OC TROPE CHALLENGE DAY 9: Living with the Enemy

Maeda Maru & Fennec Shand

Maeda felt cold dread seep in as the helmet fell from her target’s face.

“F-Fennec?” Her feet carried her fast until she was crouched beside her wife, who was now gasping for air.

Fennec’s eyes narrowed as she looked up at her, her mouth hardening into a tight line.

“Don’t. Touch. Me.” She gritted, weakly pushing the other woman away, “Leave-“ she took Maeda’s hand off her wound.

Fennec wasn’t going to last long, not with where and what Maeda had shot her with.

“I didn’t-I didn’t know-I didn’t know-“ Maeda felt tears threatening to spill over as she tried to hold her wife again.

“Dont. Touch. Me.” Fennec growled again, wincing as she turned away.

“I’m-“

“Enough.” Fennec cut off Maeda, “Enough.”

Maeda’s mouth snapped shut, her jaw clenching. Fennec let out a pained grunt, but smacked her arm away as she tried to comfort her.

“Leave.”

“I will not.”

“This is why you’ll never-“ Fennec cut herself off with a hiss and weakly clutched at her wound.

Maeda rolled her back to her, her chest tightening as she saw her wife’s face scrunched up in pain.

It was only another few moments, before Fennec’s features relaxed, and a final death rattle escaped her lungs as she went limp in Maeda’s arms.
