Sometimes I get all teary eyed when I think about Dorian and Aelin’s friendship

Legit one of the most platonic soulmates of two genuine humans I adore

You have Dorian and his entire let her go passage and you can’t pick what pieces of someone you want and taking care of Fleetfoot and loyal to her and loving her really truly trying to know her and be the best he can be open door policy not crossing a line asking to hug her vibes

And Celaena Aelin etc knowing what an amazing human he is wanting to protect them since they were little kids promising with tears in her eyes and a smile to come back for him actually coming back for him and helping him through it and then sending Rowan to bring him back because she loves her friend that much she won’t let him die even if it means she has to send her heart off to war to save him

and then the two of them together being strong enough to destroy cities build kingdoms take over the world make it or break it and they just make it better and save each other and their people

And I just really love them so much

Oooooh my god oh my god I got hit with an absolute revelation last night

So the downside of not owning the LotR books until 50 fucking chapters into my fic means that I find out about little details WAY too late. I was skimming through it and learnt that APPARENTLY the Houses of Healing DON'T have Kingsfoil, which would have been good to know when I made Rhosynel’s sister a healer, who in the first chapter gives Rhosyn a few herbs, one of which is frigging Kingsfoil.

But then I got STRUCKETH with a realisation!

Rhosynel and Rhymenel have access to kingsfoil at home. Why? Because their mother is Rhysnaur.

Rhysnaur who travelled and worked extensively with Thorongil when they were younger, and of course Aragorn knew Kingsfoils properties, so of course he used it around Rhys, and of course she'd have learnt it was a good aid for down moods or headaches, so of course she'd have kept some of her own later on, and of course her daughters would have learnt to use it themselves, so of course Rhyme would send Rhosyn off with some, and OF COURSE Rhosyn had it on her at Amon Hen and managed to save Boromir's life with it!!!

Oooooooh I love it when the plot points come together entirely by accident!

(I would love to claim I'm some genius writer who knows every detail before she writes but THATS A BIG FAT LIE AND I LOVE HOW THESE THINGS WORK OUT ACCIDENTALLY)
