BEASTLIFE QUICKLY EXPLAINED by Bree “the breester” mcybree (navibree)

Beastlife is a fan-hosted life series by unidingo. It is currently on its fourth season. There are two leagues that run simultaneously; this summary covers Saturday League only.

SEASON 1

standard 3rd life rules. I actually know very little about this season, so we’re going with bullet points based on what I’ve gathered:

The Mountaineers (four person alliance) is formed.

so is the opposing team: Jungle’s Edge (violent three person alliance)

Kiwiibird (Kiki) and Fishiecomics of the Mountaineers get minecraft married. They wear salmon heads around and do crack. I think.

overlyechidna is the first out. A peaceful funeral is held, which sets the precedent for future seasons.

Ohnoitsoak plants wheat wherever people die, as part of “the Harvest.”

Sonicmike7044, Johnsonofdonut, and unidingo of Jungle’s Edge carpet bomb the entire server.

Kiwi dies in front of Fishie in said carpet bombings

Sonicmike wins 👑

SEASON 2

Double Life rules, with some adjustments: health bars are not linked, only lives. Additionally, all players are given the choice between a handful of animals, and are paired with whoever chooses the same one.

In direct contrast to S1: Fishie and Dingo are paired (the Camels. They get along just fine), and Kiki and Sonicmike are paired (the Cats. They beat each other up)

navibree (ME!!!!) and occultwhiskers (Oku), or the Pandas, arrange a server-wide potluck. John johnsonofdonut kills Oku and blows up the potluck.

Kiki and Sonicmike kill the cat of the Cows (spacetrashpile and nullifi3d_), and also start an endless raid due to their villagers’ close proximity to a pillager outpost.

In my frantic revenge plans for John, I fall to my death twice in a row, making the Pandas the first out. John plays piano through his mic at the Pandas’ funeral.

Echidna takes Oku’s head home with her.

I go to death limbo (referred to as Elysium after death. yeah like the song). I fall to my death to prove a point, killing limbo!Oku by mistake.

In the midst of endlessly grinding for wither skulls and hearing Oku’s ghostly voice in his head, Kiki “became catholic,” reciting prayers in hopes for salvation.

The Cats are the last pair standing. Sonicmike flips a coin and kills themselves. Kiwiibird is dropped by god. Kiki wins! 👑

SEASON 3

🛸🔮👻🐟

OR: Ratastrophe. Last Life rules, except everyone is one rotisserie tall. Additionally, if a life is transferred to a spectator at spawn, in the same session that the spectator died, each player can be revived once. This is where shit starts to get insane.

Teams are formed: the Anthill (🐜), the Coven (🔮), and the Lillies (🥀, kept secret until session 9).

When the Coven and Anthill meet to trade, I (🐜) see Oku (🔮) and lose my shit. We meet up in private for a date / bookclub meeting, and I find out that Oku, in addition to looking completely different than they did in S2, doesn’t remember anything from previous seasons.

Mei (meikyowo, 🐜) proposes the “Oku Alien Theory”— the idea that the original Oku was abducted by aliens and replaced by “Broku,” an alien clone. I think Mei is a genius.

I try to put Oku in a cage to run experiments on her. Oku escapes and tells the Coven. Kiwi (🔮) tells me I can’t be doing that, and grounds Oku from seeing me. After 15 minutes of arguing about Oku’s origins, and being interrupted by Mei boogey-killing Phia (🔮) and blowing up the Coven’s house, the Coven and the Anthill are firmly enemies.

Enraged by Mei’s crimes, Sonicmike (🔮) trades all but one of her lives to Kiki, and dedicates the session to hunting Mei. Consequently, Kiki’s skin inverts its colors, and his disposition flips entirely. He becomes the “anti-kiwi”— later dubbed Peregrine.

Fishie (🥀) throws a birthday party near spawn. As a birthday gift, Peregrine gives Fishie a salmon head, as a callback to S1.

Mei shows up to the party. Sonicmike shoots and chases her, but Mei uses an end crystal to obliterate Sonicmike.

Kiki revives Sonicmike, trades all of his lives back, and “goes back to normal.” Peregrine continues to make the occasional appearance, however. (After some discussion, Kiki is later canonized as a system.)

I take the Anthill over to the Coven to make friendship bracelets. While I’m there, Kiki tells me that Oku can’t be an alien clone, because Kiki already knows exactly what Oku is. When questioned, Kiki says “a ghost” told him, as he is a medium. I assume this ghost is s2!Oku, and beg for medium lessons. Kiki reluctantly agrees.

Fishie puts on the salmon head she got from the party. She acts strange, as if she were still in Season 1, reliving every session one by one.

Kiki and the Anthill hold a séance and contact what is, supposedly, the ghost of s2!Oku. Kiki “gets possessed,” but the ritual explodes before a conclusion can be reached.

Kiki, fed up with S1!Fishie, takes the salmon head off by force. Fishie “goes back to normal.” Big quotes.

Fishie and Kiki have a talk that, in their words, concludes their arcs. Kiki “no longer has problems.” Big quotes, again.

I realize that if Kiki was possessed by S2!Oku, this means that Oku really did just die. Rather than accept it, I freak out and declare that I’m going back to the alien theory, and decide to build a giant pillar into the sky, so that I can reach the moon and talk to Oku (who, as abducted by aliens, must be on the moon) directly. “Broku” begs me to reconsider, but I instead throw her stacks of cobblestone, so that she can tower up with me.

Oku falls off on the way up. Oku comes back with renewed determination to reach me.

Oku falls off on the way up. Again.

Oku, now red, finds me and tells me that I must be right about the theory. Oku wants to build a machine to send them back to the moon. I agree.

Echidna (unaligned) convinces me to go to the Coven while we wait for the moon to rise. A few others follow me, and we all huddle around a sign. The boogeyman, Fishie, takes the opportunity to set off a tnt minecart, killing six people at once. This includes Oku.

Oku, once revived by Oak (🔮), builds the moon machine with a concerning amount of explosives. Echidna, worried about my wellbeing, tries to stop this. I almost kill her about it. Echidna logs in next session with a bandaged eye, implying that I slashed it in this attack. I don’t comment on this.

Once the machine is rigged up with Oku in the center, Echidna presses the button. Oku explodes.

At Oku’s funeral, it’s almost unanimously decided that things will be better for everyone, now that they’re gone.

At some point in all of this, Fishie realizes she doesn’t actually remember S1 and S2 like she did before. She keeps this a secret.

Feeling lost without Oku, I look for employment opportunities. Fishie hires me.

I change my mind and die trying to kill Fishie for vengeance. Sonicmike gives me several firework crossbows for a second attempt, but I accidentally blow myself up instead.

Echidna revives me. I immediately try to kill him for pressing the button that killed Oku, but fail.

Mei, unable to attend the rest of the season due to real life circumstances, hosts a will-reading where they distribute all of their valuables before dying forever, including an end crystal and netherite armor.

I ask greygery (🐜) to help me build a grave for s2!Oku. Kiki wears my player head to give me a talk about grief. Joetagonist (🐜) plays clangen the whole time. Really awesome conclusion wouldn’t have it any other way.

Fishie writes Kiki a note that’s actually very important but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was about. I’m not a fishiekiwi expert you’ll need to watch the videos or talk to one of our two awesome fans for that one.

Sonicmike leads a small party of red names around in hopes to land a kill. The plan is to kill Fishie, but I get so fed up with Sonicmike’s leadership that I launch an attack on Dingo (🥀) instead. Unbeknownst to me, Dingo has a gun*.

Dingo shoots me point blank. I lose all of my health instantly.

Sonicmike kills Dingo in return. Dingo, freshly red, also shoots Sonicmike. Sonicmike dies for good.

Echidna messages me an apology, for (assumedly) letting me die. I see an opportunity, and possess Echidna (double-clicking on a player in spectator mode allows you to talk to them and see through their eyes) for the remainder of the series. Echidna tries to kill himself about it. Twice. It got awesome, what can I say.

My best friend, Joetagonist (🐜), gets bored without me around and kills himself about it. Joe waits until the very end of the session, so that nobody can revive Joe and Joe can die for good.

Inexplicably, Joe silently stalks the server in a bloody creepypasta flesh horror rendition of Joe’s skin. This makes Kiki catholic again.

Dingo reveals the existence of the Lillies. She’s then hunted down as a team effort between the Coven and the Anthill.

The Coven and the Anthill strategically coalesce into Team Chimera.

Kiwi decides to turn against Team Chimera, and gets multiple kills before dying himself.

It’s looking bad for Team Chimera.

Oak, unable to attend the final session, kills himself. This is accompanied by a will and several paintings in the beastlife discord art channel. She leaves their yellow life to Echidna, in the form of a totem.

The Lillies (fishiecomics, moch_ila) and Team Chimera (overlyechidna, greygery, spacetrashpile) meet up for the final showdown

Fishie accidentally shoots Moch with her gun. Moch dies forever.

Echidna and Gery get shot. They also die forever.

Space lands a kill on Fishie, but Fishie’s still in it. Fishie shoots Space.

Fishie crawls into the grave she dug for her allies and places a wither rose. Fishie withers away.

This summary is still more bree-centric than I’d like it to be, but So Much happens to everybody all of the time that an all inclusive summary is near impossible. A lot of the fanart is of fishie or kiwi specifically, if that gives context. Hope this helps 👍 @taievieu

Rose by McLoud ( self described as a lithuanian rock band (although me and several others would place them somewhere closer to metal) ! Been picking at and discovering their discography lately. A lot of their songs are really energetic (a little less so with songs like "Aperol Spritz") and kinda very yell-ey at points (fun!). I've been listening to a couple songs from them on repeat "Rose" being among them!

Žvaigždės kartais krenta by FOJE [spotify / yt(live ver.)] ( found this while going through an unofficial archive channel for the band. I really like the lyrics (like a lot of their other songs) (although "Laužo šviesa" [yt] will still remain a classic from them at least to me) )

In the House - In a Heartbeat by John Murphy (from the "28 days later" soundtrack! I watched the movie sometime in winter and really enjoyed it! The soundtrack especially made an impression on me, I've kept returning to this song (instrumental?) (as well as "Frank's Death - Soldiers (Requiem in D Minor)") ever since )

Bøn fra helvete by Kaizers Orchestra ( The album ("Ompa til du dør") has been in my rotation for years now. Lately I've been trying to clear my palette (ig???) after listening to two of my playlists non-stop and listening to this album (among other things). Many good songs on this album but "Bøn fra helvete" is probably my favorite at the moment (though I still hold "Fra sjåfør til passasjer" dearly)

Geri vyrai by Vytautas Kernagis (a very silly song about a lithuanian tongue twister >:)c Also the one I'd recommend to give a listen to the most out of my selection!!! (it's very fun, I promise /gen !) I found it while I was walking and listening to Kernagis' discography on shuffle and got absolute whiplash not only due to going from one of his more melancholic sung poetry ones to not one of his silly songs, but a silly song with some english lyrics??? It's been stuck in my head like an earworm (send help (don't)/j)
