Until we were swallowed whole by it

Filling the piney woods with its breath

Coming from the Brenholdt bridge

Overwhelmed by strange hints of copper and hospitals

Funeral homes and lilacs

The tickletongue of death

Breathing hungrily down our stiffening necks

My friends with me, our hands tucked in each other's fists

When it spoke out of the strangled, desecrated quiet,

"Red Rover, Red Rover,

Send Jackie over to my lips....

Don't worry, little ones,

I'll be taking my turn next"

Then I remember waking in my bed

Drenched in a river of tears and icy sweat

Sore and dirty

Feeling broken

Covered in last night's sick

Under my peeled-up nail bed was a dried and crumbled red

I swear I didn't know it was the last I'd ever see of them

Spinning around the drain

But I'll vow now on my emptied fridge and crossed out grocery list

No matter what happens between here and forever, I'll never drink again

Oddsweet needs lots of sunlight! ALL THE SUNLIGHT, JUST FOR ODDSWEET.

Probably several hours minimum, but they’ll definitely grow up stronger the more sunlight they get!

Deino has become a climbing gym for the kiddos!

Marseille and Oddsweet are so excited about a new friend that they forget all about the snacks, but Dakota hasn’t forgotten.

“Got any beanses?” He asks, climbing all over Deino.
