Text
Part of the tragedy of Epic is the fact that Odysseus’ crew put him on a pedestal after the battle of Troy, in which not a single one of his men died, and the moment he made a mistake with the Cyclops and showed he was just a man like the rest of them, they started losing trust in him, bit by bit, leading Odysseus’ descent into a monster. In this essay, I will—

abatina :   is there anything in life your muse has changed their mind about over time   ( due to becoming more educated on the topic ,   certain experiences  ,   etc .) , or that they   would   change their mind about under certain circumstances ?
cassie is the foremost expert on why you can’t trust gods. esp apollo. but also she’s like- emotionally and physically 15ish so she’d actually be excited to learn about the modern world, and everything that’s happened since her death.
acanthus :   is your muse deceptive ,   or willing to lie or deceive to achieve certain means ? why or why not ?
yeah- i think. being accused of lying for literally most of your life and being cursed to be compelled to tell the truth by a god who you were literally sworn to serve as a literal child, who tried to get you to break your oaths with him and gave you powers, then retaliated when you chose to uphold your oaths as a priestess in training- which like ; you were fucked either way in that situation.
so cassie is very good at twisting words, lying by omission, getting people to draw conclusions- but she usually chooses not. but she can, she will, and she has deceived others. ( like. if odysseus can do it so can she <3 )
aloe :   how does your muse handle grief ?
EXTREMELY poorly. its uh. she’s just doing her best but she does not take it well at all.
amaryllis :   what is something or someone that your muse takes pride in ? how do they express that pride ?
cassie is VERY proud of her status as a trojan princess, as a ( former ) priestess of the twin gods, as a seer, of all her siblings. ( yes, that does include paris. she is proud of him, even if she's still mad at him )
she carries herself like a royal advisor and as a high priestess ( which, had apollo not cursed, had troy not fallen, and had hektor lived- she probably would’ve been served his court directly in some capacity and a royal / high preistess) she talks about life at court, she offers advice to guda wherever she can, offers help to the sick and injured in chaldea, and and takes her duties as a servant very seriously, in a very childish way.
anemone :   how does your muse view the world ;   as a cruel   &   unforgiving place ,   a land full of wonders ,   or something in - between ? where does that world view come from   ( what experiences ,   life lessons ,   etc .) ?
cassie sees the world as both cruel and wonderful. she’s awestruck for this proper second chance at living. but like- she’d rather get unsummoned before getting along with achilles but like. HE DID drag her brother’s corpse around the city for several days and demand her youngest sister as a blood sacrifice before the greeks could leave troy. plus. everything that happened afterwords.
cassie vc the world is filled with many  wondrous, beautiful and lovely things, and it is also full of hatred and cruelty, but what you choose can influence what’s around you. also fuck those greek asshats
angelica :   where does your muse draw inspiration in life ? what motivates them ?
cassie is like 75% motivated spite. esp against greek illiad characters and also apollo. but the remaining 25% of is her genuine happiness to be with her family and also her feelings about guda because she also sees them as her family, and as a reliable older sibling.
