The Entity H.C.s

·       The Entity is a biological organism similar to a tree, and the killers/survivors are the nutrients feeding its roots as it tries to grow strong enough to break into our realm.

·   It doesn't 'watch' like an animal would, and isn't generally aware of what is going on outside of trials. Trials are also one of the only times it 'speaks' coherent thoughts to the killers. Even then, it is less like it is talking to them, and more like they are experiencing what it is feeling, with great clarity.

·   Both the survivors and killers are so far beneath it, it doesn’t pay any attention as long as they are performing trials, and not doing anything outside of them to jeopardize the emotional payoff during them. i.e. a killer attacking the campfire area in between trials would get punished, because if the survivors don't have a safe spot, how would they hold onto their hope? Killers can still make it to that area, however.

·   It has so many pockets under its control, a person or two wandering through realms they have no business being in, or talking to people they have no business talking to doesn't even blip its radar. Even if it were to notice something happening, it isn't thinking critically about the situation, and if it's not something that requires immediate intervention, it won't react or remember.

·   It's possible to draw its attention to you, but it requires a large amount of strong emotion that is VERY noticeable, from a group of people, and out of the ordinary.

It makes me wonder if both goverments have been acting like this for a long time, and got away with it because there WEREN'T any eyes on them? It's only in the last 10-15 years that technology has spread to the point that huge chunks of the population have internet access/smart phones, but before that, who is going to look when there is nothing to see?

So nowadays we've got a disproportionate amount of wealthy older white men(a demographic stereotypically out of touch with technology and the reach of the internet) in charge that are making decisions like they always have(insert all the shit both countries have done since creation here), blissfully unaware (or at least under-estimating) what people can see this time, and how many people are looking.

Also recently been very sad about this, but I've reached the Las Vegas part of Horizon FW, and cannot help feel like the art teams went OFF with the most incredibly, DEEPLY considered design directions & then executed them flawlessly, while the writers just??? Idk, tapped copy+paste a bunch and called it a day?

If this is just the nostalgia filter talking, someome tell me, but like?? As one example: Yes I KNOW that the Utaru each carry a pouch of seeds from birth SURE you could argue that it's just their culture 2 b nice & they want Aloy to understand, but on the flipside *I* as the player was rolling my eyes by the 4th(and not final!) time I encountered a slightly scrambled version of the SAME FEW LINES across different quests. And there are more examples that I'm not going to list right now (procrastinating on other tasks), but I do not remember this happening near as badly in the first game! The world seems... shallower, this time around.

Are they thinking that they have to write for players that will not bother to clear all of the missions? It feels cheap to prioritize that demographic, were they maybe meddled with by people paid more than them, in the interest of greed? Were they simply not given enough time? I have no idea, but it makes the pit drop out of my stomach a bit, to keep finding all these small disappointments in a game that I've been looking forward to for years. :( :( :(

Search function with a functional!, advanced filter-system (in addition to standard search filters like date/complex tags/MA warning etc) that allows for:

▪︎excluding certain blogs from the results (does not require me to block someone whom I might otherwise enjoy seeing more opinions from, but unfortunately hate their art and it dominates a tag)

▪︎being able to save complex searches with multiple filters, to select as presets later

▪︎the ability to, as you scroll down through a tag, mark your place somehow in a way that lets you return to that place again when you return to the same tag. This would be especially nice with a functional, chronological search system because it would finally be fun and easy to get at some of the 2010s era fandom art that I KNOW is still on here just VERY difficult to find without a high degree of luck

Folks, what kind of features do you wish Tumblr would have and it doesn't?

Apart from replicating the Tumblr experience (to a point) I would also love to add some extras

Playing Horizon: Forbidden West for the first time (I KNOW), wizard high, and CANNOT STOP MARVELING at the insane Utaru basket-woven buildings & floors & furniture.

I had no idea before today that that was an architectural feature that I could aspire to having IRL, it's simply gorgeous

Nothing quite like learning to use a full-sized mig welding gun to expose just how weak "being on that phone all the time" actually makes your grip strength XoX

I'm stuck at the back of the class atm (along w/ one other girl), struggling to pass laying consistent beads in the overhead position i.e. reaching up and welding straight lines with liquid metal on a piece of steel that is literally suspended above head height. I was able to pass the other positions because you can compensate with stronger muscles like biceps, but overhead says nah to that. Only full-palm squeeze + finger manipulation on the gun, with shoulder + lower back to pull it towards you will work (if you and your arms are short OTL), and I am simply not buff like that yet.

At least i'm having enough fun learning, that it balances out these early frustrations! The build I need to succeed will come with time 'n practice, just gotta keep at it
