Semester 1 of 3rd year ended on a high, i managed to get above 75% in all my units which I was quite happy with. I finished my 3 week hospital placement in the Acute Medical Unit and it was so intense but such an amazing learning experience, and then thankfully got a 3 week break to relax and get out of the city for a few days.
I really needed a break, my vyvanse was severely impacting my sleep and for most of prac I was on the verge of a menty b but I have change to short acting Dex and that seems to be working better for me!
Semester 2 has started and I am feeling ready and motivated! First Class Honours, I am coming for you!

Don’t you hate it when you put something off for ages, and it takes you no time at all to do it. So you put it off for no reason 🙃

A bit about me!
I’m Clancy, and I’m 24 and living in Perth, Western Australia. I am a 2nd (2/4) year Occupational Therapy student at Curtin University. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive type) but I’m also a perfectionist. This combo of traits is causing me to really struggle with my studies as it leads to intense procrastination due to a fear of not being good enough.
Here’s a bit more about me ✨
Why are you going to school?
I finished high school in 2015 and started a psychology degree, I alway knew I wanted to be in healthcare but at the time i was not in the headspace to study, as I have had struggles with mental illness. After that I moved to Canada for a break where I lived for 18 months. During the pandemic, I realised I had little direction in my life, so I decided to go back to uni, and somehow fell into OT and I absolutely love it. I love helping people and learning peoples stories, so this is the career path for me.
What do you do for fun?
I love to hike and go to the beach and get outdoors. I really value adventure and new experiences so anything that gets me out of my house is something I enjoy.
When do/will you plan to graduate?
Hopefully 2024, but I have struggled this semester with an overloaded study load, so I’m not sure how I’ll go which might put me back a year. So 2024 or 2025
What is the purpose of this tumblr?
I am trying to find a community of people with similar paths who can inspire me to do my best study and get through university even with my mental health struggles.
