Welcome to another OC Saturday!!!! Hope y’all have had a great past couple of weeks!!! Today we have an additional fandom to riverdale added: Harry Potter! And it’s also adult week! (Where we showcase older ocs that deserve more love!)

Blurb:

“So, uh, what was it like growing up with my dad?” Robbie asked his uncle. Ever since Andy Macdermot shows up on the front porch four days ago, Robbie had a lot of questions. Andy wasn’t at all like his older brother, Russell was loud and boisterous, whereas Andy was more of a wallflower. He had a certain quality about him that Robbie couldn’t help but feel drawn to like he was looking at a future version of himself.

“Your dad was….” Andy paused for a moment, running a hand through the wisps of his stringy gray-blonde hair, “He was a lot? Always was the big man on campus, with the prettiest girl on his arm. The polar opposite of what I was” The man laughs, picking absentmindedly at the loose string along the hem of his flannel shirt.

Robbie sits up a little straighter, suddenly taking a bit more interest in the conversation. His dad never did all that much talking about his high school days, and he mentioned his younger brother even less. “Well…what were you like when you were my age then?”

Andy laughs to himself for a moment, like he was suddenly taken aback by the a washing of unpleasant memories about his adolescence. “You know, I wasn’t a cool guy at all. Ever — not like your dad. I was too tall and too skinny; all ears and no discernible personality.” He chuckled and looked over at the corner of the basement where Robbie’s well-worn drum kit sat. “I got really into horror movies and had started using our dad’s camcorder to make these shitty little videos where I melted my old toys with our dad’s blowtorch…classic nerd shit”

Andy is chill, talented, and personable. Go give him some love!

Uma turns around, her hand clutching her chest.

'Derek,' she sighs. 'Never sneak up on a woman like that again.'

'My bad,' he chuckles with his hands raised. 'I thought you heard me coming.'

She sighs, slowly dropping her arm to her side.

'Everything okay?' Derek asks, stepping closer to Uma.

Uma shrugs, still furious about earlier.

'Why don't we get out of here, go across the street, and get you some good coffee?' he suggests.

'Thank you,' Uma smiles, taking the cup from Derek's hand.

'You know it's no problem,' he states. 'So, what's going on? Why are you so upset, aside from your kids getting hurt?'

'I just got back from the school,' Uma explains. 'Weatherbee wanted to see me.'

Derek furrows his eyebrows.

'Why?'

'Well,' Uma sighs as she drops a sugar cube in her coffee. 'He wasn't exactly thrilled to see the school in such terrible shape, and he wants to punish the ones who are behind it.'

'By doing what?' he scoffs.

'He's talking to the board about "transferring all Southside students" as if he'd do this had been a Northsider,' she complains, stirring hard enough to spill some coffee over the rim.

Derek hums, slowly stirring his coffee.

'You'd think this whole division would die after all these years,' he comments. 'I'm happy Mitchell is nowhere near this crap,' he adds, taking a sip.

'Oh good,' Uma smiles. 'How is he doing?'

'He's in Centerville,' he answers, putting the spoon down.

'He's taking a business class. I've been making some space in my shop for him.'

'Oh, why?' Uma wonders.

'He wants to start a coffee shop,' he smiles. 'He made a deal with Melo's Bakery to sell some of their pastries. For a fair price,' he smirks.

'He wouldn't be your son if he didn't,' Uma jokes.

Whist is a good father and an agreeable man. He’s easy to get along with and he’s got a lot of wit. Go give him some love!!

Character Introduction

Blurb:

James takes a step closer to the house, his eyes glued to the red door hidden behind the branches.

Another step closer triggers the porch light, a faint yellow hue lighting up the property, uncovering old furniture hidden in the unmaintained yard.

James moves closer to the porch, taking in more relics of former residents with every step.

His eyes turn back to the red door, the light exposing the cracks in the paint.

The branches crack as he carefully pushes part of it aside, standing in front of the door.

James takes a deep breath, slowly raising his hand. A deep croak takes his attention away from the door, his hand hovering a few inches from it.

Taking a few steps back, James notices a raven sitting on the eaves, leaning forward.

The raven croaks again as it spreads its wings, flapping them frantically.

James takes more steps back until the raven calms down, returning to its stoic pose.

He takes another look at the porch when he senses someone's watching him.

Turning around, he sees a small girl standing on the sidewalk, her face blocked by the branches poking through the iron gate.

'Evening,' James says.

The girl doesn't answer, not moving an inch.

'Are you alone?' he continues, moving towards the gate. 'I'm not sure if that's safe.'

She shrugs, never breaking eye contact.

'Never been bothered by anyone,' she comments.

'What were you doing there?' she asks, her heading nodding to the house.

James shrugs, taking a quick look at the house behind him.

'Nothing much,' he answers. 'Just looking.'

'It was calling you, wasn't it?'

James furrows his eyebrows shortly, taking a step forward.

'It's okay,' she says. 'It calls me, too. It wants you to listen.'

'What happened in there?' James asks as he joins her on the sidewalk.

The girl looks at the red door.

'Something that changed everything,' she whispers.

Spooky is mysterious and definitely lives up to her name. I love this lil spunky teen and Laurien needs to NOT hurt this bb. 👀 bc I know u will. Go give her some love!

Spades pops up from behind the counter.

‘Gem!’

‘I got your order!’ she chants, holding up two boxes of brownies.

Spades grins, reaching over the counter, his hands making a grabbing motion to the boxes.

‘Well, part of your order,’ she adds. ‘Emilio thought it’d be fun to make flour bombs and I ran out.’

Spades chuckles, kneeling down to put the brownies away.

‘It’s not funny,’ she scolds, flicking him on the forehead.

‘It’s flour bombs,’ Spades laughs as he rubs his fingers on the sore spot.

‘I’ve done worse. Hell, you’ve done worse.’

‘Which he can’t know about,’ she stresses, followed by Spades pretending to zip his mouth.

‘But he did hit a couple of Northsiders, so I’ll let it be,’ she continues, causing Spades to laugh.

‘Any good ones?’ he asks.

‘I think one or two were from the fight back in March,’ Gemini replies. ‘Not the ginger one, though.’

‘Is one of those guys the one with the-‘ Spades says as he puckers his lips.

‘No,’ Gemini answers, holding back a smile.

‘Shit, that would’ve been fun,’ Spades mutters.

‘That’s not nice, Spades,’ she taunts.

‘Neither is setting our bikes on fire,’ he grumbles. ‘Didn’t stop him.’

Gemini opens her mouth but stops when Spades holds up his hand.

‘Please,’ he sighs. ‘Don’t give me the mom lecture.’

Gemini raises her eyebrows, folding her arms.

‘Or the mom pose.’

Gemini presses her lips, slowly letting her arms fall.

‘Thank you for the brownies, though,’ Spades grins.

Gemini squints her eyes, a small smirk on her face before she turns around.

Gemini is a great example of the mom friend we all know and love. Her presence is definitely needed in the company of the southside seven. Go give her some love!

Orson can’t believe his eyes.

Walking toward him, in the flesh, is an alien. Bright green, 5’3, shiny and spectacular.

It keeps coming closer, and closer, and closer until it bumps right into him, bouncing off of him as if it was inflated.

“Marcus,” He hears a soft voice hiss behind it, “I told you to watch where you’re going!”

Orson cranes his neck over the alien to find a short, raven haired girl in a bright pink dress standing just a couple inches shorter than the alien.

Pixie looks up at Orson, wide-eyed, an apologetic smile on her face. “Please excuse my son, I’m still teaching him how to use his manners,” She scowls at the back of the alien’s head.

Orson doesn’t know what to say. He wants to say so much.

Your son is cute.

I want him to be my son.

I think I’m in love with you???

Pixie just takes Marcus’s hand in her own, smiling over at Orson, “Anyway, we have to get home. I’m teaching Marcus how to make chicken parm tonight. Come to apartment 322 if you want some.”

And with that, Pixie takes off with Marcus, leaving Orson stunned and craving chicken parm.

I love pixie so much! She’s a big ball of chaotic energy who is eccentric and a very accepting person. Go give her some love!!!!

‘What did you do, kid?’

Viper shrugs, leaning on the bars.

‘Does it matter?’ she argues. ‘Nowadays, they’ll just throw us Southsiders in if we even talk to a Northsider.’

The deputy nods, peeling an orange as he leans on the desk.

‘I’ve never seen you here,’ Viper states.

‘How often are you here for you to notice that?’ he counters.

Viper pushes herself off the bars, turning her back to the deputy to hide her smirk, not wanting to show he got her.

‘Deputy Anderson. I just moved here,’ he explains. ‘Found a badly beaten kid against a tree in Pickens Park first day I arrived,’ he adds, taking a wedge from his orange.

Viper turns around, shuffling her feet.

‘Some guy talked shit about my mom,’ she speaks. ‘And I threw a beer can at his head.’

Anderson raises his eyebrows.

‘They arrested you for throwing an empty beer can at a guy’s head?’

Viper shakes her head, her lips pressed.

’You threw a full beer can at a man’s head?’

‘An empty beer can just don’t do the trick,’ she jokes, causing Anderson to snort, covering his mouth.

‘So, how screwed am I?’ Viper asks.

‘Depends,’ he replies. ‘I’m thinking community service, maybe juvie, if it was on purpose,’ he explains, putting an orange wedge in his mouth.

Viper scoffs, her arms folded against her chest.

‘If it was on purpose?’

The deputy nods as he swallows, putting the rest of the orange on the desk.

‘I mean,’ he starts, rubbing his hands together. ‘Where did you get the beer can?’

‘From the tub?’ Viper answers, her eyebrows furrowed.

‘Which was filled with water and ice, I suspect?’

Viper nods, resting her hands on the bars, waiting for him to continue.

‘So, if you grabbed a beer can before you started to yell at him to-‘

He leans on his right, reading the form.

‘To “Go back to the North, you ugly shithead”, and you happen to use your hands a lot when you yell, the beer can could’ve just slipped out of your hand, and landed on his face by accident,’ he claims, smiling as he sees Viper’s bemused face.

‘You’re the weirdest cop I’ve ever met,’ she mentions. ‘You’re really giving me advice to get out of trouble?’

‘I’ve been here for a couple days now,’ he starts. ‘Caught up on the paperwork. Lots of murder, drugs-related murder, murder by relatives, a kid got shot in front of the station. An asshole having a beer can thrown at his head doesn’t seem so bad after reading all of that.’

Viper snorts, her eyes focused on the door.

‘Any chance you can become the new sheriff?’ she suggests.

Anderson laughs, getting back on his feet.

‘Sounds great,’ he admits. ‘But I have a feeling there might be other deputies who’d want to be sheriff, and they don’t want to lose to the newbie.’

The door opens, Minetta entering the room.

‘You’re free to go,’ he says, walking over to the cell. ‘Your mother’s here.’

‘Oh fuck,’ Viper mutters as Minetta opens the door. ‘Any advice about this, deputy Anderson?’

‘Stay out of trouble for a while,’ Anderson teases.

Viper is a snarky lesbian who I adore. Im also excited to see this friendship develop between her and deputy Anderson. Go give her some love!!!

‘I threw a beer can at a man’s head.’

‘They arrest you for throwing beer cans at people’s heads now?’ Phoenix grunts.

‘When they’re full? Yes.’

Phoenix snorts, leaning back until he almost falls off the stool.

‘I’m surprised they let you out,’ he jokes.

‘Yeah,’ Viper smirks. ‘A “little” birdie told me that if I pretend it’s an accident, they got nothing on me.’

‘Byrdie?’ Phoenix says, furrowing his eyebrows. ‘Why would she tell you that? I thought she’d be avoiding you since your mom sucker-punched her.’

Phoenix is a chaotic, pyromaniac who is easy to love! Go give him some love!

Blurb:

“It’s your turn,” Talia would murmur to her husband as she molded herself around her body pillow, trying to soak up as many hours of half-sleep that she possibly could. With a groan, Russell would push himself up from the depths of the flannel bedsheets, grey sweatpants hanging low on his developing beer gut as he shuffled his way through the darkness and into the nursery.

“C’mon buddy,” He would mutter, clumsily picking up Robbie under his arms and nuzzling the fussy baby against his bare chest. Russell bounced the baby up and down in the way the nurse said should be soothing to the child, but was proving to be the opposite. He can hear Talia tossing and turning though the thin walls, a Mother’s ear was always tuned to the needs of their child. Robbie hiccuped, a soft sound that was less obtrusive to the ears than his cries. Looking into his son’s teary brown eyes, Russell feels a pang of something, unlike anything he’d ever felt before. He carries the boy into the living room, knocking over picture frames and novelty snow globes as he searched the shelves with one arm before he finally found was he was looking for. The hard plastic of the cd player was cold in Russell’s hands, the thin plastic headphones clattering as they dragged against the shag carpet as he made his way over to the couch. Being enveloped by the plush cushions, Russell rests baby Robbie against his chest as he untangles his headphones and switches the CD player on. Already knowing what disc is tucked inside it, Russell skips all the way to track six, pushing the headphones down around his neck and turning up the volume so that they both could listen:

The peaceful, rhythmic finger-plucking of the guitar is soft in the crackly headphone speakers, as soothing circles against the soft skin of Robbie’s small back, trying his best to lull the child to sleep for at least a few more hours. Robbie stirs against his father’s chest, tiny toes curling and uncurling as he began to breathe easier. His chubby baby fist reaches to close around one of his dad’s long fingers and Russell finds himself nuzzling his nose into the barely-there tufts of towhead blonde hair on Robbie’s head.

“Someone told me there’s a girl out there, with love in her eyes and flowers, in her hair….The sea was red and the sky was grey, Wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today”

The music is quiet enough that Russell can hear his son's soft snores, giving the man a sense of relief knowing that he would be able to get some shut-eye that night. “Definitely my son,” he murmurs into the darkness, laughter bubbling as Zeppelin kept playing and Robert Plant kept crooning on about beginning again in California.

“Don’t tell your mom, but this is who I named you after…” Russell whispered into the sleeping baby’s ear, pulling his son closer as he restarted the song and closed his eyes before dozing off on the couch.

Russell is a sweet ol dad who has some communication problems at times. His passion for music is rather incredible and pretty darn endearing. Go give him some love!!

‘Not sure they’d let you in, with your hair,’ she jokes as a server approaches them.

‘Hello, ladies,’ she smiles. ‘I’m Veronica, I’m your server for tonight. May I take your order?’

‘Hi, can I get a Chock’lit milkshake?’ Flo asks.

Veronica nods, turning to the other girl, raising her eyebrows as she notices the girl staring directly at her.

Veronica forces a smile.

‘Can I can help you with something else?’

‘Sorry,’ the girl speaks. ‘You just look familiar.’

‘Yeah, I’ve been pretty hard to miss these last months,’ Veronica sighs.

‘Weren’t you the one who ordered that big bouquet of tulips, about a month ago?’

Veronica furrows her eyebrows. ‘What-‘

‘My name’s Delilah Jane, my parents are florists,’ she explains.

‘Oooh, Jane’s Garden!’

‘Yeah!’ Delilah exclaims. ‘Sorry, I didn’t mean to be creepy.’

‘Oh no, it’s fine,’ Veronica assures her.

Delilah nods, tapping her fingers on the menu in front of her.

‘What can I get you?’ Veronica asks.

‘Can I get a strawberry milkshake? And, uh, do we want fries, Flo?’

‘Always,’ Flo laughs.

I was actually wanting to ask you guys a couple of questions!

So, Number 1; Is it cool with you guys if I do something like OC Saturdays?  It won’t affect my normal posting, and I’ll keep anything OC related to only Saturdays.

And Number 2; Fallout New California will be coming out in a couple of months, and when it does, would you guys be interested in watching a playthrough of that and New Vegas? I’ve never streamed before, but I thought it might be fun!

Anyway here’s Richard “Dick” Bransfield, 21 years old.

He was born in the Vault, so he never really had ‘surface sickness’. His parents, Joseph and Becky did though. They were the vault chaplain and seamstress respectively, and Dick was in food prep. He was set to be the chaplain after his dad retired, as assigned by the G.O.A.T., though he never really wanted to be.

When reclamation day comes around, Dick’s really excited actually. He’s never seen the surface, and he’s eager to be able to build something of his own; to not be in his dad’s shadow. He is a little worried about the sci-fi horror stories he and the other vault youths pass around about ‘malicious mutated monstrosities’ though...
