the backstory of these two: Sammael is an assassin known as The Hound trained by the Chantry before he killed his handler and escaped. he continued to work as an assassin, and during the earliest days of the Inquisition, he was hired to kill Yuo. Yuo thwarted this attempt decisively and aroused Sammael's interest in doing so. Sammael then offered his blade to Yuo and also expressed interest in sleeping with him.

Yuo is skeptical at first, but at this point does not fully trust his advisors and so agrees to utilize Sammael's skills. without his advisors' knowledge, he charges Sammael with rooting out those in the Chantry and other positions of power who would strike at him. Sammael reports to Yuo through the Red Jennies, and Yuo will either have his enemies disposed of or turn their machinations against them.

eventually, Sammael gains Yuo's trust and reciprocated interest, and they enter into a casual sexual relationship up until Yuo recruits the mages and devotes himself more seriously to closing the Breach. Yuo's companions are aware of Sammael's presence and his relationship with Yuo, but only Sera knows the full extent of what Sammael does for him.

following Yuo's appointment as Inquisitor, there are several more assassination attempts, a couple of which succeed in getting close to him. Sammael is responsible for finding their employers and removing the threats. he later ends up working with Zevran Arainai, and an old acquaintance of Yuo's, who interferes with a Crow assassination attempt.

3. a report written by your OC’s teacher or mentor

[A burned notebook filled to the brim with entries, very few are still readable. It is unclear who the writer is as the entries are only signed with the initials "A.G" No date is found to indicate when these entries were written.]

The Hound has been left in my possession following the death of its last handler. The beast is near feral, and I have been unable to remove the muzzle from its face nor the chains from its body. It thrashes about wildly when i come near and has attempted to lunge at me several times. I have been unable to properly examine it for injuries since it came into my possession.

It is clear to me why I was chosen as his new handler--this poor beast requires extensive training.

It does not tire easily. It howls and growls late into the night until its throat is raw and no sound can be heard. And still it continues to fight, causing injurt to itself which i shall have to tend to eventually if I intend to keep it alive.

I almost admire its strength.

Still i do not imagine it will be much longer before the poor mutt exhausts itself. By then i believe it will be ready for me to begin its training.

It will be most interesting to see what works best for it. First I think I will attempt to make it believe that I am its friend. Then we shall see how it reacts to a heavier hand. I must build it up and give it strength before I can break it properly.

4.a letter from your OC to their love interest

This one was a little more difficult because Sammael taught himself how to read and write and often struggles with stringing words together and spelling. Instead of a letter I did a list of things that remind him of Nanin and some of the words Sammael desperately wishes he could convey to Nanin.

[A messily written list scrawled onto a folded peice of parchement found tucked beneath Sammael's bedroll. The words "sunshine, beautiful, burning, gold, strong, angry" are written in broken common. Most words are barely legiable while others have been hastily crossed out. Beside the note there is a small pouch containing small trinkets and oddities he seems to have been collecting for some time. Peaking inside reveals several small amber rocks, dried embrium pettles folded neatly into blood stained cloth, a brown and white mottled feather, a gold earring, and a single wolf's tooth.]

9. a future historian’s account of your OC’s actions

[An exerpt from a book on Thedas myth and folk lore and how it can be tied to historical events. Shortly after the study was published, the writer disapeared and many believe that it was in part caused by his writing, particularly his writing on the subject of the Hound. Very few copies of this book can still be found as the Chantry has all but banned them.]

The story of the Hound has been around for centuries. It has been a folk tale told to misbehaving children and a hushed whisper among nobility and common folk alike. To some he is a giant wolf with a blood stained maw and to others he is a man like any other. Most can agree he is still a beast in his own right.

But he is not simply a story. He is a footnote in much of Thedas' history and the image of the beast is a shadow over the death of great kings.

Over the centuries he has been linked to the historical deaths of several noble families. Families that I should note were once in high standing with the Chantry before they eventually fell out of favor. One such family was the Beausoleil family--once said to have been blessed by the Maker himself-- before every man women and child carrying their name was massacred--[The rest of the page is torn out along woth several other pages following it.]

💪 : What is your OC’s most physically attractive attribute?

Probably his eyes, he’s got hetrochromia so one of his eyes is light green while the other is brown with golden flecks and has the prettiest eyelashes known to man. He definitely also has major puppy dog eyes (werewolf moment🥰)

🧠 : What is your OC’s most mentally attractive attribute?

Ummmmmmm his strength, he’s survived a-lot over the years especially when he was still controlled by the chantry and has spent all of his life fighting against the control the chantry and his handlers had over him. He’s lost himself to their control more than once but has never fully given up fighting.

👀 : Does your OC believe they are attractive? Do they use that to their advantage?

I think he definitely knows people find him attractive but he rarely purposefully uses that to his advantage. The most he would do is a cheeky smile or puppy dog eyes when he’s flirting. He certainly doesn’t mind if it works in his favor that people find him attractive though.

👃 : Does your OC smell good? Do they have a signature scent?

He smells like wet dog

jokes aside i think he actually smells really good, like petrichor, leather,and woodsy musk(also probably blood even when he hasn’t been in a fight recently)

😍 : What does your OC find irresistible in others?

Strength, in all forms is just unbelievably attractive to him. He’s spent a-lot of his life having to protect himself or worry about having to protect others from himself should he lose control, the idea that someone else could take on the role of protector for him is something that isn’t just attractive, its comforting. He also likes knowing that if he ever lost control there are people who could stop him from hurting anyone.

🦴 : Does your OC have much sexual experience? What are they like?

He does, some of it doesn’t bring fond memories, at least the experiences from before his escape from the chantry. Following his escape he enjoys the freedom and agency it gives him to choose his sexual partners. I think he’s generally the type to be down to try anything once and particularly enjoys when theres a bit of a struggle for dominance, especially if it ends with him being overpowered.

🔥 : What’s a surefire way to make your OC get flustered?

Honestly overpowering him is one of the few things that gets him flustered. He’s a big guy and he’s killed more people than he can count with his bare hands and brute strength so its not exactly everyday that someone else puts him on his ass. It just absolutely drives him nuts when the person he’s attracted to is able to pin him down or even just land a couple of decent hits on him. Sparring is basically foreplay to him.

💌 : How would they plan a romantic evening for a significant other?

He’s never really had to organize a romantic evening in the past but I think if he tried to he would be really earnest about it, doing his absolute best to figure out exactly what his partner would enjoy. Maybe tries to get flowers for them, but their all wild flowers that he picked himself and most of them are weeds and they get kinda crushed in his hands even though he’s trying his best to be gentle with them. He fumbles a-lot of his plans for the evening but its sort of charming because he clearly wants his partner to enjoy themselves. In the end he just settles for a night under the stars with his partner in his arms, maybe a round of sparring before they fall into bed together.

Sammael is fr everyone’s favorite little manwhore (as he should be)

Face: Describe your OC’s face. What’s their smile like? Are their orbs cerulean? What would someone notice first when looking at them?

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again he has the cheekiest smile ever, its more of a shit eating grin than anything, sharp canines on full display. For lack of a better way of describing it he has a very wolfish smile/grin. He has hetrochromia so on eye is green while the other is golden brown and they are accentuated by his dark lashes. I think the first thing people notice when looking at hm is probably the scars on his face considering he has one particularly large one that cuts from on cheek, over his nose and up into his hair line as well as another that traces his cheekbone on one side.

Formal: What’s your OC’s formal look? Do they like dressing up? Do they have different looks for different occasions?

HA! good fucking luck getting this man into formal attire. It’s already a struggle to get him into proper clothes on a regular basis. He finds formal attire to be too stiff and it makes him feel sort of trapped, if you can find something that doesn’t make him feel like he needs to tear off his clothes in order to move then he might be convinced to dress formally. (You still might struggle to get him to put on a shirt though)

Informal: What’s your OC’s lazy day look? How do they like to dress when they’re winding down?

One word. Naked….Honestly though I think he wears as little clothes as he can get away with when he’s winding down. He is not a fan of clothes and jumps at any chance to be wearing less.

Bling: What jewelry does your oc wear? Does it have any meaning?

He has a lot of jewelry, most of which is stolen and he doesn’t really wear alot of it, just likes that they belong to him now. He does have several piercings though, including his ears, his bottom lip and the bridge of his nose. It doesn’t really have meaning beyond making him feel like he has control over his body.

Favorite for sammael

Puppyboy of all time (but like specifically a puppy that is actually a rlly big dog who acts like a puppy still)

Favorite: Does your OC have a favorite article if clothing or accessory? What is it? What’s the meaning behind it? Do they wear it all the time or do they wear it sparingly to keep it safe?

He hasn’t always had items that belonged only to him and now that he has his own belongings he has a hard time picking just one favorite. For the most part his favorites are accessories, mostly various rings and jewelry that he’s stolen over the years, most notably he carries a ring with him from one of his handlers when he was still with the chantry. (Solar if you are reading this, yes it is a ring with Ademar’s family crest). It’s not really his favorite but it is important to him because it reminds him what he has to protect his loved ones from. He doesn’t wear the ring but he does carry it with him almost all the time.
