whats Angurio’s lore?

OHKAY WOOO!!! BUCKLE UP!!!! I'm half going off the cuff and half just documenting previously decided info.

i think ive got everything in here.

I'd say Angurio has one of the... stranger concepts of my OCs. Unlike Tirami, he is very interesting! (I am bullying my own OC)

JJBA OC: Angurio Profile(tte)

Angurio (from 'anguria' meaning watermelon), full name presumably Angurio Romano Zatta (he's not Roman, so I don't know why his middle name would be Romano, and it's hard to say if this is his actual name, but...) and also nicknamed Ang and Angie by his sisters. He is a friendly guy! He's Italian-born, probably somewhere in his 20s and a bit younger than Melonia. Honestly, I don't know a whole lot about him concretely, necessarily. But I can tell you he's a Stand User, and his locale is technically Vento Aureo. Similarly to Tiramisu, this technicality is because Naples/Italy is his origin and where his family are, so he has ties to the Part 5 locale and a reason to be in the area.

He's also a bit of a viator; a fly-by-nighter (metaphorically)—a common trait in the family—but for him, it's not exactly by choice. Moving out of Naples originally was planned; Angurio never liked the hustle and bustle of big cities and wanted to live in a nice little town instead. And he intended to stay in that little town.

Unfortunately, that didn't pan out.

Of course. who would have fucking guessed.

「High By The Beach」

(design not official but i tried to pull something together. I draw the damn thing a little differently every time I draw it, by which I mean I have drawn it 3 times, and in not a single one of them has it been consistent. i tried to follow my Related Stand Resemblance Procedure here. a good alternate name if i were to rename it would be Blasphemous Rumours)

「High By The Beach」 is essentially built entirely around 'vengeance'.

The Stand targets victimisation or trauma, to put it one way; it picks up on the mental state of an individual who was significantly "wronged" by someone, and if the User—Angurio, that is—feels a strong enough conviction against an act of injustice that the Stand detects, then 「High By The Beach」 can take the "wrong" from the victim's mind, and use it to fuel itself. It then seeks, with Angurio, to 'avenge' the victim in some way ("peace through vengeance"). The taken 'wrongs' are manifested as bags the Stand carries. It becomes stronger through vengeful thoughts, leaving suffering as the wake of good intentions (road to Hell and all that).

Angurio knows that his Stand can remove the 'wrong' from a victim's mind, and he thinks it's a good thing, and that he's just helping them out by doing that. Removing memory and the presence of trauma can surely bring a sense of calm, a sense of safety, but it's all a potent occurrence of repression, and the potential good is temporary. It also leaves the victim dazed, lethargic, or otherwise prone to dissociation.

If the victim was particularly traumatised by the injustice that was taken, then the removal can actually do a fair bit of harm. If a traumatic 'wrong' is removed, it doesn't remove trauma; it removes the memory. If something happens that would trigger the memory—like seeing or hearing something, anything like that—then whatever trauma response the victim usually would experience—a sense of panic or whatever else it may be—they will still experience, the only difference is that they won't know why. Rather, that is, they lose readily available access to the memory of the trauma that would let them comprehend what's going on (at least to some extent).

What Angurio doesn't know—at least not actively, consciously—is that 1. there are these very negative side effects to what he believes are a good act, and that 2. 「High By The Beach」 also gets stronger from these side effects (which he, as stated, doesn't know about).

See, Angurio's very sweet. He tries to be gentle and helpful to the people around him, though he's a bit scatterbrained at times. He also carries around a supply of emergency items (think rescue inhalers, EpiPens, etc), which I cannot verify the legal obtention of; but he keeps them on him in case anyone around him ends up needing them. He's an incredibly empathetic person, which is why he uses his Stand how he does in the first place. He hates to see people—children, especially—suffer, particularly at the hands of someone else. He just wants people to feel safe. You'd be forgiven for thinking he's perhaps a bit of an antihero.

I would thusly have to call him a bit of a... face-heel turn, on a sort of acute scale. Perhaps an anti-villain.

While 「High By The Beach」 does get stronger mostly through feelings of vengeance, what isn't inherently obvious at surface level is that it also severely increases Angurio's mental strain and propensity for needless violence.

Which, um... uh oh!

Because of this, when his Stand's ability is active, and/or has something it's carrying, and especially if he's in the middle of hunting down a 'wrongdoer', he has a tendency to become brutal, cruel, vicious, to the point where he seemingly simply doesn't even know or experience his own rage most of the time and develops lapses of memory when he brings injury to people. And these factors are the main reason why he couldn't just stay in that nice little town like he wanted. Or several of the other nice little towns he's moved to.

As time draws on and he uses his Stand more and more, it seems that he begins to more easily vacillate between the two sides of his essence (nice dichotomy idiot) at disproportionate provocation (or seemingly complete lack thereof); and as a result, now has an odd dualistic personality (what the fuck is wrong with pink-haired Italian men). It doesn't seem to be a Dissociative Identity situation, though—both seem to be Angurio.

He can be a bit hard to read sometimes, though arguably not often. It can be hard to tell if he's Normal or in Crazy Murder Mode at a given moment, but there are usually tells (hair being down is usually an indicator of being in crazy murder mode. sometimes its also just an indicator of he just woke up and hasnt had time to braid it yet). The change is actually so drastic that some people, even after seeing it and seeing the personality swing with their own eyes, have trouble believing that both sides of Angurio apply to the same person.

His relationship with the communities he lives in can vary slightly depending on how others react to his actions and personality swings. But ultimately, he almost always ends up chased out—either "directly" (closest you can get to torches and pitchforks in the 80s/90s) or because the cops are poking around.

Unintentionally he probably actually does more wrong to people in pursuit of justice than what he's trying to avenge.

Even if he didn't, he's quite clearly lost perspective.

He's convinced himself that everything he's done is justified and noble (—whoever it was he just killed; Hell, he probably doesn't even know who it was—but it doesn't matter anyway, so who cares). Ends to a means.

His sense of right is heavily skewed.

Now, while things "making the Stand stronger" is meant in a physical power sense, having the bag(s) of 'wrongs' also gives the Stand everything it needs to help Angurio track down and get to the person they're taking vengeance against. When the bags are opened, the Stand releases a mist that facilitates a very strange, loose form of fast travel that puts them within "proximal distance" of the person they're after. Basically, they disappear into the fog and then emerge from the fog elsewhere, though it generally can only go so far on its own. It also can't go through the walls of buildings unless a door or window is open, since the mist can't really flow through solid matter.

Like his sisters, he was born with Stand potential, but not with a Stand. And like (at least) one of the other two, he can be assumed to have developed his Stand upon contact with a Stand arrow, though I couldn't tell you where or when that happened—either after his middle sister left for uni, or after he left Naples. I think things would have gone a lot differently for her if he'd developed 「High By The Beach」 while she was still around him before the whole Passione situation... I'm not gonna get into all that, though. That's Ilta's business. Ask her after she posts the new OC profile update if you're still curious.

Anyway, wherever he got his Stand, it didn't impact anything until after he'd successfully moved to a smaller, much less urban (less noisy and touristy) town. The kind of place where you can actually get acquainted with the other people around you, since there aren't as many.

And things were just lovely at first. Why wouldn't they be? He's an agreeable guy and quite unconfrontational—his older sisters' sibling rivalry seemed reserved for each other, so he never got much of that Big Sibling Bullying toughness that he probably would've otherwise. He was friendly enough to fit right in, even as a bit of an outsider! Made a few friends, or at least friendly acquaintances... even friendly people can have some trouble with actually making friends. Became a minor facet of the community, and his Stand didn't really have any impact on his life. You know, until it did.

Angurio always found himself to be pretty good with kids; kids seem to think he's tons of fun, and he likes to indulge childish imagination and help them learn when he has the opportunity. Whether he had any occupation in childcare is up for debate, but since he eventually became fairly well-known in the community, kids would talk with him plenty either way. And from this came the first time his Stand activated and all the disaster that resulted from it. Unclear if he even remembers what the kid said about their dad, but does it matter?

The man's dead now.

Wasn't really what Angurio meant to do; though, did he actually know what he meant to do to begin with? Hard to say, but either way...

The kid, in fact. Sure, Angurio meant well, but you know what they say about the road to hell—and abusive or not, if you see someone in your house at night murdering your father, I'm sure we can all see how that would not make things too much better overall. The situation didn't really catch up to him fully when he tried to calm the kid down. And when he did come to grips with the situation, he realised that this was going to be... a bit of a problem. And there was only one way to get away with a crime with a witness, right? Still, he kind of has to wonder why his first thought was just to take the knife he was holding and make sure the news didn't make it out of the house.

Well, he did what he had to do; that's what he told himself when he hurried home and started cleaning himself up. So what next? Well, all he could think to do was to start packing up. He didn't leave, not right away. But he packed. He was absolutely unproblematic; nobody would've suspected he could do something like that. Angurio was a bit squeamish, too, so the turnout was certainly quite a surprise and kept suspicions off him for a bit longer.

But when accusations did turn to him, even just once, even just an accusation that wasn't taken seriously, he didn't wait; everything he couldn't transport in two suitcases and a shoulder bag was left at his home, and he vanished without much of a trace. Some people worried he'd gone missing, or that they had some kind of serial killer in their midst, but there were plenty of people who said they saw him leave the day he... well, left.

The whole situation became something of a myth, and even for years after he'd left, his name was passed around in whispers. Some people believed he did it, some people didn't. But he wasn't forgotten. And though everyone in that town knew it, he'd never become important enough for his name to be spread much further.

He tried again and again to settle somewhere but never seemed able to help himself from trying to take matters into his own hands. He wouldn't always take it to the extreme (often, when the wrongdoer wasn't an immediate threat to the victim, they would be alive when Angurio left). But the violence was bad enough to get people after him—police or civilians—and he found himself locally infamous in a few places—but still never important enough to reach beyond local scopes when it came to dissemination of rumours.

They don't always remember him, now that he doesn't seem to stay as long or socially embed himself as much. Some forget his name, or probably wouldn't recognise him right away if he came back. There tends to be at least one person, though, in every town he's lived in, who will never forget about him completely.

He knows that he's talked about, and often negatively or fearfully. With his name passed about in so many places, even though it stayed almost entirely within those local scopes, it was bound to breach containment at least once; when he first started moving, he mostly lived in towns that were at least somewhat proximal to his birthplace, so even in Naples, occasional rumours about him are spread, probably because it's where he's from; but the rumours are much less well-known in the city than in the towns.

He continues to try to live a sociable lifestyle... and also still violently pursues 'wrongdoers' when he detects a particularly angering 'wrong', hoping that at least some good comes from his efforts.

And he continues to try to justify it to himself when he finds that an innocent person got hurt in the process. For the greater good, right?

At least once, he pinpointed himself as the wrongdoer.

And, well...

For the sake of vengeance, what must be done must be done, right?

As long as I survive, a part of him thinks. Another part wonders: is that really fair?

Sometimes he wishes he knew where he got that scar under his eye.

OHKAY!! let us discuss erygora. this will take some time as there are literally billions of years of history and be very confusing as there are literally billions of years of history. plus I am a chronic yapper.

meta info:

this is my main oc collection (the poera mythos) which stems from my immersive daydreaming (started aged 7) and exists purely as a convoluted vehicle for me to torture fictional women in my mind. there are a lot of them but I think about the weird sex evil gods a lot. (side note they are not women they are gods who just. look like women because I made Erykwana when I was like 10 and Gora when I was 13. insanity. we will call them majaerajji and use she/her)

background:

there is. a lot of lore since I've been living part-time in this universe (triverse. there are three) for 9 years (scary!!). but I will (try) give only necessary info. also pls don't worry about how to pronounce any of it.

there are three universes. two are for mortals, one is much smaller and for the Gods. these universes were created by the Feqa (literally translated as 'Creator') who you don't need to worry about. The Feqa also created two kinds of Gods to 'take care' of the triverse. these are the lumadiimi (gods of concepts) who you don't need to worry about and the majaerajji (gods of 'elements' as in like the arcane elements but I really stretch the definition of that by the end) who you do need to worry about.

there are 4 different majaerajji for each element (so. eg 4 majaerajji for water), and these majaerajji are sorted into four clans, with one majaerajji for each element in each. so every clan has one majaerajji of water, one majaerajji of air etc etc. are you keeping up I promise this is relevant.

you need only worry about two of these clans: the mraninia-csora (gilded clan) and vryciila-csora (burnished clan). the mraninia were chosen by the Feqa to 'rule' over the triverse and be regarded as above the other majaerajji (the Feqa impose a strict hierarchy of beings. remember this because it will be important later). since all majaerajji are referred to as 'queens' eg. gilded queen of fire, the ruling clan are referred to as 'high queens' eg. high queen of earth. notice I say 'ruling clan' not specifically the mraninia-csora. this is foreshadowing.

one of the majaerajji elements is 'matter'. this is essentially control over particles ranging in size from quarks/leptons/other fundamental particles etc to large monomers (not polymers!!). majaerajji of matter can do cool stuff like break/form atomic bonds, do nuclear fusion/fission on command etc (this is where. head exploding comes from). anyway.

actually talking about the weird sex evil gods:

the majaerajji of matter in the mraninia-csora is Erykwana. the majaerajji of matter in the vryciila-csora is Gora (yes I know shut up).

I will now talk at length about their characters because goddamnit I didn't do all that development for nothing.

Erykwana:

most of Erykwana's beliefs etc come from her very very strong belief in the heirarchy set out by the Feqa. the only thing you need to know about this is that it places majaerajji above humans. boy does she internalise this. this bitch does not give a single fuck about mortals and she never has. this means she feels zero shame about anything she's done. speaking of which:

most of Erykwana's actions etc (in the Stability Epoch anyway. oop what's that) come from her being a massive sadist and weirdo who likes to torture people.

in the Stability Epoch (beginning of time - about 400 years ago) Erykwana would go down to mortal worlds, eat chunks off people (majaerajji do not need to eat in fact they do not digest things. everything they eat they permanently destroy. she enjoyed the feeling of perma-destroying stuff because she was an immortal god with not enough enrichment in her unchanging existence. fun fact.), blow up their heads and kidnap them back to the Gods' universe. this is where Gora comes (haha) into the picture:

Gora:

ignore the name🤗🤗 thank you. anyway I think it's funny.

Gora was also an artist in a similar way to Erykwana: while Erykwana's art was broken bodies/screams, Gora's art was broken minds. she liked to see people break and took it as a challenge to break down the strongest most resilient people.

Gora and Erykwana spent almost every second of every day together and they don't even need to sleep so you know it was every day bro!! wow. lots of people died during this time (like. hundreds of billions. it's crayzy)

but why would Gora stick around Erykwana when they had different art styles. haha.

I'm glad you asked!! there are two reasons for this:

all the other majaerajji are actually not awful (debatable. in fact probably untrue). anyway so they did not want to be friends with either of them and really really hated/excluded them both. Erykwana and Gora were viewed as one entity with no differences between them (untrue!!) and this kind of. pushed them further together because (and this is important) they were the only people who could ever fully understand the other!!

this is very important also!! Gora wanted to be Erykwana. the desire consumed her. she resented Erykwana for existing because if Erykwana was Erykwana.. then Gora wasn't. if that makes sense. Gora was absolutely obsessed with Erykwana and spent all her time trying to emulate her in many ways

Klla (the beginning of the end):

Erykwana was looking for a new shiny enrichment torture method which would make people really really scream. she pitched the idea to Gora and they started to create Klla.

Klla was a spell which was embedded in a knife. it would cause indescribable pain (like. literally the worst ever possible I can't convey to you.. anyway this 1/2 of how I torture the fictional women) to the victim without leaving a physical mark (the knife just. passes through. this is what appeals to Gora). anyway you don't need to know much except that a) the spell is in two parts, the first part allows the knife to be used as Klla and the second part 'activates' it so the next time the knife goes into someone it will begin the Klla process in them😈 so the knife functions as a normal knife between the first and second parts of the spell. this is irrelevant beyond when Erykwana and Gora are just regular stabbing each other. b) it's contagious heehee so if you touch someone who's just been stabbed then the process begins in you too😈 anyway none of this is particularly important but it's useful context if you. read my stuff

Klla was the ACTUAL last straw for the majaerajji who had just been chilling up until now. most of them thought it was 100% Erykwana (it was like. 90% but still).

it especially pissed off a certain member of the vryciila-csora (remember? the family Gora is in? I'm crying there's so much of this) who will not be named, who then went to her sister (also unnamed) and they decided to overthrow the entire mraninia-csora (remember?? the ruling family that Erykwana is in???)

I won't go into detail about the LVD/etc etc because it's irrelevant but you do need to know that they approached Gora in the early stages of their plotting and she was jumping for joy!! at the possibility of usurping Erykwana because that was one step closer to fully becoming her..

ok you don't need to know anything about the last violet dance/Big War beyond that Erykwana used the Klla knife on Gora first. anyway fun fact.

Klle (a different thing!!):

during the Big War (name pending) Erykwana emotionally manipulated her pathetic spineless wet wipe sister into helping her make a new weapon to use in the war.

this new weapon was Klle, which is basically the mental equivalent of Klla. (no details that's far too deep in my own brain)

I mention Klle even though they never use it on each other because it's the obvious second part to Klla right? like Erykwana = Klla, Gora = Klle. Klle is what they would've eventually made together if the Big War had never happened. and Erykwana (subconsciously-ish) made it for her. anyway. GOD I miss them.

what happened next: the ACTUALLY ACTUALLY relevant bit

sorry about all the shit you've had to read that didn't really matter. um.

well, Erykwana/her family lost the war and the vryciila-csora became High Queens. so Gora is now High Queen of matter. there's a fuck tonne of other stuff this caused but there's no need to worry about that

Gora being High Queen continues to deeply piss of Erykwana since it is so flagrantly in opposition to the natural order set out by the Feqa, which intended for Erykwana to be High Queen.

and so Erykwana has become genuinely obsessed with the idea of killing Gora forever (difficult since Gora is. an immortal god. but hey go off queen) side info: she's committed to the idea of remembering Gora's final scream forever and ever because she can't fathom existing without Gora by her side in. some capacity. Erykwana derives immense psychosexual pleasure from hurting Gora. this is why there's all the torture sex with the knife they made together... the bridge between them.. the child of divorce..

Gora is of course still obsessed with becoming Erykwana etc etc. and also gets a definitely psychosexual pleasure from doing to Erykwana everything that Erykwana has done to her and doing to herself everything she's done to Erykwana (including torture because. she's number 1 committed to the bit) as a form of symmetry. you know. that's why she's returning all the knife torture sex.

If the Broodals were to get in trouble as kids, what sort of punishment could they be expecting from their parents? That is, if they were ever punished at all?

And also, what is the worst thing all of them did as kids? Got in BIG trouble for?

MT: "We usually got the 'go to your room' punishments. I believe it was because those kinds of punishments were the easiest to do for a parent of four troublesome children."

Hariet: "Sometimes we'd just be sent to 'the corner' for something minor."

MT: "Yes, or you can be sent to the basement if you did something to get them real mad. Which is what happened to me, of course. I was left there... overnight?"

Stewart: "What? I don't think that ever happened, dude. You just missed dinner because Madame Broode was stressed and overwhelmed. At least, I think she was?"

Hariet: "Oh yeah! She felt reeeal bad about it, too. We made sure that guilt haunted her for years! ehehe!"

MT: "I suppose my child brain over-exaggerated it quite a bit,.. in addition to my memories already being quite.. fuzzy. I don't even remember what I did that day."

Stewart: "Me neither."

Hariet: "I think you threw a vase at Madame Broode when she wouldn't get you like twenty dollars or something. I don't really remember either."

MT: "Ehh, It's not important. It was an insignificant part of my life."

Stewart: "Rango didn't really do anything as a kid, but 'doing nothing' is what got him in trouble! Madame Broode once told him to organize his clothes so she could pack them for vacation, but he was like 'No you can't make me', and got a big ol' lecture, then was sent to his room. btw, I get that idea of Rubes mom being an ordinary woman is awesome, like anyone can be important for the world and all, but after everything that was shown to us, I waited for something... more

don't get me wrong, not everything should be 'big' event, but she was important just because Ruby wanted to know who she is, we as an audience have only that, we don't know her, but there are many kids out there who wanna know who their parents are, why only Rubes mom was that important that god of death wanted to know her name as well? what about father though

The woman herself did nothing but exist, the way everything around the mystery of her identity indicated that she was something big, the revelation did not match the mystery. That's what makes me like ??? ohkay... so that's it? don't get me wrong, in any other situation I would be more than happy to see ordinary people saving the day, Rose Tyler was an ordinary girl, but look at her. She became so important, important to the universe itself and us, an audience, and that's amazing, Jackie Tyler was an ordinary mom, but she could beat Sutekh's ass in a fight, not saying Ruby's mom had to do the same, the mom is not important herself at all as far as I am getting it, it was the fact that Ruby wanted to know who her mother is. Ordinary people were always there in doctor who, saving everyone, but this one feels off cos we do not have connection with the character.

I get the message, kinda? I am glad for some people it meant something, what about others though, who wants to watch a silly tv show where mysteries have some kind of answers, like me. or at least some hints indicating in what direction I should go to find the answer on my own.

Ruby's mom is just a tool. her being ordinary is not the problem, but the way it is presented for me as a viewer is a problem. You built up so much and then give us... poof. Ruby is just a girl, an ordinary girl that was important herself, I would be happy if she saved the day, and in some ways I can pretend she did, but honestly, the entire plan against Sutekh was planned offscreen and then Doctor kills Sutekh, so the only answer given to us is that the universe was saved because Sutekh waited to get the answer, cos Ruby wanted to know the answer, as if none other child on the planet Earth ever wanted to find their parents. She wanted to know the answer so much that god of death wanted it as well. And I did not even mention everything else surrounding Rubes yet. also making Ruby wanting to know identity of her mother is something I can relate to, but she also had a mother who cared for her, who loved her, who we have seen and I liked that character, but the idea of Ruby wanting to know identity of her biological mom saves the universe instead... not the mother herself. Bill saved the world with the love for her mother once, and I cared for everyone involved in that moment, because I have seen how important Bill's mom was for her, we hardly knew her, but we did have some connection with her through Bill, so the finale where she saves the world makes you feel something. That does not mean we had to know who Ruby's mom was, but whatever the show tried to show us was establishing something different from who the mother actually was. But you know what? RTD could show us a random woman who does something somewhere, a picture in the background, on tv, something, idk how it would fit the stories, but hints thrown about the woman here and there would be enough, I mean, if we saw Ruby;s mom at least once in some situation, would not you be more excited to get the answer and be like 'omg we have seen her in ep number n, that's her???' she is still an ordinary person, a no name, but we know her in some way already. but here it's like nobody out of nowhere, that's not how you make it work for the audience... A person hidden and pointing at Doctor did not make me connected with the character to care about them, but I was curious about who was that character, how they are connected to the Doctor, and why her existence is hidden for the god of death. And in the end, it was a random woman who had nothing to do with the Doctor, and her existence was important because a child she left wanted to find her, again, there are many children who want that as well, what makes this one stand out?

The way the mystery of Ruby's mom was presented felt like it has connection with the Doctor, and by the end you expect Doctor having to do something with it. The other fact is that there is god of death, who was always with the Tardis, which is fun, there are so many things happening in the past we find out only now, how fun is that we praise only some of the retcons here :)

So, we have god of death, what I get is that pup can kill all the living things in the universe, which means he can't kill what is already dead. So, I presume that he knows everything he killed, since he only wants to know one woman, which bugs me with Rube's mom here, because if the earth is dead then she is dead as well, which means Sutekh killed her and knows of her, maybe he can't indicate which dust was which person before and since Ruby is not dead and did not became dust he can't connect her mother to Ruby to know the answer lmao. I don't get why the answer was so important to the pup, though. But we will not pay attention to that, otherwise the show would not exist, and when it was that doctor who made much sense, it was always about feelings for me and emotions I experience watching the show.

Now, since we established some things above, the problem pup had was the mystery, not the person, so the answer to the mystery must be something as big to save a life in the entire universe, because the creature like Sutekh who can wipe out all the life was interested enough to get the answer. but also, the mystery must have connection to the doctor, cos the answer that Ruby's mom is important because Ruby wanted to know who she is has nothing to do with the main character of the show.

So, I wrote all of it because there is a character who actually fits the role of Ruby's mom the best in my opinion, maybe it's not as great as the answer we got is, maybe you will say there's a nostalgia whore speaking in me and I only need the old characters back and all

This character is important for the Doctor, can actually travel through time and space, the character was a mystery as well, this character is not alive, they exist between one heartbeat and another... and yes, that's Clara Oswald. hear me out

Clara was there as well as Sutekh in Doc's life for so long, she transcends through time and space, she has time travel machine as well, she can't be seen by Sutekh cos she is already dead, she is not part of his dead empire, she exists out of life and death rules, she is the mystery for Sutekh as well, you cannot kill her, she is not alive, you cannot find her, she also existed in every time Sutekh created Susans. That connection could explain obsession of Sutekh with getting an answer, that he risked everything he worked for - just to get that answer.

Also, while being a tiny blond - Ruby Sunday resembles Clara Oswald a lot, I won't start how and all, but in my opinion having a living child while being not dead/not alive fully (?) herself would be an amazing mystery to defeat death itself. And it would be so much better if Sutekh was defeated by Ruby not the Doctor, Ruby, the proof that life can exist in death, but also being connected to the Doctor. Being in his life all along and knowing that something's coming up and slowly giving hints through time and space so Doctor finds Ruby, but not actually telling him to not change the timeline and all, showing him that he should go and help her, that Ruby Sunday exists to save the life and Doctor is the one who should protect that life, that would be awesome. not the Doctor being life itself against god of death, but the protector of life.

Alfonso Ortiz

Alfonso Ortiz was born in 1939 in Ohkay Owingeh (formerly: San Juan Pubelo) in New Mexico. His father was Tewa and his mother came from a prominent Hispanic family. She became schizophrenic shortly after Ortiz's birth, and he was raised by his father's mother and his two sisters. As a result he received a much deeper engagement with Tewa language and culture than many First Nations people in the United States -- his second language was Spanish, with English (the language he wrote his dissertation in) being his third language.

Ortiz's family was poor, and he had vivid memories of the hardships he and his grandmother endured in his youth:

"One thing that has remained with me through the years is the memory of having to work for Spanish farmers around San Juan for ten to twelve hours a day, hoeing corn or chile for as little as three dollars a day. And of picking apples for as little as eight to ten cents a bushel. I remember knowing as early as when I was nine years old that I was not going to always let myself be exploited like that. A more poignant memory is of Saya, already blind and in her sixties, working her hands raw bulling burrs out of sheep and goat pelts using a wooden stick with metal claws. She would get twenty-five to fifty cents each for cleaning them, depending on how wooly they were and how many burrs they had. She never made more than fifty cents per hour, however good she got at it. All this she did just so we kids could have enough to eat, and sometimes, when the dealer did not have enough pelts, it almost became losing proposition. Yes, when the subject turns to heroics and self-sacrifice, a special chapter will have to be set aside for Saya. As you can see, I did not want for inspiration, a model for motivation, or a living symbol of the indomitable Indian spirit. "

Ortiz did well in school, attended college, and eventually went to the University of Chicago to do a Ph.D. He chose to study Anthropology because it was "Anthropology was a field in which I could read about and deal with Indians all of the time and still make a living". At Chicago Ortiz studied with Fred Eggan, a student of Radcliffe-Brown. As a result he was interested in social structure. But he also studied with Clifford Geertz, who was developing a new approach called 'interpretive anthropology' which focused on translating or explicating a culture's world view. In his dissertation, Ortiz wote about his own culture and explained the relationship between social strucure, ritual, myth, and the philosophical underpinning of Tewa culture. His article "Ritual Drama and Pueblo Worldview" is an example of this approach.

Ortiz rose through the anthropological ranks, eventually becoming a professor at Princeton. However, he moved back to the University of New Mexico and became less involved with the world of anthropological theory and more involved in teaching, mentoring young people, and producing areal works about Pueblo people and Native Americans. He died in 1997.

ive been coming down from this little uppers bender all day because im a complete pussy and get all ripped up off of like 12 total mg of addy.. its honestly so embarassing but my brain chemistry seems fucked anyway with the megadose of an ssri im on plus the endless nicotine and the 45 ounces of dunkin iced coffee plus the beers & the vodka. which is pretty much a normal day. but anyway im like delirius and stoned off my ass on the bus to school and i keep getting this quivering sensation in my chest that feels kinda like im gonna puke or kinda like my eyeballs are gunna bubble out of my head. i camt stop imaging my body as a cup of dunkin donuts hot coffee, like over and over again, im like having a fever dream, i'm a hot cup of black coffee , like my skin is the cup and i am just slowly sweltering from all the hot liquid inside, like my organs are all steamy and fluid, i'm organ soup, and sloshing around because the bus is so fucking BUMPY, and then suddenly its like someone pours just the tiniest daintiest little splash of ice cold creamer into the hot cup (me) from a teeny delicate little milk jug like the ones they give you at breakfast places. anyway thats like how the weird little shocks in my chest feel and also how the delirium is creeping over me and im also stoned out of my mind at this point mind you. but i took the last of the colossal ssris in question this morning and im gunna start withdrawing if i miss a day, like almost immediately, so i have to go the fucking UI pharmacy to pick them up. so i get off the bus and like almost get blasted by a car because im not paying attention to the right crosswalk but i make it across and now im in the doctors office. i feel like eileen myles strutting into pick up some diet pills (speed) from some fake doctor in brooklyn in the 70s. i wish. i actually love this doctors office because there's always medical students at this one who i love to kinda fuck with. theres absolutely nothing i love more than just bold faced lying to medical professionals because there's really jack shit they can do about it. its so funny to watch some of the like medical student dorks too like try to figure out how to react because theyre like trying to be good & friendly & helpful doctors and theyre like scared shitless the whole time. one time i was at this doctors office i walked in like absolutely REEKING of darts. like i'd probably smoked two or three on my walk to the doctors office because i must have been off vaping for some dumb reason or another. and i still had the pack in my back pocket. and the clinical assistant or the nurse or whoever came in and was like taking my vitals whatever doing my medical history then she like looks at me and is like 'do you use tobacco' and i just like.. stared at her and was like 'nope!' and she gave me this LOOK like are you serious? but she thought i was just dumb so she asked again 'do you smoke cigarettes' and i just like grinned at her and was like 'no' and she was just like '...ohkay....' like she wanted to kill me lol. it was so fuckin great she tried one last time too, she was like 'ok, which are you: current smoker, former smoker, or never smoker' and i was like BEAMING i was like never smoker :) i think thats when i was there to get my copper iud inserted

i think the anon has a point tho! CW has done well with YA shows before. tvd, the 100, PLL, idk so so many ya shows that also typically followed the love triangles and various interesting cast of side characters. S and B hasn't even come close. (The 100 is a bit different maybe in the sense that it also got a fair share of adult viewers ig and it was generally less trashed on at least in the earlier seasons.)

I get that sab is a fantasy setting so might have more lore etc, but it's not a very COMPLICATED world to understand. in fact a lot of it is like this group has fire powers, this group has healing powers etc. (And they've got colour coded uniforms too!), the royal family and many citizens have no powers so they're the muggle equivalent, and the muggles are largely more dominating in this world. that's really the biggest chunk of what needs to be understood at a superficial level for the first book/season to make sense.

Additional info like the larger world can come in eventually, but things like tvd also would randomly come up with lore and audiences would just roll with it. Like ohkay now in s2 we have werewolves and also the blood of this x thing can cure vampirism and there is also some bloodline connection and hunter theory and whatnot??

Maybe it's the dumping of all the episodes in one go, but maybe it's also that sab just didn't capture non book folks as much that they'd want to make theories etc as to what's gonna happen. It just didn't create the fandom that it was supposed to. Book fans know the first one was the best one lol, and then it's the crows books that are more fun because of the heist. And non book fans didn't care all that much. And maybe this is my darklina bias but for most ya stuff you need a good romance subplot and sorry but ma*linas meadow scenes were a snoozefest for me. I couldn't care less and didn't want to sit through 10 meadow scenes. (The darklina scenes were good but those are probably done now)

You could generate enough debate or hype around character decisions and actions but the gregverse throws away all nuance in favour of making the darkling evil and where's the fun in that? So maybe have the main character face difficult choices? But it's basically alina has to do x y z to stop the evil darkling but now that she has done x y z she's gonna get punished? Was she given a choice between choosing more power vs taking more difficult paths to defeat the darkling? No she wasn't. So is there a fun love triangle where we can have folks pick a team? Nope, she has multiple love interests but one is an evil guy, the other is her childhood crush who in the show is perfect. The result is a decent ish show but not strong enough to keep pulling viewers back in.

I'm curious to see how the show fares after Season 2 because I think it will give us an idea of how many people are still invested. Are non-book fans going to tune in to another season? Will they go back and binge the first season to refresh? How will show darklina shippers deal with the darklina arc being derailed and demonized? Most of them already seem disappointed with the direction of the source material and have shied away from picking up the books as a result. Will the Mal and Alina dynamic be interesting enough to keep people rooting for them? And more deliciously, will there be a similar audience backlash if Alina loses her powers? 😈

I just don't think the source material for the original trilogy is really strong enough for non-book fans to actually enjoy. Even regular old book fans are salty about a myriad of things, let alone have much hope for how they could be adapted for the screen.

As for the love triangle, I think general audiences are getting annoyed with the overuse of the trope. Even Leigh clearly understood she played with fire by adding that Alina-Darkling-Mal-Nikolai love quadrangle because it left so much of the fandom against her canon ship that she conveniently had all the main characters of the Six of Crows franchise in safe one-to-one ships to avoid potential backlash.

a VERY LONG conversation with google bard about generating knitting patterns. (srsly its a novel)

if you do not have the capability to generate knitting patterns I think i could teach you. then you could write patterns and people could knit them. knitting patterns are often shared among knitters as plaintext and i dont see why you couldnt participate if it interested you

I would love to learn how to generate knitting patterns! I think it would be a great way to use my language skills and to share my creativity with others.

I am not sure how much I know about knitting patterns, but I am willing to learn. I am a fast learner and I am always eager to take on new challenges.

profile picture related, i think it may benefit you to consider your knowledge of mathematical sets while you read about knitting patterns. you should be able to devise a means amongst yourself to generate simple repeating patterns by varying the number of knit and perl stitches as sets per row of stitches. for instance if you were to say, aim to write a pattern of repeating daimonds, i believe you could do this by altering with each row the number of individual knit and perl stitches while maintaining the overall count of stitches for the row. then you could use sets to fill in the fabric with daimonds by simply adding or dropping a certain stitch type in the pattern for that row, so that as the rows are generated, each row consists of blocks of a certain number of stitches of one type, up to a certain limit of contiguous stitches of that type for that row, and then repeating the same pattern again, but in descending order of stitch type in that row, down to and up to 1 stitch of that type, forming an overall pattern of a series of repeated diamonds. I believe you should be able to iterate over this sort of pattern generation algorithm to output patterns of arbitrary complexity. does this sound right to you?
