able to treat him the way she treats everyone else.
How can she now that he dumped his stupid feelings on her?
Why does he get to act like a spoiled brat, and still the rest of the world worships the ground he walks on?  Why does he get to marry that girl like it’s a happy ending when she knows he doesn’t deserve it?  When she knows he’ll probably fuck it up over and over, but no one would ever know because he just somehow always gets his way?
Why the fuck is he marrying Katasuke Hanano in the first place?  Why doesn’t he just break up with her??  If he’s as good a person as everyone says he is, how can his consciousness handle his betrayal?
“Hate me properly, Hinata.”
Those pitiful words repeating in her head, and she hates it.
She hates him!
He’s not making any sense!
And she hates that she can’t just go barging into his office to demand answers.
Because…
She sinks deeper into the ofuro, letting the heated water engulf her as if it can drown out the voice of her youth.
She’s almost 30.
It’s been years since she clung to him.  Years since she used to always rush to his defense no matter what like it was her life’s mission to protect him.
It’s been 15 years since she confessed to him, and he rejected her, saying that he appreciates her close friendship, but that he couldn’t see her in that way.
It had hurt.
It had hurt so much back then for her poor, teenage, immature heart, and she had cried so much in private, that she can still remember the pain of knowing that nothing she did or said to prove her devotion was ever enough for him.
She was so stupid.
She was so stupid that it took her several years, into her 20s, for her to finally feel like she didn’t love him anymore.
Outwardly, no one could tell how she suffered.  To everyone else, it seemed like they just grew apart.  Her teammates, Kiba and Shino, told her that they were so glad that her “obsession” with him was over.  They liked her better and found her easier to work with now that she wasn’t defending “Naruto-kun” in every other breath.
She agreed with them.  Honestly.  She felt like she matured after his sound rejection, and he never gave her any hint of regret on his part.
So.
What the fuck.
Why does he think he loves her now?
He must not actually.  He must not truly love her.
He probably was just getting cold feet before the proposal, like the pitiful man he’s always been.
She knows this, so why.  Why does she feel so messed up?
Why does this plague her?  Why can’t she just brush this aside like it means nothing to her?  Why does this mean something to her?
She doesn’t even love him anymore!
So why does she care??
She hates him.  And right now, she hates herself.  She can’t even make sense of herself, so how can she possibly confront him?
She busies herself with clan work, going over their collective earnings from missions for their household budget when she notes a strange deposit into the clan’s shared family account.
Signed off by Kou.
Searching for him takes little time.  He’s often nearby.
“What was the deposit you made on Monday?  Where did that money come from?”  It was a lot.  Around the same amount as an A-rank mission.
He formally bows and stands straight.  “It was the check from the Ninjutsu Research Centre.”
She can’t stop the confusion from showing on her face, even though she knows it was just a twitch.  “...For what.”
“...I put the accompanying letter in your mail files.”  Kou’s short pause is enough to know that he noticed the uncharacteristic uncertainty in her expression.
The fact that she missed the letter is even more of a hint that something is wrong with her.  “Just show it to me.”
He leads her purposefully back to her office, opens her cabinet drawer, and quickly pulls out the envelope.
“Thank you.  You may go.”
Dear Hyuuga Hinata and Hyuuga Hanabi,
On behalf of the Scientific Ninja Tools Team, I would like to extend our utmost gratitude for your support in our endeavor to improve shinobi technology.  Your cooperation in the development of our doujutsu glasses will deepen our understanding of our relationship with chakra and will undoubtedly lead to more efficient medical care and emergency response.  We greatly appreciate your generosity of your time and wisdom.  Enclosed you will find the first returns on your share of the investments in the doujutsu glasses.
Sincerely,
Katasuke Tono
Ninjutsu Research Centre
She rereads the letter twice.  She rereads the very last line several times.
She clearly remembers that the Scientific Ninja Tools Team, specifically this man Katasuke Tono, was against giving any sort of profit to her clan.
She never met with him specifically.  Even later on during the development meetings, she always met with some other researcher.
It was Naruto’s job to convince them to cooperate.  “Hinata and Hanabi, please.  I know that you both have made it very clear that you won’t help without compensation, but consider this.  No one will be after your or your family’s eyes ever again.  Not when there’s technology that mimics your doujutsu.  Who would want to go through the trouble of stealing from a Hyuuga when they can just buy it?  You can finally truly be rid of the ideology behind the Caged Bird Seal.  Your clan can finally be free from the past.
I know you want monetary compensation, but technology development costs are exorbitant, and donors and investors expect their money to go directly into the product.  Tono says that he can’t give you any compensation other than his gratitude.  Please consider the good this technology can do for our medical field and village security.”
She agonized over the decision, and in the end, Hanabi led her to agree with the argument that no glasses would ever be able to replace the specialized Hyuuga training.  Even people who steal their eyes are never able to master the Byakugan.  Helping with the glasses can only lead to benefits for their clan in the long run.  Just the fact that they want to make doujutsu glasses is laughable.
Simply wearing the lens isn’t enough to turn you into a Byakugan wielder.  Simply having the eyes of a Hyuuga isn’t enough, either.  And people who have stolen from them in the past learn that the Byakugan are a huge drain on their chakra systems.  The glasses would be no different.  It will be a lesson for others to learn sooner with the glasses.
Naruto is most likely right in that case.  Who would want to go through the trouble of stealing from a Hyuuga when the glasses are readily available?
Leading her to this moment.
With a huge sum of money when the glasses aren’t even ready, yet.  With money that was supposedly necessary for the development of the glasses.  With a letter that promises there will be ongoing returns.
It’s enough money that her clan doesn’t have to worry about the property tax hikes that the daimyo is forcing on their village.  The money from these glasses will be more than enough to cover the taxes over the years.
What made Tono change his mind?
And why didn’t Naruto or someone, anyone, tell them?
Hanabi would’ve told her had she known.  Just yesterday, she and Hanabi had been discussing what to do about the property taxes and where in their budget they’d have to cut.
So, obviously…
Naruto did something.
He must have negotiated in secret…awhile ago.
How did he…
She freezes, the image of Naruto down on one knee in a romantic proposal to his girlfriend tearing apart to yield a different picture.
An arranged marriage.
Possibly.
No.  They’d been dating for 4 years.
It couldn’t be arranged.  They’d been dating ever since…
Ever since Kakashi stepped down.
She looks up from the letter, her mind blanking out with doubt.
What?
She remembers finding their announced relationship odd and out-of-the-blue.  But in all honesty with herself, she didn’t want to think about Naruto’s relationships deeply at all.
When she used to pay attention, all she could do was take offense.  Feel angry.  Feel betrayed.  Feel heartbroken.  How dare he decide to start hooking up with women who didn’t even really know him, who weren’t even as beautiful or talented as she is?  His taste in women was alarmingly poor, and she found it as further evidence that she shouldn’t love him anymore.  Not when he was turning into an adult who was actually empty on the inside and needed attention and affirmation from anyone who would give it.
She stopped paying attention after awhile.
She played the matchmaking field herself, as befitting of a Hyuuga.  She lost her virginity to another clan head from Suna.  Nearly 10 years older than her.  Experienced, respectful, and most of all, he understood the responsibilities on her shoulders.  They could talk at length and agreed on several topics.  In disagreements, their discussions were interesting.
Best of all, he didn’t really want to get married, yet.  He was waiting for the right person.
She wasn’t it for him, thank goodness.  Because she simply didn’t want to get married, yet.  But leaving the responsibility to the clan matchmaker to decide her dating pool made effort on her part so much easier.  After him, she’d had a few other liaisons, but nothing ever serious.
And that’s when Naruto was appointed Hokage.  That’s when he was suddenly in a visible relationship with the Katasuke daughter that the village buzzed about.
Someone she couldn’t find any particular reason to dislike or admire.  Hanano was agreeable, a fine reputation, nothing stood out about her.  She was so unlike any of his previous hook-ups, and maybe that’s why the village was in a stir.  Hanano didn’t seem like his type.
And for that, everyone supported them.
No one ever seriously questioned why or how if it seemed like a good thing.
But what if all of this had been arranged from the start?
What if Naruto had started dating Hanano for certain reasons?  Like becoming Hokage or…or garnering donor support from corporations for his initiatives… What if she had been right that night?  To accuse him of selling himself to corporations.  She’d known she’d been right, but to this extent?  What if he was marrying Hanano for…
How fucking stupid can he be?
Can he really be so stupid as to marry Hanano just so that they don’t have to worry about the property tax hikes?  So that her clan can be financially compensated for the dumb glasses?  Would he seriously get into an unwanted marriage just so that…
She leans against her desk, feeling her mind racing in circles.
It’s so ridiculous.
This is all just conjecture.
It’s possible that Tono changed his mind on his own.
It’s also possible that this is something that Naruto would do.
He so stupidly would.
She’s known him since childhood, she’s watched him grow up, she’s witnessed every painful warp in his innocence as an adult, as the Hokage, as a tiring, aging 30-year old who never goes home to his now-fiancée and instead lives in his office.
He’s stupid enough.
She finds her face in one of her hands, a heat at her cheeks.  This is too ridiculous.  She could laugh.  She can feel a smile at her lips, and her whole body feels warm.
Oh, she has to see him.
She has to pick at him, dig at him, find out if he’s actually that stupid.  If his life is really as pathetic as it seems.  She has to see if all of this is a story in her head or if he’ll prove her right yet again.
She has to see him fall apart, she has to see his stoic mask fall off and what face will he show her?  Even if she’s wrong, what expression will he make?  Would he be angry?  Offended?  Oh, would he kick her out of his office?  Would he stutter?  The famous talker suddenly speechless?
She has to thank him if she’s right.
If he really sold himself in such a total way.  For her clan’s benefit?  Oh, who knew the Hokage’s unrequited love could be so valuable?
She leaves her office with the letter and finds Kou.  “This is good news.  I’m stepping out now to give my thanks.”
Kou bows.
And as she makes her way to the Tower, she realizes all her worries from the past two weeks don’t mean anything to her.  What was she so upset about?  She doesn’t even really care that he cheated on his fiancée.  He’s always been inept at romance, so it should come as no surprise.
Naruto is just as simple as he’s always been.  Twisting himself about, bending himself backwards, trying to please everyone around him.  He’s happiest when he’s made others happy.
Perhaps, just maybe, she has the Hokage in the palm of her hand.  Who actually cares if he has feelings for her?  She doesn't.
Because apparently, she can use this to her clan’s advantage.

Sooo... I’ve been posting a fanfiction in Portuguese which I’ve been getting such a great feedback. Because of that I decided to translate to English. The story was totally inspired by this post:
https://ohnej.tumblr.com/post/650109365196603392/au-hokage-naruto-uzumaki-and-hyuga-clan-leader
Thanks Ohnej! <3
Summary: Naruto was happy. He was about to become the Seventh Hokage. He got engaged with his long-term girlfriend. All of his dreams were becoming a reality. The only problem was being haunted by wet dreams with Hinata Hyuuga: one of the Konoha's council members. (Original universe - canon divergent)

"He calls me the devil" - Chapter 2: What the hell
Footsteps.
Approaching her room.
She pauses in her moisturizing as low-simmering annoyance rises.
Her peaceful nightly routine interrupted.
For a mission perhaps or some other catastrophe that requires her attention.
She recaps her creams and stands up, prepared to reach for her mission gear.
Kou’s faint silhouette appears on the other side of the shoji.  “Hinata-sama, please excuse me.”
“Yes, what is it?”
He wastes not a second of her time, continuing, “Nanadaime requests your presence immediately for a meeting.”
“A meeting at this time of night?!”  Incredulous, she stares at Kou’s shadowed, bowed figure behind the door.
His respectful silence is her only answer.
She tsks, aware that her trusted cousin has no part in this.  “Go ahead and alert Hanabi.  You can tell the anbu that we’re coming.”  No matter how ridiculous, an emergency meeting at night is no ordinary matter.
Kou doesn’t move and, instead, bows again.  “He requested your presence alone.”
She freezes, gaze hard.  “He knows I share authority.”
“The anbu does not know the details of the meeting.  He was only given directives that Nanadaime requires your immediate attendance without company.”
Scoffing, she works her jaw, reason settling on that afternoon’s incident.  She lets this aggravation mellow.  She should have known he would retaliate for her provocation, that his stubbornness wouldn’t let her win this one.  “Okay, fine.”
Her tone shows that she’s not at all fine with this.
But Kou, obviously used to her temper, straightens and leaves, allowing her time to sit and at least finish moisturizing.  Though with a strong sense of responsibility and the off-chance that this meeting could possibly be for something actually important, she doesn’t dally much longer.
She fits into an easy tailored dress, and acceptably presentable, heads out.
The anbu, waiting for her, bows deeply.
She nods silently in return, opting to save the poor lapdog from her venom.
-
Entering the Tower, she notes that night operations appear normal.
Quiet.
No flustered rushing about by his aides.  No yells.  No whispered gossip or concerns.
No emergency.
But she keeps her expression calm, no matter how much she wishes to scowl.  It’s a certainty that he’s expecting her to be aggravated.
He’s trying to upset her.  Probably as much as she upset him this afternoon.
She won’t give him that satisfaction.
So with the poised grace the Hyuuga are internationally known for, she knocks and enters his office.  “Excuse me.”
He’s not at his desk.  He’s standing at the window, turning to face her as she closes the door.
Like any dutiful shinobi, she stands straight, properly, silently.  As if he called her for a mission.
He could at least have the decency to speak first, but instead he’s staring.
Perhaps he's waiting for her to bite.
So she makes sure to stare back.
“I’m sorry to call you here so late at night.”  His low voice almost resounds in the room, emphasizing exactly how late it is.
His words sink sickly down her gut, the wish to at least say, No, you’ve never been sorry, is at the tip of her tongue, and instead, she slowly blinks at him, letting the apology fall flat.
His brows and jaw slightly shift, and she watches him intentionally settle himself.  He gestures to the sofas separated with a coffee table in-between, arranged at the side of the room.  “Please, have a seat.”
It’s the space where the retired kage hang out.  The space for his mentors to chat with him, the space for him to relax away from his desk.  She’s certain he sometimes sleeps there, too, after all, his workaholic habits are notorious.
And, her suspicion about this meeting being about their earlier argument is right.  He’s trying to get buddy-buddy with her.  In the same way he charms everyone else.
But without argument, she goes over and properly waits for him to sit down across from her before sitting down herself.
He leans over, arms resting on his man-spread knees, gaze somewhere on the low table between them.  He’s purposely lowering his position, trying to get her to feel at ease.  “We need to talk.”
His eyes shift up, and she makes sure his gaze lands on her most judgmental expression possible.
Let her silence speak louder than any talking.  She knows he hates being ignored the most.
He sits up straighter, obviously bothered that they’re not on the same page.  “Even if you don’t want to talk to me, I can’t-”  His gaze flicks up to the ceiling.  “It never used to be like this between us.  I can’t stand this.”
He’s looking at her now, all meaningful and piercing, and she supposes this confrontation is supposed to be disarming.  She gives him a small, wry smile.  “Just come out and say you can’t stand me, Hokage-sama.  Just say that I’m difficult to deal with.”
He immediately grimaces.  “That’s not what I mean!  We were friends!  You’re my precious comrade.  You, you saved my life over and over, you were there for me, protecting me in the war, I’ll never forget that, Hinata.”
On any lesser woman, she thinks this little flashback of his would be moving.
“I’ve never forgotten it,” he continues, as if repetition will spring tears to her eyes.  “There’s been so many times-” he looks away, clearly reminiscing, “-when I’ve thought about what could’ve happened if I hadn’t had you by my side.”
In his heavy following silence, she lets him wait for an earnest response that she doesn’t have.  Obviously, he must know she used to think about him.  And that’s what he probably wants to hear.  A true heart-to-heart for his benefit.  Her silence is a kind service compared to what she could say: “Well, we’d both be dead!  And the entire world with us!”
He forges ahead despite her look of zero encouragement.  “I’d trust you with my life, even now.  You may hate me for…for back then, but, Hinata, you have to know that I could never hate you.  You have to know that I miss our friendship.”
A part of her feels nostalgic for this cheesy kind of Naruto…if only his famously cutesy talk-no-jutsu wasn’t being used against her.  How far can he misunderstand?  How large can his ego get?  Why does she have to put up with his crap?  “If you think that I hate you for rejecting me when we were teenagers, then you must think very little of me.”  She stands, deciding that she really doesn’t have to deal with any male fragility this late at night.  Her explanation should suffice.  “I simply treat you the same as everyone else now.”
“I know.”  His raised voice echoes around the empty room as he suddenly stands, too.  “I know you treated me differently back then because you loved me.  I’m not asking for you to treat me the same as back then, just, a little… civility would be nice?”
If she could air palm him with a look, she would.  She can’t believe she’s hearing about civility from Naruto, of all people.  “I was perfectly civil all the times you asked for our cooperation with the development of new scientific ninja tools, despite the risk of exposing secrets of our doujutsu.  I was perfectly civil, too, the first time you tried to raise our taxes.”
He scoffs.  “No, you weren’t.”
She sighs.  She’s tired.  She wishes she were in bed.  There’s just no way for him to understand that Hyuuga civility is as cold and unyielding as the middle of winter.  “Hokage-sama, please, we can have this talk when you can tell me the truth, that you practically hate me now.  You hate that you want to hate me.  So much so that you wish I could just be easy and sweet to you, like back then, and in the same way everyone else treats you.”
She makes to finally leave, but he grabs her wrist mid-turn.  “I’m not letting you walk out of my office with the last word again.”
His ridiculously competitive and self-aware challenge would have made her laugh if he wasn’t gripping her so tightly.  “Unhand me.”
“You’re not walking out of here because I will follow after you, and you will most definitely hate the scene I will cause.”
“There is nothing more for me to say to you.  I’m tired.  It’s late.  And you called me here for your pity party?  Let me go home.”
“I’ll let you go home when you tell me the truth, that you want me to hate you, and that you treat me the same as everyone else now because you want me to hate you, and that you actually hate me because you still care about what I think of you, and you wish you didn’t care!  But you do!”
“What?”  She doesn’t understand half of what he just said, but then actually, she doesn’t want to hear him try to rephrase his long-windedness.  “Just let go of me.  Right now.”
He does.
And she heads directly for the door.
“You’re right I can’t stand you.”  His voice is suddenly above her head, his body at her back as if the distance she put between them was nothing at all.  It’s enough to remind her exactly how much power he wields and has full control over.
But she ignores the spike in her heart rate and turns to face him, to better witness his Hokage mask crack.
This close to him, she can see the sleep deprivation heavy under his eyes, but the vibrant blue of his irises spark with a fiery excitement she hasn’t seen in years.  “I hate that I can’t stand how dishonest you are now.  I hate that I can’t handle you treating me like everyone else.  I hate how you never tell me the truth anymore when you used to tell me everything!”
She blinks, confused by conflicting senses of surprise and validation.  “What do you mean?  I never told you everything!  And why should I tell you anything anyway?  Look at what you’ve turned out to be!  You were always a people-pleaser at heart, but now you’re even at the beck and call of the daimyo and every single money-making corporation of Konoha!”
“The fuck?, you know that’s not true, you know why I do the work I have to do, you know that it’s for the benefit of Konoha’s shinobi and families, you know that, so you always eventually agree to help but you always have to make things difficult first!”
“I have to make the terms fair for my clan!  You’re always presenting the worst possible conditions for us!  You never speak on our behalf, you always make me out the villain to your sponsors, it’s easier for you, isn’t it?  For you to remain the golden child in everyone else’s eyes.”
“Oh, is that right?  Tell me what else you know about my job.”
She’s never had to look up at him at such a demeaningly harsh angle before, having never stood this close to him after his final growth spurt, and unconsciously, she finds herself taking steps back to relieve the strain on her neck.
But he steps forward anyway.
“Using intimidation tactics to get your way.  Like right now.  Making me look up at you.  You always stand when we argue.  I bet you do the same thing in your other meetings.”
“So I’m a people-pleaser and a bully?”  His expression has never looked so sadistic, and it’s never been so clear that his job has changed him.
She hates what he’s become.  All those teenage years of beautiful maturation wasted; the boy who conquered his anger, the boy she fell in love with, grown into a domineering, yet pathetically attention-seeking adult.  “You call me dishonest, but you never show what you honestly think-”
“I just did!  What do you think I called you here for!”
“No.  You’re manipulative now.  You always have secret intentions.  Even now.”
He crooks a brow, an amused smile forming.  “...What secret intentions do you think I have?”
And she’s realizing she completely forgot to not give him any satisfaction of a response.  Her own original plan to remain stoic fumbled from the moment he got too close to her.  She takes a deep breath in.
Lets it out in a disappointed sigh.
She’ll let him win this round.
She turns around, finds herself only a couple of steps away from the door, and reaches for the handle.
“Hinata, what secret intentions do you think I have?”  His emphasis is mocking, laughter in his tone, he’s teasing her!, and a knot of bitterness aches in her gut.
She spares him only a glance.  “Don’t ever call me again just to talk.  We’re not friends.”
The shadow of his hand registers as she’s turning the handle, and his weight pins the door closed.  “You’re not leaving with the last word.  You’re not leaving until you admit you hate me because you still care about me.”
“I’m not going to do you the disservice of lying, Hokage-sama.  Yes, I hate you.  But not for the reasons you think.”
His look of challenge, that cockiness, melts off his face.  His brows slant seriously.  “Go on.  Tell me.”
“I told you several reasons already.”  She looks back at the door, hoping his weight has lessened, but it hasn’t.
He’s a looming presence over her, and it’s honestly astonishing how he can be completely over her without touching her.  “Look at me, Hinata.”
“No.  My neck hurts.”  It comes out as a mutter, and she knows she sounds embarrassingly pathetic.  She feels small, which is entirely against her sense of self.  The clan leader she was raised to be…reduced to just a girl in the shadow of his stupid height.
The stupid height of someone as conceited as him.  “You want to go home, right?”
She rolls her eyes and sighs out, “Yes.”
“Then…call me…the way you used to.”  His voice is almost shy, and she can’t believe his mood can swing so much within only a couple of minutes.
She’s glad she’s facing the door so that he can’t see the incredulous face she’s making.  How can he still not admit to having secret intentions when he’s being this obvious?  “No.  There’s no reason for me to do something so inappropriate, Hokage-sama.  You requested that I be civil with you.”
Her senses are on alert with the tension skating at her back.  His temper’s high.
Yet he says nothing.
He’s silent for ten long seconds.
She glares at the handle.  What did she do?  Puncture his inflated ego?  Kick a puppy?  She takes a breath in and turns to look up at him.  “Will you let me go-”
His hand pushes her shoulder back, and shock catches her breath short in her chest.
Her back bumps the door, and his face is close enough to feel his exhalation.  Glinting blond-brown lashes flutter upward, his shadowed gaze trailing up until he’s looking straight at her.  “Better?”
His question doesn’t make sense.
Comprehension starts with her own eyes.
She’s been staring.  At his blue eyes, too familiar for someone so different from before.
She blinks.
And realizes she’s not breathing.
Shallow breath returns to her chest, and if she breathes too deeply, she knows her breasts may touch him.
So she can still hardly breathe.
Also.
She thought he was going to kiss her.
She grimaces in self-loathing at this realization, at the knee-jerk direction of her thoughts, even though she knows she would have hated it.
No, of course she’d think that with the way he’s been behaving.  And that’s no fault of her own.
“A people-pleaser and a bully,” she repeats his words as coolly as possible, gaze averted to his shoulder.
“Explain more about why you hate me.”
She doesn’t deign that with a response.  “Get off of me.”
“I’m not on you.”
She can’t believe she’s still in this fucking office.  “Let me go home.”
“I changed my mind.  I don’t want you to be civil with me.”
Before she can control it, she’s already looking back into his eyes.  She reverts her gaze again when she sees how he smirks.  “This is harassment, and I’ll report you to Tsunade-sama.”
“I want you to treat me like you hate me.”
“I already-”
“More.  I want you to show how you hate me the most.”
“Unfortunately, I don’t-”
His kiss is strong, his tongue forcing through her mouth, bullying her noncompliant lips open, the twisting of his tongue around hers numbing her brain for a second.
His hands are huge, cupping the back and side of her head entirely, and her body goes rigid, the bones of her fingers and elbows locking.
She forces her hands up to squeeze between them, to push at his chest, to expel chakra, only to find his own thick chakra cloak heating her hands, too much an intimate recall of years ago, overwhelming and swallowing her attack like nothing.
He’s not letting her go.  Her heart palpitates at the unpleasantly nostalgic and surprisingly callous nature of his forcefulness, and she manages to jerk her head away, his lips and tongue sliding erotically over her chin, down her neck.
His breathy, slow, wistful-sounding sigh on her pulse practically makes her adrenaline take pause.
He pulls away.
She’s frozen, shoulders tense, but it's like the heat of his mouth broke her entire body into a sweat.  She can't remember the last time she's felt so uncomfortably and embarrassingly hot, and that earlier sickly twisting in her gut is back, yet she can’t explain it.
He’s standing there, a blank expression on his face as he stares at how she’s collecting herself back together.
How could he do something like that?  She predicted the kiss.  She thought he’d let her push him off.  She thought he’d gloat more, like he pulled an inappropriate practical joke.  She doesn’t even know what to make of this…this…
Passion.
She looks back up at him, realizing something worse, and though she doesn’t blame herself for forgetting, she’s now doubly shocked.  “You just cheated on your girlfriend.”  A girlfriend she knows he rarely sees, a girlfriend she has no reason to respect or interact with, but the Hokage’s girlfriend of four years nonetheless.
“Go ahead and tell her.  She won’t believe you.”
She doesn’t stop her eyes from widening.  She suddenly feels like she’s really looking at someone she doesn’t know.
“Hate me properly, Hinata.”  He backs away, that empty look stirring something awful in her.
A beat passes, and it’s horrid, a terrible realization as his lips part to form words she doesn’t want to hear.
She turns around, pulling the door open and slamming it behind her.
She strides back home and she doesn’t care that she’s radiating an undignified amount of spiteful energy.
This whole time.  She misread him.
Misunderstood his looks and words.
As lustful attraction.  Egocentric longing.  Regretful desire.  The hunger of a hollow man who lacks meaning in his boring life and will look for any scraps of self-fulfillment in anything, in titles, in past glories, in her, a world-renowned shinobi clan leader who was once-upon-a-time his aggressively clingy cheerleader.
She thought she still knew him, every nasty warp of his celebrated adulthood.
Beneath his mask…
How the dullness of his tired eyes softened yet lit up.
And what he was about to say.
She collapses onto the floor of her bedroom, astounded.
It’s true that she still had a soft spot for him.  Years of devotion could do that to a woman.  But it was to the boy she fell in love with.
Not to this.
It brought her some entertainment to dig for the fiery bits and pieces still there.  She didn’t realize they were shards too broken up to put back together.  The Naruto she knew would never betray the trust of his girlfriend.
And the Naruto she knew would never force her like that.  He’d never overpower her on purpose.
“Hate me properly, Hinata.”
More than hate, it’s something to mourn.  A Naruto she could never love.  A Naruto who started loving her at some unknown point in time.
Those feelings he’s suddenly decided to hold a torch to.
They’re unwanted.
And she knows he doesn’t want them, either.

hello days! can you recommend some naruhina fanfics wherein hinata moved on from her unrequited feelings with naruto and so she got to the point she became sort of a bitch loathing naruto at some point (and maybe plotting her revenge towards him) but then years later they found each other and this time naruto convinced hinata that he’s inloved with her and she should stop being not herself..?
Hello!
So I've been thinking about this one a lot because I don't know any.
hinata moves on from unrequited feelings
hinata loathes naruto for it / would like vengeance
years later they meet each other again
naruto convinces hinata that he's been in love with her
hinata accepts him
The only one I can think of that is close to what you're asking for is specifically lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers with a vengeful Hinata:
“March - Fanfic/Fanart inspo” from “Still Falling For You” by @chloelapomme - Rated M, Pirates AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. It’s time for Hinata to confront the thief who stole her treasure from her.
I don't know any others. If you'd like to see a previous rec list of just enemies-to-lovers it's here.
I almost forgot about this one...it's not enemies really. But Hinata acts pretty cold to Naruto at times.
“A Hallmark Movie” by browniefic - Rated T, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Naruto and Hinata cross paths six years after he broke her heart. A naruhina Christmas fic.
Now this one, on the other hand, has a slightly vengeful Naruto. It's lovers-to-strangers-eventually back to lovers!
"thus a silenced memory" by @keroppri - Rated T, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Eight years flown on by and Naruto makes his return to the city where he once fell in love, only for him to leave hollow and broken after she was persuaded to leave him. Plagued by her memory at every corner, a chance meeting changes fates, minds, and hearts. Thus he tries to silence the memories.
omg. I forgot about my own fic lol. Yes, in my fic, Hinata's pining heart was spurned by Naruto's lack of tact, and she becomes pretty darn bitchy to him as a result.
"He calls me the devil" - Rated E, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Ohnej's AU, where Hyuga clan leader Hinata Hyuga and Hokage Naruto Uzumaki can’t tolerate each other.
I can't believe I forgot about my own fic. It still doesn't hit all the points you requested, though.
Okay, so this next one has that glow-up idea. Where like Hinata gets mad at Naruto for an insult, starts focusing on being sexy, and Naruto starts realizing he's in love with her.
“The Cinderella Makeover Naruto Style” by CharismaHarmony - Rated M, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. When Hinata’s best friend, Naruto said that she wasn’t the type of woman men fall in love with, she bet him 1000 she’d have a marriage proposal in 3 months.
oooh maybe this one matches? Hinata's never a bitch in this, though.
“Why can’t I give up on you?” by catwithapencil - Rated T, Multi-chapter, Complete.  They use to be great friends but, after a confession, some heart break and a lot of avoiding they grew apart. Now after almost five years they finally reunite in a cafe of all places and now are co-workers? will Naruto and Hinata regain their friendship? or will they become something more?
....and here I thought I only had one possible recommendation. Hopefully one of those 6 fics will satisfy! If anyone can think of anything that matches what anon is asking for, please add on!
