Caitjinx as Pirate x siren

oh, absolutely! if you guys follow me on twitter (bluecxmplex), then you may have seen me talking with some of my mutuals about a caitlyn/jinx, jinx/seraphine pirate au!

when it comes to caitjinx specifically, i imagine jinx to be the pirate (see. the arcane art book in which jinx was originally supposed to be a pirate) and caitlyn to be the siren.

jinx is originally from bilgewater and mans a ship with her older sister vi, and her adoptive brothers mylo and claggor. her father vander was a fisherman who taught them all how to sail. naturally, the gang’s penchant for trouble and impoverished upbringing led them to become pirates. a true rags-to-riches story. they’re self made! entrepreneurs, even.

jinx sets sail by her lonesome one day against the advice of her father and siblings, but she caught wind of a merchant ship sailing through, stock-full of goods, and she’s not willing to pass up the opportunity. a storm hits unexpectedly, and jinx finds herself ship-wrecked, washed up onto a sharp rock jutting out of the lapping waves.

a soft sound cuts through her mounting frustration and desperation. the sound of a woman singing. jinx’s ears instantly perk up, her head whipping in the direction of the sound. when she looks out into sea of blue, she only just catches a blip of indigo. the voice grows louder, and the blip gets closer, revealing itself to be a woman.

if jinx were in her right mind, she might question why there’s a woman swimming in the middle of the turbulent ocean, and why said woman is singing, of all things. but jinx is entranced. the mystery woman’s voice is the most bewitching thing jinx has ever heard. when the woman draws nearer, jinx is even more taken by her beauty.

jinx says nothing. she simply lowers to her knees on the rock’s surface and leans closer the woman, her eyes locked onto piercing blue irises with flecks of gold. not even the slow curve up of the woman’s lips draws jinx’s attention away from her eyes.

caitlyn coaxes jinx into the water, bringing her beneath the surface without a fight. if jinx had been previously familiar with sirens (given the fact that vander was a fisherman, i’d be surprised if she hadn’t heard the legends), all knowledge goes out the window. the only thought in her mind is that she needs to be close to this woman. to be with this woman.

when jinx begins to drown the further they sink, caitlyn, for the first time in her life, takes pity on the pirate. jinx is too pretty and too young to die. the flicker of fear and panic in her violet eyes is more unpleasant for caitlyn than it is satisfying or exhilarating. so caitlyn stops singing, freeing jinx of the trance, and releases her from the deadly embrace.

jinx claws her way back up with what little breath she has remaining. once she breaks the surface, she splutters and chokes, spewing out sea water and flailing her limbs in an attempt to tread water. the woman- siren joins jinx moments later and watches curiosly as jinx empties her lungs and the contents of her stomach.

jinx lashes out at the siren peering at her from under hair that now looks black, darkened by its slick, wet state. the siren still looks stunning, which only serves to make jinx even more incensed. the siren stares blankly at jinx, studying her, and jinx wonders for a moment whether or not this creature can speak english. she can’t recall what language the song was in.

“you’re without a ship.”

jinx is startled by the accented voice that flows from dark red lips. she continues to tread in place and slaps her hands down into the water angrily. “yeah, i know! i also almost fucking drowned thanks to you!”

“but you didn’t. i spared your life, and i’ve yet to receive a ‘thank you’.”

on the flip side - jinx is the one who canonically has a great singing voice (see. “get jinxed!” sung and produced by jinx herself). so jinx as the siren and caitlyn as the pirate should also be considered!

the benefits to this scenario is seeing caitlyn in loose white blouses tucked into high-waisted trousers. and a pirate hat, of course. that, and jinx’s long, cyan hair flowing in the water behind her as she makes her approach. jinx is alluring in her own, unique way. there’s something dangerous about her, which makes her being a siren very fitting. she is dangerous.
