it's both interesting and sad to see how much alicent has hardened as this season goes on. every time you see her get the rug swept out from under her (like finding out that the prophecy from viserys wasn't about her son at all and that viserys in the end really didn't give a second thought to her or her kids) or when she's shooed away by her own former small council because she's seen as practically useless to them now, you see a little more of the light in her eyes die and the softness around her edges wither away as she becomes more and more despondent and apathetic to herself and others
