i've written octo fics. the tentacle related research i did both haunts and amazes me — like that one time scientists gave a bunch of octopuses MDMA and they suddenly became cuddly & their tentacles started changing colors rapidly. like, what!! that's nuts!!! that's so cool!!! i wish someone would give me MDMA! also, they have horrifying beaks underneath their tentacles. my immediate thought about that was what if an octo person also had a beak in that spot and someone tried to put their dick in it. not cool!!!

when it comes to more mundane, but also very stupid, searches, at one point i found myself trying to research whether or not the waiters at a particular restaurant dean & cas were visiting (in this story; they were at the oasis on lake travis in austin) wear nametags. i've also looked at the wine menu in a specific restaurant, then searched which one probably goes the best with steak, and all of this was fucking pointless because it was dean POV and he's not exactly a wine aficionado (ch 15 of this dcj fic; they go to vince young steakhouse in downtown austin).

i can't even remember what nonsense i was looking for when working on my first dragon story, but at one point i found myself clicking on an academic article about the cellular makeup of lizard scales and realized i had gone off the rails.

Erasure teilen einen Remix von Kim Ann Foxman zur neusten Single "Secrets", mit denen Andy Bell und Vince Clarke erst kürzlich das Album "The Neon Remixed" abgekündigt hatten, das ab 30. Juli über Mute erscheint.

Der neue Mix der Wahl-New Yorkerin (Hercules & Love Affair, Pleasure Planet) besticht durch überlagerte Synthesizer, stampfende Dancefloor-Beats und elektronische Breakdowns, die die wabernden Synth-Pop-Vibes des Duos in einem anderen Licht erstrahlen lassen.

"The Neon Remixed" enthält neben der neugeteilten "Secrets"-Version eine Auswahl von befreundeten Künstler:innen, die das Original-Album “The Neon” aus dem letzen Spätsommer - übrigens das erfolgreichste Album der Band seit 26 Jahren - neu bearbeitet und geremixed haben, darunter auch weitere Interpretationen von u.a. Hifi Sean, Octo Octa, Paul Humphreys (OMD), Gareth Jones, Brixxtone und Theo Kottis.
