#oh oh does Munakata still jump out of helicopters to get to cooking competitions

Hi there! Have you done a Shokugeki no Soma AU yet? I'm just trying to imagine everyone battling each other with food XD What kind of food could Fushimi even make and would Awashima still try to put red bean in everything?

AU where the clans are all like clubs at a cooking school and are constantly battling for recipe supremacy. Shizume Academy is known as the birthplace of great chefs and every year a ton of aspiring cooks rush to try and join the school, knowing that those who fail will be kicked out and only the best of the best will reign supreme. The school itself has developed into four factions, the Red, the Blue, the Green and the Silver and they all have different approaches to cooking and different strengths and weaknesses.

The Blue faction would probably be mostly traditional Japanese food, like imagine Munakata making a lot of traditional sweets and sushi and various regional dishes. He's known for his ability to elevate even the most old-fashioned dish and his food almost seems to sparkle when he puts it on the plate. Awashima is his second in command and of course she is the master of red bean paste, she somehow manages to make every food that shouldn't have red bean paste in it taste delicious with added red bean paste. Awashima's known for her elegance in cooking style too, all the other girls in the school look up to her. Fushimi meanwhile is like the guy who shouldn't be able to cook but somehow is able to cook, he's self taught and even though he eats mostly food out of vending machines and hates all vegetables somehow he has the ability to make the most delicious food when he puts his mind to it (also his specialty is being able to cook food without tasting it and somehow it still turns out perfectly seasoned. That and a lot of fancy knife work). Fushimi mixes traditional food with more casual street food due to initially belonging to the Red faction. The rest of the alphabet squad all have varying specialties, like Kamo is a master of sushi and Akiyama and Benzai can do this double cooking thing using matcha and various flavors of tea and pudding.

The Red faction is focused more on street food and casual fare with an emphasis on spiciness, Mikoto probably makes a lot of blazing hot food that only the most daring are willing to try. Munakata and Mikoto have this whole rivalry going on too where Munakata looks down on Mikoto's vulgar hot food and Mikoto rolls his eyes at Munakata's fancy tasteless shit. Kusanagi's known more for his ability to make a lot of bar food and for how clean and skillful his cooking style is, while Totsuka is of course the master of experimentation. Kamamoto's one of the Red clan's biggest secret weapons, he can make masterful curry and no one even realizes that he has such skills. Yata's a jack of all trades and is great at making home-style food though he does have a slight weakness for putting pineapple in everything. He and Fushimi joined the school together and became members of the Red faction until Fushimi betrayed Yata and set his apron on fire before leaving to join the Blues (“there goes your souffle, Misaki”).

For the remaining two factions, Green would probably be the super experimental outside the box guys who believe that all food should be equal and use both cheap and expensive ingredients in tandem. Where the other factions hide their recipes the Greens put them out on the internet and encourage everyone to try them, even if the recipes are experimental and possibly poisonous or dangerous. The Silvers are more focused on simple food done right, Kuroh being their number one chef who wishes to fight honorably on the battlefield of the dinner table. Shiro is the master of rice and Neko has a special gift for handling fish and the three of them are like a happy little unit making dinner in the corner while the Reds and Blues and having their dramatic cooking battles.
