What do you think of darchlight forms? I think the idea is cute but saying it's a true reflection of a person's soul is a bit dramatic. Erin consistently had a devil motif in some subtle (and not so subtle) ways. Having her appear like that in darchlight was interesting. Especially when you consider that for some players that's the first time they are seeing her. Do you have a favourite darchlight form? My favourite was Erin's, espcially that one animation where she is leaning to the side and the tail is swaying about.

darchlight forms are fun, but you only see them like once in the story afaik so i feel a little disappointed at that.

if you know what you want out of an oc it's pretty fun, though.

my relevant ocs have their own darchlight forms, so naturally those would be where my favorites lie.

i ramble; chapter 15 spoilers

nia's darchlight form was the easiest. she's a soccer player. not much to explain outside of the fact she's an ari host so i wanted something to match her, since both of their characters are very similar already .

sara was a little harder for me, honestly. i had an idea, but i later shifted it to her interceptor form.. which left me back at square one. i could've just left it there and let the darchlight form hint at it, buuut i think it would've been better if that was all locked away until chapter 15. sara knows more than what she lets on. and so does nia, but hush hush.

she's a nephalem in darchlight. (half angel half demon)

upon the first visit, she's more demon than angel. but if they were to visit again, they'd be leaning more angel than before (still demon lean though. i don't want yet another guardian angel thing whatever since there's a few of those and I don't like my ideas being too close so someone else's)

rene sara, however... would be similar in being a nephalem, but leans more demon until now, where they hardly have any angel characteristics

OOOOH BOY LOADED QUESTION.

i have been waiting for an ask like this. you dont even know. i looove fun facts and i have a few laying around.

gonna stick to my main character ocs since they have the most stuff about them- i have some side ocs like rue and rene but they are not nearly as developed, so there'd be little to no fun facts for them

also gonna try and keep this, somewhat organized but it's bound to devolve.

rhea:

originally she was going to be shipped with. shudders. fern.

i got the idea to kill her parents in a fire from an idea from a year prior to making her, where the main character's home burnt down mysteriously and a wild absol saved them, forcing them to embark on a journey. i never developed this idea much further so i instead recycled elements from this to make rhea and sara.

that main character's pokemon included every eeveeloution, hence where i got her theme from.

originally rhea was also going to be an empath but i figured i liked her being autistic instead, so i switched it.

yes she is canonically autistic

she's polyam! right now the idea is her to be shipped with victoria and saphira.

her family heirloom is called the obsidian starshard- it is the 5th key to the ruins under reborn. long ago one of her ancestors (i assume a grandparent,) stole the starshard and fled reborn for alola. a small branch of the guardians of the ruins chased after them to retrieve it, but they were always evaded. it eventually led to her mother passing it down to her to keep the organization on their toes when they caught up to her years later.

that eventually ended up leading rhea back to reborn. small world, huh?

her name is pronounced ray-a. its technically wrong, but i think it suits her more.

as a kid her nickname was ray-ray. which is. longer than her actual name

she actually had to battle shade twice, since she was too psyched out to focus the first time around due to seeing corey die again.

rhea and hardy are good friends

she has litchenburg figures from being struck with a thunderbolt. most of the scarring is on her back, but you can see some of it on her arms and collarbone

rhea's trainer class is rising star during maingame. as champion it's protector of reborn

after the events of agate city, rhea almost passes out since it was so soon after she got injured

before the amaria incident, rhea loved swimming

she blames herself for that as well, constantly trying to figure out what she did wrong

she adopted the eevee from the lost railcave. she named him florence after the captain.

30. If they had the chance to be famous would they take it? If they are famous would they rather they weren't?

nia's already quite famous, and is the only oc of mine that actually likes it. her trainer class for a good chunk of the game is 'showstopper,' where she loves putting on a show and the stage feels like home to her. she loves hearing the crowd cheer her name, but what she won't tell you is that sometimes it feels... hollow.

there isn't much else to say since i haven't developed her in that area beyond that.

sara dislikes their fame. it's unwanted attention, for something they think they get too much praise for. to the world they're a hero, but to them all they see is a person lost, and constantly making mistakes. most of the time they don't exactly understand why people think they're so great, and that includes on social media where i imagine they tried to lay low but people eventually found them.

they do begrudgingly accept it in the 'well if that's what you think i can't stop you but i certainly didn't ask for this' sort of way. which... is probably what draws people in- not only do they occasionally post pictures they think they look pretty in, but they tend to be a little... ['thanks, i hate this'] ['i hate everything'], sometimes in an affectionate way but usually in response to something silly.

they usually stick to interacting with people they know and making selfie posts but that's just about it.

hasumi is a pokemon. hasumi does not care about 'fame.' she's more infamous than famous with how oddly powerful she is, even if she doesn't appear in battle very often. she typically doesn't need to.

towards the beginning she took the lead in battle while sara was raising their other pokemon, but once their teams were fully evolved, she retreated into the backset since the pokemon sara typically use are.. also strange. stronger than the typical pokemon of their species.

*i'm not entirely sure what this question meant, so for clarification, i'm interpreting this as 'do they have trouble knowing who's their friend and who is their enemy' since that's what i originally thought it meant.

not really. she's very aware of who is and who isn't against her and the gang. the only people i can see this being sort of gray are ren and eli/sharon, since they're all xen members. ren is back to being her friend after they made up, but she tries to forget that he's with the enemy since he is also helping her too. so far he hasn't done anything funny since he rejoined the group, so she's going to put her faith in him. that's what friends are for!

she likes eli and sharon. they don't seem to be pushing back against her as much anymore, and they're not that bad to talk to either. she'd probably want to protect them if it ever came down to that as well.

50. What is your favorite thing about them?

i still want to improve on her stuff since a few things are likely gonna change with my run with her. i think so far it's just how she plays pretend and overcompensates based on how bad she's feeling. the worse she feels the more outgoing and friendly she is. (but generally she's just like that too. it just gets cranked up to 11)

this got really long. answers under the cut. there's also major desolation spoilers towards the end- i have it marked just in case.

alone: How does your OC deal with loneliness? Have they ever been completely alone before? How do they act when there's no one around to see them?

sara doesn't mind it. it is a feeling they are used to. sometimes being alone is a welcome thing, something they seek out, and other times... they want nothing more than the company of the one they care for the most. but sometimes they don't listen to their own wishes and stay where they are, looking at the moon and thinking to themself.

there are times where they prefer to not be with their own thoughts, but they have better alternatives than potentially waking and bothering someone else up for something so.. small.

when they are alone, their true self comes out. they are the most relaxed when they are alone, but also the most tense. they could always have someone after them just waiting for the perfect chance.. when they let their guard down.. they wouldn't let that happen. they can't.

there was a point in their life where they might not have been physically alone, but emotionally they were. that point is long gone and forgotten, waiting to be remembered..

nia doesn't like being alone, no matter what. she thrives with other people. she doesn't have to think about other things when she's with her friends. whenever the loneliness comes to haunt her, she goes to melia, or aelita, or venam, or.. anyone. anything to get rid of it. it's a horrid feeling and she never wants to feel it, or let anyone else feel it when she could have a say in it.

has she been truly alone? yes. once. momentarily. it is a blurry memory. one she doesn't know she has. but she was never alone again since.

midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?

sleep doesn't come easy for either of them.

for sara, it's a normal occurrence to be up late at night. their internal clock is a few hours later than the average person's, so they usually can't go to sleep until it's pretty late already. and that's on a good day, assuming they aren't stressed about something, tossing and turning, or having a nightmare. they are already a light sleeper and can wake up from tossing and turning, so having a nightmare usually ends in them waking up from it.

night time, when they can't sleep, is usually when they paint, since they can see pretty well in the dark and there's little to nothing to interrupt them. when they feel their eyelids droop, they drop everything and crawl into bed. they try to clean up when they wake up, but sometimes they can fall asleep very suddenly. it results in many of their paintings being left half-finished, but they usually remember to go back and finish when they have the inspiration to do so.

nia is on the other side of the sleep spectrum. she is a very heavy sleeper. its to the point where its almost like she likes to be asleep, despite being very hyper and energetic when she is awake. she even swats at people that try to wake her up, unknowingly of course.

she has more of a hard time falling asleep than she does staying asleep. since night is usually when she can't exactly distract herself with socializing or training, she is left alone with her thoughts. the one thing she doesn't want. when there's nothing to do, she starts thinking a little too hard about things. the worries and stresses of the day and previous events catches up to her, and it all comes on fast. sometimes she feels very hopeless in those quiet, lonely nights,but that's where valen comes in. her sylveon senses that she is feeling down and clambers into her bed, reaps his ribbons around her arms in a very familiar way, and within minutes she calms down and is fast asleep, worries banished, even if it is only a temporary solution.

mistake: What's the worst mistake your OC ever made? What led to them making it? Have they been able to fix it? How have they moved on?

nia's biggest mistake was accidentally creating the doomed timeline. one act of kindness turned into a much bigger mess-up, the defeat of vivian in the past had turned the future into a wasteland.

and it was all her fault.

she should have seen that coming- it only made sense! of course bad things happening would be a reason more good things happen in the future- had she never spent nights questioning what would have happened if the s.s. oceania was never attacked? if she and her mother had made it to aevium without issue? she would have never met melia, or ren, or everyone else, or at least, in the same way.

she already understood that bad things must happen for the present to be how it is.

it was in a flurry of fear and panic for the safety of one person that she had forgotten the majority. while she was able to correct her mistake, she can never forget. the panic. the fear. the coldness of the lines between life and death.

she was fortunate enough to be able to cheat death a third time... but little did she know that would be the last time she would be able to do that.

MAJOR DESOLATION SPOILERS AHEAD

kisaragi's biggest mistake was accidentally freeing darkrai. a series of lies, deceit, manipulation and illusions was put into delicately preparing the newest dreamer to free them. all orcastrated by darkrai itself. fooled into thinking that ayrith was the fake realm and the dreamscape was reality, things were looking grim.

but not all hope was lost, as sara had spent just long enough time in the dreamscape to allow curiosity to fester. whenever they could, they learned. they learned about the history of the dreamscape, the oddities of the world, how it worked, and anything in between. their natural tendency to help others worked in their favor, as some of the favors they had done led them to new clues for them to attempt to piece the puzzle together.

of course, all of it didn't make sense, but it was still interesting. at least, that's what she thought at the time.

before them was darkrai, a legendary pokemon. it exuded power and control. its very presence made them want to grovel before it and obey its every command. it is only in their very nature, happening to be a dark type before a pokemon of such status, and sharing typings.

no. they couldn't give into such urges, even if it is in their instinct to do so. they needed to think rationally, but their body momentarily acted on its own. their left arm reached out... and then they remembered. what lilith said. their friends- no, everyone. even amelia, unfortunately. even though the dreamscape had someone they cared for.. a lot.. they knew that they would never be able to forgive themself for leaving the others behind. they'd never forgive themself for letting them all worry about them.

all this time, they had questioned what they fought for. at some point, they would have said that it was just to defend themself, but that was no longer the case. battling the foxes and crescent was no longer just self-defense.

they fought to see their friends welcome them home with open arms.

curiosity may have killed the cat, but the satisfaction brought her right back. they were able to fend off darkrai with their own powers, but it still got away.... luckily, there was only so many places in ayrith. they'd be able to fix their own foolish mistake, and it was to stop him in its tracks.

they would never be able to sleep peacefully at night if they couldn't. they had a promise to keep, after all.
