👯‍♂️ - roger or rafa?

They both play very different games, both very nice and down to earth people. But Rafa was my fave as a kid. Gotta remain loyal!

🙃 - popular player you dislike?

Sascha Zverev. I honestly can’t tell you why, there’s just something about him that doesn’t sit right with me

🤸‍♀️ - have you/do you play tennis?

The most I ever played tennis was about 2 hours a week for 6 weeks a year during PE at school. I wasn’t very good at it. I manage to get my serve nailed, but I used to return balls across the net of the court next to mine. In my defence, I was never actually taught how to play; it was “here’s a racket and ball, go crazy”

🌥 - how did you start watching tennis?

My dad and nan watched it when I was young. My nan watched it because Andy played and my nan supported everything and anything Scottish. I used to only watch the grand slams, and just follow the rankings. But it was last year where I started to properly follow it and watch as much as I could. One of my best decisions (even if my fave has been causing me stress ever since)

☁️ - do you like quick matches or long, drawn out ones?

Depends who’s playing! If it’s a player I really want to go through, I’d rather a short easy match. But otherwise, I am a sucker for long matches. Especially if i love both players, the longer the better!

💫 - is there something you think can be improved on in the sport?

There’s a lot inequality between the men’s and women’s sides. I think that could be improved a lot, especially when it comes to maternity leave. Otherwise, I think accessibility could be improved a lot. It’s getting better for sure, but so much of it is locked behind a pay wall. I think it would help boost the sport if some of it was free to view via youtube or something.

🌞 - why do you like the sport?

it’s calm for the most part. The respect is huge, amongst players, the crowd, and the officials (ofc there are exceptions) and it’s refreshing to see in sport tbh. Plus the way players react to when they finally win something is so pure and lovely. I live for it
