"hey there, big guy. miss me?" ethan did this once a week, visiting his favorite ranchhand - partially to chat, but also to see behind the scenes for a little. he secretly enjoyed helping out, even if it was just by keeping matai company, or helping with carrying - or something. in exchange, he liked to thing he could stake his claim on meat for his shifts. if matai was the one to deliver, ethan could be sure it was great quality - no stray bones, it was the best.
"sure as hell missed you." he leaned against a fence, his arms & elbows on top. he could watch matai work for hours. "soooooo." deep breath, his lips & teeth making a little sucking sound. "anything new?"

putting himself in the midst of a fight had not been his smartest idea. the dark purple bruise forming on his cheek was not going to be a pleasant companion, his jaw was aching & of course, as fate would have it - he was missing ingredients, so here he was with a cold piece of cloth pressed against his face. he'd seen victor before, but in the few weeks he'd been in athos he didn't quite get the chance to say hello to everybody yet.

he didn't want this to be his first meeting with anybody, but he was out of options, the other horticulturists weren't around at this time. "hi." even speaking hurt, goddamnit. "sorry it's late, but i really need arnica. please. i was told you're the one to ask.." favors were tricky, but he planned to pay back in full. "oh, i'm vincent."

fiddling with coins in his palm, silas was counting & mentally trying to plan how much he could possibly ask for. he had a few wishes, but would only be able to afford some of what he came for, which he was alright with. once settled, decision made - silas entered with a soft knock to the doorframe. upon entering, he found himself to be the only customer currently inside, which he was fine with. the less time he had to spend alone with an alpha, the better.
"hey, you got a minute? i uh, need a thing or two." he could've hit up another of the blacksmiths, but - he wanted the best, so here he was. "heard you were the one to ask.."
