                      END QUEST: CAGLIOSTROHQ’S 2ND EVENT!

i. Lead by the golden rabbit, the last of those spirited away into the dream worlds finally return to the battlefield. Time had behaved differently for each of them. Some felt they’d only been gone for minutes, while others struggle to adjust after what felt like a lifetime. Murmurs travel through the crowd, townspeople wondering had they been saved by the dragon goddess’ intervention. Alvar Beltran muses: “Even if the goddess herself is long gone, perhaps we can still hear her echo in our dreams.” A surprise gust of autumn wind, carrying with it the earthy, sweet scent of yellowed leaves, sends a shiver down your spine.

ii. RENEE BRIGHTON (@reneexbrighton) is the archivist trusted to play The Boundary’s memory sphere for the public at the Archiviste Library. The memory is relayed through The Boundary’s eyes, as it slithers through shadows and hidden crawl spaces. It’s hidden inside the Ventuswill Shrine during its heyday, but its pillars of gold are hacked and sawed by a frenzied crowd. Hauling the unconscious goddess by her horns, they drag her outside where a bonfire awaits. “The goddess blood, the goddess flesh -- you taste it and you conquer death!” they shout.

The memory cuts out, and a darkened sky indicates time has passed.

The area outside is deserted, save for a distraught follower still wearing their green sash. He is collapsed, inconsolable, screaming into an empty field of scattered, charred bones. All of Selphia celebrates the end of sickness and old age, the end of curses, the end of eternal sleep. But for the last follower, this is a time of mourning she who was once known as Ventuswill, The Divine Wind. The Boundary slithers around him, wrapping the weeping man in its darkened coil.

“Do you...want them to pay for what they did?” it asks. “I want them to pay! I want them all to suffer, but nothing...will bring her back,” he sobs. “And death would be too kind for those monsters.” “What of...a fate...worse than death?” grins The Boundary. “I can give you such power. Punish them for me. Punish them for Venti.” The man hesitates. “I’d grow old and die before punishing them all,” he said. “Not if you become immortal, too,” says The Boundary. “Ventuswill is--there’s nothing...left,” says the man. He chokes on his words, retching at the reality of what had transpired as a single, charred bone rolls towards him. “A taste of bone marrow will do just fine!” giggles The Boundary. “Do it for her! Hunt all those who hurt your precious goddess until the end of time. Only you can avenge her memory...”

The view changes again. The Boundary watches afar as the man succumbs to their deal, howling in immense pain as fingertips curled into claws and blunt, human teeth sharpened like that of a beast. A light seared into their neck, carving out the golden mark of a Cursed Blood. The first Cursed Blood.

iii. Chaos erupts in the library as the townspeople process what they’d witnessed. There are more questions than answers, but time flows forward and people return to their lives.  CERENIA SOTEIRA  (@xf-grxmviridicn) is briefly advised by The Lady of the Wildwoods to add the small, newly freed puppet monster into Lelana Fraser’s grimoire. The Heads of Fraser, Beltran, and Vanitas (LADY SERAPHIM; @axdently, ROOK PENDRAGON @chocalafolie), ELI BANE ( @ofbanes​) are invited to the royal palace to receive honorary medals for their display of leadership during the crisis. A medal of bravery for Fraser, a medal of heart for Beltran, and a medal of fortitude for Vanitas. The ceremony is held outdoors on November 1st with much fanfare, and is open to the public.

iv. Those who do not attend the ceremony may have spotted strange activity on Whale Island.  The Wizard of Whale Island is spotted rummaging about The Marionettist’s corpse, and has taken samples of it back to the tower for further study. Like the golden skeletal bone supposedly belonging to Ventuswill, the being’s corpse did not revert into a Dreamstone. While Rasmodius decides to do the brunt of the work solo, TRISTAN GOODMAN ( @trisztan​ ) is entrusted with studying the puppet’s strings, which contain a magical network inside the threads akin to nerves.

A not-so-anonymous letter reeking of wine and incense alerts PAXTON HONORE ( @axdently​ ) that the puppet strings the wizard took are one of three crucial pieces needed to complete their father’s secret device. However, it is nigh-impossible to convince Rasmodius to spare such rare material. Ventuswill reaches KIMIKO YUKIMURA (@ofthcshvdes​) through her dreams “to stop what has been set into motion”, urging her once again to stop the wizard’s meddling of her skeletal remains.

v. Rumor of “The Fairy of The Green Ruins” emerges. Many attribute the rumor to hysteria, while others truly believe a new type of monster lurks in the ruins. MYRAD ASINASTRA’S ( @ofthcshvdes​) adopted human daughter is enchanted by the rumor, and plays at the Green Ruins in hope to find this pink-petaled fairy. However, she is bitten by a Cursed Blood who’d been sheltering at the Green Ruins due to the increased animosity of the townspeople who’d watched The Boundary’s memory sphere. Though she carries the golden mark, she is unaffected by the curse’s effects.

vi. In the following days, blood psychometrist TIVAN SAVIO ( @gcmechanger ) uses their gift on a Cursed Blood. He learns of a mysterious human child, of which there are no formal records of, that is unaffected by the curse. They engage in casual conversation with Alvar Beltran, who now stays in the Bluebell Inn as he adjusts to the modern world. He explains his theory about the dream worlds everyone had passed through during the fight on Whale Island.

In Ath, they were known as the Erde Wiege, dreamscapes that sourced their world from visions had in your dreams. To members of the Dragon Priesthood, to set foot in such a realm was to undoubtedly set foot in a holy place. Originally, they had been places created by the goddess for one to discover more about themselves through both their innate goodness and the darkness in their hearts. “They’re highly peculiar,” he says. “I did not conduct much research on them during my era. However, my future scrying saw that Lelana Fraser had been interested in them. There may be more research done by her buried somewhere in the ruins...”

Alfred Molina is now taken as Alvar Beltran !!! He will be staying at the Bluebell Inn while adjusting to the modern era.
