RIGHT I SHOULD UPDATE THIS BLOG WITH WHAT'S GOING ON IN MY LIFE

-got a full time job, like a legit career in my field with benefits and a pay scale that increases annually and everything!!!!

--(waiting for benefits to kick in rn though. lol. next month I'll finally get to see a dentist again yaey 💕)

-I'm verrrrrrrry tired right now BUT I've been drawing most days after work because the regular schedule has been really good for me!!!

--adjusting is really hard though!!!!!!

--My work runs on 7-to-10 week cycles and I'm starting from scratch right now. HOWEVER, once I have all of my materials ready for each cycle, I'll have to do barely anything outside of work hours because it'll all just be minor adjustments!!!!! I'm on week 2/9 right now so I'm still scrambling a bit to get everything done every week

BUT

-I swear to god I'll have the redblue wedding up on valentines day. or at LEAST the lead-up to it. 😤😤😤

.....so the hoenn rangers coexistence force that you see in ORAS, yeah? that show that sort of got abandoned in popularity? it's clearly based on the super sentai series(es)?

and I was thinking oh yeah, cool, so something based on that would have like 30-35 seasons max, probably 20 episodes per?

...it's about 45 series with about 50 episodes each, about 20 minutes each. so for gene to get through 8 seasons in 3 weeks...

400 episodes divided by 1 hour/3 episodes = 133 hours. 133 hours divided by 3 weeks = about 44 hours per week.

they were watching the equivalent of 6 hours of hoenn rangers per day.

nowwwww, we can be a bit generous here and assume that Hoenn Rangers fell off at least a few years before 2014, considering that all the merch around Hoenn in ORAS is old... so capping it at 32 seasons seems reasonable.

To me, the series that matches the best (superficially) is the 1992-3 series Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger... But it's probably safe to say they're not based SOLELY on one single series, especially since the colors of the heroes in HRCF are different -- red, green, yellow, and blue yeah, but also white and maroon instead of black.

(super sentai fans tell me if I'm wrong please 🥺)

...drawing a late halloween doodle, I've realized that I haven't drawn the relative heights of the villains aside from guzma standing next to cyrus (gene's height/5'08"), archie and maxie, and lysandre and ghetsis,,,,,,,

I haven't drawn guz standing next to giovanni since the updog comic, so I don't have a good height reference for him. since I'm already ignoring guz's hair being black in canon (confirmed in the anime and the beta proposal for him), I might as well keep ignoring the canon rainbow rocket villain heights lol

MAN. LYSANDRE'S HOUSE TOOK THREE DAYS TO MAKE IN ACNH. it was hard figuring out a balance between his fancy tastes and modern/minimalist tastes, not to mention the layout of the house being similar to but not identical to gene's. WHEW.
