#computers#fuck modern computers#what fucking year is this that i can't find a godsdamned computer with backlit keys?#all i want is a big-ass fucking hard drive#with a big-ass fucking screen#an optical drive#and backlit keys#oh and more than two fucking usb ports because i'm not a SAVAGE#those should be pretty minimal requirements/expectations in a computer tbh???#like i get that i'll have to pay for the size of the hd and the screen OKAY#but literally NO ONE WILL LET ME#it's all ''look how streamlined and lightweight and cheap we've made this!''#and i'm like yeah i can see it's cheap it looks like it was made out of paper#how about you give me a computer that weighs more than three ounces and won't crumple if i breathe on it wrong?#like bitch i'm deliberately buying a SEVENTEEN INCH SCREEN#DO YOU REALLY THINK PORTABILITY IS MY MAJOR CONCERN???#what happened to the big fucking desktop replacement-style laptops of yesteryear?#i really thought all this work-from-home stuff was going to help give them a comeback!#as people appreciated that there was a niche/market for computers that AREN'T pocket-sized#but can in fact do ALL THE THINGS even if it means they had shit battery life and weigh fifteen pounds#I AM OKAY WITH THAT COMBINATION OF FEATURES#in fact i would like MORE features and will happily take more weight in return!#(gods i miss having hardwired dedicated media control buttons right there on my machine ugh)#old computers had so many nice bells and whistles!#SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME PAY THEM EXTRA FOR SOME BELLS AND WHISTLES#PLEASE SIR#I JUST WANT A COMPUTER THAT CAN DOUBLE AS A BLUNT INSTRUMENT#AND ALSO LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE I WANT IT TO DO#except for a pocket calculator that is the only feature in which i am disinterested#I ALREADY HAVE A BIG FUCKING PADDED BAG TO CARRY IT
