“Auntie Beca?”

“Ah ha?” Beca asked, spinning around in her chair to face four-year-old Sarah who had just wandered into her office. “What’s up?”

“Can you help me with something?”

“Of course, what do you need?”

Sarah pushed some hair out of her face and then handed Beca a piece of pink construction paper. “Can you cut this into a heart please?”

“Uh, sure,” Beca said, taking it from her and glancing around her desk for some scissors. She found some and cut the paper into a heart. “What’s this for?” Beca asked, handing it back. 

“Valentine’s Day,” Sarah said.

“Ohh,” Beca replied, grinning. “In that case who is it for?”

“It’s for Mommy,” Sarah said, as if it should have been obvious. 

“Silly me,” Beca said. “Of course it’s for Mommy.”

“Who are you giving a heart to?”

“Sorry?”

“At school, they said you have to give a heart to your favourite person,” Sarah said. The tone in her voice indicated that this was something very simple that Beca should have known about.

“Ah,” Beca said. “Well, I didn’t make a heart like you did, but I did get something for your Mommy. Would you like to see it?”

“My Mommy is your favourite person?” Sarah asked, head tilted.

“She is,” Beca said. “You and your Mommy are my favourite people.”

“So you got me something too?”

Beca shrugged. “You’ll have to wait and see. Would you like to see what I got her? It has to be a secret though.”

Sarah nodded, pushing her hair out of her face again as got closer to Beca.

Beca reached into her top drawer and pulled out a small box. She opened it to reveal a delicate silver necklace with a small heart at the end of the chain.

It had felt a little cliche to buy heart-shaped jewellery, but this was their first Valentine’s Day as a couple, and Beca wanted to be a little cheesy.

“Do you think she’ll like it?” Beca asked.

“Yes,” Sarah said, nodding definitively. “It’s pretty.”

“It’s far too quiet up here,” Chloe’s voice came from outside the office, her footsteps growing louder as she climbed the stairs.

“Uh oh,” Sarah said, quickly putting the pink heart behind her back as Beca slid the box back into her top drawer.

“What’s going on in here?” Chloe asked, eyebrows raised at the two slightly guilty expressions staring back at her. 

“Nothing,” Beca and Sarah said quickly. 

“What’s that behind your back?” Chloe asked.

“Nothing,” Sarah said again. “Just a surprise.”

“Oh, a surprise? Who for?” Chloe asked, trying not to grin. 

“Uhh,” Sarah turned around to look at Beca who shrugged. “I can’t tell you. Auntie Beca has a surprise too, but she can’t tell you either because it’s a secret.”

Beca sighed but couldn’t help but chuckle softly. 

“I guess I’ll just have to wait and find out,” Chloe said. “Come on, trouble, Auntie Beca has to finish work and you need to come tidy up your toys.”

Sarah gave a dramatic sigh and allowed her Mom to lead her away. 

Beca turned back to her computer but didn’t really feel like working. It was close to five pm, and she figured finishing a little early wouldn’t hurt.

“Actually,” Beca said, causing Chloe and Sarah to stop. “I think I’m done with work today.”

“You sure?” Chloe asked, smiling as Beca began shutting down her computer.

“Positive,” Beca said. 

“Then you can supervise and make sure Sarah puts away her toys,” Chloe said, smiling harder when both Sarah and Beca groaned.

The next morning Chloe woke Beca up with a soft kiss on the cheek.

“Hey,” Beca mumbled, still half asleep as she kissed her girlfriend back. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

“Happy Valentine’s Day,” Chloe replied. 

“I got you something,” Beca said, making a move to leave the bed before Chloe’s hand closed around her arm.

“It can wait,” she said, tugging Beca back beneath the covers. “We only have a little bit longer before Sarah gets up.”

“I like the way you think, Beale,” Beca said, kissing Chloe again. “You’re not thinking about sex, right?”

“God no, I’m exhausted,” Chloe said, causing Beca to laugh and collapse back against the pillows. 

“Thank God,” Beca said. “Taking care of a four-year-old is no joke.” 

Chloe grinned and cuddled further into Beca’s side.

“I love the way you are with her,” she said. “I love how much you’ve bonded.”

“Yeah, she’s pretty great,” Beca said. “I’m just glad she likes me.”

They cuddled in bed for a little longer until they heard the tell-tale sounds of Sarah’s feet along the carpeted hallway. 

There was a tiny knock at the door before it was pushed open, and Sarah was climbing up and onto their bed. In her hands she held two slightly crumpled pink hearts. She gave one to her Mom and the second one to Beca.

“Happy Valentine’s Day!” She said, grinning broadly, her red hair sticking up wildly. 

“Thank you, sweetheart,” Chloe said, taking the heart and kissing her on the cheek. “Happy Valentine’s Day to you too.”

Beca had to swallow before she spoke again. “You made this for me?” She asked.

Sarah nodded. “Mommy helped me with the scissors since you helped me with Mommy’s.”

Beca held it in her hand like it was the most precious thing in the world, trying to stop her eyes from filling with tears.

“Thank you,” Beca said. “This has made me really happy.”

Sarah beamed with pride before climbing off the bed. “I’m gonna go see if he’s been!” She said, excitedly running out the door.

“What is she talking about?” Chloe asked, brow furrowed as she got out of bed to follow her daughter. “Oh no, does she think Valentine’s Day is like Christmas?”

Beca laughed and got out of bed too. She put the heart on her nightstand carefully, before going into her closet and grabbing a small wrapped gift. “Lucky I got her something.” She grabbed the other one that she had stashed there late last night. “And lucky I got you something too.”

They shared a quick kiss. “I got you something too,” Chloe said. “But it’s not suitable for kids, and definitely something I’m going to give you Sarah is at pre-school later.” 

Beca raised her eyebrows. “You’re full of surprises.”

“Let’s go before she starts tearing the place apart looking for gifts from Cupid or whoever.”

“Hey,” Beca said, taking hold of Chloe’s hand before she left. “I love you.”

Chloe grinned. “I love you too.”

If you had to pick one ship who would it be; Enid and Wednesday, Beca and Chloe or another ship and why

why are yall pointing a gun to my head and making me choose one or the other these days?! give a girlie a break here omg (please *cries*)

soo like as ive said before, bechloe is my comfort ship- i use them as a ship to write for if i wanna write a particular concept or fic idea or scenario? it's the easiest bc they don't have their own.. world, let's say. they don't require as much research and the "right mindset" that i would need to be in if i want to write or think too hard about ships like caitvi, or wenclair, or chaggie, bc they have their own world and vibe and school that i obv can't personally relate to. having gone through college myself in america like the bellas in pp and being around the same age as them in the movies makes it almost natural for me to write for them? beca and chloe both have aspects/character that i share too so bonus :))

but feelings wise, glassheart (descendants) emit the most emotion out from me right now. they are just so ADFSGHJSKGJK AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH like red is so MEEE and the idea that one can find love (in someone who would actually DIE for them) when they have always been told their entire life that they don't need it or deserve it to "reach their full potential" or "rule", is just so... rip my heart out and stomp on it why don't you??! i need that in my life actually being the big romantic that i am but also carrying big baggage on my shoulders adsghj. (again, i beg yall to pls give the new descendants movie a try? for me) oh and ALSO they are the best to practice my art on :33 bc COLORS HEHE

but again, i love all the ships that i do!!! they're all so cute and make me smile and go feral and cry in the best way possible and i really commend those authors and artists who can write/draw/create content for caitvi, wenclair, and chaggie and bring them to life. we def need more of them in the world to keep the fandoms alive and provide my daily serotonin boost <33

3. What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

Oh boy. Okay. I think I gotta do it by fandom, I don't think I have an overall fave. Bechloe - Magnolias and Speyburn or What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? (which I will put on ao3 at... some point!) Imodna - I like too many of my own tbh. That's why I wrote them. When the Stars Go Out I feel has to be on here. Rizzles - Hate to See Your Heartbreak (again, which I will put on ao3 at some point). Supercorp - the next thing I post is my fave of this pairing so far. It's called Shatter Me (Again and Again) - so far, I think. The struggle of a working title. But looking at just stuff I've published? Then it has to be Slow It Down since it's the only thing for them I've posted so far. I have plans for that one.

Absolutely. Chapter Preview - Read the rest at ao3

Chloe leaned on the railings on the rooftop of Barden Tower. It was another long day of scheming and plotting. They had the ball rolling after all, they had to keep it going.

Beca had her back on the railing herself, sipping on the coffee she bought on the way back from their walk. The two of them not quite ready to return to the office yet.

The sun was setting, Aubrey had messaged them about dinner and take out, another long night in the office awaited. Chloe was starting to miss her home, her bed. Or late-night drinks alone with Beca…

How far had they come since they first met.

She never imagined for things to get too far out of hand. But Chloe believed things would quiet down soon enough, and it will be back to her usual routine soon.

Except not really.

She gave Beca a quick glance and smiled wistfully. "What?" Beca had asked as she felt Chloe's eyes on her. "What are you thinking about Chlo?"

Chloe hummed. "I'd want for nothing else than put Chicago in his place, for all this to end. Return to the normal swing of things," she said truthfully. "But with what you have to do…" she went on to say, trailing off as she thought about Beca's honest confession about her plans for Chicago and the Kommissar specifically. She gave enough details to paint a clear picture, only because it was Chloe who asked.

She felt conflicted about it. Not because of what Beca had to do exactly, but the consequences and what they meant.

Sure, they'd put everything to rest. End this fight once and for all.

But at what cost?

Chloe wasn't sure she was willing to pay the price.

"Don't worry about it," Beca then reassured her, as if she had read her mind. She turned around and placed her arms over the railings before bumping her shoulder against Chloe. "Don't you know I'm a miracle worker, or have I still not convinced you yet?"

Chloe chuckled. "You don't even know what I'm thinking about," she said, trying to deflect the fact that Beca seemed to accurately guess what it was.

"I do," Beca admitted. "Don't worry about it, Chlo," she then repeated. "The things that need to happen will happen, and whatever comes next, well, we'll deal with it. Things will settle back to normal soon."

"Yeah, but the normal I want has you in it," Chloe then found herself saying. It felt like her heart was about to jump out of her chest with her confession, but she needed to say it at least once.

"Would you really miss me that much?" Beca then asked, looking rather smug.

"Everyone will," Chloe replied, not losing this battle. She'll miss her, yes. But she wouldn't give her the satisfaction of knowing how much.

"The future isn't fixed, and you're worrying about something that hasn't come to pass," Beca then noted. "Just have faith."

"Can a devil like you really say that?" she teased back.

Beca sighed and shook her head. She raised one hand and offered Chloe her pinky, despite looking away from her. Chloe laughed but nonetheless accepted by intertwining her own pinky with Beca. "I've never lived life in the traditional sense, I marched to the beat of my own drum," Beca said. "So, no matter what happens, I hope you know, I'll find my way back here to you. Always."

Chloe felt her cheeks burn bright as she stole a glance at Beca who still looked away. She wasn't sure if it was the orange glow in the sky brought upon by the sunset or if Beca was blushing just as hard as she did, but she took comfort in that promise either way.

"I'll miss you too, you know," Beca then admitted, stealing a glance off Chloe before pulling her finger away.

"Oh, I'm sure you'll be distracted by your own plans and mafia business," Chloe teased in response. "You'll probably think of nothing else."

"You're wrong about that," Beca then replied, and her next words would be forever seared in Chloe's heart. "The truth is I won't think of anything else," she had admitted before turning towards the direction of the stairwell.

Chloe hid her face in her hands for a minute to keep her heart calm. Saying things like that…That's all they could ever admit to. Anything more would make things harder.

But Chloe hoped that perhaps one day, all of this now would be worth it.

And she could, in fact, get all that she wanted.

Those normal days, where Babel and DSM, where Chicago and his atrocities would be a distant memory.

Normal days she could spend with Beca.

first ship: no one laugh but my first conscious ship was bechloe from the pitch perfect movies (IN MY DEFENSE… HAVE YOU SEEN THE SHOWER SCENE?) but looking back before i even knew what shipping was (or that i was gay) i wanted silena and clarisse from the percy jackson books to be girlfriends so very badly.

currently reading: i haven’t had much time for reading recently because of finals but now that i’m graduated and i know my sister is getting me books for christmas i’m hoping to get back into it more. and in terms of fics i am actually hanging onto every update of green zone <3

last movie: in theaters it was wakanda forever (twice) but i also pirated the cam version of the menu last week because i was desperate to see redheaded anya taylor joy but too cheap and too busy to go see it in person. both very excellent. the menu was not about what i thought it was gonna be at all tho 😭 oh and my father decided to watch a very corny hallmark movie last night called the 9 kittens of christmas and i indulged him by sitting through it because it was about cats.

currently watching: i have multiple episodes of 911 to catch up on but i decided to rewatch s3 of teen wolf again, i just started willow because they have a knight/princess sapphic couple (thats canon!!!!), and also the world cup just ended so i was busy watching that too (last match almost gave me a heart attack i was covering my face and feeling ill every time the scores were re-tied).

consuming: now that i am no longer living in a dorm or on a dining hall plan i am eating any and everything to make up for my past few months of torture and deprivation.

craving: an indicator for wtf i’m supposed to do next now that i’ve finished undergrad and also egg drop soup because #comfortfood.

currently working on: i just finished an almost 45k word long fic that i planned to be like 20k max so i will definitely be taking a little break from writing but i have a partially started thiam fic titled “The Neck Thing” sitting in my docs that i need to finish planning because it’s cuter than the title sounds i promise guys 🙏.

ive heard abt the haunting of bly mannor cause iirc one of the people i used to read who wrote for booksmart way back when had wrote something. i know nothingggg abt it but ive considered that one. YEAH the 100 😭. ayo whats her name started kissing a guy and i was so turned off so i fast forwarded through that and at some point i was just so confused and the whole part where they killed off a bunch of people on that ship just was like.. yeahhhhh.

ILL FESS UP lmao!!!! okay so i own the first 6 seasons on dvd and ive watched them -> did skip through all the sex scenes 💀. my mom was convinced i was watching it for *that* reason BUT NO. plot!!!! i was like 16-17?? i got in trouble cause i took one of the disks to my dads and he had came home and caught me trying to watch it in my ps2 bc it wouldnt let me in the dvd player and he had made me sit through some of it and i remember just sweating and dreading that there wouldn't literally be a sex scene. LIKE FULL ON anxiety 😭. anyway lore. he was not happy about me watching it- NEITHER of them were. ive read so much vauseman fanfiction 😭😭😭. i miss them so SO much taylor schilling is hot. idc.

but like- i didnt actually watch s7??? i just never got my hands on it physically 🫡. so like i remember but i just never finished it. i should rewatch it and YES we should TALK about it. i have so much to say about them. s7 wasnt available on dvd and i was waiting but i just never got my hands on it.

i should rewatch batwoman cause i think i really liked the first season but it just went downhill because of ruby getting injured and the continuity being ruined. it wasnt bad and alice was fascinating.

OH MY GOD WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT PITCH PERFECT ASAP. anna kendrick was my gay awakening 😭. HAVE YOU SEEN A SIMPLE FAVOR CAUSE- her kiss w blake lively is iconic and blake lively in a suit is just- yum??? i love women. i haven't read the book but aparently its different from the movie and it doesn't end sapphic but hey like.... i took what i could get then 😭.

bechloe was ON my mind at all times. i was soooo up that fandom's ass. i miss them so much. my babies. i have bookmarks on my ao3 abt them but i did a lot of reading abt them on ff.net- both them and vauseman. pitch perfect 2 is by far probably the best but i can low key quote pitch perfect 1 by heart bc i used to watch it daily when i was 15.

The Guillotine File - Chapter Preview (Read the rest at ao3) Aubrey was doing her best not to laugh, and look as stern as ever, but Beca was making it very hard with her theatrics. She was currently oh so forlornly leaning towards one of the pillars in the middle of Cynthia Rose's restaurant while shamming the residents for doubting her intentions.

To be fair, they were right to doubt. But Beca was the rightful owner of the gold, so can she really blame her?

"I can't believe, that I did something out of the kindness of my heart for all of you, to show my gratitude, and you think… that-that I am some dastardly villain who would lie to you," Beca said, looking incredibly dejected.

"We're so sorry, Beca," Flo then said.

"We didn't mean to," Jessica and Ashley chorused.

"Yeah, lil consigliere," Amy then chimed in.

"It's not that we thought bad of you, but you know, gold can get to a person's greed," Cynthia Rose followed.

"I don't think, I can be here right now," Beca then said, with a sniffle, before dramatically stomping off to leave. Luke excused himself, shaking his head, explaining he was going home.

"Now look at what you've done," Chloe then chastised them before following Beca.

"Shame on all of you for thinking Beca would betray you all," Emily then said, before stomping off to.

Aubrey simply shook her head and sighed. "So much for a fun weekend with all of you," was all she said before shortly following her friends back to the office.

They have so many questions for Beca after all.
