decided to take some of my fav posts from this year and compile them in one post! it was so fun to see how i've found my style.

okay ya'll actually have no idea how excited i am to rant about these guys. if you've been following me for a long time you'll recognize hawthorne on the left there, with yet another redesign. the reason they've changed so much is simply because I didn't know what to do with them. but now i do! if you're reading this you're probably interested in hearing more! and boy do i have so much i could say but for now I'll try keep their bios short. (in order of youngest to oldest)

from a young age hawthorne, they struggled to fit in. it was enough being a member of the royal family with a third eye. but when their body wasn't developing into a "typical man's body" around the typical age for puberty, he was ostracized even further. the one place hawthorne felt comfortable at was the overgrowth, which was ruled by his father. in fact, they are the most in tune with their druid abilities, making it a no brainer who would gain dominion of the land after him. now, hawthorne is training to take full responsibility of the overgrowth and its harvests. as lysander and nesryn grow, hawthorne struggles to find his voice.

as a druid, people expected lysander and his siblings to spend his time in the garden or woods. while hawthorne found solace in the overgrowth, lysander spent time in the library. he became fascinated with history. this would translate into a dedication to archiving the royal library. while it took him years to do so, he eventually finished archiving the library. with nothing else better to do, and no other duties, lysander began traveling to parts of the world that the books didn't cover. he truly believes he's doing something good, so he struggles to see how his presence as a highborn could upset the places he visits.

nesryn bucked at every expectation set for her. as a druid princess people imagined the king's niece to be a flower loving, kindhearted, soft spoken darling. that idea would quickly be shut down when instead of that they were introduced to nesryn, a short haired, loud, belching, and boisterous woman. she took up fighting classes at a young age, despite the king discouraging them. at 16 nesryn would become a squire for a famous knight. she would learn the true meaning of knighthood during this time, and at 18 she would be graduated to be a knight. while it wasn't unheard of for a woman to be a knight, most were expected to just be support, not actually involving themselves in combat. but of course this, wouldn't be nesryn. her headstrong nature and general masculinity is what got her the title "ser" as opposed to the title of "dame". at times she can some off as stubborn and uncaring. but everything nesryn does it to protect her family, especially hawthorne.
