I find Celtic so cool especially their singing. I am really happy that it is still alive.
I wish actual Old Norse had survived as much as Celtic has. Unfortunately we don't really know what it sounded like. It is very much dead.
The closet we can get is what is usually called Old Norse (because people in the 18hundres mistakenly thought that was the language of the Vikings) or Norrønt which is the language that evolved in Norway around 1200 and survived in Iceland. That we can actually learn but like Latin not really a language that is alive anymore. But it is cool to understand the original Icelandic Sagas.
But before that all the north and Vikings actually spoke the same language usually called Dane tounge (believed to come from Saxons because it was mostly Danes they interacted with despite what movies and series make you believe. Snorri also used that name so that was probably just decided after that it would be what it's called) and I wish I could learn that language that my ancestors spoke when they actually where Vikings. But at least I can one day learn something that should be close to it even though the Danes never spoke that one.
If your language lost, it should die with dignity, not be put on artificial life-support because ‘reasons’
