Maybe it was her own fault, Jazz thought as she noted that the ones called Batman, Red Hood, Spoiler, Black Bat and Robin all reeked of death. Maybe there was something about her that was appealing to the dead and dead-adjacent beings?
She should probably talk with Frostbite about that. Because she was starting to get sick of being the only living sibling in her family and didn't want any more. Admittedly, Dani couldn't help it. She had been created straddling the line between life and death. But all these weird people that were standing in her parents yard? Did they really have an excuse for also being dead while claiming to be her family?
She let out an exhausted sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. Fortunately, her parents were away bothering Vlad with a surprise visit and Danny was off in the Ghost Zone with Sam and Tucker. She did not need a territorial little brother biting these weird dead strangers, she had no idea where they had been after all.
"Right..." she finally said in a very unimpressed voice as the strangers all continued to stare at her, the ones called Nightwing and Black Bat were at least waving excitedly at her instead of staring like creeps. "Look, I'm sure you can understand that I'm not just going to take your word that you're my biological father. And I am definitely not going to follow you all to some undisclosed location just because you claim it is for my safety."
"Tt" the small one called Robin scoffed. "If she is so foolish as to deny our aid then let us leave her and be done with this."
Jazz was about to say that she really didn't need or want the aid of total strangers when her enhanced hearing alerted her to approaching danger.
The faint whistling of an arrow suddenly came to a stop as she snatched it out of the air. "Seriously?" she grumbled, looking up to see a crowd of around a dozen ninja cosplayers.
At the same moment the strange people claiming to be her family all scattered and began fighting with the cosplayers.
Jazz just blinked in confusion.
Was this some kind of practical joke that Danny had set up? A coordinated ghostly flash mob kind of situation?
Whatever it was, she was done with it.
Closing the door, she activated the home's security systems and went to make herself a cup of tea.
"Weirdos," she muttered before putting the ninja cosplayers and supposed dead family members out of her mind. There was a hallmark movie marathon coming up and she was not going to miss it.
Jazz is an Al Ghul.
She should have know something was up when the seventh ninja cosplayer tried to kill her. But with her life it honestly wasn't even a blip on her rader.
Sure, it was odd.
But not as odd as her parents being ghost hunters.
However ninja wannabes were one thing, guy in furry suit showing up on her doorstep saying "I am your father, Luke." Was another.
Jazz could practically smell the trauma wafting off her so called new family members (half of her believes it's fake, she's been tricked before.)
And is having her siblings not die too much to ask for?

my horrible horrible Batman/bruce Wayne headcannons
He’s half Sicilian and half Jewish. I will take this to my actual grave/srs
the real reason he can walk away and fight people with broken bones and while bleeding out is because he has an undiagnosed pain disorder. Like the one where you can’t feel pain at all. And has never realized it ever, and the batfam are completely oblivious too. Thomas Wayne (his dad) had it and never noticed either.
he sings songs to his kids, but really really bad covers. On purpose. He also has a secret YouTube music channel called “bats in the belfry” where he uploads his good guitar/vocal covers. He accidentally goes viral, and juggles a triple life as a semi-famous songwriter and singer. No one knows it’s him though, not even the league.
Thomas gave bruce all his old medical texts, and used to teach him first aid when he was little. little bruce loved it so much.
bruce actually has his doctorate in chemistry, engineering, medicine, biology, botany, and he took some random courses about the bats of Gotham and then studied veterinary medicine.
he proudly displays his many doctorates he earned in the same 3 years, in the library where no one see them.
his best friend forever is Harvey dent, even though Harvey and Harv are twoface. he does not care and randomly rocks up to his house with some good brandy, and invites them to his house always and forever.
bruce is actually a good dad, he's just also oblivious and accidentally hurts his kids feelings.
he actually hates being called bruce, and considers it his deadname. he actually one time when he was poisoned got out the name change forms filled them out with the name Bat Bruce Wayne and got his name changed and then he started feeling better after being poisoned he realised that he changed his legal name to Bat Wayne and he could not change it back. he tries to lie about it but he still has to sign forms with his legal name, no one has figured it out yet. everyone just assumes Bat Wayne is like his 9th kid or something.
bruce despite being rich as balls actually hates being rich with a passion, and literally throws his money at anything he can. when he was younger he tried desperately to get rid of all his money via charities, investing in local Gotham shops and chains, and literally paying for any health or medical care thing he could. sadly that only made the entire city of Gotham love him, and sadly he just got 30x the money he put in. and he still doesn't know how. it basically turned into a one upping where bruce tried everything he could to get rid of his money but all that happened was people started to love and adore Wayne tech and Wayne industries, and bruce Wayne's constant stream of donations to literally every single charity he could shove money in their hands. it backfired horribly and now he has a LEGION of international Bruce Wayne fans who literally give him money. he hates every single moment.
he has a weird thing going on with joker, they made out a couple times and they both refuse to ever bring it up. (bruce would have killed him if he didn't kinda have the hots for him and thought he couldn't be redeemed.)
he singlehandedly is keeping all of Gothams diverse bat species alive and well, he also has like 1,000s of pet bats in the batcave.
his favourite colour is actually yellow, but he just likes that black is stealthy.
he actually has tons and tons of scars, and no one really knows because bruce always wears fingerless gloves and long sleeves. they just think it's a fashion statement, bruce just likes covering up his scars.
he started a conspiracy that batman was actually not real and just a cryptid, he leans even more into it as Bruce Wayne.
he picks up all his kids and spins them around at random, because he loves keeping them on their feet.
he's low-key on and off dating both Catwoman and Harvey, while having work husband Clark Kent be his teammate.
the media completely forgets bruce literally has multiple doctorates some times. and when he publishes any work he does everyone is like "oh look it's Bruce Wayne, not THE Bruce Wayne of Wayne tech. science Bruce Wayne of the same name. because the playboy billionaire doesn't publish in scientific journals" and then one time he was invited to give a lecture on poison ivy's plants and the critically endangered Gotham wild rose of which there is only one left and of which he is currently keeping safe in his plant house. anyway everyone was fucking shocked and bruce put on his serious scholarly tone and started talking. while in a yellow Gotham U jumper with coffee stains on it while looking like he was in a car crashes aftermath only moments earlier. (he just forgot to set his bones again.)
bruce has autism and OCD. his special interest is gray ghost, and he fucking hates bright lights. (sun glasses indoors kinda guy)
bruce keeps like 50 photos of his kids in his wallet, 1: because it's funny 2: because he does not bring a phone with him anywhere.
and lastly, when he was doing his tour around the world to learn all types of fighting and escapism. he also learned he was horrible at cooking, just downright destructive.

The Criminal Psychology Majors, Jason Todd x Fem!Reader Part 18/?

Jason walked out in a few minutes, just in his boxers. She looked at him before letting out a slight laugh at the absurdity of it.
"Don't laugh, you're the one who tore my clothes."
She sighed, "And you're going to have to go home in torn boxers, Bruce is going to kill you."
"God, don't remind me," he said before sitting beside her.
She laughed, "You could just not go home?"
"I wish. But I have a life. You have a life."
"It's unfortunate, isn't it. Can't spend all day with you but you're all I want to do."
"Funny."
"Thank you, I really tried," she thought, "You remember how I seem to have a fascination with vigilantes?"
"Yes, why?"
"I remembered why. So, when I was in high school, graduating year, I had law class. I was bored, so I did law, don't question it," she laughed. "Anyway, in my law class, they split us into groups. Specifically, Pro-Justice-League-Association and Anti-Justice-League-Association."
"Pro and Anti?"
"Yeah, apparently it was relevant? I guess the JLA doesn't use conventional methods to get evidence? Don't care though. Anyway, I was on the side of Pro, obviously."
"Obviously."
"Wait I'm not done! By the end of the class, I had debated every member of the Anti team and converted them. It actually introduced me to the Robin-Forums, which is just smack dab full of conspiracies."
"Robin-Forums?"
"Oh my god? You don't know those? You're all over them. Some people are convinced you're Kid Flash, some are convinced you're Robin, it's crazy."
"That is crazy but seems funny. What about my family?"
"Someone in my class posted "Why Clark Kent is Batman: An Essay" which has like, 20k likes? It's very popular."
"Well, I swear he isn't Batman. He's just very fond of the night."
"That's what I said, but that man is convinced otherwise."
"You would know if any of us were vigilantes. We're not good at hiding secrets."
"I'm sure you have your secrets, I just find it funny people think you have time to be Kid Flash."
"People spend all their time worrying about me, when will it end?"
"Ha! That's fair. Tabloids running your name probably doesn't help the conspiracies."
"I remember one of my ex-friends from high school mentioned me being Kid Flash, I was so confused, I guess it makes sense now. I'm going to have to show everyone that. They'll get a kick out of it."
"I bet they would. I'm waiting for the day I'm on it as someone who's a hero. Hoping they say I'm Wonder Woman or something. I think it would be funny."
"You get Miss Martin because everyone thinks you're too beautiful to be human."
"Aw. That's so corny that I hate it! Well done."
"Thank you. I learned it from Dick."
"Of course you did."
"Where else would I learn it from?"
"If you're genuinely asking, the internet, probably."
"That's fair. That's completely fair. I think Dick learns a lot of his lines from the internet, honestly."
"Oh yeah, there's no way he comes up with everything on his own. No way."
"So, what other dumb stories do you have?"
"Well, I think my sister is either a vigilante or really, really, weird."
"You think your sister is a vigilante?"
"Okay so, she's a businesswoman. No big deal, right? Wrong. She's always out, more often than she has to be, she's always spending nights away from home."
"That doesn't mean anything."
"Okay well Adrianna, Aria, whatever you want to call her, she's being suspicious."
"I'm sure you're looking too far into it."
---------------------------
The Night Jason Was Stabbed.
Aria clutched the scythe in her life hand. She had failed. She had worn her best dresses that she could hide beneath her capes, she had drugged him, she had stabbed him 6 bloody times, and he had still survived!
She was angry. She walked up to the Red Hood on his time off while he was catching a drink, looking stressed. She didn't care if he accepted her offer to go to her room, she just cared about that moment. The one where she could slip in the crushed-up pills and no one would stop her.
And she had done it. She waited until after he chugged the whole drink to strike. He was stumbling around, like an idiot. She hit his head with the back of her blade, knocking him to the ground where she proceeded to stab him 6 times in his right side.
She kissed his forehead before leaving, which required her to removed her mask a bit, saying "Goodnight, sweet Prince," before running into the darkness.
But the blue one, Nightwing. He got to the Red Hood before he could die. And she was pissed. All that hard work, just for him to not even die.
The scythe was still bloodied from the Red Hood. Her lips were still warm from his forehead. But now, he had possibly seen her face! Her plans were foiled every way when of her goblins came up to her.
"Ma'am, your weapon."
She passed it over without second thought. She wanted it rid of the blood of a living man, she wanted it soaked in the blood of a dead man.
Her plague doctor mask fell a bit as she began to tear up. She had failed. She had never failed at knocking "Heroes" down a peg.
Call it crazy, but she knew the fights between her and the Red Hood were far from over. She even felt as they'd grow closer.
As she looked at the walls covered in the photos of the vigilantes of the world, she knew this was only the first battle. The war was hers. They didn't know what was going to hit them.
But there was an issue. Her sister, Y/N had become close with one of the Waynes. She needed the Waynes to get to the "Heroes" which meant possibly hurting her sister.
----------------------------------
"I hope I'm looking too far into it."
She wasn't.
One night when they were both 17, it was just Aria and Y/N in the house when Y/N was awoken by a loud crash from the downstairs window.
She went to investigate, bat in hand, to find her sister, stumbling over the coffee table. Bleeding out and clutching her side from the blood. Stabbed.
Y/N took no hesitation to take care of Aria. Stitching her up like they had as kids when Y/N would sitch up Aria after shut cut herself on skates, or if Y/N ran straight into a car.
Those images still dance in Y/N's mind to this day. Something was up with the way that her sister had a mask, a long bird-Esque plague doctor mask. A cloak. Knives. Guns. A scythe.
The best outcome would be her sister was attacked while LARPing in the park. The worst? She was a villain. Midway? A hero of the night, a vigilante. Anything was better than a villain.
If only she knew the pain Aria had caused her until this point. The fact that Aria was the one who drugged and tried to kill Jason. The pieces of the story were unravelling in front of everyone's eyes, they just needed to connect them properly.
--------------------------------
Aria had a plan. Kidnap her sister and her lover's family. Get ransom. Get them hurting. Locate the "Heroes". The only issue was that Y/N would recognise the cloak, the mask. She knew the get-up.
Aria was not about to redesign her entire outfit for the sake of not alerting her sister. She figured it would be unlikely that Y/N would focus on the cloak when she's being used for ransom money.
Or at least she hoped. She wasn't certain her plan would even work. Breaking into the Wayne Manor, after one of the kids had been stabbed, in a mugging was going to be difficult.
They had employed security, something that was never common at the Wayne Manor before this moment. She was upset. If only her sister had met the Waynes before the stabbing.
Then she thought.
Red Hood is a Wayne?
It made sense, sure. They got stabbed at the same time. But was it reasonable? She didn't know. Why would an 18-20-year-old be a vigilante? He couldn't even legally drink?
She thought it didn't make sense. That the Red Hood was never, could never be the Wayne kid. But if he was, what could that mean?
She was certain he wasn't. But the thoughts swirled in her mind as if beckoning her to come to the conclusion.
She was crazy, she knew that. She was obviously crazy, she became the villain, the opposite of her twin in every way. She was insane. Arkham would like her. But there was something about the Red Hood being a Wayne that kept coming back to her. Haunting her like the night she was stabbed by Green Arrow back in Metropolis.
She was on their radar. They knew her. They would come to get the Waynes.
She knew the Justice League Association knew of her. But the people didn't. This stunt would make the people know of her.
The name Hour will ring through the streets of Gotham. The streets of Metropolis. Smallville. Anywhere she could get her hands on. She would begin her reign of terror.
No one could stop her now.
---------------------------------
Jason had left after Bruce had called him. She assumed he needed to work or one of his siblings did a dumbass move. It was upsetting that they couldn't spend every moment together, but she knew that it was par for the course with Jason.
She was bored. She didn't have a job, her parents paid her bills if she focused on school. But she wasn't something to do, a reason to be having down days. She knew school gave her this, but it wasn't like it was every damn day.
A job would be every damn day. Hopefully. A reason to do so much in her life.
She figured she could work at Wayne Enterprises. But she didn't want to be that girl. The one who's fucking the CEO and is subsequently untouchable. You can't befriend her and talk sit, she'll tattle.
She wanted to be a normal working person. A colleague, not a boss.
Wayne Enterprises was a last resort for her. If she couldn't get hired anywhere else, she'd go apply thee. You don't fuck company property, she thought.
But she also thought fucking Wanye Enterprises "Property" was fun. and no one was really going to stop her, not even Bruce. Even though Bruce tried to lecture her and Jason, there was only so much he'd do. Barbara and Dick both worked at Wayne Enterprises and hadn't been reprimanded for that.
And obviously, they were having sex. They had been together for a while, Jason said.
Which, obviously they were having sex if they were together for that long.
She scrolled a little while for jobs, marking down a few she'd look further into. Not really anything exciting, she was still young, 1st year in college, a freshman. Not many prestigious places would hire someone her age. Especially while they're still in school.
There were only unpaid intern jobs in her field. And she wasn't about to fuck with not getting paid, even if it was her line of schooling. She didn't think it was worth it to put all of your efforts into a job that you weren't getting paid for.
A lot of kids thought her way, including her sister. Both of them grew up thinking that getting paid for work was necessary, her parents had always told them that. Even if her parents had strict religious views, they would still back her up if someone wasn't paying her, even if they fell out.
She thought if Bruce felt the same, that kids should be paid for what they do. He figured he did since he employed all of his kids once they were old enough to work at Wayne Enterprises.
She noticed Lexcorp, who had recently put up a building in Gotham, was hiring. She thought it would be funny if she went to work for her boyfriend's dad's competitor. She was tempted.
Worst comes to worst, she'd be a Lexcorp employee.
She, of course, would have to dress up for these interviews, and she had the clothes to do so, but she didn't, per se, want to wear them.
She also didn't want to go outside when trials were still raging. So, she figured she'd call Christopher's parents about getting him a lawyer and then scroll the pages for shopping. His parents finally had the time to deal with their son, because Christopher didn't want to interrupt his parents with him being an idiot.
She dialled.
"Hello?" his mom asked.
"Hey, Laura. It's Y/N."
"Y/N! Sweetheart, we've been wondering about you ever since, you know."
"Yeah, yeah. We can talk about it later I swear. So, I already told you about what Christopher did, right?"
"You did."
"He needs a lawyer, the man is pressing charges."
"Well, that's stupid. He has no right."
"Apparently he does."
"We'll get Christopher a lawyer. But how are you, darling?"
"I'm okay. Could be a hell of a lot better. I have faith in the court system."
"We're all worried about you, kiddo. You've wrapped yourself up in a lot of a mess recently."
"I know. It's weird. But I swear I'm strong enough to pull through, you've known me for what, 13 years? Give or take? I know how to handle myself."
"That doesn't mean we can't worry."
"I know, new city, new people. I swear behind the scandals I'm in that I actually have friends."
"I assume we'll meet this Jason eventually?"
"Eventually. We need to find the time between court dates, work. Adulting."
"You don't have a job?"
"Jason does. And I'm thinking about getting one to pass the time."
"Working to pass the time is a new thing, fascinating, you kids are."
"Nothing can make sense of all these things I've done, I know."
"Those sound like song lyrics."
"Sometimes songs are the best way to get all your thoughts compiled into one place, you know. I starred as Katherine Howard, Laura. I know how to convey emotion through art."
"I know. That's still one of the performances Metropolis holds on to, you know."
"I wish they didn't. But it is what it is."
"It's a good performance, kiddo."
She laughed, "Anyway. You get onto that lawyer. Christopher needs it right now."
"I will. Be safe. We love you."
"I love you lot."
Click. She thought about Christopher, and the bullshit he went through to save her.
She brushed the thoughts off and pulled out her journal. Scribbling down her sister's bird mask. She couldn't get that off of her mind. She could have sworn her sister made the thing out of actual bone.
It was like she threw a steampunk aesthetic into a plague doctor. She was certain there was more to it that she didn't know.

Curious Cat Pt 8 Ending.
Summary. Shigaraki, feared villain had been turned into a cat abd picked up by reader who takes care of him for a short time . He changes back , has a quickie and goes home feeling full of regret. Till you come to visit him
Tumblr media
Shigaraki made an effort to come visit you after that day at least 2 or 3 times a week, sometimes 4 if Kurogiri wanted him out of the hideout for a bit. You kept all the little cat toys and basket though and he always commented on it when he came over. You happily told him it put your mind at ease seeing it everyday after work. Usually he would just click his teeth in annoyance and tell you to take your clothes off but tonight was different…
“So what's so bad about this damn job.” He asked you sitting on the couch, arms folded and staring at the basket. You joined him hugging his arm snuggling up next to him sighing.
“Well. It's just a Diner but it's tiring .. and customers can be..”
“Can be what?” He looked down at you .
“..mean. Sometimes”
“Excuse me?”
You told Shigaraki all about the rude customers, how it's not your fault orders get messed up and how sometimes they try to touch you. He had asked you what they looked like and you told him thinking nothing of it. His arm shook you off and he put his hand in your hair, pinkie up. Being mean to Human.... “don't worry about that.” You tried to say something but he dropped the subject on you.
If Shigaraki came over on a day off he came over early to spend the day with you. It really did not bother you that he was a villain. Even though when you asked him how his day was he would usually say : “im closer to killing All Might,” or “ i blew up a building” . It didn't bother you. Because you knew somewhere inside him was a fussy cat who hated being alone. It made you laugh and Shigaraki would click his teeth and threaten to leave but he never did. Like a teenager running away to the stop sign down the street. He never made it off the porch.
Every friday he came over and you had to beg him for a cuddle night instead of fucking. He would only agree if you would put your hand in his pants and of course you did if it meant you would get cuddle time. You always picked the movie and oh my god the first night you pulled out a hero movie and Shigaraki almost dusted your damn house. So it was animated animal movies every friday. He hated it, but he secretly loved the smile on your face when you got to watch them. He always got a kiss on the lips when it was time for him to leave and a little bag of snacks for him and the League.
“I'm not a damn child, Human.”
“ then why do you take the bag Tomu?” You would giggle and kiss him again , sending him on his way.
••
Shigaraki walked down the street , hands in his hoodie clutching the little bag with cats on it, hood up. Usually Kurogiri warped him home but tonight he wanted to walk. He was approaching the diner when he saw the customers you described, he leaned on the building waiting till they came out. He followed them for maybe a mile till they were all alone, he grabbed each one on the arm turning them to dust and continued his walk home, smirking and eating a cookie.
Shigaraki put the bag on the bar and Toga jumped on them like always . Dabi snagged one and had to get one for Spinner and Kurogiri asked how his Leaders day was like he always did. No one teased him about being a cat anymore instead they asked when you were coming by now.
“ why would i do that.” He asked , annoyed.
“Cuz!!!!” Toga yelled stuffing her face.
“To bake cookies .” Dabi said, eating another.
Shigaraki rolled his eyes turning away thinking about it. Why would I share Human?, Human is mine. He folded his arms turning back to the League seeing how happy everyone was. Fuck.”fine. Ill have Giran pick her up “
“Yay!!!” Toga yelled, making Shigaraki wince.
“So whos gonna clean this dump?” Dabi asked, tipping the bag into his mouth for the crumbs.
“Uhm. Maybe we all could?” Spinner chimed in.
After an hour-long lecture from Kurogiri everyone was motivated to clean up the hideout.
••
You were so excited to bake for everyone you couldn't help but to buy cake and brownie mix too. Giran picked you up from your home and even opened the car door for you. You told him all about Shigaraki when he was a cat , all the times he fussed, tipped over his milk, and jumped in your shirt. It was all precious information for Giran.
He dropped you off and you saw a little sign on the door that said Welcome with a balloon tied to it. Blushing you opened the door going down the hallway to knock on the second door. Spinner opened the door shyly peaking over it and you waved at him, making him blush hard and run off to the bar . Toga pulled you in and you introduced yourself properly this time to her along with the rest of the League
. Everyone was happy to meet you and couldn't help but gush over you and the snacks you brought them. Spinner and Dabi took the bag and Toga asked if she could help you bake and when you agreed she ran to the kitchen as fast as she could.
Before you could join her you went to Shigaraki who was playing his Switch on the couch . You kissed his head saying hello and he just mumbled under his breath a hi’. You and Kurigiri shared a giggle and you joined Toga to bake.
••
You made brownies, a cake and cookies . The whole hideout smelled of heaven . Toga begged you to stay and Shigaraki shut it down and Toga argued with him.
“She's. perfect.”
“It's dangerous.”
“So are we?!?!?”
Shigaraki clicked his teeth and you pet Toga on the head. “Ill visit whenever Tomu lets me.”
Dabi tipped his head back on the couch . “At Least once a week. “
“Please ,” Spinner added.
“Fine.” He grabbed you taking you to the door and you waved to everyone, thanking them.
Shigaraki walked down the sidewalk, hands in his pockets ahead of you. Swiftly you caught up wrapping your arms around his smiling up at him. “Thank you, for letting me come over. I asked Kurogiri to warp your switch to my place by the way , so you can play it.”
“Uh huh. Thanks.”
You nuzzled into his arm enjoying the walk home, a smile on your face.
“Human.”
“Yes?”
“There's no telling when a lousy Hero will raid us . I can't have you there if it happens. “
You were quiet for a while, just squeezing his arm while you walked alongside him. “You're Not a bad person..”
He stopped. And looked down at you.
“ excuse me?”
“I sa-“
“I killed those customers that were giving you problems at your lousy job”
“You..?”
“ see? Bad person.”
You pulled his hood down and kissed him wrapping your arms around his neck making him walk backwards into an alleyway till he hit a building. He pulled away gasping for air and gave you an irritated look.
“Tomu!!” You smiled wiping your eyes. “Thank you!!!”
“..excuse me?”
“Now work will be better!! I won't be sad!!” You flashed him a smile and Shigaraki rolled his eyes pulling you close. “You're welcome. I guess i can figure out the day you ca-“ “rrr..”
“Tomu was that you?”
“What ?!? NO.”
“Rrr..”
“Tomu if your hungry i have-“
“Its NOT me!”
“RRRR!!!!”
You both looked down to see a box moving . You crouched down opening it and you squealed, turning to show Shigaraki. It was a white blueish kitten with messy hair on its head with red eyes. You hugged the kitten and Shigaraki kneeled down not knowing what to say. Well, shit.
“What are you going to call it?”
You cried tears of joy .
“Tenko!!!”

Jason might as well have not been loved at all. from his very beginnings, he grew up in an abusive family. His stepmother was addicted drugs and his father was an abusive criminal working under the most brutal crime lords in Gotham, He only met Batman because his father kicked him out of his house and he had to survive off of the street. He didn't even have a great time being robin, you see this in diplomats son, and of course death in the family, WHERE HIS MOTHER SOLD HIM OUT TO THE JOKER TO PREVENT HER REPUTATION FROM BEING TARNASHED. The poor kid wanted to see his mom and leave the robin mantle behind and his reward for finding her was a crowbar and explosion, WHICH MIGHT I ADD he still tried to save his mom from.
Even after he died, he couldn't get the Justice. He needed because joker made himself an ambassador of Iran, Batman made no attempt to kill Joker afterward either.
He was resurrected because some discount Superman punched a hole in the universe, causing him to be revived and having to DIG HIS WAY OUT OF HIS GRAVE to the surface.
Clayface assumes his identity in the hush storyline to try to give Bruce a red herring that that hush is Jason Todd, while essentially being winter soldier'd in nanda parbat by the League of Assassins. Now yeah, he's a little fine,I guess if you can call the state that he's in "fine"
But he has to live with the fact that his mom sold him out, and the fact that he, ever since childhood, has never known a moment of piece.

Of Blood and Bonds - Chapter 5
"Father you know I respect you." Damian said and everyone at the dining table stilled as they were about to get up and leave. "But I must admit, as my brothers would say, you've majorly fucked up."
Bruce sighed. He had thought about that - had Alfred scold him for having benched Damian - for doing as Damian had said and taking out his anger about his own failures on his other children. But that didn't make this any easier.
"Damian I know you're mad I didn't tell you about your sister-"
"Oh this is not about that. Well not entirely. They are connected but this is not about Marinette alone." When no one spoke, he took it as his cue to continue.
"You saw in her files that there were some vague details about her being possessed by an akuma. Did you figure out what they are? Because I have an its not pretty. Actually, it's bad enough to warrant an intervention of the Justice League as a whole but my sister tells me that they were told not to waste the JL's time."
His youngest's face was worryingly blank. It reminded him of all the times he was set upon something and right now it seemed that his new focus was his older sister. Bruce supposed, he should be thankful that Damian's attention towards her was not of the murderous kind.
"What do you mean?" He made sure to keep his voice free from emotions.
"From what she told me, they asked for help several times until someone from the JL dismissed their problems as a prank, a joke without any investigation or anything about their claims."
Someone was going to be hearing from Batman soon.
"And what about the akumas?"
"It's enough to need more than one member of the JL. I've see a video of one of the attacks, it's...horrifying and according to Marinette it was one of the tamer ones."
"Do you have them?" His sons all looked annoyed and he knew they were probably thinking that he was letting superhero work take precedence over his family again. But that was how he worked. He didn't know what to do about the situation with Marinette but this - this could find a solution to.
"There are videos of them online."
Damian seemed to take that as his cue to get up and walk away.
"I'll play the videos in the cave."
~
Marinette hadn't necessarily had the best time in the last years but one thing he had definitely learned was who were her real friends and who weren't.
It was before the worst month of her life but things had already started taking a turn for the worse for her at that point.
Her so called friends all started to believe Lila over her, started to - as she now knew - emotionally blackmail her, only gave her the time of the day whenever she did something for them or to scold her for whatever she apparently did for poor Lila.
She was oh so tired and every second she wasted made her feel more guilty.
Hawkmoth had come back more enraged than ever after the Miracle Queen incident and she had done the mistake of lending the more Miraculous out.
She had given Kagami and Luka both different Miraculous for them to fight alongside her because they both have strong spirits and a good resonance with several kwamis but... let's just say that she would never forgive herself for what they had to experience because of her.
In desperation, she tried to find other holders that she hadn't used before who resonated but that...that had been a huge mistake. She almost lost more than one Miraculous that day.
She was their Guardian. And that day she vowed that she would die first before letting something happen to the Kwamis.
She was fighting alone now. Chat Noir...Chat Noir was even more pushy about revealing themselves after the the chaos that had occured. He hindered more than he helped, never showing up on time.
Things had come to head one day as she walked into class. The whole incident had involved a bunch of sheep and a ripped sketchbook - hers to be precise.
It proved to actually be a relief to let go if them. She had never realized how much their 'friendship' had been dragging her down.
I got permission to use this fic as a reference for her backstory so check it out. Thanks for that btw.
That experience proved to be helpful later when she felt like there was no one she could trust.
Apprenticeship with Master Fu had since long taught her that it was better to feel than to see. She had learnt to recognise auras rather than faces and in the end that might have been her saving grace - or well at least the start of her path back to sanity.
She had learnt to see and remember the auras of her friends rather than anything else because afterall the soul didn't lie.
After everything, well her reliance on auras had only increased.
Meeting her brothers had been amazing and even more so now that it seemed that they wanted to have a relationship with her.
But one things that bothered her were their auras.
It wasn't that they were bad - it was that they were scarred, hardened and she could basically see that they had suffered in the past.
The worst of them were probably Jason and Damian. Their auras made it very clear that they had been dipped in the Lazarus pits.
Jason...Jason's soul had been corrupted at such a point that she doubted that the pits had been used for anything less than bringing him back from the dead.
And Damian - Damian's soul seemed to have some of the pits as a foundation. She gathered that he had been dunked into the pools more than once when he was a child. There was something else in his aura too that showed that he had died not long ago too.
There was also another aura that seemed to have to have linked with both of them which made her sure of their last fates and Marinette shuddered to think what had happened to them.
She had to remind herself that the past was in the past and while she couldn't change that, she could at least help them have a better future.
So, one could say, that she was nervous for this upcoming dinner.
~
The dinner didn't go as expected - at all.
Firstly, they were late. All of her brothers and sister were late, very very late. Marinette was not impressed, especially give that Damian wasn't answering his phone.
But this was Gotham, the few kwamis she had brought with her reasoned, there was probably a problem and wasn't it better that were safe inside than stuck outside and hurt?
Just as she was about to say screw it and transform using the fox Miraculous to see if she could help the bats, she felt the magic around the house shift.
Marinette focused in the disturbance and closed her eyes reaching out for their auras. She soon snapped her eyes open and let a smile come on her face - she knew those auras. But why were they entering from the window?
Marinette shrugged it off and signalled the kwamis to hide while she went to greet them.
She was not ready for the sight that she came upon. Her siblings were all in a state of disarray and it looked like they were trying to be silent.
They were of course failing miserably given what seemed to be a bullet wound in Jason and a stab would in Dick and the rest of them all seemed to have been beat up to at least some degree.
"What the fuck?" Marinette felt like the situation called for her language to be excused.
They all froze in place before slowly turning to look at her.
"Uh hey." Dick or should she say Nightwing because apparently she wasn't stressed enough gave her a short wave.
She cursed and buried her face in her hands. "Of course I can't have normal siblings."
"Siblings?" Black Bat seemed suprised. She couldn't recognize her aura, Marinette decided that she must have been Cassandra.
"You must be confused ma'am." Red Robin jumped in and Marinette rolled her eyes. "I'm not stupid Timothy." And then just to prove her point she point at each one of them in turn. "Jason, Dick, Damian and who I'm guessing is Cassandra."
"What makes you say that?" Tim seemed to be ever the player of words.
She sighed, knowing they wouldn't budge until she proved that she truely believed her words.
"Well, why else would you be here?"
"Uh because it was the nearest place we found to nurse our wounds and last time we checked this place was abandoned?"
"Let's say that's true. Wouldn't it make more sense for you to go a place where you could actually have access to supplies to treat your wounds? Not to mention the fact that that-" she pointed at the hole in Jason's shoulder. "-is a bullet wound and I heard no gunshot. And lastly, what a coincidence it is that Black Bat who is known to work in Hong Kong comes back to Gotham at the same time as my sister Cassandra who from what I've heard also is currently living in Hong Kong too."
No one replied.
"So do you want to continue arguing or are you idiots going to let me help you before you bleed all over my floor."
Unsurprisingly it was Damian who moved the first - it made sense, he was the one who had spent most time with her and at least had a modicum of trust in her.
He removed his mask and met her eyes. "Do you have a first-aid kit?"
She nodded. "Get in the bathroom and get those two in the tub." She nodded towards Dick and Jason. I'll bring it to you."
Marinette hurried to her bed room to find her probably over-packed first aid kit. She had brought it for herself so that in case of a bad akuma attack she could take care of her wounds - after all her cure took care of everyone else before her, she had enough scars to prove that not that she could distinguish them from those the cat had given her.
She was glad to see that they had followed her instructions. Jason and Dick were seated in her honestly huge tub and they along with the rest had made themselves comfortable, having discarded their armor.
She placed the first-aid kit down and kneeled next to Dick. She felt that the stove would in the stomach took more precedence.
Jason reached out for the kit but Marinette batted his hand away.
"You're injured, sit down quietly." She snapped and to everyone's surprise, he did as he was told.
Marinette started treating their wounds, thanking the kwamis that she had done a medical course as soon as she had realised that her wounds could not heal from the cure.
She had finally taken care of the more dangerous wounds and Marinette had enough of them squirming so she broke the silence "So, why in the world did you come here instead of going to your hyper-tech batcave with most certainly more medical facilities than my humble abode?"
She had to supress a smile as the boys looked among themselves. Finally it was Cassandra that replied.
"Did not want to miss dinner. You."
"Well you were already two hours late, you could just have sent me a text that you'd be a little more late."
"Didn't want to take chance."
Marinette smiled up at her. "Well I'm done, come on, I'll get you some clothes to change into."
"I don't think you'll have anything that will fit us."
"I'm a designer." She called over her shoulder. "I always have spares. Anyways, Cassandra-"
"Cass."
"Right, well Cass come with me, we're about the same size, you can take something of mine."
She led Cass to her bedroom and guided her to her wardrobe while she picked something for the boys.
She totally hadn't hoped to see her siblings during this trip and had this made something for them. Nope. Absolutely not.
She handed each of them their clothes. "Choose a room if you want, I have more than enough of them, then come down, I'm re-heating the food."
She smiled at Damian as he came down the stairs. "I tried my hand at some Arabic food. I hope you like it."
The boy looked awed. He walked to her and gave her a hug. "You're my new favourite sibling." Marinette laughed and pressed a kiss in his hair. "I love you too little brother."
She heard the disbelieving whisper of Demon Spawn? And looked up to see the rest.
She squeezed Damian's shoulder one last time before she pulled away, guiding him to sit down.
"Well dig in. You must be famished after your fight."
They did exactly that and soon were making their appreciation known.
"It's the first time I've attempted Arabic food, I don't know if I got the spices right.*
"It's delicious Pixie Pop. Don't worry.*
"Todd's right Mari. I haven't eaten anything this good since I came to Gotham."
"Really? Alfred didn't immediately dote on you and cook you all the food you wanted. "
He looked uncomfortable. "I was a difficult child back then."
"Was?" Jason snorted while Dick elbowed him.
Casssandra intervened. "You good at cleaning wounds. Hands stable."
"Yes well unfortunately it's not the first time I've had to do this."
"How come?"
"Did Damian tell you about the akuma attacks?" They nodded. "Well, Paris had since adapted to handle the akuma attacks. A lot of people have taken medical courses for extensive first aid to be able to help the unfortunate victims of an akuma."
"I thought that your superhero reversed all the damage."
"Well yeah. But Ladybug was insistent to make it clear that they couldn't bank everything on her. If she's taken down, everything's lost."
"This has been going for how many years. How do you still trust that hero?"
"And for how many years have the Joker been spreading his terror?" She asked drily and saw several of them recoil - Jason and Tim especially.
"Ladybug is doing all that she can only get so far with Chat Noir around."
"Chat Noir? I thought that he was her partner?"
"He's supposed to be but we'll these days he causes more trouble than he stops. People hope he doesn't show up because the battles are always over quicker when he's not there." She could see that they wanted to ask more but number one she didn't want to talk about Chat Noir and number two she felt like if she continued talking, she would slip up and say something she shouldn't know and the risk of them catching it was greater since they were themselves heroes.
"And anyways, Hawkmoth only comes out in a blue moon and that's only when he has a lot of faith in his plans."
"So there are a lot of these akuma attacks?"
"I guess it's kind of become a daily event by this point. People plan stuff taking it into consideration and if we're unlucky, there will be more than one in a day."
"So what type of akumas are there?"
"It depends really over what you've been akumatized. We've had a Pharaon, a Mime, Mr Pigeon and Mr Rat as well as Syren in the first year."
"Those seem like... interesting characters." Jason said.
"Wait until you hear this." Marinette snorted. "We had a Batman knock-off once, Owlman - he had his own electronic butler and everything."
The bats shared a look before they all bursted out laughing at once.
How could they not, imagining Bruce's face upon learning of this?
"You need to tell us this story."
Marinette was more than eager to comply.

It's too long so I'm gonna reblog the rest

Hi babe.
That is terribly angsty and now I’m intrigued.
(Just a note for babe not familiar with No Home for Dead Birds or Fracture: I write a scene in which Tim literally has a gun to head. This is not lighthearted angst, please be warned if you read this.)
**
At one time, his colors had been red, gold, and green.
At one time, he’d been part of something bigger, something important. A legacy.
At one time, he’d been able to fly without being afraid of falling.
Being Robin had been the epitome. Even with all the terrible things he’d endured, all the injuries, all the catastrophes, all the insane megalomaniacal baddies breathing down his neck, he wouldn’t have traded the tunic for anything in the world.
(Dick had known it, had known how painful it was for Tim give it up once his Dad found out.)
He would have died with the R on his chest and never had a single regret.
Realistically, he couldn’t have been Robin forever, and he’d known that someday he would have to give it up and either move on with his life as a regular person, or take on another name, another mask, to keep fighting the good fight.
He hadn’t expected Dick would take it without a thank-you or fuck you to mark the end. That hadn’t been in the plan.
But it’s fine because Dick was the first and Robin had been his anyway, right?
Right.
Wrong.
Staring down the .45 in hand, the gun his father hadn’t had the chance to use to save his own life, Tim Drake wonders how it all came down to this.
(Last one left standing. Of fucking course.)
How it had all come out so badly, how he could barely step foot back in Gotham, how he had to avoid the Manor, the Carriage House, his own family home. How he couldn’t pick up the phone or answer texts coming from his former team. How he could barely keep himself the fuck together now that Bruce was back. How his hands would start to shake when the Manor phone number popped up (Alfred). How his mind’s eye would go back to Dick at the Big Computer in the Batsuit, telling him they were still equals. How he would imagine what would happen if he hadn’t caught himself when that zip line was cut. How he would sit in his safe house, off the Bat radar, and mourn the times when he was actually–
(happy)
–part of a family.
The pictures from an old Vans shoebox, the ones he’d taken back when he’d had the run of Gotham, following Batman and Robin (Jason), are burning in the kitchen sink. He watches Nightwing’s blurry face melt away and pretends there aren’t tears in his eyes.
The old memorabilia from Haley’s Circus is in a storage unit outside the city, along with a box that has his last Robin suit.
The lawyer has strict instructions to deliver the key and a letter to his former adopted father, Bruce Wayne, upon news of his death so anything incriminating can be properly disposed.
(They wouldn’t need any of it anyway. They could just shred all of it and wash their hands of him. The Robin that never should have been.)
A map with all his safe houses would be send to Conner Kent, along with a letter of apology.
His favorite nerd shirts would go to Ives.
The sundries in his Perch would be for Steph, and the penthouse itself would go to Babs in case things in the theatre went sideways.
Bart would get a zip drive with all their old shenanigans on video, the only copies left once his systems uploaded relevant data to Titan’s Tower and his electronic footprint would be–
gone.
The box with the Red Robin costume he wore was already sealed and addressed to Jason Todd. The note on top was short and sweet: You were right. It never should have been me after all.
He’d already arranged for his share in Wayne Enterprises to be returned to Bruce Wayne immediately, handing him his family’s company back without any strings attached.
Months ago, he’d returned The Red Bird to the Cave when he was sure no one would be around to catch him. The implication that Robin would need the car one day right there in the fact he’d brought it back because honestly, it was never really his in the first place.
Alfred would get his pick of antiques from Drake Manor, and the house itself would be given to the city to be used as a halfway home for runaway teens. He’d made sure the funding would be there to run it for a few years. The donation was made in his mother’s name.
The hilt molds to his palm, the barrel glinting bright in the night. To his credit, his hands aren’t shaky when he slides the clip home and pulls the slide back to put one in the chamber.
(The team had been working fine without him for a while now. Even if they did need someone, there was another Robin to join the roster and keep them moving forward.)
An abrupt light in the darkness, his phone screen lighting up with a missed call notification.
Missed call: Dick the OG
Ironic since the last time he’d come this far, it had been him calling out to the last person he thought could pull him back.
(Not this time. He has a new little brother, a new Robin.)
Slowly, without putting down the .45, he presses the ignore when the phone starts buzzing against with another incoming call. He thumbs the button on the side to turn the phone completely off without listening to the voicemail.
The clip makes a difference, but the absurdity of it, of the last time he did this, was when his future self was a murdering, gun-toting Batman, and the only way he could see to stop it was to stop himself.
The press of the barrel is familiar, and not in that soothing kind of way.
He blinks, just blinks, and his face is wet, which is really stupid because no one is going to miss him any damn way.
His chest gets tight when he fingers the trigger guard, giving himself the time he needs to do it right. In the final moments, he inanely thinks about the time he was huddled against Dick, right after he'd almost tried cloning his dead best friends in an insane attempt to bring them back. It's really the last time he remembers being held, being warm, feeling like he still fucking mattered. It was Dick holding him tight with restraining, breathing against the top of his head, fingers buried in his hair.
It's when he could be weak while still in the mask, babbling to Dick about how he can't do this, he can't lose them all. He was crying then, too, when he told Dick about his mom and dad leaving, leaving, always fucking leaving. About how he got used to seeing their backs more than their faces. How he was left standing on his own for too damn long to just let it keep happening. He couldn't keep losing them, couldn't keep seeing people walk away, how it fucking breaks him.
And in the here and now, his chest hitches, eyes fluttering, hand tightening down because he'd said...and Dick had...
"But I'm here, Timmy. I'm always going to be your big brother!"
It had been the last time he'd been surrounded by the famed octopus hold.
(It was the last time for a lot of things.)
He laughed, smothered in Dick shoulder, something further away from a sob. "Then I guess you'll at least never leave me, right?"
"You will never be able to get rid of me. C'mon. We're going the hell home and having a movie day. Screw the Lazarus Pit, Robin. It's time for some R and R."
Dick had half-carried him to the waiting Batplane and talked him down out of trying to use the Pit for his own gain ever again.
The first knuckle rests on the smooth curve, a six-pound trigger.
(In the end, they all leave.)
(Not again.)
Conner's terrible mohawk and leather jacket.
Bart racing Wally at a hotdog eating competition.
Cassie running full tilt to throw herself at him when he'd come to Titan's Tower to ask them for help when Ra's was going to kill everyone Batman ever loved.
Raven nuzzling Gar out of plain sight so no one would think she was totally gone for him.
Jason coming to the Tower, alive good God, and the Robin he used to be super-imposed to be his hero and enemy in the same ghostly figure.
Bruce putting a hand on his shoulder on a ride back to the Cave, chasing the dawn, the Good work, tonight tired but sincere, and his whole body lights up.
His mother looking at peace in her coffin, a lily in her folded hands.
His eyes close on the out-of-the-way safe house, the plain beige walls, stripped and soulless. He keeps the team in his mind, the times he was happy.
Now.
Instead of a resounding boom followed by his grey matter splattering his personality, intelligence, imagination, him all over–
the wall to the safe house caves in under a super punch.
Conner is white as a sheet on the other side, brick and mortar crumbling under his hands. "No! Tim. Tim. Put. The. Gun. Down."
His mouth is dry and his brain pan full of nothing but pain and disappointment.
(But you brought it all on yourself, didn't you? The Robin nobody wanted. The son nobody asked for.)
He isn't numb enough to be calm, cool, and collected. "All...all you have to do–" a hitch in his breathing "–is walk away."
The meta floats in a little closer, hovering over the flooring instead of outside. His hands stretch out, gaze focused and intense.
"Can't do that, buddy. Looks like I should have been more of an asshole after all the League of Assassins shenanigans. Sorry, my bad."
Kon knows he's in trouble when Tim Drake doesn't laugh.
"Tim," he goes to serious in about two point five seconds because the hand holding that shiny automatic tightens enough for him to hear the screws in the hilt strain, "Tim. It's me here, okay? It's just you and me, just like it's always been. We’re besties, whether you're Robin or Red Robin or Tim fucking Drake because that guy is so damn cool." He inches closer, wondering if he's fast enough, wondering if he can really get to Tim in time–
Like the former Robin can read his mind, those violet-blue eye give him a blink.
"I’ve always wondered if you really are faster than a speeding bullet."
“No!”
(...as it turns out, he isn’t.)
