🌟 When your OC loses all hope, who do they turn to first? What helps make them feel better? What calms them down and reassures them? Why?

It used to be Felix who she’d turn to first, but then kotfe happened, and now she and Kimarra turn to each other for reassurance. Meditating also helps, as well as practicing lightsaber forms since it’s repetitive. Mostly just knowing someone is there for her, that she isn’t in it alone, helps make her feel better.

☀️ What makes your OC genuinely happy? A person, an item, their hobby? Where is the place they’re happiest, or most at home? What is the happiest they’ve ever been?

Her family, her crew (which are the same thing in her eyes). Home for her will always be the Jedi temple on Tython, ever since she first set foot on the planet to begin her padawan training. The happiest she’s ever been would have to be the day she married Felix with all her friends and family there to celebrate. 

🦋 If your OC could change everything (or just something) about their life would they? What would they change? What do they think would happen if they did? What would their loved ones think?

Before she and Kimarra really connected and fell in love, she wanted more than anything for kotfe to have never happened, for the war to end, for her to settle down with Felix and start a family of their own. A peaceful life. Now, she’s a little conflicted, because if kotfe/et never happened then she and Kimarra still wouldn’t trust each other let alone love each other. She can’t say she’s happy with her life in kotet, but she’s found a little bit of happiness with Kimarra, and she wouldn’t want to give that up or trade it in for her old happiness. 

☁️ What’s something your OC wishes they could forget? Why is this? Or, what is something that your OC has forgotten? (or do both!)

She doesn’t really wish she could forget anything, because she knows even the darkest parts of her life shaped her into who she is now. She does wish she could remember anything about her parents, who died when she was just four years old.

30 Day SWTOR OC Challenge Day 21: Coda

How do they change after their story? What is their “epilogue” like? Is it different from canon?

The Outlander: Are they the “Outlander” or do they have another part in the Alliance? Do they leave the Alliance or stay? Do they still consider themselves a member of the Sith or the Republic?

While Theron was spying on Manaan in the prologue to Shadow of Revan Fucks Up Again, Ker is approached by Kimarra aka Darth Nox about a certain ritual Kimarra has… ahem… discovered in her travels. (She would prefer not to disclose precisely how she discovered this ritual, and after much deliberation, Kerfaff decides she would prefer that as well.) The ritual is intended to locate the Emperor’s true form in order to track him down and kill him while he’s still vulnerable, which Kimarra knows about because she’s also recruited Cethric aka the Emperor’s Wrath, who would very much prefer not to be that.

To perform this ritual, Kimarra needs people who have had direct contact with the Emperor, which is, understandably, hard to come by, and the only people she can use without tipping him off are the former Children that Kerfaff dealt with, including Kerfaff’s brother, Kerfaff’s brother’s girlfriend, and Kerfaff’s brother’s former Emperor’s Wrath. (She would also prefer not to disclose how she knows this information. What kind of Dark Council member doesn’t have spies, after all?)

Her other option is to kidnap the Emperor’s Hand, with Cethric assures her is a Very Bad Idea. So, reluctantly, she turns to the Jedi.

Kerfaff considers the offer, goes back to the Council, considers the offer some more but this time with more people… and eventually they agree to it, with the understanding that, when Kimarra inevitably tries to take over the Empire just like the last Sith they accepted help from, they would Deal with her.

Then, while Kimarra’s looking for a way to kill the Emperor before they perform the first ritual, Revan Fucks Up Again, rendering all of that a moot point.

Then the Eternal Empire shows up, and suddenly revisiting that idea of an alliance doesn’t sound so bad. So when Marr figures out where Valkorion/Emperor proto-Palpatine is, he immediately calls Kimarra, and Kimarra calls Kerfaff and Candron and Cethric.

And then Candron dies in the initial attack, Kerfaff selflessly soldiers on, and Valkorion specifically singles out Cethric to kill even before Marr because of the whole traitorous Emperor’s Wrath thing. Or Cethric just isn’t there because he’s finally said “fuck this shit I’m out” to the Sith and moved to Alderaan. Idk yet, but Kerfaff and Kimarra are both the Outlanders.

Aaaaand, this ended up not actually being about Kerfaff per se. Ooops. Here’s more about my plans for her specifically.

1. Who pulls the other closer while sleeping?

Felix. He’s usually the big spoon.

2. How do they wake up next to each other? Ex - Tangled in each other’s arms? Is one falling off the bed? ECT.

Definitely wrapped in each other’s arms, spooning, just generally snuggling up a storm. 

9. When their partner has a bad day, what is something the other picks up to try and make their day a little better? Ex - Fast food, flowers, a punny card, ect.

From Felix? Hugs. Lots of hugs and tender kisses and murmured words of encouragement. Back massages. Basically anything to make her job a little bit more endurable, but only when they’re alone because he knows pda makes her uncomfortable. When they’re around other people he reigns it back to soft looks and subtle touches.

From Ker? She’s the Fixer. She sees Felix having a problem, she’s like okay here’s how we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna make this go away. 

12. Who presses their nose against their partner’s cheek before kissing them?

Keeeeeeeeeeer 100%

They’re disgustingly domestic. I love them.

13. Do you believe yourself to be truly free? If so, why? If not, what is holding you back?

“The Sith have it wrong: freedom – true freedom – is a myth. You’ll always be beholden to someone, no matter how hard you try to free yourself.”

50. How do you wish to be remembered? 

“For my strength. For my leadership. For how far I rose and how far those who held me back fell. For my mercy, and reform, and… and for Kerfaff. As much as I hope I’ll be remembered, I hope she is more. I couldn’t have done half the things I have without her. I… wouldn’t be half the person I am without her.”

12. Where does happiness come from? Define what happiness means to you.

“Family, whether born or found or made, and peace. If you’re at peace – with yourself, with your environment, with the Cosmic Force itself – then you can find happiness even in the darkest of places anywhere.”

45. What’s your day-to-day mantra?

“The Jedi Code. The original version, mind you, not the version created by Master Odan-Urr, which has, unfortunately, in my opinion, become the prevailing version of the Code that everyone knows.

4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts? 

Once I decided Ker grew up in the Order on Coruscant, I realized she had to have been there during the Sacking of Coruscant, so that was uhhhhh pretty influential. 

13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all? 

Not that far. She dies at the end of kotet but lives on as a force ghost in Kimarra’s head, so her impact on the plot is fairly minimal. I have decided that once Felix comes back, she and Kimarra agree to open up their relationship so Ker can be with Felix again.

19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?

She’s just so strong. She’s like this shining beacon of strength, even when she’s at her lowest -- and the poor woman gets pretty low in kotfe/et -- she always finds a way to power through and get back up.

4. What is their personal style like? Laid back and comfortable, or more chic and influenced by what’s fashionable at the time?

I’ve said somewhere else that her style is “elegant, yet practical,” and if she’s ever wearing anything less than like three layers and a skirt then either the world is ending or she’s on Tatooine. Then kotfe happens, she starts wearing pants, and her style changes to just practical.

10. How is their bedroom decorated?

On her ship it’s decorated with various artifacts she’s picked up from her travels and lots of books, both physical and on datachips. On Odessen it practically looks like no one lives there it’s so sparsely decorated.

14. What does your muse listen to, to help them relax?

Mostly laid-back, folksy stuff like the Indigo Girls and Norah Jones. (There’s a reason Tether and Peace are on her playlist.) When she’s missing Candron she’ll listen to classic rock, though, since that was his favorite music genre.
