uhhhhh so this is from uhhhhh... the 'somehow 50k thing' that if there was more was hatched from, but, like.. soooo many chapters later, hehe

“Okay,” Bucky says, throwing his mixing bowl into the sink after pouring the last of the batter onto the griddle. “Whose turn is it for the Big Daddy?” “You should give it to Sam!” Mia shrieks predictably. She’s been clung to Sam’s side since he came down the stairs, now up on her knees on the bar stool. Sam hovers close, one arm loose around her waist for safety.  “Yeah?” Bucky takes the pan off the stove with a flourish and grins at them. “Can we all agree?” The girls murmur in excitement, but Bucky makes sure to get a nod from each of them before he starts the count. “Okay, one,” Bucky adjusts the pan in his hand, backing up so he has adequate room. “Two,” he looks at his audience, glancing at Sam for only a second before looking away again. “Three!” Bucky flips the giant pancake expertly, and Sam is half-surprised Becca allows him to do it without trying to sabotage it. They all applaud excitedly as Bucky takes a bow. Sam catches his eye when he stands again, and they share a brief, smile before turning to help Becca hand out the dishware.
