A couple days ago I had an "incident" w my mother... I was crying all day bc of this... And gf was trying to calm me down ... It is strange how much we bond through our mommy issues...
Today gf had and "incident" w her mother and she's been sad all day bc of that simple thing and I'm trying to calm her down and she is just so sad we have to go through this spiral of maternal rejection...
Well uh....am I wrong in the head bc I think is hot when she is having turmoil w her mother??? Like obviously I don't like it when my mother in law is so mean or at the very least condescending w her feelings, specially bc she is very sensitive... But like.. uh I think is hot when she tell me she is having mommy issues š«š«š«š«
#my incident is that while discussing the rising price of drinkingwater (thanks cocacola) my mother just told yelled at me that instead#of not drinking water i should make more money bc she is seick of us being broke.. and like it really hurt bc i try... i try to work a lot#i work a half time office job. i made the cleanning dity at home... i work on the house we are building... like physical construction work.#and also try to help w our vegetable garden and to say that made me feel so fucking miserable#and my gfs incident was that she is now sick w dengue ( i know im throwing at you pretty much 3rd world problems) she is sick. s#and still she is trying to do things and her mother is telling her she will teach gf how to sew.. and is not like my mil has a lot of thing#to do.. like mil literally spends hours on the fucking phone on tt#like that si mole action of not wanting to spend time w her daughter really is hurting bc is not the first time she does that and that only#happens w my gf.. bc my sil does not recieve the same treatment!!#also i want to be clear bc i thnk is easy to think the way my mil threats my gf is bc of transphobia... but no.#actually she is very supportive of my gf and all... i think she is so cruel to my gf bc of ableism actually...#and it does not make it better... like omfg... she is always talking ahit about gf bc of her problems w executive dysfunction and#bc of the price of gf adhd medications but says nothing bc of my sil medical school expenses (wich are not fucking cheap)

It's always interesting to hear about people's weird/unexpected "alternate life paths". Like, something that you could have done with your life, a job you almost took, a school you almost went to, etc - that was still actually realistic enough that it could have happened, but NOW it seems to not suit your current personality.
Like for example, I currently hate advertising (how manipulative it is, brands trying to be 'relatable', social media amplifying it to an obnoxious extreme, etc.) so much that even seeing a little ad before a youtube video is grating to even witness, but there was a point in time where I was genuinely seriously considering going into marketing/making commercials as a career lol. Or like, I have a relative who was very inclined to be a pastor when they were younger, even though today they're a super strong atheist, etc. etc.
#BECAUSE I knew I really liked filming and editing things and doing set design and costume design (from having done little bits of that#here and there in media classes and my own stuff - i used to be a lot more into making videos than I am now). BUT I was always thinking#that a movie is WAAY to big and long. even a short film. So I was trying to think of ways I could still like#have the fun of scouting locations to film and dressing up actors and etc. etc. without it having to be a Huge Million Dollar Production#on tv show or movie level. SO then I was thinking about like... just doing commercials. Or music videos. Like shorter things where I still#get the fun of the filming and everything but it's less of an intensive long term project.#So there is an alternate version of me (I suppose if i somehow did not end up having physical and mental health issues#as badly somehow.. or like.. randomly came into wealth and was able to pay my way through a nice college despite missing#days constantly being out because I'm sick or something lol) that works in some corporate advertising office coming up with commercials#and directing or filming them or doing the sets for them or something in that general vicinity.#I also was considering being a corporate psychologist. or whatever its called.. oh from google:#''Industrial and organizational (I/O) psychologists study and assess individual group and organization dynamics in the workplace''#I don't think I even knew what the job entailed. I was at the time just thinking like.. the type of person that comes into a business offic#and gives everyone personality assessments or does MBTI or big-5 testing crap for whatever reason that some businesses get that#done for people. Really i just wanted to be in a Corporate Big Office setting yet still do psychology. Because I used to be really fixated#on living in a big city. Like the ideas of everything being walkable. picking up a coffee in the morning. walking to my job in a Big#Skyscraper Building. people watching in a huge hotel lobby for lunch. flying frequently (I love airplanes and airports aesthetically).#living in an apartment with a giant window overlooking the city. etc. etc. BUT that was before i had really BEEN to a city. Then I actually#hung around a city a few times and went places and I was like... AUGh... The Sensory Overwhelm.. cars people lights loudness noise scary#everything happening all at once. etc. etc. (though even when I wanted to live in a city i NEVER strove for the Night Life. when i say I#enjoy city imagery I mean like... in the day time. Many people who like cities talk about The Night Life and post pictures of cities all#lit up at night and clubs and dancing and restaurants. none of that EVER appealed to me. perhaps a sign I am not a real city person. Like#I am NOT standing in a crowded bar full of loud people in the middle of the night lol.. get AWAY from me!!) but I do adore the#architecture of like bright white clean sterile modern spaces like huge airport lobbies or malls or etc. I think thats what reminded me of#city and what I liked about the idea of that life. Like I always LOVED the layout of schools and hospitals and trainstations and public#transport in general. Though even then I knew enough that I would not be a good architect/city planner. so I guess my adoration for those#spaces was merely to be channeled into LIVING there. but then I realized I didn't even really want to do that that much. I mean I still#definitely aim to live NEAR a city. like the little areas outside of it. I would never live in a rural place 4 hours from anything. I liter#ally just COULDNT since I need close access to hospitals sometimes lol. But I used to want to live in the CENTER of citites like high rise#condo. and now I'm like.... eh....... perhaps a smaller quieter walkable space nearby lol.. ANYWAY.. alternate me in my Business Suit eheh

I've started listening to an Anthony Bourdain audiobook at work and it's making me yearn for the kitchen
#Don't get me wrong I like my new job and from a practical standpoint it's definitely better than restaurant work#Like the pay and hours and more stable and it comes with benefits like medical/dental insurance and free college tuition#But I miss finishing a night shift and then getting high and going to Waffle House with the other closers at 4am#My new job is fine but there's nobody to talk to because the other janitors are off cleaning other buildings#and the people working in the building I clean are polite enough to say hello and make small talk but I harbor no illusions#that these college professors want to talk to a janitor and even if they did I'm only in their offices for like 30 seconds tops#Meanwhile working completely in sync in such close proximity with half a dozen other 20-something townies forges lifelong friendships

cool so my ent just made my ear bleed. im never going back to see her again.
#purrs#i go in every 3 weeks to get my ears cleaned out bc i have chronic issues including w*x build up and she was SO fucking aggressive. i saw#her for all of TWO FUCKING MINUTES and she didnāt even bother to look before she started trying to clean and she was really rough with the#instrument and really hurt my one bad ear taking out the w*x and i was asking her questions about flying and she was completely dismissing#me and shutting me down and telling me to put mineral oil drops or debrox in my ear when SHE is the one who told me earlier not to put any#liquid in my ears. and i was in her chair for all of two minutes and when she left i realized MY FUCKING EAR WAS BLEEDING because she was so#aggressive with the tool she abraded the skin and didnāt even care to check if my ear was clear or bleeding or whatever after she left. im#so fucking angry and in pain. what the FUCK. you are my ent. you KNOW i have chronic issues in that ear specifically. can you not be slow a#and gentle when you see me. can you not give me more than five minutes of your time when i only see you every THREE MONTHS. i just am so#angry and distraught. fuck her and fuck that entire office. itās so unpleasant being there i am fucking done.#ask to tag#like can you not be delicate. For a moment, Clara is left befuddled-- obviously she did not intend for this person to pay her-- but it fades quickly. Gotham is filled to the brim with people slow to trust, and nearly every street corner has someone trying to leech something out of you. It's a fair assumption. Clara simply strives to be better.
She shrugs and lets her expression change into something more jovial, amused. "I don't need any money. If you feel bad about taking the room as-is, you can help me with some of my chores, but honestly, it's fine. It's not like I'm giving you a great place to stay. But like, at least there's a bed and food?"
It's the sort of place that Clara herself never minds much, even as filthy and rundown as it is, because the city is so much her home. Most others are less enthusiastic, but sometimes they're desperate, and Clara doesn't mind sharing the space.

The Door Handle
Life as a door handle wasn't so bad. Sure, there was that man whose fingers were always greasy after lunch and those children whose hands were sometimes sticky with glue from an art project and that lady with the really sweaty palms, but it wasn't so bad. After all, at the end of the day there was a nice man who would come by and whistle while giving the door handle a nice wipe-down with a Clorox wipe.
The only complaint the door handle really had was that it didn't know what was beyond the door it was attached to.
The door handle remained there for a long time, wondering, until the day a kid attempted to lockpick it and failed; the kid had instead messed up the door handle's locking mechanism.
The following day the door handle was removed from the door. It felt a sense of excitement as it was carried beyond the door into a dark room. The person carrying the door handle flicked on the lights to reveal an empty office, with a front desk and filing cabinets. A hallway beyond the front desk led to other offices with windows showing what they looked like inside. The door handle was amazed to find itself being carried past other doors. It saw, to its delight, that the other doors all had door handles, too!
The person carried the door handle into one of the offices and the door handle's excitement grew as it thought about all the adventures it could have now that it was free from the door.
The person picked up a cardboard box and put the door handle inside before closing it.
